• How to navigate to connected iPhone? Filesystem path to `afc://`?

  When I connect my iPhone to Ubuntu 11.10, it gets automounted as afc://ca60751cc4b1ebb427c2f9da324914b0643a21f8/ and I can see that there are photos stored in afc://ca60751cc4b1ebb427c2f9da324914b0643a21f8/DCIM/103APPLE. I would like to use programs to access these photo files, but they don't accept the afc:// protocol -- they accept only normal file system paths. Is there a "normal file system equivalent" to afc:// paths?

• Ubuntu not booting after install from USB (kernel panic?)

  After booting fine frome a live USB I installed it and everything was going swimmingly but when I try to boot from the hard drive it just stops and I have to do a hard reboot. I tried booting into grub as recommended in other questions but it wouldn't work. Here is a photo of the boot once stuck: Same for recovery boot: I've got an Asus K43SJ laptop with an intel i5, 4Gb of RAM, an nVidia GeForce GT 520M and a 750Gb hard drive.

• Allow a web designer to modify DNS without letting them transfer the domain?

  We are in the process of having a web designer create a new website for us, but I don't want to give access to the control panel for the domain names (and have no way to limit it, it seems), while at the same time I don't want to be the go between guy for editing the settings. Is there a way or a service for me to point the domains at a 3rd party DNS system, that I can then give access for the web designer, without worrying that he can find my personal info or try and transfer my domain out?

I uploaded the site to remote server but the slider is not being displayed and the photo from the gallery is not working as expected ( popups on the local pc).   a newbie, installed ubuntu 10.10 about a month ago,over the month i fixed everything from dad playback,to webcam,but couldn't enable compiz anayway,my card is blacklisted, i tried the SKIP_CHECKS=yes,method and even tried ghex editing,but of no avail,now all i get when i run compiz in the terminal is "segmentation fault",the specs of my laptop is intel core i3 2330,and intel hd graphics 3000,has anyone has been able to run compiz on intel hd graphics 3000?

  I get lots of interesting tutorials through feeds and sometimes I implement them step by step, other times I just read through them and note anything that I do not know. When ever I implement them I takes a long time - starting the project, typing the code (as I feel there is no point to copy and paste ), then going back and forth between browser and editing program All in all, I am interested to know how do you learn from the tutorials (I'm no where close to being an expert). Or if you don't use tutorials, is there any other way to learn?

• Minecraft mob spawning coding?

  I recently discovered how to change the game (with MCP) and now I'd like to do my first "big" change to the game, creating new mobs. I already made their skin, the model, the AI and added a new entityID to the mob list. I just need to know how to make them spawn normally under similar conditions to zombies and skeletons. • Nvidia Proprietary Drivers

  I have an X79 motherboard and a GTX 670. I have tried to install every combination of Ubuntu 11.10, 12.04, 12.10, Linux Mint 13 and the Nvidia Driver 304.43, 295.xx, etc. I have read everything and pretty much tried everything...drivers from the site, PPAs, some random scripts, editing the xorg.conf file. It has been four days of futile effort. Should I just wait...or something? Has anyone gotten hardware like this to work?

  I have this problem after damage I think hit the OS GNU GRUB version 1.99-21ubuntu3 Minimal bash-like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists possible command completions. Anywhere else TAB lists possible device or file completions. I read the thread that was posted before but I don't have an ubuntu cd because I used "windows installer" ..... please don't tell me to uninstall it and install it again because I have important files and I don't want to lose. please help
