• How to mock test a web service in PHPUnit across multiple tests?

  I am attempting to test a web service interface class using PHPUnit. Basically, this class makes calls to a SoapClient object. I am attempting to test this class in PHPUnit using the "getMockFromWsdl" method described here: http://www.phpunit.de/manual/current/en/test-doubles.html#test-doubles.stubbing-and-mocking-web-services However, since I want to test multiple methods from this same class, every time I setup the object, I also have to setup the mock WSDL SoapClient object. This is causing a fatal error to be thrown: Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class xxxx in C:\web\php5\PEAR\PHPUnit\Framework\TestCase.php(1227) : eval()'d code on line 15 How can I use the same mock object across multiple tests without having to regenerate it off the WSDL each time? That seems to be the problem.

  I read the manual page of the "mount" command, at it reads as below: All files accessible in a Unix system are arranged in one big tree, the file hierarchy, rooted at /. These files can be spread out over several devices. The mount command serves to attach the file system found on some device to the big file tree. My questions are: Where is this "big tree" located? Suppose I have 2 disks, if I mount them onto some point in the "big tree", does linux place some "special marks" in the mount point to indicate that these 2 "mount directories" are indeed seperate disks?

• How to use MOV instruction in ARM with an immediate number as the second operand

  Hi everyone: I just begin to study ARM assembly language, and am not clear about how to use MOV to transfer an immediate number into a register. From both the ARM reference manual and my textbook, it's said that range of immediate number following MOV instruction is 0-255. But when I test on my own PC in ADS 1.2 IDE, instruction MOV R2, #0xFFFFFFFF performs well. Isn't number 0xFFFFFFFF out of range according to the specification? Hope someone can give me a hand. • Advantages of three-way automatic merging vs. two-way

  I'm interested in understanding two-way and three-way merging of source code files. Based on what I've read, two-way merging has some "crippling weaknesses" compared to three-way merging. What I'd really like to see are one or two simple, concrete examples of cases where three-way merging is able to automatically merge something from a branch to the trunk without producing conflicts, while two-way merging falls down and requires a bunch of manual intervention to get the code merged. Any links to blog posts or even references to books would be appreciated (yes, I have Googled this for an hour or so). Thanks!

  Hi there, I am trying to understand how the following builtin functions work when sequentially processing cursor rows. The descriptions come from the Python 3.1 manual (using SQLite3) Cursor.fetchone() Fetches the next row of a query result set, returning a single sequence. Cursor.fetchmany() Fetches the next set of rows of a query result, returning a list. Cursor.fetchall() Fetches all (remaining) rows of a query result, returning a list. So if I have a loop in which I am processing one row at a time using cursor.fetchone(), and some later code requires that I return to the first row, or fetch all rows using fetchall(), how do I do it? The concept is a bit strange to me, especially coming from a Foxpro background which has the concept of a record pointer which can be moved to the 1st or last row in a cursor (go top/bottom), or go to the nth row (go n) Any help would be appreciated. • How to check if a variable exists in a FreeMarker template?

  Hi, I have a Freemarker template which contains a bunch of placeholders for which values are supplied when the template is processed. I want to conditionally include part of the template if the userName variable is supplied, something like: [#if_exists userName] Hi ${userName}, How are you? [/#if_exists] However, the FreeMarker manual seems to indicate that if_exists is deprecated, but I can't find another way to achieve this. Of course, I could simple providing an additional boolean variable isUserName and use that like this: [#if isUserName] Hi ${userName}, How are you? [/#if] But if there's a way of checking whether userName exists then I can avoid adding this extra variable. Cheers, Don

• Boolean issues in PHP

  I have a question regarding bools in php. I have a stored mysql proc that is returning a boolean. When this value is grabbed on the php side it displays the value as being a 0 or 1. This all seems fine to me and I have read in the php manual that php will interpret a 0 or 1 as false or true at compile time but this does not seem to be the case to me. I have gone a step further and casted my returned value with (bool) but this still does not seem to work. My if statements are not properly firing because of this. Does anyone know what is going on? • How do I pipe the Java console output to a file?

  I found a bug in an application that completely freezes the JVM. The produced stacktrace would provide valuable information for the developers and I would like to retrieve it from the Java console. When the JVM crashes, the console is frozen and I cannot copy the contained text anymore. Is there way to pipe the Java console directly to a file or some other means of accessing the console output of a Java application? Update: I forgot to mention, without changing the code. I am a manual tester. Update 2: This is under Windows XP and it's actually a web start application. Piping the output of javaws jnlp-url does not work (empty file).

• creating PHP C/C++ extension modules using SWIG

  I have written some C/C++ extension modules for PHP, using the 'old fashioned way' - i.e. by using the manual way (as described by Sarah Golemon in her book). This is too fiddly for me, and since I am lazy, and would like to automate as much as possible. Also, I have used SWIG now to generate extensions to Python, and I am getting to like using it quite a lot. I am thinking of using SWIG to generate my future PHP extensions. I am using PHP v5.2 (and above) on my production servers. My questions are: Is SWIG PHP interface stable yet (i.e. ready for production)? If you answered yes to question 1 -are YOU using it in YOUR production site? Are there any 'gotchas' I need to be aware of when creating PHP extension ,modules using SWIG?

• .NET Assembly Diff / Compare Tool - What's available?

  I'd like to be able to do a code-level diff between two assemblies; the Diff plug-in for Reflector is the closest thing I've found so far, but to compare the entire assembly is a manual process requiring me to drill-down into every namespace/class/method. The other tools I've found so far appear to be limited to API-level (namespaces, classes, methods) differences--which won't cut it for what I'm looking for. Does anyone know of such a tool? My requirements (from highest to lowest) are: Be able to analyze / reflect the code content of two versions of the same assembly and report the differences Accept a folder or group of assemblies as input; quickly compare them (similar to WinMerge's folder diff's) Quick ability to determine if two assemblies are equivalent at the code level (not just the API's) Allow easy drill-down to view the differences Exporting of reports regarding the differences (Personally I like WinMerge for text diffs, so an application with a similar interface would be great)

  Hi I have a multi value cck field in my cck content type. I want to simulate click on "add another item" using jquery. which is like $('#edit-field-supp-quan-field-supp-quan-add-more').trigger('click'); but it causes whole content form to submit instead of adding extra multi value cck field. Manuall clicks are working perfectly. • Joomla Template Parameters and params.ini

  I am using wamp and creating a Joomla template with changeable parameters. initially the message is The parameter file \templates\ssc_2010\params.ini is writable! once I make changes everything works as expected, except now i get the message: The parameter file \templates\ssc_2010\params.ini is unwritable! One solution is to brows to the directory, right click the file, select properties, and uncheck read-only. Again the file is writable but once I modify the parameters again it becomes read only again. I'm quite lazy and would like to prevent this from happening again, I've notice this happening in past projects, but now I have to work a lot with parameters so it becomes quite boring doing manual labor like that :P

  I would like to write a text scroller on a micro-processor with 4 5x7 displays in ANSI-C. Does anyone know of example source code or anything that can help me get started? Update This is the user manual for the micro-processor board I have. On PDF page 17 is a picture of the board with the displays. The code is written in an IDE called "zds2_Z8Encore493.exe" and then flashed to the micro-controller over serial port. I would like the text to cascade from one to the next to the next column-by-column, so it is smooth.

• Problem with Replacing special characters in a string

  Hi, I am trying to feed some text to a special pupose parser. The problem with this parser is that it is sensitive to ()[] characters and in my sentence in the text have quite a lot of these characters. The manual for the parser suggests that all the ()[] get replaced with \( \) \[ \]. So using str.replace i am using to attach \ to all of those charcaters. I use the code below: a = 'abcdef(1234)' a.replace('(','\(') however i get this as my output: 'abcdef\\(1234)' What is wrong with my code? can anyone provide me a solution to solve this for these characters?

• Push or Pull to Excel for reporting data

  I am unsure which is the best way to go here. I have a third party Excel 2003 spreadsheet that needs to be filled in on a monthly basis and emailed. Currently it is a manual process and I am in the process of automating the generation of the spreadsheet. I have been throwing around different ideas of how to get the data into the spreadsheet. I have thought of using SSRS to create a report that is in a similar format and get the user to cut and past. Alternatively writing a VBA addin that retrieves that data from a webservice and then adds the data to the spreadsheet. Or using the third party spreadsheet as a template and open it on the server via oledb and adding the data then serving it as a downloadable file. Which is better or are the better solutions out there?

• How do you handle large repeated UI elements with JQuery

  Howdy, Here's the situation: You have a very complex UI element that is repeated in a list. Each has a menu on it, buttons, it hides and shows subelements, buttons for switch it's state, etc, etc. The elements are populated via JSON so you have to construct the elements and the functionality of the fly. What's the best way to accomplish this with JQuery? Where would you save the reusable template for the DOM structure? How would you add the behavior on? $().live? .livequery? onclick? manual after every JSON get? I guess I just see a lot of people doing different things. What's your experience with performance? • Mercurial Messing Up csproj Files?

  I am using Hg to manage and merge code with three other developers involved in a VS2008 project. We do have an .hgignore file that ignores a fair number of files not necessary to track, such as *.pdb, *.obj, etc. However, we do track .csproj files. Periodically, it would seem that files go missing after a merge. We would get build issues, and have to relocate files which were in the project folders, but not in the csproj file. Eventually, I noted during a merge conflict that sometimes Hg seems to merge incorrectly. Here's a screenshot below. The actual conflict that requires manual intervention is lower in the file. But in this section, hg incorrectly replaces DirectoryTasks.cs with a new, different file called ReportTasks.cs, when in fact, both should be added. How do people manage to avoid this?

One of them: [000da49c] open("./rabbit.o", O_RDONLY) = 3 But disassembled instruction at this address of prog doesn't call any syscall (hte editor): da49c ! mov r7, ip What is wrong? How can I find the places of system calls of my program? P.S. Architecture of my device doesn't support GDB-command catch syscall.

  Hi Is it possible to prevent the _doPostBack() call getting rendered on a button? I would like add some custom logic prior to calling the postback. I have added an onClick event to the button e.g. <button id="manualSubmit" runat="server" class="manual-submit" onclick="$('#jeweller-form').hide();" /> However, this just gets rendered inline before the _doPostBack() But the postback gets fired before the jQueryHide takes place I would like to call my own JS function then manually trigger the postback any ideas?

Try: (void) function(); to call a function and ignore its return value. See also the fvr, fvo and fdr flags in §5.5 "Flag Options". I want to get this warning, if there exists any, during compilation. Is there any option in gcc/g++ to achieve this? I had turned on -Wall but that apparently did not detect this.

  Hi everyone, I am trying to work out a good way to handle offline/down memcached servers in my current web application that are built with PHP. I just found this link that shows an approach on how to do what I want, I think: http://cmunezero.com/2008/08/11/consistent-memcache-hashing-and-failover-with-php/ Anyhow, it gets me confused when I start working with it and reading the PHP documention about failover with memcache. Why is offline memcache servers added to the $realInstance server pool together with the online servers? Reading the memcache documentation confuses me even more: http://www.php.net/manual/en/memcache.addserver.php status Controls if the server should be flagged as online. Setting this parameter to FALSE and retry_interval to -1 allows a failed server to be kept in the pool so as not to affect the key distribution algorithm. Requests for this server will then failover or fail immediately depending on the memcache.allow_failover setting. Default to TRUE, meaning the server should be considered online. Thanks,
