  • Grid overlayed on image using javascript, need help getting grid coordinates.

    - by Alos
    Hi I am fairly new to javascript and could use some help, I am trying to overlay a grid on top of an image and then be able to have the user click on the grid and get the grid coordinate from the box that the user clicked. I have been working with the code from the following stackoverflow question: Creating a grid overlay over image. link text Here is the code that I have so far: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> </script> <script type="text/javascript"> var SetGrid = function(el, sz, nr, nc){ //get number of rows/columns according to the 'grid' size //numcols = el.getSize().x/sz; //numrows = el.getSize().y/sz; numcols = 48; numrows = 32; //create table element for injecting cols/rows var gridTable = new Element('table', { 'id' : 'gridTable', 'styles' : { 'width' : el.getSize().x, 'height' : el.getSize().y, 'top' : el.getCoordinates().top, 'left' : el.getCoordinates().left } }); //inject rows/cols into gridTable for (row = 1; row<=numrows; row++){ thisRow = new Element('tr', { 'id' : row, 'class' : 'gridRow' }); for(col = 1; col<=numcols; col++){ thisCol = new Element('td', { 'id' : col, 'class' : 'gridCol0' }); //each cell gets down/up over event... down starts dragging|up stops|over draws area if down was fired thisCol.addEvents({ 'mousedown' : function(){ dragFlag = true; startRow = this.getParent().get('id'); startCol = this.get('id'); }, 'mouseup' : function(){ dragFlag = false; }, 'mouseover' : function(){ if (dragFlag==true){ this.set('class', 'gridCol'+$$('#lvlSelect .on').get('value')); } }, 'click' : function(){ //this.set('class', 'gridCol'+$$('#lvlSelect .on').get('id').substr(3, 1) ); str = $$('#lvlSelect .on').get('id'); alert(str.substr(2, 3)); } }); thisCol.inject(thisRow, 'bottom'); }; thisRow.inject(gridTable, 'bottom'); }; gridTable.inject(el.getParent()); } //sens level selector func var SetSensitivitySelector = function(el, sz, nr, nc){ $$('#lvlSelect ul li').each(function(el){ el.addEvents({ 'click' : function(){ $$('#lvlSelect ul li').set('class', ''); this.set('class', 'on'); }, 'mouseover' : function(){ el.setStyle('cursor','pointer'); }, 'mouseout' : function(){ el.setStyle('cursor',''); } }); }); } //execute window.addEvent('load', function(){ SetGrid($('imagetomap'), 32); SetSensitivitySelector(); }); var gridSize = { x: 48, y: 32 }; var img = document.getElementById('imagetomap'); img.onclick = function(e) { if (!e) e = window.event; alert(Math.floor(e.offsetX/ gridSize.x) + ', ' + Math.floor(e.offsetY / gridSize.y)); } </script> <style> #imagetomapdiv { float:left; display: block; } #gridTable { border:1px solid red; border-collapse:collapse; position:absolute; z-index:5; } #gridTable td { opacity:0.2; filter:alpha(opacity=20); } #gridTable .gridCol0 { border:1px solid gray; background-color: none; } #gridTable .gridCol1 { border:1px solid gray; background-color: green; } #gridTable .gridCol2 { border:1px solid gray; background-color: blue; } #gridTable .gridCol3 { border:1px solid gray; background-color: yellow; } #gridTable .gridCol4 { border:1px solid gray; background-color: orange; } #gridTable .gridCol5 { border:1px solid gray; background-color: red; } #lvlSelect ul {float: left; display:block; position:relative; margin-left: 20px; padding: 10px; } #lvlSelect ul li { width:40px; text-align:center; display:block; border:1px solid black; position:relative; padding: 10px; list-style:none; opacity:0.2; filter:alpha(opacity=20); } #lvlSelect ul li.on { opacity:1; filter:alpha(opacity=100); } #lvlSelect ul #li0 { background-color: none; } #lvlSelect ul #li1 { background-color: green; } #lvlSelect ul #li2 { background-color: blue; } #lvlSelect ul #li3 { background-color: yellow; } #lvlSelect ul #li4 { background-color: orange; } #lvlSelect ul #li5 { background-color: red; } </style> </div> <div id="lvlSelect"> <ul> <li value="0" id="li0">0</li> <li value="1" id="li1">1</li> <li value="2" id="li2">2</li> <li value="3" id="li3">3</li> <li value="4" id="li4">4</li> <li value="5" id="li5" class="on">5</li> </ul> </div> In this example the grid box changes color when the image is grid box is clicked, but I would like to be able to have the coordinates of the box. Any help would be great. Thank you

  • SQL Server 2008 and MySQL Daily Backups

    - by Tyler
    Is there a quick and easy way to backup both SQL Server 2008 and MySQL, all their databases? Right now I have a batch script that runs, but I have to manually add a database each and every time, and I'm sick of maintaining it. So I want to set it up to backup all SQL Server and then all MySQL, I dont care if its two different solutions, just want the ability to backup all the databases without having to type them in. Thank you.

  • Monitoring DOM Changes in JQuery

    - by user363866
    Is there a way to detect when the disabled attribute of an input changes in JQuery. I want to toggle the style based on the value. I can copy/paste the same enable/disable code for each change event (as I did below) but I was looking for a more generic approach. Can I create a custom event that will monitor the disabled attribute of specified inputs? Example: <style type="text/css">.disabled{ background-color:#dcdcdc; }</style> <fieldset> <legend>Option 1</legend> <input type="radio" name="Group1" id="Radio1" value="Yes" />Yes <input type="radio" name="Group1" id="Radio2" value="No" checked="checked" />No <div id="Group1Fields" style="margin-left: 20px;"> Percentage 1: <input type="text" id="Percentage1" disabled="disabled" /><br /> Percentage 2: <input type="text" id="Percentage2" disabled="disabled" /><br /> </div> </fieldset> <fieldset> <legend>Option 2</legend> <input type="radio" name="Group2" id="Radio3" value="Yes" checked="checked" />Yes <input type="radio" name="Group2" id="Radio4" value="No" />No <div id="Group2Fields" style="margin-left: 20px;"> Percentage 1: <input type="text" id="Text1" /><br /> Percentage 2: <input type="text" id="Text2" /><br /> </div> </fieldset> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { //apply disabled style to all disabled controls $("input:disabled").addClass("disabled"); $("input[name='Group1']").change(function () { var disabled = ($(this).val() == "No") ? "disabled" : ""; $("#Group1Fields input").attr("disabled", disabled); //apply disabled style to all disabled controls $("input:disabled").addClass("disabled"); //remove disabled style to all enabled controls $("input:not(:disabled)").removeClass("disabled"); }); $("input[name='Group2']").change(function () { var disabled = ($(this).val() == "No") ? "disabled" : ""; $("#Group2Fields input").attr("disabled", disabled); //apply disabled style to all disabled controls $("input:disabled").addClass("disabled"); //remove disabled style to all enabled controls $("input:not(:disabled)").removeClass("disabled"); }); }); </script>

  • Ruby in DOS CLI, How to do?

    - by Daniel
    I see in a lot of the tutorials and how to pages, they use the following, or something similar ruby C:\test.rb Which would parse test.rb to the interpreter and ... execute the script. But how is this done a on a windows? Ruby isn't a recognized internal command (as per the DOS output)? I know how to do all these things on Linux, and its as simple as... alas Windows is completely confusing at times :)

  • How to unit test chrome extensions?

    - by swampsjohn
    Is there a good way to do this? I'm writing an extension that interacts with a website as a content script and saves data using localstorage. Are there any tools, frameworks, etc. that I can use to test this behavior? I realize there are some generic tools for testing javascript, but are those sufficiently power to test an extension?

  • Moving files between Windows computers without creating network shares

    - by mavnn
    What's needed: To move several directories between two Windows 2008 servers on a regular basis. Due to security requirements, neither server is supposed to have network shares set up or extraneous software installed. What's available: Administrator access to both machines (including remote desktop access if that helps). A third machine with: Visual Studio 2010 Cygwin Bonus extras The script that does the rest of the work (apart from moving the files) is currently written in F#, but any .net/command line based solution would be fine.

  • Git command to display HEAD commit id?

    - by Andrew Arnott
    What command can I use to print out the commit id of HEAD? This is what I'm doing by hand: $ cat .git/HEAD ref: refs/heads/v3.3 $ cat .git/refs/heads/v3.3 6050732e725c68b83c35c873ff8808dff1c406e1 But I need a script that can reliably pipe the output of some command to a text file such that the text file contains exactly the commit id of HEAD (nothing more or less, and not just a ref). Can anyone help?

  • Using JavaScript to parse an XML file

    - by Chris Clouten
    I am new to Stack OverFlow and coding in general. I am trying to take an XML file and render it in the browser using JavaScript. I have looked around at some sample code of how to do this and came up with the following code: <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <body> <script> if (window.XMLHttpRequest) {// code for IE7+, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest(); } else {// code for IE6, IE5 xmlhttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); } xmlhttp.open("GET","social.xml",false); xmlhttp.send(); xmlDoc=xmlhttp.responseXML; document.write("<table border='1'>"); var x=xmlDoc.getElementsByTagName("CD"); for (i=0;i<x.length;i++) { document.write("<tr><td>"); document.write(x[i].getElementsByTagName("c_id")[0].childNodes[0].nodeValue); document.write("</td><td>"); document.write(x[i].getElementsByTagName("facebook_id")[0].childNodes[0].nodeValue); document.write("</td></tr>"); } document.write("</table>"); </script> </body> </html> Anyway, when I run this on my local server none of the data that I am trying to display in the table appears. My .html file and .xml file are in the same folder, so I believe I have the correct file pathway. I could just be making a rookie mistake here, but I can't for the life of me figure out why a table listing the c_id and facebook_id values is not being created. I looked around for answers and haven't been able to find any. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
