  Hello, I am getting an error I do not understand. I am using File:Find to recurse a fylesystem on Windows using Activestate Perl 5.8.8 and trying to stat $File::Find::name; so I am not stat-ing a filename got from a text file scanning requiring chomp-ing or newline removing. I was unable to get file modification time, the mtime in: my ($dev,$ino,$mode,$nlink,$uid,$gid,$rdev,$size,$atime,$mtime,$ctime,$blksize,$blocks) = stat($File::Find::name); so trying a -s $File::Find::name gives me the error: Unsuccessful stat on filename containing newline A typical file name found is F01-01-10 Num 0-00000.pdf but I get the same error even renaming in E02.pdf

• Connecting to Python XML RPC from the Mac

  Hi, I wrote an XML RPC server in python and a simple Test Client for it in python. The Server runs on a linux box. I tested it by running the python client on the same linux machine and it works. I then tried to run the python client on a Mac and i get the following error socket.error: (61, 'Connection Refused') I can ping and ssh into the linux machine from the Mac. So i dont think its a configuration or firewall error. Does anyone have any idea what could be going wrong? • ubuntu 10.04 logs itself out overnight

  Every night when I leave work, I lock the screen via ubuntu's "power" button in the top right hand panel. When I come to work in the morning, I'm greeted with the log-in screen. This doesn't happen every night, but most. I'm running ubuntu 10.04 on a Dell inspiron. I've included some HW specs, and also dmesg output. Please let me know what other logs may be useful. thanks! • How to find missing web part ?

  Does anybody know how to find offending web part which causes this error ? “A Web Part or Web Form Control on this Web Part Page cannot be displayed or imported because it is not registered on this site as safe.” I have inherited an old SharePoint 2003 portal site which uses custom web parts. I know what this error means. I also know that each web part must be installed and registred as safe in web.config. The problem is that I don't know which one is missing. I get same error when I'm trying to open the page in FrontPage as well.

  I have Master/Slave setup using Win2k8R with SVN 1.6.9 and using TortoiseSVN 1.6.7. The access is through Apache and using http. Everything works but when I commit I get the following message: Error: post-commit hook failed (exit code 1) with output: Error: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. This happen when using multiple TortoiseSVN dialog for committing the files in rapid succession. If I use one TortoiseSVN dialog and wait till the commit reply is back then I won't see the problem. In other words, committing one at the time cause no issue. The post-commit script output is logged. Even though I get the above error but when I check the Master and Slave repository the files have been replicated okay with no issue. I am wondering how this issue can be solved.

  I feel very very very silly posting this, but I can't find the answer. I've searched google and here. // originally values in a multi dimensional array, but used simple values // to rule out errors. $somenumber = 1; $anotherone=5; if ($somenumber < $res->shares < $anotherone ) { blah } Get the error: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' Seems pretty simple and straight forward. Is there some weird thing that you can't compare multiple values? Do I have to explicitly type? It works in Perl. Which of course means that it has to work like this in everything else. ;)

  Hi All, I am working on upgrading a web app to asp.net 2 from 1. VS 2008 did its conversion things, and everything is building successfully and has been converted to a web application via the appropriate menu item in VS 2008. On launching the site using the Asp.net development server I am receiving a configuration error on the appsettings line in the machine config of Unrecognized attribute 'restartOnExternalChanges'. The app targets asp.net 2 in the projects properties in VS, and the error page indicates similar : Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.3053; ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.3053 The error message seems to indicate I am trying to run this in an asp.net 1 environment, but surely that isnt the case, and if so how do I rectify this.   I've created an EC2 instance, created an EBS volume, attached it to the running instance, and successfully ssh'ed into my instance. The drive is attached as /dev/sdf Next, I tried mounting the drive by running: mkdir /testName mount -t ext3 /dev/sdf /testName But then I get the error message: mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdf, missing codepage or helper program, or other error In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try dmesg | tail or so What am I doing wrong?   I am growing weary of some error messages in my syslog - its showing: Jul 3 15:16:38 web rpc.idmapd[14535]: nss_getpwnam: name 'nobody' does not map into domain 'mydomain.com' I have check, my hostname is correct as mydomain.com and I even added a valid entry in /etc/hostname . I have edited my /etc/idmapd.conf to reflect this domain name, this error message log every 10minutes and its becoming frustrating, I do not know why or whats causing it, the nfs server is working ok, with correct entries and now message in the log. I am using centos6 -- Ofcoure, i have substituted mydomain.com with my real domain

• Add Mirror for volumes other than the last one in Windows 7 (disk "not up-to-date")

  I'm using Windows 7 x64 Ultimate. I have an existing 4TB disk with 3 NTFS volumes, a new 3TB blank disk, and I'm trying to mirror the volumes onto the new disk. My Windows install is on an SSD which is Disk 0. The 4TB disk with volumes is Disk 1, and the new blank disk is Disk 2. I can add a mirror successfully for the last volume, but when I try to add a mirror for the first volume I immediately get errors (see below). Is there something I special I need to do to add a mirror for a volume other than the last one? More info: I opened Disk Management, right-clicked on the first volume on the existing disk, went to Add Mirror, and selected the new disk. The first time I did this I was prompted to convert the new disk to a Dynamic Disk, which I approved. Subsequently I got a message: The operation failed to complete because the Disk Management console view is not up-to-date. Refresh the view by using the refresh task. If the problem persists close the Disk Management console, then restart Disk Management or restart the computer. I've refreshed disk management, restarted the computer, and converted the new disk to basic and back to dynamic, but I still get that error message. Looking around for suggestions of a workaround, I saw a suggestion to use the diskpart command line tool. Running diskpart from the Start Menu as Administrator, I did select volume 2 (the first volume I want to mirror) and then add disk 2 (the new disk), and received a somewhat similar error: Virtual Disk Service error: The disk's extent information is corrupted. DiskPart has referenced an object which is not up-to-date. Refresh the object by using the RESCAN command. If the problem persists exit DiskPart, then restart DiskPart or restart the computer. A rescan appears to be successful: DISKPART> select disk 2 Disk 2 is now the selected disk. DISKPART> rescan Please wait while DiskPart scans your configuration... DiskPart has finished scanning your configuration. but attempting to add the mirror again resulted in the same error. The only similar report I found online was this: http://www.sevenforums.com/hardware-devices/335780-unable-mirror-all-but-last-partition-drive.html Based on that I attempted to mirror the last volume on the disk to the new disk using diskpart, and that started successfully -- it is currently resynchronizing. More Background: In the course of dealing with a failing 3TB hard drive, I bought a replacement 4TB drive and installed it, then copied the partitions from the failing drive to it using Minitool Partition Wizard Home, and then removed the failing drive and was up and running again normally. Now I've received a warranty replacement for the failing drive, and installed it, and now I'm attempting to mirror my partitions to it.

• C# Application crashes with Buffer Overrun in deployed (.exe) version, but not in Visual Studio

  Hi, I have a c# Windows Forms application that runs perfectly from within Visual Studio, but crashes when its deployed and run from the .exe. It crashes with a Buffer Overrun error...and its pretty clear that this error is not being thrown from within my code. Instead, windows must be detecting some sort of buffer overrun and shutting down the application from the outside. I don't think there's one specific line of code that is causing it..it simply happens intermittently. Does anybody have any thoughts on what the possible causes of a Buffer Overrun error might be, and why it would only occur in the deployed application and not when run from with Visual Studio? • Cannot install Curb gem on Netbeans 6.9 R2

  Hi guys, I'm trying to install feedzirra. When i install curb on my netbeans i get following errors. Building native extensions. This could take a while... ERROR: Error installing curb-0.7.6.gem: ERROR: Failed to build gem native extension. "C:/Program Files/NetBeans 6.9 RC2/ruby/jruby-1.5.0/bin/jruby.bat.exe" extconf.rb '"C:/Program Files/NetBeans 6.9 RC2/ruby/jruby-1.5.0/bin/jruby.bat.exe"' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.   Hi, I have a database working in mu local sql server 2005 express edition. I have to import my local dtabase to a remote servr database. For that i established connection to that remote server, and i can now see that database . but when i tried to restore database fro my local machine i'm getting an error message when i tried to give backup file location. Below is the error message The EXECUTE permission was denied on the object 'xp_availablemedia', database 'mssqlsystemresource', schema 'sys'. The user does not have permission to perform this action. The statement has been terminated. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 229) waht is the problem, how can i solve this. Please help me

Making some security testing I'd noticed than my server is returning a 200 HTTP status code of the default error page when I try to access to a non-existent element instead of return a 404 status code and redirect me to the default error page.
