• Where do I change the height of a navigationBar for an iPhone app?

  In my applicationDidFinishLaunching I set up a UINavigationController: - (void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication *)application { navController = [[UINavigationController alloc] init]; [[navController navigationBar] setFrame:CGRectMake(0.0,0.0,320.0,20.0)]; ... } As you can see, I am trying to make the navigation controller's height 20px. However, this is not working. I would imagine setFrame must be the correct function but I am not calling it in the right place. I realize that other questions on SO are similar to mine, but I think setting the navigationBar height should be possible if it responds to setFrame...right? Also, anyone know the default height of the navigationBar? Thanks!

  I'm having a class that implements RecognitionListener like this: public class listener implements RecognitionListener I wanted to show a alertdialog and use the vibrator but this isn't possible because I need to provide a context what I don't have. My alertdialog code was like this: new AlertDialog.Builder(this) .setTitle("dd") .setMessage("aa") .setNeutralButton("Ok", new DialogInterface.OnClickListener() { public void onClick(DialogInterface dialog, int which) { } }) .show(); But the AlertDialog.Builder(this) wants a context, the same problem with my vibrator code: v = (Vibrator) getSystemService(Context.VIBRATOR_SERVICE); The getSystemService method isn't available.   Hello everyone I have an UIAlertView with a textfield that shows a default value and two buttons, one to cancel and the other one to confirm.   So I'm writing an app that lets the user select a folder, it gets all the .aspx files in that folder, and lets the users check off which ones they want to add HTML ID's to. Then they click start, and this runs private void btnStart_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { for (int i = 0; i < listFiles.CheckedItems.Count; i++) { } } It loops through all the selected file names. How do I open each of these .aspx files in the background, and go through them and add the id="thisItemId" attribute to each tag that's like a , , , , , etc....

  Hi, I have the following arrays: int A[] = {0,1,1,1,1, 1,0,1,0,0, 0,1,1,1,1}; int B[] = {1,1,1,1,1, 1,0,1,0,1, 0,1,0,1,0}; int C[] = {0,1,1,1,0, 1,0,0,0,1, 1,0,0,0,1}; //etc... for all letters of the alphabet And a function that prints the letters on a 5x3 LED matrix: void printLetter(int letter[]) I have a string of letters: char word[] = "STACKOVERFLOW"; and I want to pass each character of the string to the printLetter function. I tried: int n = sizeof(word); for (int i = 0; i < n-1; i++) { printLetter(word[i]); } But I get the following error: invalid conversion from 'char' to 'int*' What should i be doing? Thanks!!

• How can I make my tableview enter editing mode?

  Hi, for some reason I can't get my tableview to enter editing mode. It's a little harder than it might seem because I'm using some open source code to make a calendar (iCal esque) with a tableview under it, and it's not quite as straightforward as just using a regular tableview. Basically, I have two classes. One (let's say Class A) is a UIViewController and the other (Class B) is that viewController's datasource and tableview delegate. In Class B, I've implemented -(void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath; which works fine, but if I put an edit nav bar item in Class A (the view controller), nothing happens. Am I forgetting certain protocols, or certain special methods that I need to write? Thanks for any help, and apologies if I'm missing something, I'm just learning to work with other people's code.

  I have a datagridview that is populating columns from different table. I want to filter the column based on another column of the current row. • Proper way to have an endless worker thread?

  I have an object that requires a lot of initialization (1-2 seconds on a beefy machine). Though once it is initialized it only takes about 20 miliseconds to do a typical "job" In order to prevent it from being re-initialized every time an app wants to use it (which could be 50 times a second or not at all for minutes in typical usage), I decided to give it a job que, and have it run on its own thread, checking to see if there is any work for it in the que. However I'm not entirely sure how to make a thread that runs indefinetly with or without work. Here's what I have so far, any critique is welcomed private void DoWork() { while (true) { if (JobQue.Count > 0) { // do work on JobQue.Pop() } else { System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(50); } } } After thought: I was thinking I may need to kill this thread gracefully insead of letting it run forever, so I think I will add a Job type that tells the thread to end. Any thoughts on how to end a thread like this also appreciated.

On a related note, i specified the height to be 500 via [scrollView setContentSize:], but that doesn't appear to be applied?

If you find a duplicate, remove, reindex, and fill the void. I'm running into the problem that conditional statements do not allow you to interact with an array outside of it's scope. I'm aware of array_unique but it doesn't refill those gaps, just makes them. How do I refill those gaps?
