  Hi all, I've built a web site using jquery to make nice transitions between content. The code works this way: there are 2 imgs (body and footer) when I click on a link (instead of going to another page) I fade out the 2 imgs and change the src attribute of the 2. When the new imgs are loaded I fade them back in. I'm using SWFaddress to allow user go directly to internal content. Now I'd like to make my content indexed by google and other Search engines, all the text content is inside the imgs, So I've got the text in ALT attribute. My question is: if a dinamically change the imgs ALT attribute using JS, will spiders be able to read it properly? consider that I'm using SWFaddress to create a sitemap.. Thanks

• List replies in a winform

  In my C# app I get an xml from a server that contains some replies like in a forum thread (with elements like author, time, body, title, whatever). When I get this xml, I create a new form in which i want to display these replies, and a little text box with an "add reply" button. I'd also like some edit buttons on perhaps my own replies in the reply list displayed in the form. The simplest way that came to my mind to display the replies is to put a web browser control in the form, generate a full html page in a string from the xml, and throw it in that web browser control. And under it i can put the text box with the add reply button. Everything is ok, except that i have no idea of how i could implement the edit function on my own replies (i mean i could add a link in there... but link to what) I would like to know if there is a way to get that edit event from the web browser control (my guess is i can't) or another (maybe simple/easy) idea of displaying the replies in a winform using other controls

  Is there a class or set of functions built into the .NET Framework (3.5+) to parse raw emails (MIME documents)? I am not looking for anything fancy or a separate library, it needs to be built-in. I'm going to be using this in some unit tests and need only grab the main headers of interest (To, From, Subject) along with the body (which in this case will always be text and therefore no MIME trees or boundaries). I've written several MIME parsers in the past and if there isn't anything readily available, I'll just put together something from regular expressions.   I'm trying to output the results of a SELECT query to a tab delimited text file in Advantage Data Architect. I know I can use the 'Export to' feature to do this, but there are a lot of tables and that is going to take forever. I would rather use the SQL editor, but I found out it does not accept the OUTPUT TO argument, even though that command is part of Sybase SQL.   A customer has an audio that is confidential and can't send it to me. He also would not like to install other tools. He has a basic Windows 7 install. Is there any way to tell whether the recording is one channel or two channel? Normally, I would just get the audio and soxi it. Or, I would tell him to install Audacity or equivalent sound editor and open it up. I also thought that if you right clicked and looked at the size, bit rate, and length, you could get number of channels but bit rate already factors in number of channels. • First request too slow even if I have a load balancer in the back

  I have an Apache 2 on Centos + bind with a wordpress website on it (e.g example.com). I have also set up, on another server in a different contry a load balancer (varnish:80 + nginx 127.0.0.1:8080) for it - which task is to server all static content under /wp-content/. Using Simple DNS editor I added an A entry to cdn.example.com pointing to the server's IP. So no extra work from a 2nd dns server. Then using htaccess I redirect all requests to jpg|gif|css|js files to cdn.example.com. That works and all files are saved on the "cdn" server and served right away. My problem is that for the first time I enter on example.com (e.g after restarting the computer or closing the browser) the load time is 1 up to 3 seconds, while any subsequent page loads take only 300 to 600 miliseconds. I know it might be a DNS issue, but I have done a cache check on several websites and cdn.example.com indicates the right IP. Do you have any ideas where I should dig to solve this first-time slowness?

  Hello, We are currently working with Flex creating a web application. We are having trouble taking Arabic text from the user and displaying correctly (like in a chat feature). While presumably Flash 10 will solve this problem, we don't want to force our users to upgrade. Flash flips the order of the sentence's words. so if I wrote something like "Hello World" in the text field, it will appear as "World Hello" in the chat area.   I am making a requset to a web service that sends custom error with proper HTTP header when I notice some validation error, this works fine in chrome and mozilla as things always do and then it broke in ie8 as it always does! After checking the network activity, I see that ie8 is not able to get response body when HTTP code is other that 200(or at-least it seems so). In groovy I am returning error like : render(status: 422, contentType: 'TEXT', text: ((errors as JSON) as String)) Is there a way I could somehow get ie8 to read in the response body, or as an alternative I might be able to set response header but before trying that I was wondering if you guys have already seen this issue and know a solution to it. Eithe way they need to be vertically centered. My plan to to append a class based on the number of characters and then adjust the padding from there. • ASP.NET Elements are null when assigning data source

  For some reason, all of the objects in my ASP.NET markup are now null when I try to assign values to their properties in the code behind. My project was going fine and then now when I try to assign a data source to a GridView, I get a null reference error. I have no idea why it's doing this. I am not doing nothing special. I am just trying to assign a value to a property to an asp.net element in on the page. The intellisense knows that the element is there and I get no errors when I build the project. It's just when I am running the website I get the null reference. I have been trying to fix this issue for a couple weeks now. Please Help. Thanks.
