  • Non-blocking MySQL updates with java?

    For a multiplayer game I'm working on I'd like to record events to the mysql database without blocking the game update thread so that if the database is busy or a table is locked the game doesn't stop running while it waits for a write. What's the best way to accomplish this? I'm using c3p0 to manage the database connection pool. My best idea so far is to add query update strings to a synchronized list with an independent thread checking the list every 100ms and executing the queries it finds there.

    I have one class that controls one window, and another class that controls a different window in the same xib, however, the second window never displays what it should. In the first class I alloc and init the second class, then pass some information to it. In the second class it displays that data in the table view.     I'm trying to build a rather specific query to find a set of user_ids based on topics they have registered to. Unfortunately it's not possible to refactor the tables so I have to go with what I've got. Single table with user_id and registration_id I need to find all user_ids that have a registration_id of (4 OR 5) AND NOT 1 Each row is a single user_id/registration_id combination. My SQL skills aren't the best, so I'm really scratching my brain. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I have a table that contains the next columns: ip(varchar 255), index(bigint 20), time(timestamp) each time something is inserted there, the time column gets current timestamp. I want to run a query that returns all the rows that have been added in the last 24 hours. This is what I try to execute: SELECT ip, index FROM users WHERE ip = 'some ip' AND TIMESTAMPDIFF(HOURS,time,NOW()) < 24 And it doesn't work. Can someone help me out? Thanks :)

Now in my test class I intanciated User added the values like : User user = new User; user.setAddress("some address"); and so I did for all 15 fields, than at the end of assigning data to User object I called in DAO to save that to database UsersDao.save(user); and save works just perfectly. My question is how do I update/delete users using the same logic? Fox example I tried this(to delete user from table users): User user = new User; user.setUserID("1s54f"); // which is unique key for users no two keys are the same UsersDao.delete(user); I wanted to delete user with this key but its obviously different can someone explain please how to do these. thank you

Then I drag the outlet from the table to the files owner and hook it up to an outlet variable in my main view, which is of the same type as my derived class. How do I also set up the datasource and delegate so that they belong to the derived class?

    i create a view table like : CREATE VIEW ViewManager AS SELECT us.UserId AS 'Account Manager', ......... after that, when i run a query to select data from this view like : SELECT 'Account Manager' , .. from ViewManager then the data i get in this column is the text 'Account Manager' and not the value of the this columns. Is there a way to solve this ? Of course I can change the field name , but i want to know if there is another solution, thanks.
