• Link to open in a new window, with 2 frames

  I will be displaying news feeds from external websites on my website. So i need to open external links in those feeds in a new window, but give the user an option to return to my website. Basically I'm trying to replicate Google Images' technique of opening a link in a window with 2 frames - with the top frame having an option to "Remove Frame" and the bottom frame displaying the content of the link. Also, since the news feed will be dynamic, I don't want to hard-code anything. The code should be used automatically by any link appearing in the news feeds. Any ideas on how to do it?

• Google chrome extension: local storage

  Hi there I'm developing an extension for Google Chrome, and have run into some trouble.I created an options.html page and added it to the manifest.json file.The page shows properly. I saved the options, and then went back to the page on which the extension is supposed to run. Unfortunately, the Local storage for the options was returning a 'null' instead of the option. If I set the local storage option directly from the extension's JS script, it works fine but not if it was set from the options page. Any idea how i can access the options.html local storage values from my Javascript file in the extension? thanks!

  Is it possible to merge changes from a central repo to a local branch without having to commit/stash the edits on the local branch and checkout master? If I am working on local branch "work" and there are some uncommited changes, I use the following steps to get updates from the central repo into my working branch. git stash git checkout master git pull git checkout work git rebase master git stash pop Usually there are no uncommitted changes in "work" and then I omit the stash steps. What I would really like is something like the following: git pull master (updates master while work branch is checked out and has changes) git rebase master (rebases the updates into work branch uncommited changes are still safe) Is there something easier than what I currently do?

  Hi! Through XForms, I generate an XML document. I need this XML document to be transformed by a specific XSL. How do I link the XSL to the XML through XForms? Example of link: <?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="test.xsl"?> (The XML doc gets regenerated every time the XForms submits to it.. so I cannot hardcode the link in the XML doc, in needs to be done through the XForms) Thanks!

  I want to have a link in the popup.html file for my extension that loads another file (which will be included with the extension) how can I do this? or will I need to keep it in the same page? I tried using this code: <a href="/mail.html"> <img id="newmail_icon" src="" width="16" height="16" /> <span id="newmail">loading</span><br /> </a> But when I click the link nothing happens. I just found out that adding target="_blank" to the link will make it work and open in a new tab, but I can't get it to open in the popup. I have tried target="_self" but it didn't do anything.

  Hello , I went through local variables and class variables concept. But I had stuck at a doubt " Why is it so that we cannot declare local variables as static " ? For e.g Suppose we have a play( ) function : void play( ) { static int i=5; System.out.println(i); } It gives me error in eclipse : Illegal modifier for parameter i; I had this doubt because of the following concepts I have read : Variables inside method : scope is local i.e within that method. When variable is declared as static , it is present for the entire class i.e not to particular object. Please could anyone help me out to clarify the concept. Thanks.

  I have stripes:link tag in a jsp with an event attribute: <stripes:link href="${actionBean.context.currentStage.stripesForwardAction}" addSourcePage="true" event="showTab2Link"> This triggers the validation to trigger on nested properties: @ValidateNestedProperties({ @Validate(field="county", required=true, minlength=2, maxlength=2, mask="\\d\\d"), @Validate(field="parish", required=true, minlength=3, maxlength=3, mask="\\d\\d\\d"), @Validate(field="holding", required=true, minlength=4, maxlength=4, mask="\\d\\d\\d\\d") }) However this would been fine if the actual values it is validation are not present, but they are present within the html and when debugging the bean. Why would the stripes:link trigger this? If I change it to an stripes:submit then it is fine. thanks, Dave

• Hudson can't find local maven repository (including 3rd party jars)

  Hi all, I have created a Maven2 project. Everything works fine. Now, I have set up a Hudson project in order to make nightly builds possible. Hudson should check out the current project state from a Subversion repository, run the tests, build the project and deploy everyting to a repository. My Subversion repositroy contains my Maven2 project but no jars located in my local Maven repository (.m2). That's probably why hudson finishes with a failure, saying that some 3rd party jars are't available. Here, I have to say that there are some jars in my local Maven repository (.m2), which aren't available in any Maven repositories. Hence, there is no possibility to download these jars. Has Hudson the ability to connect to the local .m2 repository? Or is there another way to make these jar files available to Hudson? Thanks a million in advance for your help.

  Hi, at work, we have a SVN repo, which we access to thorugh http, like: svn co http://user@machine/PATH even at work and for some misterious reasons, teh connections between local machines and the repo machine are very slow, but the connection between home and work is almost impossible. I wonder if I could do somethin like: 1- get a copy of the "master" SVN repo to my local machine 2- each time i make modifications etc, use svn co http://user@MYLOCALmachine/PATH instead of svn co http://user@machine/PATH 3- when I am back at work, "merge" somehow all the modifications in my local repo to the master one. Sorry, I am ewally new to SVN, any hint would be appreciated. Thanks

  Hello, I trying to do billing service. Seller can create bill from my website and send to the buyer. Once seller created bill, bill detail will be send to buyer email address. What I want to know is, at the bill information email, can i send payment link whether buyer can click payment link and carried to the paypal payment page directly. Will not be landing or redirecting from our page. Can it be possible ? Because when someone request money from paypal, we get the payment link from paypal which is directly go to the payment page. • Validation errors from Google App Engine Logout link

  I am making a web page using the Google App Engine. I am validating my pages, and found that the logout link that is generated by the call to the users api (in python) users.create_logout_url(request.uri) does not validate as XHTML 1.0 Strict. The href in the anchor tag looks like this: /_ah/login?continue=http%3A//localhost%3A8080/&action=Logout Including a link with this anchor text throws three different validation errors: *general entity "action" not defined and no default entity *reference to entity "action" for which no system identifier could be generated *EntityRef: expecting ';' Here is a dummy page with the anchor tag in it, if you want to try it on w3c validator.Dummy Page. The logout link wont work, but you can see how the page is valid without it, but the actual text inside the href tag breaks the validation. Any thoughts on whats going on? Thank you!

  Hi! I've just started using Google's search API to find addresses and the distances between those addresses. I used geopy for this, but, I often had the problem of not getting the correct addresses for my queries. I decided to experiment, therefore, with Google's "Local Search" (http://code.google.com/apis/ajaxsearch/local.html). Anyway, I wanted to ask if I could use the "Local Search" objects provided by the API within python. Something tells me that I can't and that I have to use json. Does anyone know if there is a work around? PS: Im trying to make something like this: http://www.google.com/uds/samples/random/lead.html ... except a matrix type deal where the insides will be filled with distances between the addresses.   Hi, I have a stateless session bean and a standalone-java-program acting as a client. The bean method executes just fine when the interface is marked @Remote. However,when I mark that interface with @Local instead of @Remote, I get the following Exception. [java] javax.naming.NamingException: Could not dereference object [Root exception is java.lang.RuntimeException: Could not find InvokerLocator URL at JNDIaddress "chapter1/HelloUserBean/local"; looking up local Proxy from Remote JVM?] But I expected even the latter to work, since it is the same computer that the code executes in. Seeing this behavior, I am assuming that, the Application-Server and the Standalone-Java-Program use different JVM instances and not a single JVM instance and so this client can access only through a remote interface. Is that assumption correct ? Thanks !

  Hello, I am trying to use Federated authentication on Azure. I found a example of having a local sts outside azure which is used for authentication from a web role hosted in azure. This works perfectly. My issue is, i dont want to have an application outside azure. Instead, I want to host the local sts website also in azure. So in effect I will have two web roles (1. my actual website, 2. the sts). I tried the above approach my creating a new webrole and moving the files from my original sts project. But i am getting compilation errors even if I reference the required dlls. I have also set "copy local" to true. It will be very helpful if somebody can guide me.. Thanks

  I'm working on a sports website and need to convert the server's match start time to local match start time. After much googling, I figured the fastest and most accurate way is to get the GMT offset value in JavaScript. The trouble is, I can't pass the GMT offset value to PHP. I've tried using both the PHP session and cookie variables, but both are always empty. The website doesn't require a user account, so there isn't any stored GMT value in the database. I'm trying to auto-detect each user's local timezone every time he/she visits the website, and then calculate the local match start time based on the timezone offset. Can someone please advise me?   Hello, At the wordpress form, when you leave comment as guest, there's a website field to fill your web address. If we fill in that box, we can get the link by calling this function <?php echo get_comment_author_link(); ?> But if you are logged in and you don't add the website at your profile, when you leave comment. It doesn't have the link on your username. What I want is, if the logged-in user doesn't have the website, there will be the link which will be carry them to their profile page which is something like http://www.example.com?author=21 Is there any function that i can use out there ?   Hi guys, I'm having trouble getting in touch with SQL Server Managemen Studio 2008! I want to create a link-table that will link an Event to many Audiences (EventAudience). An example of the data that could be contained: EventId | AudienceId 4 1 5 1 4 2 However, I don't want this: EventId | AudienceId 4 1 4 1 I've been looking at relationships and constraints.. but no joy so far! As a sneaky second part to the question, I would like to set up the Audience table such that if a row is deleted from Audience, it will clear down the EventAudience link table in a cascading manner.   Using WATIR and Excel, I'd like to take the first row of a table in Excel, visit the URL, then set the 12th link on the page as a variable in the cell next to the cell with the URL, then go to the next line and repeat. • Passing a variable to javascript via a link.

  My website has a javascript variable (addselectedsubdivision) that loads a neighborhood name from a box on the left to a box on the right. I was hoping I could build a link and then us PHP to add the subdivision letter, neighborhood, and city so that when you click on the link it goes right to this page and loads the neighborhood name in the box on the right. However, I can't get the variable to pass to the new page. Any suggestions?   I am working with UIWebView project and I want to load an HTML file from a project resource. It is working fine when I run from the URL, but when I view the HTML file locally, JS files are not loaded. Loading the local HTML local file doesn't refer to js files in UIWebView. • Unable to link to opengl libraries? DOS / MSVC

  Is there something wrong with this link.exe command line? OpenGL32.lib and Glu32.lib are found at both of the LIBPATH directories. Is it possible the libraries are somehow incompatible? Is there a way to have the link.exe say that instead of unresolved external symbol? Googling shows that this error usually means the libraries are not found, but they are there.   I have to select web link when i mouse hover to particular frame in the webpage, the button(link to next page) will be visible. WebElement mainElement = driver.findElement(By.xpath(<frame xpath >)); Actions builder = new Actions(driver); builder.moveToElement(mainElement); WebElement button1 = driver.findElement(By.xpath("//*[@id='currentSkills']/div[1]/div/a")); builder.moveToElement(button1).click().perform(); I am still unable to select the particular link when i execute, the following error am getting org.openqa.selenium.ElementNotVisibleException: Element is not currently visible and so may not be interacted with (WARNING: The server did not provide any stacktrace information) Command duration or timeout: 131 milliseconds But when i hover mouse pointer to the particular frame during AUT(just to move to particular frame without clicking anything), then test is executing sucessfully. I know this can be handled by JS. But i want to find out is there any solution within selenium webdriver Your help is much appreciated... Thanks Madan
