    Hi, i want to get the domain extention (at least i hope it is called this way) from the site name the user is currently on. so from www.bbc.co.uk it's co.uk and www.google.com = .com http://stackoverflow.com/questions/ask = .com etc. especially the ones with the double name (like co.uk) gives me headaches....

  • Network.downloadfile is very slow

    I have tried using the My.Computer.Network.DownloadFile method but unfortunately it is slow. Executing the simple command below takes ~5-10 secs, which I would say is a lot longer than expected for downloading a 9 kb file. `My.Computer.Network.DownloadFile("http://www.google.dk", "j:\temp\test.html")` I am connecting via a high-speed connection (10GB) from a Win7 machine. Do anyone know of any explanations for this behavior? Hope that you can help me out with this. Kristoffer

    My XP machine has become terribly slow and I want to identify the application at fault. It seems to be related to disk access rather than processor hogging. I can look at the task manager to get a good idea but it's not ideal. I was wondering if there was some application that can monitor all aspects of processes effectively. Is Process Explorer my only hope?

    I am trying to design the standards and patterns for implementing portlets/web gadgets with the main goal of maximizing interoperability if those components were hosted in a Java app server framework or within an existing ASP.NET technology (SharePoint webparts), or a client side-only framework. Is there any guidance anywhere of the parts of different portlet standards that are shared between most portal frameworks? Is the best I can hope for is to adhere to the JSR 168 and 286 standards and hitch my wagon to Java?

I have an link which animates some div-s height when its hovered... but div has big height and it goes beyond the visible bottom end of the screen so i have to scroll to see the data and when i scroll I leave the hover area and so the div toggles it's height to 0px... how to make automatic scroll to the end of the div when it toggles...     I hope this is still programming related, as SuperUser doesn't seem the appropriate place. Basically I wonder if it is possible to have Applications that are internal to a company on the iPhone? That is something like a companion Application to an Intranet (when Safari and Mail just don't cut it) which wouldn't make sense on the AppStore (and likely wouldn't get approved anyway). Is something like that possible (without Jailbreaking or doing anything else that Apple doesn't normally want)?
