• Javascript conflict on my html page

  Hello, I have an accordion menu and a lightwindow script on my web page. The lightwindow script does not work because of the accordion script because if I delete the latter the lightwindow script works. There must be a conflict but what?   Hello, From a MySQL table called "submission" containing the fields "loginid, submissionid, title, url, datesubmitted, displayurl", I would like to print an HTML table thats contains all "title" and corresponding "datesubmitted" where "loginid" equals "$profile." Either way, I'm currently SOL. :) I want to be able to use an extension method to set properties on a class, but that class may (or may not) be updated on a non-UI thread, and derives from a class the enforces updates to be on the UI thread (which implements INotifyPropertyChanged, etc). • Ruby on Rails - Static page as start page

  Hello! I am developing an app in RoR which has static and dynamic parts. The static portion is placed in the public/ folder of the app. Now if i have an index.html in my public folder then i will not be able to use the routes configured in my routes.rb The default configurations like map.connect /:controller/:action will not be usable if i have an index.html. So i removed the index html. Now i have a static page startpage.html in my public/ folder which has to be the starting page of the app. And the i have links in it for other static/dynamic pages. The RoR app is hosted in apache and i tried to configure the Virtual Host configuration by adding the DirectoryIndex param so that when ever a request comes for the site it will direct it to the startpage.html but still it takes me to the default controller that i have specified in routes.rb with map.root I dont want to add a dummy controller and action and create a view which has the startpage and configure routes.rb to use it as the root. What i am looking to do here is Basically startpage.html should be my first page in the app served as a static page from the public/ folder. This will then have links to other pages and controllers/actions Here i am not able to apache to redirect to the html page instead of passing on the control to rails application. Directory listing is also enabled by using Options Indexes but still no change. Any pointers anyone?

• Sql serve Full Text Search with Containstable is very slow when Used in JOIN!

  Hello, I am using sql 2008 full text search and I am having serious issues with performance depending on how I use Contains or ContainsTable. Here are sample: (table one has about 5000 records and there is a covered index on table1 which has all the fields in the where clause. I tried to simplify the statements so forgive me if there is syntax issues.) Scenario 1: select * from table1 as t1 where t1.field1=90 and t1.field2='something' and Exists(select top 1 * from containstable(table1,*, 'something') as t2 where t2.[key]=t1.id) results: 10 second (very slow) Scenario 2: select * from table1 as t1 join containstable(table1,*, 'something') as t2 on t2.[key] = t1.id where t1.field1=90 and t1.field2='something' results: 10 second (very slow) Scenario 3: Declare @tbl Table(id uniqueidentifier primary key) insert into @tbl select {key] from containstable(table1,*, 'something') select * from table1 as t1 where t1.field1=90 and t1.field2='something' and Exists(select id from @tbl as tbl where id=req1.id) results: fraction of a second (super fast) Bottom line, it seems if I use Containstable in any kind of join or where clause condition of a select statement that also has other conditions, the performance is really bad. In addition if you look at profiler, the number of reads from the database goes to the roof. But if I first do the full text search and put results in a table variable and use that variable everything goes super fast. The number of reads are also much lower. It seems in "bad" scenarios, somehow it gets stuck in a loop which causes it to read many times from teh database but of course I don't understant why. Now the question is first of all whyis that happening? and question two is that how scalable table variables are? what if it results to 10s of thousands of records? is it still going to be fast. Here's my problem: I have 2 functions f1(x)=14.*x*exp(x-2)-12.*exp(x-2)-7.*x.^3+20.*x.^2-26.*x+12 f2(x)=54.*x.^6+45.*x.^5-102.*x.^4-69.*x.^3+35.*x.^2+16.*x-4 Make the graph for those 2, the first one in [0,3] and the 2nd one in [-2,2]. Find the 3 roots with accuracy of 6 decimal digits using a) bisection ,b) newton,c)secant.For each root find the number of iterations that have been made. For Newton-Raphson, find which roots have quadratic congruence and which don't. What is the main common thing that roots with no quadratic congruence (Newton's method)? Why ? Excuse me if i ask silly things, but i'm asked to do this with no Matlab courses and I'm trying to learn it myself. There are many issues i have with this exercise . Questions : 1.I only see 2 roots in the graph for the f1 function and 4-5 (?) roots for the function f2 and not 3 roots as the exercise says. • Avoiding CheckStyle magic number errors in JDBC queries.

  Hello, I am working on a group project for class and we are trying out CheckStyle. I am fairly comfortable with Java but have never touched JDBC or done any database work before this. I was wondering if there is an elegant way to avoid magic number errors in preparedStatement calls, consider: preparedStatement = connect.prepareStatement("INSERT INTO shows " + "(showid, showtitle, showinfo, genre, youtube)" + "values (default, ?, ?, ?, ?);"); preparedStatement.setString(1, title); preparedStatement.setString(2, info); preparedStatement.setString(3, genre); preparedStatement.setString(4, youtube); result = preparedStatement.executeUpdate(); The setString methods get flagged as magic numbers, so far I just added the numbers 3-10 or so to the ignore list for magic numbers but I was wondering if there was a better way to go about inserting those values into the statement. I also beg you for any other advice that comes to mind seeing that code, I'd like to avoid developing any nasty habits, e.g. should I be using Statement or is PreparedStatement fine? Will that let me refer to column names instead? Is that ideal? etc... Thanks!

• osCommerce custom PHP page

  Hello! One of my client has an old osCommerce website and while working on it I have to implement what I would call "custom php page", i.e. a page which query a MySQL table, not related to osCommerce, and list the result. I'm not sure of the version, this trick I have seen a lot didn't gave me any result : http://www.clubosc.com/how-to-know-what-version-of-oscommerce-you-are-using.html . And I'm having a hard time doing this seemingly simple task, since osCommerce doesn't allow any php code in the page creation, and I didn't find any module giving me this possibility (not that it is easy to search in this mess : http://addons.oscommerce.com/). At this point I figured it would be easier to just hack'n slash through the code and come up with a custom page : I copied the index.php (the entry point in the application) : <?php require('includes/application_top.php'); if(!$smarty->is_cached($sContentPage, $sCachingGroup)) { //we switch on the content recognition require('includes/pages/' . $sContentClass . But alas, all of this curious and dubious code simply return me the home page. So here I am, is there an osCommerce Guru around here, or would anyone has a better idea (oh and I also posted on the osCommerce forum, but I'm still waiting for a response...)?   Hello, i have got 2 GUIs and 2 Controllers 1 is called landscapeguicontroller and the second is called highguicontroller. Now generally i call the highguicontroller, and when i rotate my iphone it detects that and then it shows the landscapeguicontroller: Code: landscapeguicontroller *neu =[[landscapeguicontroller alloc] initWithNibName:nil bundle:nil]; [self presentModalViewController:neu animated:YES]; [self dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES]; The Problem is that then the animation pushes the new window from the beyond side of the iphone up into the window. In the Landscapeguicontroller,i have added to the the following lines: Code: (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation { return (interfaceOrientation == UIInterfaceOrientationPortrait); } when i want go back to the highguicontroller i call: [self dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES]; that all works , but just in the second animation i see the correct "rotation animation". Have you got any suggestions? So a short Problem description: in the 1. animation from high to landscape, the landscape is pushed into the window BUT in the 2. animation from landscape to high, the rotation looks like a real rotation... i want the 1.animation look like the 2. animation best regards Ploetzeneder

• Is there a programming toolkit for converting "any file type" to a TIFF image?

  Hello, I've written several variations of a program. The purpose of the program is to convert "any file type" to a TIFF image represenation of that file, as if it were being printed using a printer. I'm currently using a third party printer driver that I send files to, and it outputs a TIFF image. This is nice, but it requires me to use Office Interop files, and interact with each individual processing application in order to print the files. I had previously tried a toolkit, called Apose .NET, which did not rely on Office Interop, and did not require any printer driver. It did the conversion all on its own and would create a TIFF image. The problem with Aspose .NET was that it did not support a wide variety of input file types. Most notably, it can't do Visio files. My project calls for the ability to create a TIFF image for virtually "any file type". (excluding exes, music files, and stuff) I know that finding something that handles literally any file type is probably not a very feasible task, so I figure if it can at least handle all the Office file types, Adobe types, and other major standard file types, then I can write a custom extension parsing module that uses those processing applications to do the printing of any file type that can be viewed using those applications. So, does anyone know of a toolkit that can do this? Preferably one that does not rely on Office or a printer driver. It does not have to be free, or open source. Or, if you know of an amazing printer driver that does this, I'm open to that too. Thanks in advance, Ryan

• AStar in a specific case in C#

  Hello. To an intership, I have use the A* algorithm in the following case : the unit shape is a square of height and width of 1, we can travel from a zone represented by a rectangle from another, but we can't travel outside these predifined areas, we can go from a rectangle to another through a door, represented by a segment on corresponding square edge. Here are the 2 things I already did but which didn't satisfied my boss : 1 : I created the following classes : -a Door class which contains the location of the 2 separated squares and the door's orientation (top, left, bottom, right), -a Map class which contains a door list, a rectangle list representing the walkable areas and a 2D array representing the ground's squares (for additionnal infomations through an enumeration) - classes for the A* algorithm (node, AStar) 2 : -a MapCase class, which contains information about the case effect and doors through an enumeration (with [FLAGS] attribute set on, to be able to cummulate several information on each case) -a Map classes which only contains a 2D array of MapCase classes - the classes for the A* algorithm (still node an AStar). Since the 2 version is better than the first (less useless calculation, better map classes architecture), my boss is not still satisfied about my mapping classes architecture. The A* and node classes are good and easily mainainable, so I don't think I have to explain them deeper for now. So here is my asking : has somebody a good idea to implement the A* with the problem specification (rectangle walkable but with a square unit area, travelling through doors)? He said that a grid vision of the problem (so a 2D array) shouldn't be the correct way to solve the problem. I wish I've been clear while exposing my problem .. Thanks KiTe

  Hello, I have an issue creating a custom report for an e-commerce store running on osCommerce. The client wants the report to have the following columns: Date, Order ID, Product Class, Product Price, Product Tax, Shipping, Order Total The criteria for generating the report are Date Range and Product Class (Textbooks for example) The client wants the report to list each Textbook purchased on its own line. Orders with multiple textbooks would display a separate line for each Textbook in the order. I have it all working except for one part: the shipping amount is order-specific (based on the order total), not product-specific, and is displaying for each product. I need it to display only for the first product of each order, so it is not counted more than once. I have one grid_test.php (that creates jqgrid) and index_grid.php (just to display grid.php). jQGrid in grid.php have custom button named 'Prikazi'. I want the user to select one row from that grid and when press custom button 'Prikazi' to redirect to another page to show subgrid (and to pass parameter which is the id of the selected row). Subgrid is in the file detail_test.php and also I have file called index_detail.php (for displaying the file detail_test.php with jqgrid). These php files communicate by passing parameter id_reda (or id) that is id of the selected row in grid_test.php. I have tried many ways to achieve that but I wasn't able. Subgrid php file (detail_test.php) receives that parameter but when I add that to sql statement in subgrid file it shows next error: Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'PDOException' with message 'SQLSTATE[42000]: Syntax error or access violation: 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'LIMIT 0, 0' at line 16' in C:\Zend\Apache2\htdocs\jqSuitePHP3811SourceRadna\php\jqGridPdo.php:62 I really don't know what am I doing wrong. Maybe the passing of parameter is wrong and maybe subgrid can't create colModel properly. Or it has something to do with sql statements. Actually my work was based on one of your examples masterdetail, but I wanted to have master grid on one page and when user clicks custom button, goes to another page with detail grid. • Problem with ImageButton.setVisibility()

  Hello guys! I'm having a problem when setting the visibility of two image buttons one on top of the other. The idea is to implement a play/pause control. The problem is that the only part where setting the visibility actually works is in the click listeners of the buttons. If I try to change it somewhere else nothing happens. Any idea why is this happening? As the list is zero, the calling thread will be "waited" From my understanding I have now a deadlock situation, as I will have no chance of ever enquing an object (from an nother thread), as the "dequeue" method is not yet finised and the dequeue "method" holds the lock on this: So I will never ever get the possibility to call "enequeue" as I will not get the "this" lock. Backround: I have exactly the same problem: I have some kind of connection pool (List of Connections) and need to block if all connections are checked. • CSS absolute DIV causing other absolute DIV problems

  Hello, I have implemented a chat script which requires an absolutely positioned DIV to be wrapped around the pages content. This is to ensure the chat windows stay at the bottom. The problem is that because of the absolute positioning of this main wrapper, all other absolutely positioned elements (eg. Jquery Auto-completes, datepicker's etc) now scroll up and down with the page.   Hello, I am working with JPA and I would like to persist an object (Action) composed of an object (Domain). Class> isd.pacepersistence.common.Domain Primary Key> [8] How can I persist my Action and automatically persist a Domain if it does not exist?
