  • replace new lines with comas in shell

    I want to replace new lines in text with coma or space but do not change the last new line. I know of this question: How to replace new lines with tab characters - but it does produce an tab on end instead of new line. So far I have come with: awk 'NR>1{printf","} {printf $1} END{printf"\n"}' Is there an easier way to do this? This is not an assignment, I am just curious want to level up my scripting.

    I had a regex that replaced all URLs from a given string: my_string = "www.example.com test www.mysite.com" my_string.gsub!(/[a-zA-Z0-9\-\.]+\.(com|net|de|org|uk|biz|info|co.uk|es|de)(\/\S*)?/i,'(site hidden)') As a result of the above I get: "(site hidden) test (site hidden)" How could I change the regex to not replace www.mysite.com ??? It means that the replace should output "(site hidden) test www.mysite.com" Thanks !

    This is theoretical question: is it possible to change FalseClass behavior to act like TrueClass? It is possible to override to_s, xor, &, | behavior but that is not enough. If you like Test Driven Development, follow my colleague's suggestion: puts "false is new true!" if false puts "never happens" if true Asserts won't work, would it? Is it possible to pass the test successfully?

  • My webpage ignores changes in CSS file

    No matter what I change in my .css file, the page remains the same - what's more, neither changing the link tag so that it points to another .css file nor deleting it completely makes no difference. Other changes in html code are applied. The sourcecode of the webpage shows everything as it should be. This behavior started when I redirected the link tag from previous file to the one I use now (plus there have been some changes in the tag while this problem occured, to test the behavior of my webpage); changes in neither file affect the page. For the first time when this happened, this was caused by copies of head tag in included chunks of code (for header, left menu etc. - their head part overrode the head part of the main page) and the problem was solved by removing these redundant heads from these files. But it happened again when I changed the link tag for the next time. I couldn't find any head parts in my included files, but the problem lasts (only solution I can see now is to delete the included files and copy the code directly to the file, but this would mean lots of redundant code). How can I solve this problem, so that my page response to changes in .css files without increasing redundancy? How to ensure that I can change the link to .css file just on one place with no such problems? Do I have to unload the CSS file somehow? I saw this problem both in Firefox and in Chrome. I use PSPad to write the code, just in case it would play role. EDIT: I have cleared browser cache now, and I changed the link to .css files from one to another before, but nothing helped. Now I accept the best answer saying the problem is in caching and I start a related question to find out how to solve the caching issue. If the other question's answers would say that in this case I can be sure that problem isn't in caching (very unlikely, but fail of ordinary methods of caching-problems-solving is unlikely too), I'd update this question and start searching for other possible problems, but now the message seems to be clear: when webpage ignores changes in .css files, caching is to blame.

(its a legacy application, and now I can't go and change the code) Is there any way where I can store the session object some where and later GET BACK THE SAME STATE in a STANDALONE application. My resolution that I am working on is 1024x768..but the computer that I am going to be running this program on is a wide screen..1280x768. I try to change it in properties but it keeps defaulting back to 1036x760.

  • How do I remove database name from SQL Server generated script?

    Anytime I use 'script table as' - 'Insert To' (or other command), the script generated automatically places the database name in the script. Such as: INSERT INTO [DatabaseName].[dbo].[tblToBeInserted] ... While not a huge problem to just delete it, it has slipped by a few times and the script breaks if run on a different server with a different database name but has the same schema. (Such as running on [DatabaseName.Test]) Is there an option I can change, or can I modify the output in any way to remove this?

  • TableView Background image going over cell textLabel

    Currently my tableview looks like this: as you can see, cell.textLabel and cell.detailTextLable both load this background, and i can't work out how to get them to stop loading the background, and for it only to be the backing on the cell. Here's my current code to change the cell: - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView willDisplayCell:(UITableViewCell *)cell forRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { [cell setBackgroundColor:[UIColor colorWithPatternImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"tableCell.png"]]]; } How can i get round this problem?     Looking for a way to rename files that are uploaded by users through a filefield. For example, rename user profile photos using uniqid. I found a good solution for D6 here: http://www.wesjones.net/home/2011/03/drupal-6-how-to-change-filename-on-upload but can't find anything for D7. Another option is to use File (Field) Paths, but (1) the module causes warnings on my setup and (2) seems to be a bit of an overkill to install a general module for a very specific purpose.
