• How do I set the bake command to use a different template in cakephp

  Hi all, I wanted bake command to bake a view of my liking. So I searched bakery and found this Modify-default-HTML-produced-by-baked-templates. But after reading this I was not able to modify the template because I wanted to define some CSS in it and those files are not containing any CSS code (they contain only php code inside them). Also if I have designed my own CSS file for the new template then how do I tell bake command to pick that specified css file for new template ? I am totally confused over here. Has anybody done this similar kinda work using cakePHP. Any help would be greatly appreciable. NOTE: I am using cakePHP v 1.3 latest stable release. Thanks

• How do I override Currency symbols in Java?

  I'm trying to print prices in Turkish Liras (ISO 4217 currency code TRY) with Java. When I do Currency curr = Currency.getInstance("TRY"); Locale trLocale = new Locale("tr", "TR"); System.out.println(curr.getSymbol(trLocale)); the output is: "YTL". However, the currency symbol for Turkish Lira has recently changed from "YTL" to "TL" (as can be seen on the Wikipedia page for Turkish Lira). Formatting with NumberFormat gives a similar result. I really don't want to write yet another Currency class, especially when Java has one built-in. Is there a way to override Java's default currency symbol for TRY to "TL"?

  I have a baseclass Event with a DateTime member TimeStamp. Lots of other event-classes will derive from this. I want to be able to search a list of events (that can contain events with duplicate timestamps) fast, so I'd like to use a binary search. • How do I upgrade my MacPorts Perl installation?

  I have installed MacPorts in my MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard. I hadn't explicitly installed perl there but I guess it either came installed with the default macports install or was installed as a dependency by any other port I installed. I want to upgrade the Perl v5.8.9 there with the latest stable Perl version. Whichever it may be currently (I see it is 5.12.2). So, my question is simply how do I do a complete replacement of the old Perl with the new in macports. Will sudo port upgrade perl5 work or do I need to do something else as well. I just wanted to make sure this was the right command so as to avoid screwing up my macports install.

  I need to modify a column in a SQLite database but I have to do it programatically due to the database already being in production. From my research I have found that in order to do this I must do the following. Create a new table with new schema Copy data from old table to new table Drop old table Rename new table to old tables name That seems like a ridiculous amount of work for something that should be relatively easy. Is there not an easier way? All I need to do is change a constraint on a existing column and give it a default value.

  Hi All, I'm using LinFu's dynamic proxy to add some advice to some classes. The problem is that the proxied objects can only intercept virtual methods and will return the return type's default value for non-virtual methods. I can tell whether a class is proxied or not based whether the class or any of it's method has an interception attribute, e.g. [Transaction] Is it possible to write a ReSharper 5 structural search that would warn if any non-virtual public methods are defined on a class with an interception attribute. E.g. • How to format a date as localized Short MonthDay string

  I would like to format a DateTime to a string containing the month name abbreviated and the date for use in axis labels in a graph. The default DateTime format strings do not contain abbreviated month. I guess there is no standard but I could take a substring of the first 3 characters of the month name and replace this into the MonthDay format. • Representing Sparse Data in PostgreSQL

  What's the best way to represent a sparse data matrix in PostgreSQL? The two obvious methods I see are: Store data in a single a table with a separate column for every conceivable feature (potentially millions), but with a default value of NULL for unused features. This is conceptually very simple, but I know that with most RDMS implementations, that this is typically very inefficient, since the NULL values ususually takes up some space. However, I read an article (can't find its link unfortunately) that claimed PG doesn't take up data for NULL values, making it better suited for storing sparse data. Create separate "row" and "column" tables, as well as an intermediate table to link them and store the value for the column at that row. I believe this is the more traditional RDMS solution, but there's more complexity and overhead associated with it. I also found PostgreDynamic, which claims to better support sparse data, but I don't want to switch my entire database server to a PG fork just for this feature. Are there any other solutions? Which one should I use?

  I'm trying to accomplish an undock effect for a custom Swing JComponent. By default the component is used inside a form along with other components. I want to be able to maximize this component to use the whole screen and then be able to dock it again.   I want my Food class to be able to test whenever it is equal to another class. I will later use it against a List, and I want to use its List.Contains() method. Should I implement IEquatable or just override Object.Equals()? From MSDN: This method determines equality by using the default equality comparer, as defined by the object's implementation of the IEquatable.Equals method for T (the type of values in the list). • What is good server performance monitoring software for Windows?

  I'm looking for some software to monitor a single server for performance alerts. Preferably free and with a reasonable default configuration. Edit: To clarify, I would like to run this software on a Windows machine and monitor a remote Windows server for CPU/memory/etc. usage alerts (not a single application). Edit: I suppose its not necessary that this software be run remotely, I would also settle for something that ran on the server and emailed me if there was an alert. It seems like Windows performance logs and alerts might be used for this purpose somehow but it was not immediately obvious to me. • Increase file upload size limit in iis6

  Is there any other place besides the metabase.xml file where the file upload size can be modified? I am currently running a staging server with IIS6 and it is setup to allow uploading of files up to 20mb. This works perfectly fine. I have a new production server where I am trying to setup this same available size limit. So I edited the metabase.xml file and set it to 20971520. Then I restarted IIS and that didn't work. So I then restarted the entire server, that also didn't work. I can upload files around 2mb so it is definitely allowing file sizes larger then the standard 200kb default size. I try uploading a 5mb file and my upload.aspx page completely crashes. Is it possible there is something else I need to configure? The production server is located on a server farm, could there be some limits set on there end? Thanks

• LocalUser access for WCF hosted in IIS

  I have tried every combination to allow unauthenticated access to WCF as in "LocalUser" accounts, in IIS without success. Here is what I've most recently tried: wsHttpBinding with Message security and mode set to "None". IIS anonymous access enabled, all others disabled, folder level access at default (but granted read access to "Users" which is all users in our domain). I understand I may not have provided enough information to solve the issue, but perhaps somebody can point me in the right direction - is this likely to be a IIS configuration issue or a WCF configuration issue... if WCF, is it likely to be a client level or server level issue? The error I get when attempting to access here is "User is not authenticated". We have ASMX services in the domain which are behaving properly, I am the first developer using WCF here.

• XAMPP is caching .html files running as PHP

  I have XAMPP (latest version) installed on my Mac OS 10.6.3 I've added the following to .htaccess because I want .html to be interpreted as PHP. AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .html The problem is that the default XAMPP config seems to be caching .html files as static... so even though the PHP statements inside are being called (for example, 'echo time()' in index.html displays the dynamic output)... the actual file is being cached. When I make changes to a .html file, I've having to restart Apache for it to load the newest changes. Looking at httpd.conf, it looks like it's loading the following cache mods.. LoadModule file_cache_module modules/mod_file_cache.so LoadModule cache_module modules/mod_cache.so LoadModule disk_cache_module modules/mod_disk_cache.so LoadModule mem_cache_module modules/mod_mem_cache.so Any idea how to implement a system whereby it checks the timestamp of the file, before loading it from cache?   Question is about paths and domains: I have an out-of-the box ASP.NET MVC project (generated by "File-New Project"). On LogOn page it does: return Redirect("~/Account/LogOn");. I have a domain name: mycompany.com, and following file structure on the server: /Root /MyApp (this is where my app goes into) Default.aspx ... I have set up following domain pointer: mycompany.com -> \MyApp When I go to mycompany.com I get an error, something about can't find mycompany.com/MyApp/MyApp/Account/LogOn Question: Where does second /MyApp path element comes from? Note: If I don't use domain pointer and deploy the site to the root - everything works just fine. Note: My hosting provider is webhost4life.com.

• NAVT WordPress Plugin - Not working on index.php

  Hi there, I need to move my wordpress home page onto the actual index.php file but for some bizarre reason the NAVT plugin doesn't work on there. It also doesn't work on index.php when I put it in the header.php file. It works on all other pages as normal. ALSO, it does work in the footer.php file when viewing the index.php file so this is what makes it all the more confusing. Any ideas what it could be? I've disabled every other plugin so I'm pretty sure there's nothing conflicting. It's rather basic setup and I'm using NAVT default settings. Thanks, Michael.

• Static Class Variables in Dynamic Library and Main Program

  I am working on a project that has a class 'A' that contains a static stl container class. This class is included in both my main program and a .so file. The class uses the default(implicit, not declared) constructor/destructor. The main program loads the .so file using dlopen() and in its destructor, calls dlclose(). The program crashes after main exits when glibc calls the destructor for the static class member variable. The problem appears to be that when dlclose() is called, the destructor for the static variable is called, then when main exits() glibc also calls the destructor, resulting in a double free. I have 2 questions, namely: 1) In this particular case, why are there not two copies of the static variable(yes i know that sounds somewhat ridiculous, but since both the main program and .so file have a separately compiled 'A', shouldn't they each have one?) 2) Is there any way to resolve this issue without re-writing class 'A' to not contain static member variables?

  I have a custom implementation of IResourceProvider and ResourceProviderFactory. Now the default way of making sure ASP.NET uses these custom types is to use the web.config and specify the factory like so: <globalization resourceProviderFactoryType="Product.Globalization.TranslationResourceProviderFactory" /> This works perfectly, except that in my resource provider I need database access. I want to use my IoC-container(Ninject) to inject the repositories needed to access this data into the CustomResourceProvider. But how am I going to do this? I have no control over the instantiation of the factory, so the factory can't get a reference to my IoC. Is there any way to register a custom provider programmatically, in for example the Global.asax?

  Sorry for the vague title but I really didn't know what title to give to this problem: I have the following result set: ID Data Culture 1 A nl-NL 2 B nl-NL 3 C nl-NL 4 A en-GB 5 B en-GB 6 A en 7 B en 8 C en 9 D en 10 A nl I would like to mimic the ASP.Net way of resource selection, user Culture (nl-NL) SELECT Data FROM Tbl WHERE Culture = 'nl-NL' Or when there are no results for the specific culture, try the parent Culture (nl) SELECT Data FROM Tbl WHERE Culture = 'nl' Or when there are no results for the parent culture, try the default Culture (en) SELECT Data FROM Tbl WHERE Culture = 'en' How can I combine these SELECT-statements in one T-SQL statement? I'm using LINQ so a LINQ expression would be even greater. The OR-statement won't work, because I don't want a mix of cultures. The ORDER BY-statement won't help, because it returns multiple records per culture.

  Following is from pylint docs: --ignore=<file> Add <file or directory> to the black list. It should be a base name, not a path. You may set this option multiple times. [current: %default] Yet I'm not having luck getting the directory part work. I have directory called migrations, which has django-south migration files. As I enter --ignore=migrations it still keeps giving me the errors/warnings in files inside migrations directory. Could it be that --ignore is not working for directories? If I could even use regexp to match the ignored files it would work, since django-south files are all named 0001_something, 0002_something...

  I've done some searching, but can't seem to find a way to do this. We'd like to proactively monitor our permgen space via JMX. It seems the best way to do this is through the UsageThreshold attribute on the "PS Perm Gen" MemoryPool. By default, this is set to 0. Is there a way to specify this, or any JMX attribute, as a -D parameter to VM so this can be set automatically at startup? Or is there another mechanism to load JMX attributes automatically? Thanks.

  Hi there, In our compass mapping, we're boosting "better" documents to push them up in the list of search results. Something like this: <boost name="boostFactor" default="1.0"/> <property name="name"><meta-data>name</meta-data></property> While this works fine for fulltext search, it does not when doing a field search, e.g. the boost is ignored when searching something like name:Peter Is there any way to enable boosting for field searches?
