• Analysing a Visual Foxpro application to derive requirements. Tools/approaches/practices?

  Hello. In an upcoming project I am supposed to re-engineer a huge application built on Visual Foxpro into a web-application. The target platform is .Net. The application from the end-users' perspective is very complex (complex forms, reports, navigation, etc). The sorry state is that there are no documents available from which I can derive, business processes, business rules, work-flows, validations, application state, etc. I can gather some requirements from end-users but it cannot be complete from any perspective. Maneuvering through the code would be tedious & time consuming, given the millions of lines of code. Therefore I am looking for a tool that can help me in code analysis. My googling attempt didn't help me at least for a Visual Foxpro code base. Besides, I will appreciate if someone can share processes/approaches/techniques to establish the requirements as far as possible. BTW, this link didn't quite help.

  Hello, I need to parse plain Win32 DLL/Exe and need to get all imports and exports from it and to show it on console or GUI(say Win Forms). Is it possible to parse Win32 DLL/Exe in C#.NET, read its export table,import table and get managed types from it. As its unmanaged PE(.NET doesn't allows you to convert unmanaged PE files to managed .NET assemblies, only it generates COM managed assemblies). So how to parse export and import tables of PE files and take all methods(signatures from it) in managed form.(e.g if char* as argument, it should display as IntPtr) Regards Usman

• linux: disable using loopback and send data via wire between 2 eth cards of one comp

  Hello I have a comp with 2 eth cards, connected with patch-cord (direct eth. cable from 1st to 2nd). The linux is installed, I want to send data from 1st network card to 2nd. And I want to force the packet to pass via cable. I can set up any ip on cards. With ping I get counters on cards constant. Is it possible with tcp/ip sockets? PS. I need to write a program. which will send packets via eth, so stackoverflow-related question. There can be some OS-dependent way, they will help me too

• Question - Should I use SPItemReceiver or SPEmailEventReceiver

  Hello, I have custom SharePoint Document Library which I use to upload spreadsheet data into a database. When a spreadsheet is uploaded, the SPItemReceiver triggers, and upload the data. Now, I would like to add an incoming email feature to the document library. My question is...after the document library has received the spreadsheet by email. Should I use the override-able method EmailReceived of the SPEmailEventReceiver to process the data in the spreadsheet or still use the SPItemReceiver? I gather I could use either, but I would like to know your opinion which is better and why. Thanks in advance

• JQUERY CYCLE - Can I add page links to anchors assigned to Cycle's pager?

  Hello everyone. Seems I've outdone myself. All the while I was creating this pretty little 'latest news' widget that fades on mouseover of each anchor. Then my colleague says, "Hey, Chris, these links don't work" ...oops. I would like to find out if I can have these anchors take the user to the relvent page on click. Currently Cycle is set to do its hocus pocus on mouseover.   Hello. Well, this smells like a tumbleweed, but I will ask it anyway. Suppose you have a noweb file with some c# code. You also have the c++ pretty-print filter dpp. If you run the command noweave -filter ./dpp -x test.nw > csharp.tex on the file below, it will print everything except for the curly braces. Instead of them, I get an em-dash and a closing quotations marks (i.e. ?) in the dvi. The tex source looks fine...   Hello Is thare any quickstart guide for programmers for writing DSP-accelerated appliations for TMS320C64x? I have a program with custom algorythm (not the fft, or usial filtering) and I want to accelerate it using multi-DSP coprocessor. So, how should I modify source to move computation from main CPU to DSPs? What limitations are there for DSP-running code? I have some experience with CUDA. In CUDA I should mark every function as being host, device, or entry point for device (kernel). There are also functions to start kernels and to upload/download data to/from GPU. There are also some limitations, for device code, described in CUDA Reference manual. I hope, there is an similar interface and a documentation for DSP.

  Hello I have a domain and a wordpress-blog on same server. Now I have a problem (surprise). The wordpress is located on /httpdocs/blog/ and domain is pointing to /httpdocs/ and I'm trying to redirect it to /httpdocs/domain/. But, obvisiously, I have permalinks in Wordpress. Here's my current .htaccess: RewriteEngine On RewriteBase /blog/ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /blog/index.php [L] RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} domain.com RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/domain RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/cgi-bin RewriteRule ^(.*)$ domain/$1 [L] But as you already propably assumed, this doesn't work.   Hello, I have been using ANTLR to generate a parser + tree grammar for a mark up language with Java target which works fine. Now I am trying to get the target in JavaScript to use it in my web browser. However, I have not been able to locate any good documentation on how to go about doing this. I am using eclipse with ANTLR IDE, and when i specify the language as JavaScript, I get the following errors. Multiple markers at this line (10): internal error: group JavaScript does not satisfy interface ANTLRCore: mismatched arguments on these templates [treeParser(grammar, name, scopes, tokens, tokenNames, globalAction, rules, numRules, bitsets, labelType, ASTLabelType, superClass, members, filterMode)] (10): internal error: java.util.NoSuchElementException: no such attribute: filterMode in template context [treeParser] If anyone could help me out with this or point me to some material which I could read about the JavaScript target with ANTLR, it would be great.   Hello I have to create a simple app, that will suit as an example of using WPF and WCF for creating HMI screens. I'm not sure what WCF is supposed to do in such application, I guess there must be an OPC server that my application connects to. Does app connect to OPC server using WCF service and does the WCF service reside inside the application or outside? Is WCF service meant to be used only as a connection to OPC server? I'm not yet quite sure which process to simulate, I need something simple. Please, any ideas are welcomed. Thank you

• Using Kate with Simple Build Tool (SBT)

  Hello I am working with the Kate editor based on the lack of other good tools for Scala development, I am also using IntelliJ however it still has some bugs, and are slow enough to make me impatient. I have just startet using both Kate and SBT, and in that regard I have a little challenge I hope there is an answer for out there on "The Internet". I am using the standard "Build plugin" in Kate and has changed the commands from make to sbt. This works fine, and I am also getting a error report when the sbt fails during compile time. However I really wish to know if it is possible to integrate the compile errors into Kate such that it would be shown under "Errors and Warnings" instead of just in the output tab, where I have to do a manual search for the compile errors. Im guessing that it has something to do with the format of the output, if that is the case maybe it is "just" a smaller adjustment I need to make to the parsing language.

  Hello, I'm using C# to send email newsletters for subscribers. There's no problem with sending the email but some email clients like outlook and hotmail receive html newsletter as an attachment and the email body contains only plaintext with html tags removed and some clients like gmail receive the email just fine. What actually creates this behavior? If i put just few html tags in to message outlook and hotmail shows the newsletter fine but as i put in more html elements my mail arrives as attachment. I've been trying to find out how to make my email appear ok in most popular email clients like outlook but have had no success so far. Anyone care to enlighten me how this email + html stuff actually works?

  Hello, I'm working with OpenCV on a beagleboard with ubuntu and OpenCV 1.1 interfaced via Python. I'm trying to set something up to capture a feed from a UVC compatible webcam (logitech C250). I have tested the webcam with luvcview and it works but only if I set the input format to YUV. If I run it in 'normal' mode I am getting back jpeg frames and something - somewhere is not happy! I'm trying to connect with the webcam in OpenCV as I want to get the image back from the webcam and run some analysis on it. As I have a limited device this seems to be the most efficient way of doing it - however I need to instruct the capturing system to capture in YUV and not jpeg. Is there a way of doing this (for example luvcview allow me to enter luvcview -f YUVY)? Cheers, Neil

But how to do the same thing for ascx user controls ? CacheProfile isn't in <%@ OutputCache % :S Is there a workaround ? Thanks.

  Hello. I have a file of IP addresses called "IPs". When I parse a new IP from my logs, I'd like to see if the new IP is already in file IPs, before I add it. I know how to add the new IP to the file, but I'm having trouble seeing if the new IP is already in the file. !/usr/bin/python from IPy import IP IP = IP('192.168.1.2') f=open(IP('IPs', 'r')) #This line doesn't work f=open('IPs', 'r') # this one doesn't work for line in f: if IP == line: print "Found " +IP +" before" f.close() In the file "IPs", each IP address is on it's own line. Now, one portion of the sprite needs to be repeated vertically.   hello I building my project using GWT plugin for eclipse Galileo, after i done from RPC between the server and client, i trying to make a reference from gwt server side to normal java class in non-gwt-project, but every time i make an object from the class (which in non-gwt-project) gives me ClassNotFoundException. i did the buildpath for the gwt project, but still gives me the same exception, is there a way to make that from server side (not from client side). i need help please, i spent a lot of time searching for solution but i did not found anything. i appreciate any suggestions...thanks
