Any help is appreciated.

• Problem using yaml-cpp on OS X

• Visual Studio 2008 Crashes When Opening Project Properties

  I have a multi-project .NET application which I am developing in Visual Studio 2008. If I try to open the project properties for one of my projects (to change settings or publish) Visual Studio immediately closes. There is no prompt to send a report to Microsoft, and two consecutive errors logged in the Event Viewer: .NET Runtime version 2.0.50727.3053 - Fatal Execution Engine Error (7A035E00) (80131506) .NET Runtime version 2.0.50727.3053 - Fatal Execution Engine Error (7A2E0F92) (0) If I delete all the .user and .suo files in my solution, I can once again publish and access project properties. The error, however, returns over time. This seems to suggest that the .suo or .user files are getting corrupted by Visual Studio. Has anyone else had this issue or know how to fix the problem?

• Inserting snippets from macros

  In Visual Studio 2008 I had a macro which would insert a snippet and input today's date in one of the replacements. When I try to run this macro in VS 2010 it doesn't work. No matter how I try it will not insert a snippet. When I try the following command: DTE.ExecuteCommand("Edit.InvokeSnippetFromShortcut", "snippetName") This fails with error "Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component. I tried recording a new macro and when I pressed the keyboard shortcut for inserting a snippet (Ctrl+K, Ctrl+X) VS gave the error "The command Insert Snippet is not currently available." Did MS remove the ability to insert snippets from macros? If so this really is a shame because macros have functionality not found in snippets and vice versa.

  I'm trying to install libjpeg on os X to fix a problem with the Python Imaging Library JPEG setup. I downloaded libjpeg from http://www.ijg.org/files/jpegsrc.v7.tar.gz I then began to setup the config file cp /usr/share/libtool/config.sub . cp /usr/share/libtool/config.guess . ./configure –enable-shared However, the enable-shared flag didn't seem to work. $ ./configure –-enable-shared configure: WARNING: you should use --build, --host, --target configure: WARNING: invalid host type: –-enable-shared checking build system type...   I have a JSONP WCF service,using back end as MySql.It is working properly when i run it locally with visual studio. Now we have hosted it in Windows Server 2003. Now there is very strange problem occurring.. When I do a request with fiddler which does not require much processing internally, it gives me result 200 OK with desired output as response, But when I do a request which requires some internal data processing, it gives me 504 error(gateway time out error).   HI, I use a WebBrowser control to navigate to a html page which contains JavaScript. When I open this page in the IE browser no JavaScript error is shown and the page is displayed and functions perfectly. But when navigating to the same page with the WebBrowser control, a pop-up appears to inform about a Script error. I have tried to suppress the script error with the ScriptErrorsSuppressed property but now another pop-up comes up with the title "Visual Studio Just-In-Time Debugger" and proposes to debug. How can i disable all the errors?

• ASP.NET MVC 2 - Account controller not found

  Hi all, I've recently created an ASP.NET MVC 2 application, which works perfectly in the development environment. However, when I deploy it to the server (123-reg Premium Hosting), I can access all of the expected areas - except the Account controller (www.host.info/Account). This then attempts to redirect to the Error.aspx page (www.host.info/Shared/Error.aspx) which it cannot find. I've checked that all of the views have been published, and they're all in the correct place. It seems bizarre that two other controllers can be accessed with no problems, whereas the Account controller cannot be found. I have since renamed the AccountController to SecureController, and all of the dependencies, to no avail. The problem with not being able to find the Error.aspx page also occurs on the development environment. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chris

  I was using \documentclass{amsmath} for awhile with no issues, but I recently wanted to switch to the normal \documentclass{article} because I thought it looked nicer. However, now my \tableofcontents command produces this error: ! Undefined control sequence. <argument> \tocsection {}{1}{Purpose} l.1 ...ne {section}{\tocsection {}{1}{Purpose}}{4} ? I'm writing a research paper with latex, and Purpose is the first section (the command I'm using is \section{Purpose}). It's saying line 1 has the error, which is \documentclass{article}. When I try to open the file with pico or vim, the command thinks that the "-" sign is an option for the command. I tried enclosing the file name with quotes ('), but I still get the same error. I tried with bash and zsh, but still the same error.

  Hello, I would like to define inside a class a constant which value is the maximum possible int. Something like this: class A { ... static const int ERROR_VALUE = std::numeric_limits<int>::max(); ... } This declaration fails to compile with the following message: numeric.cpp:8: error: 'std::numeric_limits::max()' cannot appear in a constant-expression numeric.cpp:8: error: a function call cannot appear in a constant-expression I understand why this doesn't work, but two things look weird to me: It seems to me a natural decision to use the value in constant expressions. Why did the language designers decide to make max() a function thus not allowing this usage? The spec claims in 18.2.1 that For all members declared static const in the numeric_limits template, specializations shall define these values in such a way that they are usable as integral constant expressions. Doesn't it mean that I should be able to use it in my scenario and doesn't it contradict the error message? Thank you.

  I'm getting a "loss of precision" error when there should be none, AFAIK. this is an instance variable: byte move=0; this happens in a method of this class: this.move=(this.move<<4)|(byte)(Guy.moven.indexOf("left")&0xF); move is a byte, move is still a byte, and the rest is being cast to a byte.   Documentation for java.lang.Error says: An Error is a subclass of Throwable that indicates serious problems that a reasonable application should not try to catch But as java.lang.Error is subclass of java.lang.Throwable I can catch this type of throwable. I understand why this is not good idea to catch this sort of exceptions. As far as I understand, if we decide to caught it, the catch handler should not allocate any memory by itself. Otherwise OutOfMemoryError will be thrown again. So, my question is: is there any real word scenarios when catching java.lang.OutOfMemoryError may be a good idea? if we catching java.lang.OutOfMemoryError how can we sure that catch handler doesn't allocate any memory by itself (any tools or best practicies)?   Hi there, I have some silverlight code that calls a WCF service which then uses the Entity Framework to access the database and return records. Everything runs fine but ... when I replace the Entity Framework code with classic ADO.NET code I get an error: The remote server returned an error: NotFound When I call the ADO.NET code directly with a unit test it returns records fine so it's not a problem with the ADO.NEt code I used fiddler and it seems to say that the service cannot be found with a "500" error. i don't think it's anything to do with the service as the only thing I change is the technology to access the database. Anyone know what i'm missing here?

• Attempt to set foreign key to nonexistent table, sf_guard_user!

  I am using SF 1.3.2 with Propel ORM on Ubuntu 9.10. I created a new SF project and simply copied the sfGuard plugin folder from a pre-existing SF 1.32 project. I manually edited the schema.yml in the new project, adding a user table that reference the the sfGuard table. When I run propel:build-sql, I got the task failed, with the error message: Attempt to set foreign key to nonexistent table, sf_guard_user! I'm not sure why this error is occurring, (the error dosent make sense to me, since the sfGuard plugin works fine with the previous project, with no changes made. what am I missing?? BTW, I have not created any apps in the project yet. I am just running the build-sql task first, to make sure that Propel has no problems with parsing my yml files etc.

• LINQ query checks for null

  I have a userList, some users don't have a name (null). If I run the first LINQ query, I got an error saying "object reference not set to an instance of an object" error. var temp = (from a in userList where ((a.name == "john") && (a.name != null)) select a).ToList(); However, if I switch the order by putting the checking for null in front, then it works without throwing any error: var temp = (from a in userList where ((a.name != null) && (a.name == "john")) select a).ToList(); Why is that? If that's pure C# code (not LINQ), I think both would be the same. I don't have SQL profiler, I am just curious what will be the difference when they are being translated on SQL level.
