  • How to view status of software RAID 1 resynching?

    I have two 500 GB disks and yesterday I mirrored first drive to the second one using software RAID 1. PC has now been on for 30 hours. Both disks say "Resynching", but there is no progress indicator. In addition, there is a small yellow exclamation mark on both disks. My questions are: How long could the synch take for 500 GB drive with about 150 GB of data? PC has 4 GBs of RAM and AMD dual core 4000+ Is there a way to monitor status of the synching? How can I check what the exclamation mark means?

  • What's static.ak.fbcdn.net that appears on the status bar of my browser everytime Facebook is loading?

    I find the message: "waiting for static.ak.fbcdn.net..." on the status bar of my browser everytime I load Facebook and many a times even while loading other websites. I searched on net and found out that static.ak.fbcdn.net stands for static akamai facebook content delivery network. I reckon that static.ak.fbcdn.net is the server URL from where Facebook delivers contents to our browser. Am I right? Can anyone elaborate? Also, why does the above mentioned message appear while loading other websites too?

  • Show Slave Status not working from console, nor client.

    Hello, I have a somewhat strange case. Whenever one of my coworkers executes this line: show slave status; from their MySQL clients, it works smoothly. But if I do that, it says: ERROR 1227 (42000): Access denied; you need the SUPER,REPLICATION CLIENT privilege for this operation We are all going against the same database, and if I check privileges I can see: GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON . TO 'usermysql'@'%' IDENTIFIED BY PASSWORD 'password' There's something wrong with my computer.. but I can't pinpoint where it is.. Thanks EDIT: It's kinda bizarre.. it goes through a VPN remotely. But if I change the internet connection, then it works.. If the previous internet connection is restored, it doesn't.. Could we classify this among the great mysteries of the world? Or someone has an idea?

  • MySQL simple replication problem: 'show master status' produces 'Empty set'?

    I've been setting up MySQL master replication (on Debian 6.0.1) following these instructions faithfully: http://www.neocodesoftware.com/replication/ I've got as far as: mysql > show master status; but this is unfortunately producing the following, rather than any useful output: Empty set (0.00 sec) The error log at /var/log/mysql.err is just an empty file, so that's not giving me any clues. Any ideas? This is what I have put in /etc/mysql/my.cnf on one server (amended appropriately for the other server): server-id = 1 replicate-same-server-id = 0 auto-increment-increment = 2 auto-increment-offset = 1 master-host = 10.0.0.3 master-user = <myusername> master-password = <mypass> master-connect-retry = 60 replicate-do-db = fruit log-bin = /var/log/mysql-replication.log binlog-do-db = fruit And I have set up users and can connect from MySQL on Server A to the database on Server B using the username/password/ipaddress above.

Example: Consider I am waiting to buy a new latest movie ticket online (through) and the ticket booking has not been informed properly (online booking is opening at a random time).   • jQuery AJAX see redirect as status 200 not 302?

    I am using jQuery and the jQuery.form plugin to submit my form (also using ASP.Net MVC). Problem is the user is in a section of the site that uses forms authentication and if their auth cookie expires during their time on the page instead of getting back a status of 302, which would be the redirect to the login page, I still get 200? In FireBug I see the 302 Found and then my login page is served next as a 200 which is the status code sent back to my Ajax call. How do I detect that they have been logged out if I never see the 302 sent back to the jQuery form plugin?

(based on this answer) I already have the mechanism how to catch an invalid route and the custom 404 page is served by my ErrorController/Handle404 action. My current implementation of Handle404: public ActionResult Handle404() { Response.StatusCode = 404; return View("NotFound"); } Currently, IIS serves the page as 404 - File or directory not found. The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. (the standard IIS page, not my user friendly content) How can I include the 404 status code in the result served by the Handle404 action while still serving the content?

  • Stringtemplate: is it ok to Apply Templates, in which HashMap uses, To Multi-Valued Attributes

    There is two template in my .stg file, and both of them apply on multi-value a HashMap. The HashMap is employed as an injected object. And I need those instance of HashMap can be injected for many times. My trouble is, when I switch to another template, ANTLR seems to consider the second HashMap as a List -- multipul objects and null value.     Hi, We have a created a subsite to the SharePoint 2010 Mysite (used blank site) called "home". This site uses the mysite.master master page. The problem is the top link (navigation) bar from MySite is not showing up on the subsite... Any ideas? If I open the home site in Share Point Designer - the navigation bar does show up... But not in the browser... Any help would be greatly appreciated! Terry

  • What should I be doing while I wait for a progress bar?

    So I am sitting here waiting for a progress bar to run (20 mins or so), and was wondering how best to use my time as a SysAdmin. I debated not posting this question briefly, as this could get flagged as subjective, but I think it's an important question, and a question that can be legitimately answered (per the FAQ) I know this something a lot of sys admins deal with, especially if they are client-based I would venture to guess. There is a lot of material out there about how to multi task, but SysAdmin work is unique in this area as well. I could switch over to another project, but I could get wrapped up in that, and forget about the original project I was working on, and that's hard if you are billing a client for your time, both for tracking your time, as well as being fair to that client. I could check ServerFault, but that isn't directly work related, I could sort my email, so on and so forth. What do you do, or what should I do when I have time waiting for a progress bar? Thanks!     Yes, I know the following code does not work in IE. I know IE expects me to use XDomainRequest() instead. I don't care about that. This is firefox only. I'm trying to do a cross-domain web request in firefox javascript. I keep getting a status of 0.   • Facebook Graph API: Feed publishing showing up as link type instead of status?

    So I'm publishing to a Facebook Group's Feed in my app, using the Graph API. It works fine, except facebook keeps treating the published info as a 'link' feed item type instead of 'status' like it does when I enter the same from facebook's site. eg: string url = "https://graph.facebook.com/<id-of-group/feed?access_token=<access-token>"; string data = "message=hello"; webClient.UploadString(url, "POST", data); Now when I pull the feed items, the json that is returned has "item":"link", with "link":"http://www.facebook.com", whereas I'd expect it to be "item":"status" and no or an empty "link" property. Any ideas?

  • Is it possible to provide a resize indication (resizer-grip) on a form without adding a status bar?

    I would like to have a resize indication on a windows forms Form (the same resize-grip as when you have a status bar). I do not want to add a status bar to the form - that would break the design of the form. The form can have various controls inside that are docked (Fill). I have not found any solution to this besides drawing the resize indication in lower right corner of every control, which is not very feasible. Is this possible without adding a picture of the resize grip to every control that can be docked in the form?

My problem is that the tab is using window's icon for unknown file-type, I tried with Icon property of Window, Icon gets assigned but still problem is when I run application, task bar Tab initially displays window's icon for unknown file-type and when window-load completes it changes to the Icon assigned. I want Icon there from beginning. Any help?

  • Iframe covers navigation bar, needs close, open to fix?

When I put invalid input inside the form, the iframe covers up the navigation bar and I can't get the navigation bar back without closing and opening the page again.     So, for instance facebook's search bar has faint word that says "search", but when you click on the bar, it becomes blank and you may begin typing, when you click away the "search" goes back. Similarly, SO's ask a question title box has faint words that go away when you start typing. I'm not too sure what this effect is called, but I'm wondering if theres a jQuery plugin that helps to achieve this. This isn't particularly difficult to program, but I thought why reinvent the wheel if someone already made a plugin for it.
