  • Mouse stops working after changing function

    - by heyohletsgo
    I'm making a console board game on c++, and i've been able to make the mouse work in the first function, the menu one, however, when i get to the getmove function and need to click on a house, it simply doesn't work.. Can anyone help? This is the class with the mouse. #include <cstdlib> #include <iostream> #include <process.h> #include <windows.h> #include <time.h> #include <stdio.h> using namespace std; void Game(); int Chu(); int rato(int &row, int &col) { HANDLE hIn; hIn = GetStdHandle(STD_INPUT_HANDLE); bool Continue = TRUE; INPUT_RECORD InRec; DWORD NumRead; HWND window = GetConsoleWindow(); POINT cursorPos; RECT wpos; int x = 0; int y = 0; //cout << hIn << endl; FlushConsoleInputBuffer(hIn); while (Continue) { ReadConsoleInput(hIn, &InRec, 1, &NumRead); switch (InRec.EventType) { case MOUSE_EVENT: if (GetAsyncKeyState(VK_LBUTTON)) { cout << "RATO"<<endl; GetWindowRect(window, &wpos); GetCursorPos(&cursorPos); cursorPos.x -= wpos.left; cursorPos.y -= wpos.top; x = (cursorPos.x - 5) / 16; y = (cursorPos.y - 25) / 24; cout << x << " " << y << endl; row = x; col = y; return row; } else if (GetAsyncKeyState(VK_RBUTTON)){ GetWindowRect(window, &wpos); GetCursorPos(&cursorPos); cursorPos.x -= wpos.left; cursorPos.y -= wpos.top; x = (cursorPos.x - 5) / 16; y = (cursorPos.y - 25) / 24; cout << x << " " << y << endl; row = x; col = y; return row; } break; } } } int main() { cout << "\n\n\n click on the stars" << endl; cout << " \n\n\n *******" << endl; int z = 0; int x = 0; int y = 0; int xo = 0; switch (rato(x,y)) { case 1: Game(); break; case 2: Game(); break; case 3: Game(); break; case 4: rato(x, y); break; case 5: rato(x, y); break; case 6: Game(); break; case 7: Game(); break; case 8: Game(); break; case 9: Game(); break; default: cout << "click again"; break; } return 0; } void Game() { int x = 0; int y = 0; int i = 0; cout << "GAME" << endl; do{ i++; rato(x, y); } while (i <= 2); Chu(); } int Chu() { int x = 0; int y = 0; int a = 0; int b = 0; int xo = 0; int yo = 0; cout << "\ click on the stars" << endl; HANDLE hConsole; hConsole = GetStdHandle(STD_OUTPUT_HANDLE); do{ xo = rato(x, y); if (0 <= xo && xo <= 5) { a = 1;} else cout << "CLICK AGAIN" << endl; } while (xo!=0); cout << a; return a; system("PAUSE"); }

  • C# - Dictionary with generic array as value

    - by alhazen
    In my class, I want to use a dictionary with the following declaration: Dictionary<string, T[]> Since the operations of my class are exactly the same for all generic types, I do not wish to define my class as generic (which means I would have to create a separate instance of my class for each generic type I insert into the dictionary ?). One alternative I'm attempting is to use Dictionary<string, object> instead: public void Add<T>(string str, T value) { // Assuming key already exists var array = (T[]) dictionary[str]; array[0] = value; } However, when iterating over the dictionary, how do I cast the object value back to an array ? foreach(string strKey in dictionary.Keys) { var array = (T[]) dictionary[strKey]; // How to cast here ? //... array[0] = default(T); } Thanks.

  • Writing a custom iterator -- what to do if you're at the end of the array?

    - by Goose Bumper
    I'm writing a custom iterator for a Matrix class, and I want to implement the increment method, which gets called when the iterator is incremented: void MatrixIterator::increment() { // go to the next element } Suppose the iterator has been incremented too many times and now points to past the end of the matrix (i.e. past the one-past-the-end point). What is the best practice for this situation? Should I catch this with an assert, or should I just say it's the user's responsibility to keep track of where the iterator is pointing and it's none of my business?

  • gae xmpp outbound service

    - by cometta
    currently i create xmppservlet like below public void doPost(HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse resp) throws IOException { JID jid = new JID("[email protected]"); Message msg = new MessageBuilder() .withRecipientJids(jid) .withBody("hi Hello i'm a fancy GAE app, how are you?") .build(); XMPPService xmpp = XMPPServiceFactory.getXMPPService(); SendResponse status = xmpp.sendMessage(msg); } by doing this, from [email protected], i need to send a message to [email protected] only, will [email protected] send out the message back to [email protected]. Is there anyway to programatically send out xmpp message without having [email protected] to initial chat window with [email protected] and send the first message? This should be consider outbound-service right? how to do this?

  • Hiding/Unhiding Control in Gridview’s column - shifting problem

    - by lupital
    This is a follow up to my previous question: link text In gridview's column i have a linkbutton and a label under it. I want to hide/unhide label when linkbutton is clicked. I use javascript because i don't want any postbacks. The code: protected void gvwComments_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e) { if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow) { LinkButton lButton = ((LinkButton)e.Row.Cells[2].FindControl("lbtnExpand")); Label label = ((Label)e.Row.Cells[2].FindControl("lblBody")); lButton.Attributes.Add("onclick", string.Format("HideLabel('{0}'); return false;", label.ClientID)); } } function HideLabel(button) { var rowObj = document.getElementById(button); if (rowObj.style.display == "none") { rowObj.style.display = "block"; } else { rowObj.style.display = "none"; } } The problem is that when I unhide the label by clicking on button, linkbutton is shifted a a bit upper it's original position in the cell. Is it possible to preserve linkbutton's position in the gridviews cell?

  • How to get arc4Sin() output into label/NSString

    - by Moshe
    I'm trying to take the output of arc4sin and put it into a label. (EDIT: You can ignore this and just post sample code, if this is too irrelevant.) I've tried: // Implement viewDidLoad to do additional setup after loading the view, typically from a nib. - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; NSString *number = [[NSString alloc] stringWithFormat: @"%@", arc4random() % 9]; label.text = number; } I've created an IBOutlet for "label" and connected it. What's wrong here?

  • C# Combobox and TabControl woes

    - by Jake
    enter code hereI have a TabControl on a Form and in the TabPages there are ComboBoxes. When the form OnLoad, I populate the ListItems in the ComboBoxes and the attempt to set default values to string.Empty. However, the ComboBox.SelectedText = string.Empty only works for the first TabPage. The other ComboBoxes ignore the command and take the default value as the first item in the list. Why is this so? How can I overcome it? The ComboBoxes are all set up by this function public static void PrepareComboBox(ComboBox combobox, FieldValueList list) { combobox.DropDownStyle = ComboBoxStyle.DropDown; combobox.AutoCompleteSource = AutoCompleteSource.ListItems; combobox.AutoCompleteMode = AutoCompleteMode.Suggest; combobox.DataSource = list.DataSource; combobox.DisplayMember = list.DisplayMember; combobox.ValueMember = list.ValueMember; combobox.Text = string.Empty; combobox.SelectedText = string.Empty; }

  • Avoiding duplication in JavaDoc comments

    - by TERACytE
    I am writing a class where the same xml is used between some methods. e.g. /** * Sample Response: * <xmp> * <myXML> * <stuff> data </stuff> * </myXML> * </xmp> */ CommonXML Method1(); /** * Sample Submission: * <xmp> * <myXML> * <stuff> data </stuff> * </myXML> * </xmp> */ void Method2(CommonXML xml); I would like to write my documentation so that if the xml changes I have one resource to modify, rather than updating all of the JavaDoc for the affected methods. Does anyone know how to accomplish this?

  • How can a servlet always perform the same task?

    - by membersound
    I want a Servlet to perform always the same tasks. Regardless of if it is a GET or POST. At the moment I just call the doGet() from doPost(), which works fine. Then I tried overriding the service() method, and I thought it would just work the same way. But it does not! The code somehow gets executed, but the response does not generate the webpage: response.getWriter(); response.println(string); This code works for the doGet/doPost methods, but not for the service. Why? Servlet: class MyWebServlet extends HttpServlet { @Override public void service(ServletRequest request, ServletResponse response) { response.setContentType("text/html"); PrintWriter out = response.getWriter(); String string = "teststring"; out.println(string); } }

  • INotifyPropertyChange ~ PropertyChanged not firing when property is a collection and a new item is a

    - by eponymous23
    I have a class that implements the INotifyPropertyChanged interface. Some of the properties of the class are of type List. For example: public List<string> Answers { get { return _answers; } set { _answers = value; onPropertyChanged("Answers") } } ... private void onPropertyChanged(string propertyName) { if(this.PropertyChanged != null) this.PropertyChanged(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(propertyName)); } If I assign a new List<string> to Answer, then the PropertyChanged event fires as expected; but if I add a string string to the Answer list using the List Add method, then PropertyChanged event doesn't fire. I was considering adding an AddAnswer() method to my class, which would handle calling the lists's Add method and would call onPropertyChanged() from there, but is that the right way to do it? Is there a more elegant way of doing it? Cheers, KT

  • Concatenating NSString inside of UITextView

    - by Jason
    I'm some trouble adding strings together for a UITextView in my app. The method I've been using is this (header) #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface calculatorViewController : UIViewController { IBOutlet UITextView *output; } -(IBAction)b1; @property(nonatomic, copy) NSString *output; @end (main) #import "calculatorViewController.h" @implementation calculatorViewController -(void)b1 { [output stringByAppendingString:@"hi"]; } The problem I've been having with this method is when I use the button the app crashes. The warning it gives me is 'UITextView' may not respond to '-stringByAppendingString:' When I replace output with at string it works though and that confused me. Any suggestions? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks

  • Communication between layers in an application

    - by Petar Minchev
    Hi guys! Let's assume we have the following method in the business layer. What's the best practice to tell the UI layer that something went wrong and give also the error message? Should the method return an empty String when it was OK, otherwise the error message, or should it throw another exception in the catch code wrapping the caught exception? If we choose the second variant then the UI should have another try,catch which is too much try,catch maybe. Here is a pseudocode for the first variant. public String updateSomething() { try { //Begin transaction here dataLayer.do1(); dataLayer.do2(); dataLayer.doN(); } catch(Exception exc) { //Rollback transaction code here return exc.message; } return ""; } Is this a good practice or should I throw another exception in the catch(then the method will be void)?

  • audio power on AudioQueue

    - by Tomoyuki
    Hi everyone. I'm now creating an Application using speech recognition.To check the Audio Power coming in through the microphone, I wrote a method as follows. -(void)checkPower(AudioqueRef)queue{ UInt32 expectedSize= sizeof(AudioQueueLevelMeterState); AudioQueueGetProperty(queue, kAudioQueueProperty_CurrentLevelMeter, audioLevels, expectedSize); NSLog(@"average:%f peak:%f",audioLevels.mAveragePower,audioLevels.mPeakPower); } I found that sometimes mAveragePower was larger than mPeakPower, and when mAveragePower was 1.0, in other words, averagePower is regarded as max, mPeakPower was lower than 1.0. I think that generally this result is inpossible. please Let me know if you have any information about sound power on CoreAudio. thanks.

  • How to cause bindings to be updated, particularly for derived values?

    - by rrhartjr
    I'm using some CLR objects that use the INotifyPropertyChanged interface and use the PropertyChanged function to update in WPF bindings. Pretty boilerplate: protected void RaisePropertyChanged(string propertyName) { if (PropertyChanged != null) { PropertyChanged(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(propertyName)); } } Then the property: private double m_TotalWidgets = 0; public double TotalWidgets { get { return m_TotalWidgets; } set { m_TotalWidgets = value; RaisePropertyChanged("TotalWidgets"); } } Is there a better way to update a derived value or even the whole class? Say I had a calculated value: public double ScaledWidgets { get { return TotalWidgets * CONSTANT_FACTOR; } } I would have to fire ScaledWidget's PropertyChanged when TotalWidgets is updated, eg: set { m_TotalWidgets = value; RaisePropertyChanged("TotalWidgets"); RaisePropertyChanged("ScaledWidgets"); } Is there a better way to do this? Is it possible "invalidate" the whole object, especially if there are a lot of derived values? I think it would be kind of lame to fire 100 PropertyChanged events.

If I inherit from Border everything works fine, what am I missing?

  • Drawing random circles

    - by ViktorC
    I am trying to draw a cupola circles at random positions in an Android application. I draw them on a bitmap and then draw that bitmap on the canvas. This is the function where a draw the circles: private void drawRandomCircles(int numOfCircles) { Canvas c = new Canvas(b); Paint cPaint = new Paint; cPaitn.setColor(Color.RED); for(int i = 0; i < numOfCircles; i++) { int x = Math.Random % 100; int y = Math.Random % 100; c.drawCircle(x, y, 20, cPaint) } } The Bitmap b is global. And after calling this function I just draw the bitmap in the onDraw method. Now the problem is that I only get one circle drawn on the screen, no matter the size of numOfCircles. Any clue what is happening here?
