• Change compilation flags in Qt under Mac OS X?

  I installed Qt for Mac, and am compiling my Qt project after adding in the .Pro file CONFIG(release, debug|release):QMAKE_CXXFLAGS += -O3 -fomit-frame-pointer to optimize for speed. However, I always see that the command where g++ is ran, includes -Os, which optimizes for size. I would like to remove it. I tried several approaches, like CONFIG(release, debug|release):QMAKE_CFLAGS_RELEASE -= -Os CONFIG(release, debug|release):QMAKE_CXXFLAGS -= -Os and CONFIG(release, debug|release):QMAKE_CXXFLAGS = -O3 -fomit-frame-pointer CONFIG(release, debug|release):QMAKE_CFLAGS_RELEASE = -O3 -fomit-frame-pointer (no +) But nothing. -Os ALWAYS appear. How do I change this? I found the qmake.conf file under /usr/local/QT4.5/mkspecs. It includes a mac-g++.conf file, but I cannot change it, and chmod doesn't work: chmod: mac-g++.conf: Operation not permitted Any ideas?

  Let's say I asked Microsoft to describe the perfect, modern, Microsoft-based technology stack to power a standard e-commerce web site, which perhaps has a simple 2-tier web/database architecture. What would it be like? Yes, I'm just looking for a list of product / technology names. For example, in the J2EE world, I might describe a stack that includes: J2EE 6 standard JavaServer Faces Glassfish 3 MySQL 5.1.x I'm guessing this stack includes some combination of .NET, SQL Server, ASP.NET, IIS, etc. but I am not familiar with this world. Looking for ideas on the equivalent in Microsoft-land.

• Generating VS 2005 .vcproj's by hand

  I'm working on a script that generates Visual Studio 2005 C++ project files (.vcproj). The script reads a makefile, then spits out a c++ project. INPUT: makefile --- OUTPUT: VS 2005 c++ project (.vcproj) However, when I try to build the auto-generated project in VS 2005, error outputs: "Unspecified Error." Evidently, I am not generating the VS 2005 .vcproj file correctly. Assuming that my c++ project file was malformed, I opened up VS 2005 and made a new C++ project. I actually copied the good, VS 2005-created project file to my non-working, malformed project file. I replaced the Name, Reference Includes (.libs), Compile Includes (.cc, .c), etc. in the good VS 2005 project with my malformed project file's information. However, I still cannot get VS 2005 to compile my .vcproj. Perhaps VS 2005 is very particular about the content of its .vcproj's? Please give me advice on how to manually generate a VS 2005 .vcproj. • How do quickly search through a .csv file in Python

  I'm reading a 6 million entry .csv file with Python, and I want to be able to search through this file for a particular entry. Are there any tricks to search the entire file? Should you read the whole thing into a dictionary or should you perform a search every time? I tried loading it into a dictionary but that took ages so I'm currently searching through the whole file every time which seems wasteful. Could I possibly utilize that the list is alphabetically ordered? (e.g. if the search word starts with "b" I only search from the line that includes the first word beginning with "b" to the line that includes the last word beginning with "b") I'm using import csv. (a side question: it is possible to make csv go to a specific line in the file? I want to make the program start at a random line) Edit: I already have a copy of the list as an .sql file as well, how could I implement that into Python?

  Hello, I feel silly asking this but I've searched for 'include problems' and have only come up with basic stuff. I'm working with an API that includes/imports in their header files (ARGH! HATE ANGER DESTRUCTION). One of these Obj-C files #import "OpenGL/CGLMacros.h" which #define's things like glMatrixMode(...); In my code I need the glMatrixMode(...); from #include "OpenGL/gl.h" but it won't access it! I can't edit the headers from the (poorly) coded API to put the includes in their definition files. What can I do? If the CGLMacros.h file starts out like /* Copyright: (c) 1999 by Apple Computer, Inc., all rights reserved. */ #ifndef _CGLMACRO_H #define _CGLMACRO_H Can I put a #define _CGLMACRO_H before I include the offending API header file? -Stephen

• Is there a DRMAA Java library that works with Torque/PBS?

  Does anybody know a Java implementation of the DRMAA-API that is known to work with PBS/Torque cluster software? The background behind this: I would like to submit jobs to a newly set-up linux cluster from java using a DRMAA compliant API. The cluster is managed by PBS/Torque. Torque includes PBS DRMAA 1.0 library for Torque/PBS that contains a DRMA-C binding and provides in libdrmaa.so and .a binaries. I know that Sun grid engine includes a drmaa.jar providing a Java-DRMAA API. In fact I opted to use SGE but it was decided to try PBS first. The theory behind that decision was: 'DRMAA is a standard and therefore a Java API needs only a standards compliant drmaa-c binding.' However, I couldn't find such 'general DRMAA-C-java API' and now assume that this assumption is wrong and that the Java libraries are engine specific. Are we stuck here? Any comments appreciated.

• Include everything, Separate with "using"

  I'm developing a C++ library. It got me thinking of the ways Java and C# handle including different components of the libraries. For example, Java uses "import" to allow use of classes from other packages, while C# simply uses "using" to import entire modules. My questions is, would it be a good idea to #include everything in the library in one massive include and then just use the using directive to import specific classes and modules? Or would this just be down right crazy? EDIT: Good responses so far, here are a few mitigating factors which I feel add to this idea: 1) Internal #includes are kept as normal (short and to the point) 2) The file which includes everything is optionally supplied with the library to those who wish to use it3) You could optionally make the big include file part of the pre-compiled header

  I'm creating a Jasper report that includes the following parameters: DATESTART (Date) DATEEND (Date) These parameters indicate a date range for a field called DATECREATED (Timestamp) which includes times. I would like the date range to be INCLUSIVE, that is, if I filter for "Jan 1, 2009" to "Jan 31, 2009", any DATECREATED value on Jan 31, 2009 (such as "Jan 31, 2009 15:00") will be included in the report. When I used Crystal Reports in the past, I used the DATEADD function to create a filter expression like the following: {DATECREATED} >= {DATESTART} and {DATECREATED} < DATEADD("d", 1, {DATEEND}) (I realize that this isn't syntactically correct, but you get the idea.) Is there any way to do something similar in Jasper Reports?

  I have see a lot of competing theories about hierarchical queries in fluent-nHibernate or even basic nHibernate and how they're a difficult beast. Does anyone have any knowledge of good resources on the subject. I find myself needing to do queries similar to: (using a file system analog) select folderObjects from folders where folder.Permissions includes :myPermissionLevel or [any of my ancestors] includes :myPermissionLevel This is a one to many tree, no node has multiple parents. I'm not sure how to describe this in nHibernate specific terms or, even sql-terms. I've seen the phrase "nested sets" mentioned, is this applicable? I'm not sure. Can anyone offer any advice on approaches to writing this sort of nHibernate query?

• ASP.NET How expensive is it to call an Application Variable many times?

  The short of it is: Is it costly to check an Application Variable such as Application("WebAppName") more 10-20 times each time a page loads? Background: (feel free to critique) Some includes in my site contain many links and images which cannot use relative urls due to their inclusion in different paths. Hence these includes contain frequent instances of <img src="<%=Application("Webroot")%>images\image.gif"> Is it expensive to keep calling an Application variable like this? Should I just put the Application value in some local variable to use where needed? IMPORTANT NOTE: I need my webapp to run fine on a server whether it be in the root web ("/") or in a virtual subweb ("/app"). Thanks in advance for any wisdom shared.

  Hi, I'm currently working with an massive PHP codebase, witch is completely undocumented. Here's the deal. All of the PHP code is included every page call. They build a simple include all kinda function that scan's the directory and includes all PHP files it can find. It works recursively for all the subfolders. I would like to know what functions are used in what files and from which files those functions came. I need to know this in order to switch to normale includes. Also it gives me more information about not used functions and files (since it a really old and big codebase, there is a lot of legacy in it). It there a tool or something for PHP that can check this kind of stuff in a codebase?

  I'm editing a text provided by my client as a LyX file that includes graphics and other files that I don't have. I've "commented out" the graphics by putting in a custom preamble that substitutes the file-loading definitions with macros that just quote their arguments. However, the \includegraphic macro throws up an error in the two tabular environments where it is used, complaining that \endfirsthead was never defined. What is this macro, and why is it interfering with mine?   Hi, is there a method in JavaScript by which I can find out the path/uri of the executing script. For example: index.html includes a JavaScript file stuff.js and since stuff.js file depends on ./commons.js, it wants to include it too in the page. Problem is that stuff.js only knows the relative path of ./commons.js from itself and has no clue of full url/path. index.html includes stuff.js file as <script src="http://example.net/js/stuff.js?key=value" /> and stuff.js file wants to read the value of key. How to?

  I have a folder structure that contains multiple javascript files, each of these files need a standard piece of text at the top = //@include "includes.js" Each folder needs to contain a file named includes.js that has an include entry for each file in its directory and and entry for the include file in its parent directory. I'm trying to achive this using ant and its not going too well. So far I have the following, which does the job of inserting the header but not without actually moving or copying the file.   Our application includes a default set of data. The default data includes coefficients and other factors that are unlikely to ever change but still need to be update-able by the user. Currently, the original default data is stored as a populated class within the application. Data updates are stored to an external XML file. This design allows us to include a "reset" feature to restore the original default data. Our rationale for not storing defaults externally [e.g. XML file] was to minimize the risk of being altered. The overall volume of data doesn't warrant a database. Is there a standard practice for storing "default" application data?

• Send Confirmation Email with Google Forms / Spreadsheets

  I know that Google Spreadsheets includes a mass mailout option with its MailApp.sendEmail function, but, as far as I know, it can only run once a form is opened, or by manually clicking "run". I have a Google form which includes an area for someone to put their email address. Is there a simple solution to send this data to its Google Spreadsheet and send it as a confirmation to the specified email address? It would be great if I could somehow incorporate MailApp.sendEmail into the form, instead of into the spreadsheet (which would be after the fact and manual, instead of instant and automatic). Also, note that I will be posting with jQuery. Any ideas?

I'm putting a working live site onto my localhost for dev work. so my site can be seen at the url: example.com or at: localhost/example.com OK. I Have a page at example.com/video/pageone.php On that page, I'm linking to a header by navigating to: <?php include '/home/myserver/public_html/includes/website/website-header.php'; ?> For some reason, This will not work (on the live site): <?php include 'http://www.example.com/includes/website/website-header.php'; ?> Can anyone tell me why 1) The above http address will not work, and 2) how can I make this work in localhost? • Swapping two jQuery draggable list items not working properly (with jsFiddle example)

  The minimalist working example below swaps the two boxes when box 'one' is dragged and dropped on box 'two'. The problem is that when box 'one' is dropped, its style has 'top' & 'left' values causing it to be placed away from where it should drop. Its class includes 'ui-draggable-dragging'. It seems the top & left values are related to the amount the elements were dragged before the drop. And the dragging was 'interrupted' hence the residual 'ui-draggable-dragging' class? • golang dynamically parsing files

  For parsing files i have setup a variable for template.ParseFiles and i currently have to manually set each file. Two things: How would i be able to walk through a main folder and a multitude of subfolders and automatically add them to ParseFiles so i dont have to manually add each file individually?   (edited) I am reading a JSON file that includes some UTF-8 characters that are encoded like this: "\uf36b". I am trying to write a RegExp to convert this to an HTML entity that looks like "&#x1F36B;". This displays the character correctly in my html page. I haven't been able to correctly display the character that should be associated with "\uf36b", especially when in a longer sentence that also includes other text. How can I write a regexp that replaces strings like "\uf4d6" and "\uf36b" but leaves other text alone? Example: var str = "I need \uf36b #chocolate"; This should be converted to: I need &#x1F36B; #chocolate;
