  • Jquery Validation Central Message Many Errors

    - by Iamjon
    Hi everyone, I have a form that is being valdated with the Jquery Validation Plugin. I have managed to get a centeral message "Please Recheck the form", and to have the input focus on the first error. To get this, I had to override the default message of each of the errors. I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out how I can have it display the error message associated with the first error input instead of a general error message. Here is the code: $("#Help-A-Noobie-Form" ).validate({ invalidHandler: function(form, validator) { $(this).find(":input.error:first").focus(); var message = 'Please Recheck The Form' ; $("#Help-A-Noobie-Form #Message p").addClass('red').html(message); }, showErrors: function(errorMap, errorList) { this.defaultShowErrors(); }, rules: { required:true, email: {email:true}, phone: {digits:true} }, messages: { email: "", phone: "", lastname: "", firstname: "", required:"" } })

  • VB.NET logical expression evaluator

    - by Tim
    I need to test a logical expression held in a string to see if it evaluate to TRUE or FALSE.(the strig is built dynamically) For example the resulting string may contain "'dog'<'cat' OR (14 AND 4<6)". There are no variables in the string, it will logically evaluate. It will only contain simple operators = < < = <= and AND , OR and Open and Close Brackets, string constants and numbers. (converted to correct syntax && || etc.) I currently acheive this by creating a jscipt function and compiling it into a .dll. I then reference the .dll in my VB.NET project. class ExpressionEvaluator { function Evaluate(Expression : String) { return eval(Expression); } } Is there a simpler method using built in .NET functions or Lamdba expressions.

  • jQuery.Form wont submit

    - by kim
    Im´trying to submit a form without refreshing the page, but I´m having a problem. When I click submit the page refreshes and anothing gets posted. Here is the code, what am I doing wrong? (I´m a newbie) jQuery 1.4.2 and the jQuery Form Plugin 2.43 is present. tnx $(document).ready(function() { var options = { target: '#output2', url: https://graph.facebook.com/<%=fbUid%>/feed, type: post, clearForm: true // clear all form fields after successful submit //dataType: null // 'xml', 'script', or 'json' (expected server response type) //resetForm: true // reset the form after successful submit // $.ajax options can be used here too, for example: //timeout: 3000 }; // bind to the form's submit event $('#fbPostStatus').submit(function() { // inside event callbacks 'this' is the DOM element so we first // wrap it in a jQuery object and then invoke ajaxSubmit $(this).ajaxSubmit(options); // !!! Important !!! // always return false to prevent standard browser submit and page navigation return false; }); });

  • How do you stop a dynamically loaded form from submitting with jquery?

    - by Zak
    I'm working on an AJAX login system. Right now, when the user clicks on a link, the login form is dynamically loaded when the person clicks on a "log in" link. Since I'm using AJAX for this, I want to prevent the form from actually submitting when the submit button is clicked. I tried the following code as part of my load function, and the form loads correctely, but the form still submits normally. $('#loginBox').load('loginform.php'); $('#loginBox form').submit(function(event) { event.preventDefault(); }); How can I fix this?

  • sloving Algorithm notation

    Use big-O notation to classify the traditional grade school algorithms for addition and multiplication. That is, if asked to add two numbers each having N digits, how many individual additions must be performed? If asked to multiply two N-digit numbers, how many individual multiplications are required Suppose f is a function that returns the result of reversing the string of symbols given as its input, and g is a function that returns the concatenation of the two strings given as its input. If x is the string hrwa, what is returned by g(f(x),x)? Explain your answer - don't just provide the result!

  • why C clock() returns 0

    - by eddy ed
    I've got something like this: clock_t start, end; start=clock(); something_else(); end=clock(); printf("\nClock cycles are: %d - %d\n",start,end); and I always get as an output "Clock cycles are: 0 - 0" Any idea why this happens? (Just to give little detail, the something_else() function performs a left-to-right exponentiation using montgomery represantation, moreover I don't know for certain that the something_else() function does indeed take some not negligible time.) This is on Linux. The result of uname -a is: Linux snowy.*****.ac.uk 2.6.32-71.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Fri May 20 03:51:51 BST 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

  • mysql_fetch_object on complex objects

    - by Arsenal
    Say for example I have the follwoing DB structure Table book id title ... Table Author id name ... Table BookAuthor id bookid authorid And in PHP I have the following object class Book { var $id; var $title; var $authors = array(); function Book() {} } class Author { var $id; var $name; function Author(){} } Now, would it be possible using mysql_fetch_object to retrieve the bookobject including the authors as an array of author objects? If it's possible I'm pretty sure you'll need the basic inner join query SELECT * FROM tblbook INNER JOIN tblbookauthor on ... (wel you get the point) Is it possible? thanks!

  • Fluent mapping help

    - by Matt Thrower
    Hi, This is probably a very simple question but I'm new to nHibernate and I'm having trouble working this out. I have a Page object, which can have many Region objects. I also have a Workflow object. Page and Region objects both have a relationship to Workflow and it's this double association that I'm having trouble with. The PageMap has HasMany(Function(x) x.Regions).Cascade.All() And the RegionMap has: References(Function(x) x.Page) And this all seems to work. But how do I define the relationship between Workflow and these two objects?

  • jqGrid: Is it possible to commit a cell change when tabbing off instead of pressing Enter?

    - by The Matt
    I have a simple in-line edit in my grid, and I want to commit the change when the user tabs off the textbox. The default behavior of jqGrid forces the user to press 'Enter' to commit the change, but this is non-intuitive for our users. onSelectRow: function(id) { $(gridCoreGroups).editRow(id, true, undefined, function(response) { alert("hello world"); } } I've worked my way through the events provided, but they all happen as a result of the user pressing 'Enter', which I want to avoid. Is there something I can wire up that would trigger an action when the user tabs off this cell?

  • What is the most efficient algorithm for reversing a String in Java?

    - by Hultner
    I am wondering which way to reverse a string in Java that is most efficient. Should I use some sort of xor method? The easy way would be to put all the chars in a stack and put them back into a string again but I doubt that's a very efficient way to do it. And please do not tell me to use some built in function in Java. I am interested in learning how to do it not to use an efficient function but not knowing why it's efficient or how it's built up.

  • How do I clear the text contents of a div in javascript?

    - by Ben
    I'm temporarily adding contents to a div,tempDiv, and adding that to a link which is appended to a div, #contentHere, that's displayed. I need to clear the contents of tempDiv so that the links aren't appended to each other, creating a string of urls that don't link to anywhere. $(document).ready(function(){ $.getJSON("data.php", function(data){ for(i = 0; i < 5; i++){ $("#tempDiv").append(data.justIn[i].dataLink+ ' '); $("#contentHere").append("<a href=\"#tempDiv\">Click to go to the div link</a>"); //I need to clear the contents of tempDiv here } }); }); Solutions to clearing the temporary contents of the div as I go?

  • Calling some functions before main in C

    - by minjang
    I'd like to do some stuffs before main function. I have multiple source files. In each file, there is some work that needs to be done before main. It was no problem in C++, but problematic with C. In C++, this can be done by two ways: Exploiting a constructor of a global class/struct. Calling a function to a global variable For example, static const int __register_dummy_ = __AddRegisterMetaInfo(...); However, in C, either ways is impossible. Obviously, there is no constructor. So, the first option is inherently impossible. I thought that the second option would be possible, but not compiled in C (I tested only with Visual C++. It gives C2099.). C only allows a constant to a non-automatic variable. Is there any way to call some functions before main?

  • Passing around objects to network packet handlers ?

    - by xeross
    Hey, I've been writing a networking server for a while now in C++ and have come to the stage to start looking for a way to properly and easily handle all packets. I am so far that I can figure out what kind of packet it is, but now I need to figure out how to get the needed data to the handler functions. I had the following in mind: Have a map of function pointers with the opcode as key and the function pointer as value Have all these functions have 2 arguments, packet and ObjectAccessor ObjectAccessor class contains various functions to fetch various items such as users and alike Perhaps pass the user's guid too so we can fetch it from the objectaccessor I'd like to know the various implementations others have come up with, so please comment on this idea and reply with your own implementations. Thanks, Xeross

  • overwriting arguments in t-sql functions

    - by chuck taylor
    I was playing around with some code and realized that it is possible to overwrite the argument to a t-sql function. i.e., create function someFn(@date date) as begin if @date is null set @date = getdate() will set @date to be today's date if the argument was null. This appears only to make any sense if t-sql is treating their arguments as references not values. I realized that I don't actually know what the t-sql rules are for cases like this and was hoping someone could elaborate what is going on here. (I don't ever recall seeing any value vs. reference discussion with respect to t-sql code for that matter actually..)

  • Unity JS - simple if statements not behaving as expected?

    - by IHazABone
    I have a simple script (please no remarks on the fact that I'm not using a switch statement or better code, this is the earliest version and written this way by a peer, I am improving it) that takes an object and moves it back and forth. For some reason, the variable time gets stuck at 249. It is probably an obvious bug with this inefficient logic, but I cannot seem to find it. var speed = 1; private var time = 0; function Start() { } function Update() { if(condition == true)moveStuff(); } function moveStuff() { var timeSwitch = false; if(time == 0)timeSwitch = false; if(time == timeSet)timeSwitch = true; if(direction == 1) { if(timeSwitch == false) { transform.Translate(Vector3.up * (Time.deltaTime * speed)); time += 1; Debug.Log(time); }else if(timeSwitch == true) { transform.Translate(Vector3.up * ((Time.deltaTime * speed) * -1)); time -= 1; Debug.Log(time); } } else if(direction == 2) { if(timeSwitch == false) { transform.Translate(Vector3.down * (Time.deltaTime * speed)); time += 1; Debug.Log("Moved down.   • jQuery jqXHR - cancel chained calls, trigger error chain

    - by m0sa
    I am creating a ajax utility for interfacing with my server methods. I would like to leverage jQuery 1.5+ deferred methods from the object returned from the jQuery.ajax() call. The situation is following. The serverside method always returns a JSON object: { success: true|false, data: ... } The client-side utility initiates the ajax call like this var jqxhr = $.ajax({ ... }); And the problem area: jqxhr.success(function(data, textStatus, xhr) { if(!data || !data.success) { ???? // abort processing, trigger error } }); return jqxhr; // return to caller so he can attach his own handlers So the question is how to cancel invocation of all the callers appended success callbacks an trigger his error handler in the place mentioned with ???? ? The documentation says the deferred function invocation lists are FIFO, so my success handler is definitely the first one.
