  Hi guys, I need to make an authentication script in php. I have already made a login.php page, where the user can enter his unsername/password and it gets checked against a database. If the unsername/password are correct, the user should be forwarded to members.php page together with a $_SERVER['username'] variable. What is the command in PHP to go to another webpage, in this case members.php ? in pseudocode I see it like this: if ( unsername/password are OK ) { $_SERVER['username'] = $username; goto(members.php); } Thanks!

• JQuery Validate Dynamic Table

  I'm using the JQuery validation plug to validate my entire form. I also have a dynamic table on my registration page where the user can register more people. I can validate the rest of the form fine but my goal is to validate the table inputs just the same. Here is my jfiddle code: tables I don't know why the add line won't work there but it definitely works on my page. Anyway, that code ends up validate ONLY the first row of my table, but I want it to validate every single row. Can anyone see any problems with the code?

• How to check if a server runs in pressing mode

  Hi there, Layout: i have at customer side a server (win2003 R2 SP2 standard edition 32-bit) with a sql-server 2005 and some databases. This system starts with the /3GB-Switch. The system reports 3.25 GB RAM and taskmanager reports the process of sqlserver.exe with 2758255 K as the process with the highest consumption. The OS separates RAM for applications and for itself, normaly 50:50. But here we have the /3GB-Switch aktivated and i think the part for the applications is more than 50% of RAM. Knowledge (or better not knowledge): Somebody told me that if the OS runs out of memory within his part of RAM, the server runs into pressing mode. Questions: What is this pressing mode? Is pressing mode possible at all in this szenario? What should be done to get more performance out of this sql-server, beside optimizing the database and all this stuff.

  I've made a web application that has the following architecture: Every form is a UserControl, there is just one actual page (Default.aspx), and a parameter in the URL specifies which UserControl to load. The UserControl is loaded in an UpdatePanel so that it can enjoy full AJAX-iness. There is also an elaborate message displaying mechanism that I use. Eventually messages end up in one designated area on top of the Default.ASPX with some nice formatting 'n stuff. Now, I would also like to capture any unhandled exceptions that originate in the UserControl and display it in this area with all the bells-and-whistles that I've made for messages. How can I do this? The Page.Error and ScriptManager.AsyncPostBackError somehow don't work for me...

• Is it possible to register a user and submit a comment with one form with Wordpress?

  Is it possible to do both registering for an account and submit a comment at the same time? I want the user to be able to do this all on one page to ecourage the registration rather than be discouraged about typing something, not realizing they had to be registered and thus having to leave the page. I think that this could be done by adding register user action to the submit comment action, but not sure how to do it with the prebuilt wordpress add_action or do_action functions. Has anyone tried this, or know of any plug-ins that do this already? I searched but couldn't find anything helpful. Thanks.

• Ignoring unclosed tags from another <div>?

  I have a website where members can input text using a limited subset of HTML. When a page is displayed that contains a user's text, if they have any unclosed tags, the formatting "bleeds" across into the next area. For example, if the user entered: Hi, my name is <b>John Then, the rest of the page will be bold. Ideally, there'd be someting I could do that would be this simple: <div contained>Hi, my name is <b>John</div> And no tags could bleed out of that div. Assuming there isn't anything this simple, how would I accomplish a similar effect? Or, is there something this easy? Importantly, I do not want to validate the user's input and return an error if they have unclosed tags, since I want to provide the "easiest" user interface possible for my users. Thanks!

  I am trying to build a simple java program which creates a db file, then a table and inserts dummy values in the table. • ASMX Web Service - "This web service is using http://tempuri.org/ as its default namespace." message

  I've created a web service using Visual Studio ( 2005 - I know I'm old school ) and it all compiles fine but when it opens I get warned thus: This web service does not conform to WS-I Basic Profile v1.1. And furthermore: This web service is using http://tempuri.org/ as its default namespace. Which would be fine except my service begins thus: [WebService(Namespace = "http://totally-not-default-uri.com/servicename")] Searching the entire solution folder for "tempuri" returns nothing. I can't find it mentioned in any configuration page acessible from Visual Studio. And yet it's right there in the wsdl:definitions list for the xmlns:tns attribute on the web service descriptor page when I view it through the browser and as targetNamespace in the same tag. I'm viewing it using Visual Studio's "debug" mode with the built in server from that. Seems like something has got cached somewhere but I can't work out what and where- I've tried stopping and restarting the server, cleaning and rebuilding the service and going through the associated text config files with a text editor but no dice. Any idea what is going on?

  Hi, I am using Net Beans for developing an application on S60. I made one page for user authentication and using .net wcf service to authenticate user. i am able to send data on .net service by HttpGet method but not able to get response back on java page. I have tested it on fiddler with this url its working fine and returning response code 200, but not getting response code by java code. Following code i am using. • javascript memory leak

  I have a some javascript (used with google maps api) that I am testing on IE and Chrome and noticed memory leak symptoms in IE only: when I refresh the page continuously, the amount of memory used in IE keeps growing (fast), but in Chrome it stays constant. Without posting all of the code (as it is rather long), can I get some suggestions as to what to look out for? What could cause the memory to keep growing like this in IE on page refreshes? Like I said I know its hard without code, but I'd like to see if any generic advice works first. Thanks.

• Ubuntu dual boot and grub error 18

  I've attempted to install 9.04 on an older toshiba laptop with a new 300GB drive and am getting the dreaded Grub error 18 that indicates that grub is looking beyond the bios readable area of the HD and failing. I just let ubuntu roll with its default selections when installing and ended up with this: Drive layout /dev/sda1 -ntfs 128GB -boot /dev/sda2 -extended 170GB -lba /dev/sda5 -ntfs 167.59GB /dev/sda6 -ext3 2.33GB /dev/sda7 -linux-swap 172MB I'd like make the system dual bootable without having to reinstall windows (real pain since I would have to go through an obstructionist IT dept). I know I can make windows bootable with a rescue disk and fixmbr but is there something I can do to make it dual bootable using the ubuntu livecd? Alternately, what should I have done at the partition stage of ubuntu installation to avoid this?

• Code in Global.asax prevents webpage from loading

  I've made a static class to hold a number of configuration values (and also swap these values out in unit tests). If I initialise it in the Global.asax, the code runs correctly but the page doesn't load at all, and trying to navigate to a specific page fails. I can't initialise the values in a constructor or inline on the field declarations, because I need to be able to swap the values out in unit tests before the web.config is interrogated. Basically, putting the one line "ConfigClass.SetValues()" in the Global.asax prevents the app from loading correctly (although, as I say, it runs the code fine) and removing it again makes the app load properly - but without the class values initialised. As an aside, I'm sure I had this working correctly and being initialised in the Global.asax yesterday. I'm positive I didn't take any action to change or break it... Does anyone have advice on how I might track down what's going on here? Was I mistaken that it worked before (always possible) and that I need to go back and redesign something?

• File paths with XSLT includes

  Hi again everyone. I'm working on a website with a large number of pages, and each one has this in it: <xsl:include href="team-menu.xsl" /> This xsl file is stored in the root directory. Essentially including my "team menu" on each page. My problem is when I include this on nested pages, e.g. "/teammembers/smith.xsl", the links in the menu are broken because they refer to pages that aren't in the same directory as the page i'm viewing. This is probably really easy, but I just don't know how to fix it. Is there a way to tell the XSL the root directory and/or set some sort of global directory? Thanks for your help!

Within the Standalone Application a web browser needs to be opened, going to a page within the Web Application. This page is for authorized users only.   Hi, I am running a query using a scope and some conditions. Something like this: conditions[:offset] = (options[:page].to_i - 1) * PAGE_SIZE unless options[:page].blank? conditions[:limit] = options[:limit] ||= PAGE_SIZE scope = Promo.enabled.active results = scope.all conditions I'd like to add a computed column to the query (at the point when I'm now calling scope.all). Something like this: (ACOS(least(1,COS(0.71106459055501)*COS(-1.2915436464758)*COS(RADIANS(addresses.lat))*COS(RADIANS(addresses.lng))+ COS(0.71106459055501)*SIN(-1.2915436464758)*COS(RADIANS(addresses.lat))*SIN(RADIANS(addresses.lng))+ SIN(0.71106459055501)*SIN(RADIANS(addresses.lat))))*3963.19) as accurate_distance Is there a way to do that without just using find_by_sql and rewriting the whole existing query? • GMap in iframe gets off-center

  I have a Google Map (API 2) that used to work fine as a standalone page. However, when I load the map page within an iframe (with Thickbox), the map gets off-center: normally it's centered over Germany and in the iframe it centers on Iran, instead. How to make the map center correctly? My guesses: The problem can result from the iframe loading time. I guess, that the script calculates window size basing on the iframe size when it's still loading. • ASP.NET MVC : Good Replacement for User Control?

  I found user controls to be incredibly useful when working with ASP.NET webforms. By encapsulating the code required for displaying a control with the markup, creation of reusable components was very straightforward and very, very useful. While MVC provides convenient separation of concerns, this seems to break encapsulation (ie, you can add a control without adding or using its supporting code, leading to runtime errors). Having to modify a controller every time I add a control to a view seems to me to integrate concerns, not separate them. I'd rather break the purist MVC ideology than give up the benefits of reusable, packaged controls. I need to be able to include components similar to webforms user controls throughout a site, but not for the entire site, and not at a level that belongs in a master page. These components should have their own code not just markup (to interact with the business layer), and it would be great if the page controller didn't need to know about the control. Since MVC user controls don't have codebehind, I can't see a good way to do this. • How do I parse an XML file that's on a different web server?

  I have a list of training dates saved into an XML file, and I have a little javascript file that parses all of the training dates and spits them out into a neatly formatted page. This solution was fine until we decided that we wanted another web-page on another sever to access the same XML file. Since I cannot use JavaScript to parse an XML file that's located on another server, I figured I'd just use an ASP script. • Comparing lists of objects and update

  I have a view, passing a LIST of Originals to this method. Before the post happened, i changed some of the properties. I now receive the updated list as a parameter in my method and would like to update the database with these new values. [HttpPost] public ActionResult NewValue(Page model) { var ListOfOriginals = Session.Query<Original>().ToList(); //GETS the objects i want to update listOfOriginals = Model.Pages // Model.page is the new list containing the updated values RavenSession.SaveChanges(); return RedirectToAction("Index"); } When i debug, i can see that listOfOriginals gets the new values. The problem is that i dont know how to update the RavenDB whith these new values. I tried adding this: Session.Store(listOfOriginals) before the SaveChanges() but that resulted in an error. Maybe there is a much better way of doing this?

• touchesMoved QuartzDemo application

  I am modifying the QuartzDemo application to include swipe detection while UIView is active (a PDF page being displayed in it via Quartz). This will not work, the event never gets to the QuartzView.m because it sits under scrollview? touchesBegan works fine and I can use single tap. How can I go about with catching touchesMoved while PDF page is being displayed? I need a simple example with code that does nothing on touchesMoved, I'll build up on that later. Please keep in mind that I still want to use the UIScrollview as it is and show PDF content based on selection in that scrollview.
