• Handling click events on z-index'd layers

  I have 2 z-index layers in a map application I'm building. I have a problem when I click on the layers to zoom in. The click handler is on the underlying z-index layer and I don't want it to fire when a control in the overlying layer is clicked. The problem i have is that the event gets raised no matter what but the originalTarget property of the event is not the image in the underlying layer when something on the top layer is clicked. Is there anyway to change this?

  When configuring a Settings.bundle as part of an iPhone application bundle, it's trivial to add minimum and maximum value images to sliders (PSSliderSpecifier), but not simple maximum and minimum text labels. http://developer.apple.com/iPhone/library/documentation/PreferenceSettings/Conceptual/SettingsApplicationSchemaReference/Articles/PSSliderSpecifier.html iPhone gurus: Is anyone aware of a simple means to apply text labels to these sliders for use within the Settings application (therefore, no slider subclassing shenanigans; it all has to be done via a plist)? I suppose I could just use an image of the label but...ew. Bonus points if there's a way to show the current value of a slider in some sort of number format.

• ImageView Force closes my application

  Hi there I am really a beginner, and I have been fighting with this problem for 3 days. :( I am able to get an image to show using a grid view and an adapter as in the grid view tutorial, but I wanted to be able to just use ImageView in the xml. public class HelloImage extends Activity { public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); ImageView gridview = (ImageView) findViewById(R.id.gridview); gridview.setLayoutParams(new GridView.LayoutParams(85, 85)); gridview.setScaleType(ImageView.ScaleType.CENTER_CROP); gridview.setPadding(8, 8, 8, 8); gridview.setImageResource(R.drawable.hand_tool); } } When I run this it causes the app to force close when loading.

• Need complete picture of virtual adress space

  Hello, This image gives a good picture about Virtual Adress space. But it only says half of the story. It only gives complete picture of User Adress space ie.. lower 50% (or 75% in some cases). What about the rest 50% (or 25%) which is occupied by the kernel. I know kernel also has so many different things like kernel modules , device drivers, core kernel itself. There must be some kind of layout right? What is its layout? If you say its Operating System dependent. I would say, there are two major operating systems Windows & Linux. Please give answer for any one these.

  I have a table that stores RDF triples: triples(triple_id, sub_id, pre_id, obj_id) The method (I need to write) will receive an array of numbers which correspond to pre_id values. I want to select all sub_id values that have a corresponding pre_id for all the pre_ids in the array that is passed in. E.g. if I had a single pre_id values passed in... lets call the value passed in preId, I would do: select sub_id from triples where pre_id=preId; However since I have mutliple pre_id values I want to keep iterating through the pre_id values and only keep the sub_id values corresponding to the "triples" records that have both. E.g. image there are five records: triples(1, 34,65,23) triples(2, 31,35,28) triples(3, 32,32,19) triples(4, 12,65,28) triples(5, 76,32,34) If I pass in an array of pre_id values [65,32] then I want to select the first, third, fourth and fifth records. What would I do for that?

  Hi, i would like to add an image that acts like a border after every list in the sidebar. I knew it has something to do with this #sidebar h2 { border-bottom: 1px solid #d6d6d6; } since i tried that code and a border appeared. But what i wanted is a picture, i could do that with in the posts with: .TitleBorder { background: url(images/border.png) repeat-x; height: 3px; width: 615px; } and <div class="TitleBorder"></div> but in sidebar, i can't do that. Any help?

• How to make a div expand vertically to wrpa the content within it?

  I have a div which wraps a number of images that are generated dynamically. I don't know how high the list of images is. My problem is the div that contains the dynamically generated images doesn't behave like it is housing any content - I want it to extend to the height of the list of images. Each image is itself wrapped in a div. This is the wrapper div: .block { padding:10px; margin-top:10px; height:auto; background-color:#f9f9f9; } This is the markup dynamically generated for (one of) the images: <div class="block"> <div style="float: left; padding: 2px 2px 2px 2px;"><IMG SRC="45.jpg" BORDER="0"/></div> ..... • Get name and value from the input tag

  Before you say "oh no, not again" here I'm stating my case. I'm parsing part of HTML output and the only thing I'm interested in is name and value attributes of each <input/ tag. HTML is actually HTML fragment, may not be well-formed. I don't have DOM or HTML parser and I don't try to parse nested elements anyway. The problem is that I don't know the order or number of attributes so it could be <input name="foo" value="boo"/> or <input type="hidden" name=foo> or <input id=blah value='boo' src="image.png" name="foo" type="img"/>. Is there a single regular expression that would get me values of name and value attribute in predictable order? I wouldn't have asked the question if I could assume that name attribute always precedes value but unfortunately this is not the case

Currently I am receiving an "undeclared" error in touchesMoved where I set the new location for theImageView. • Not enough storage is available to complete this operation - Program or Storage memory?

  I've been given a Windows Mobile app written in .Net CF 3.5 to fix, and one of the problems is to do with storage. The message 'Not enough storage is available to complete this operation' has appeared a few times - it's logged in the SQL CE database, and always happens during data access (but not the same bit of data access). The thing I'm slightly confused about is whether this refers to Program Memory (e.g. RAM) or Storage Memory (e..g permanent storage). It would appear to be storage memory, but the devices seem to have plenty free. While there are some OutOfMemoryExceptions, these appear totally unrelated to this problem (in that that happen at a different time due to an image-related issue). We're using SQL CE 3.5 with a single connection, which is stored along with the app on the device (as opposed to the storage card). The device is a Motorola MC75 running Windows Mobile 6.1. Any thoughts?

  I'm creating some pagination for my website, and want to use an input-element to navigate between pages. Like the following example: The input would require the "return" key to be hit for the script to trigger. If the value entered is not within range and alert would trigger. e.g. If there was 32 pages, "Please enter a value between 1 and 32" Can this be done using jQuery or javascript, by detecting the value change within the range of pages and redirecting to that page? • How to play a set of jpeg files as a movie?

  I have a set of jpeg images where eacg image has an associated description. e.g. im1.jpg - suspect enters bank im7.jpg - suspect hands teller a note imj41.jpg - teller gives suspect a bag ... ... It's trivial to view these images individually and see the description but how do I play this as a movie? I need to play the images and when I encounter one with a description, display the description in a status pane. Do I need to convert the images into a movie, if so how? How do I get the player to notify me when the description frame is encountered? I'm using Windows. language doesn't matter, I just need the concept right now.

  Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could tell me of a free CMS that will allow me to change the basic content (text, image etc etc) of a website, without forcing it's own templates or designs. This is the scenario; I have already designed my website, already implemented it, and I just need a way for the actual User to edit the contents of the pages. I've looked into Drupal and Joomla, and the hosted ones such as CushyCMS (I liked the way this worked) and SimpleCMS, however I am a bit wary of hosted CMS systems... Any ideas??

My application is hosted at //[my_domain]/[some_param]/index I am setting the title, description and the image url to be displayed on facebook in the meta tags of the page found at the above mentioned url. when i share the link facebook generates the following message to share: [some_img] [some_title] http://[my_domain]/[some_param]/index [some_message] What i need to do is either hide or change this url "http://[my_domain]/[some_param]/index" that is shown by default, since i do not want the users to see this. • Put Raphael (SVG) canvas behind other divisions to make them clickable?

  I am using Raphael to create lines between divisions in an organization chart (or flow chart), but I need to be able to actually click on the divisions and content behind it. If I could make the canvas be behind the other elements, kind of like a background image, that would be idea. Is this possible? UPDATE: I found a solution. Raphael makes an SVG canvas that is absolutely positioned in my case. Absolute positions act as layers, and so to be on top of that layer, my content had to be absolutely positioned as well. If someone else has a better solution, I would be happy to hear it, though this is working fine.

• Email marketing campaigns [closed]

  We're working on building an email marketing campaign for our company and once again, my boss (designer) and I (developer) are butting heads... She wants to create one big image for each of these emails and I'm trying to steer her towards using the traditional header-content-footer method so the text within the content will be viewable when images are blocked. • php most memory efficient way to return files

  so i have a bunch of files, some can be up to 30-40mb and i want to use php to handle security of the files, so i can control who has access to them that means i have a script sort of like this rough example $has_permission = check_database_for_permission($user, filename); if ($has_permission) { header('Content-Type: image/jpeg'); readfile ($filename); exit; } else { // return 401 error } i would hate for every request to load the full file into memory, as it would soon chew up all the memory on my server with a few simultaneous requests so a couple of questions is readfile the most memory efficient way of doing this? is there some better method of achieving the same outcome, that i am overlooking? server: apache/php5 thanks

• iPhone Application and programming Updates

  Hi When a user logs into my iPhone App. I store their userID and relevant information in [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]. This way they are not required to log in each time they access my application. When my application is live in the app store and I make updates to the code will this information be lost - will they then be required to log in? If so how do I go about preserving this information when I make updates? And while I can't image this happening but should a user choose to delete my application after they have installed it - how would I know that they have deleted it? I am using the push notifications and would like to flag the user as not being active so that I don't keep pushing out notifications to them. Thanks Very Much Cheryl

I don't think to split Visitors to two tables like Impressions and Click is a good idea because again i would need to have Visitors with two more tables thanks
