• Any good Open Source or Cheap ASP.NET Catalog Applications

  We're looking for a cheap-to-free "off the shelf" ASP.NET catalogue application, that will meet the following requirements: Support two kinds of listings: Suppliers of Services Suppliers of Products, and their Products Suppliers can be categorised by: Area of specialisation - including sub-categories Location Other data, e.g. where listing came from Versioning of supplier/product details Easy to use management interface Use masterpages so we can drop it into our existing site layout Run on a Windows 2003 server, with .NET 3.5 installed In an ideal world, the following additional requirements might be met: Suppliers can manage their own listings Other products that are available to us (that will obviously need some additional development to meet these requirements) are: Content Management System (MS) Commerce Server - bear in mind we're not selling the products/suppliers, just listing them Simple DB application. I'm happy to knock something up in MCMS/simple DB, I'm just looking to see if anyone's had any experience with off the shelf apps that could save us some time.   I try to write a simple Ajax client to send and receive messages. It's successfully deployed but I have never received msg from the client. I am beating myself to think out what I am missing, but still can't make it work. Here is my code: I creat a dynamic web application named: ActiveMQAjaxService and put activemq-web.jar and all neccessary dependencies in the WEB-INF/lib folder. • Apache deflate with chucked encoding

  I'm expiriencing some problem with one of my data source services. As it says in HTTP response headers it's running on Apache-Coyote/1.1. Server gives responses with Transfer-Encoding: chunked, here sample response: HTTP/1.1 200 OK Server: Apache-Coyote/1.1 Content-Type: text/xml;charset=utf-8 Transfer-Encoding: chunked Date: Tue, 30 Mar 2010 06:13:52 GMT And problem is when I'm requesting server to send gzipped request it often sends not full response. I recieve response, see that last chunk recived, but then after ungzipping I see that response is partial. So my question is: is it common apache issue? maybe one of it's mod_deflate plugins or something? Ask questions if you need more info. Thanks.

  hi! I'm using Drupal Views with an exposed filter (improved with better exposed filters module) based on taxonomy. I have a list of nodes and for each node I assigned several tags. I would like to add the following functionalities to the filter: 1 - when few tags are selected, I would like to disable all tags that are not possible to combine with the selected ones. In other terms, disable a tag if it is not visible in the filtered nodes. In this way I highlight only a subset of tags, to help the user to continue filtering the content. 2 - when I move the mouse over an article I would like to highlight the tags that are associated with such node with a different color. That is, if I selected TAGA, and the node also contains TAGB, and TAGC, I would like to highlight the last 2 tags if I move the mouse over the node. thanks

• .net/iis6 Limitations of the urlMappings in web.config for extensionless url rewriting

  I'm investigating a simple url rewriting setup for iis6 / net 2.0 sites. I've added a . wildcard mapping in IIS that points to the .net executable. I'm also using the urlMappings element in the web.config to add some rewritting urls. I've moved the config outside of the web.config so I can make changes to the list without forcing application restarts, like so: <urlMappings configSource="config\urlMappings.config"> </urlMappings> I'd like to allow our content management to add urls to this file so that we can have extensionless friendly urls. <add url="~/someurl" mappedUrl="index.aspx?page=123" /> This works just fine, but I'm concerned about limitations in the number of entries that I can map in the urlMappings config. I can't seem to find any documentation on this. Has anyone found any limitations? Thanks.

  hey all, im really new to ASP.Net and still havnt got my head round most of the concepts, im really having problems with variable, when creating a desktop application, any variable created in code for example int n = 10; this variable will be there until the program is running right. but in asp iv created variables which are supposed to last until the user gets of that page, so for example say i have a page which takes the users value ( call this variable n say the user type in 10) and every time the user presses the next button the code add 10 to this value. so the first time the user presses the next button n= n + 10; what i have found is no matter how many times i press the next button n will always equal 20, because the previous value is not saved !! these values are populated the first time the user enters that page, once the user clicks the next button the content of these values disappear! how can stop this from happening ?? hope this makes sense !! thanks

  How do I programmatically read an incoming email with .NET. I need a method to take the content of email message (in this case XML) on a POP server and read it into my application. Ideally this could be solved by: .NET code that I can run as a background task on my webserver to process the email. A service that can POST the contents of the email to my webserver. • Editable QTreeView with expandable cells

  Hi everyone, I tried to write an editable table based on QTreeView with wordwraped content in cells which in turn should expand in height (that whole text was visible) like usual cells in tables like in MSWord, but have met insuperable obstacles: first - i can't set fixed cell size. second - i can't make text display in cells wordwraped. For this i used void QTreeWidget::setItemWidget ( QTreeWidgetItem * item, int column, QWidget * widget ), but it works only for readonly solutions. And i haven't come up with any other idea. Can such behavior of QTreeView be realized? And how to solve those problems of mine? Thanks in advance Serge

• Cannot login to drupal in Chrome or Firefox, but Safari works

  Problem: Login is not working in Firefox and Chrome but it does in Safari. Details: We just moved a drupal 6 installation to another host and followed some steps: Moved sites/site1/Themes/themeFolder to sites/all/Themes/themeFolder Made these changes in page-node-NNN.tpl.php files (searched all files in themes/themeFolder): 1) find: /oldpath/ replace: /newpath/ 2) find: oldsubdomain. replace: www. 3) find: .com/sites/ replace: .com/newpath/sites/ Then as I login it fails in any browser when the wrong information is entered but when it is correct it simply redirects to that users profile page...and then nothing. There are no admin menus, no edit buttons for content and it is a though it authenticated but somehow never stored anything that would help with the authentication later. The strange thing is that for 3 people with three different systems Firefox and Chrome don't work. But Safari does. We have ruled out that it is the database or old cookies. Any one have a good guess?

  More often than I like when designers edit some of our sites' pages, they include javascript or an external image our SSL pages that are not encrypted. For example if we have a page like this: https://www.example.com/cart/EnterCreditCard And the designer includes some non-encrypted image like this: <img src='http://www.cardprocessor.com/logo.gif' /> Of course, this creates errors in all browsers: IE: Do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely? Firefox: Connection Partially Encrypted Chrome: (I forget this message) What I'm looking for is a tool or plugin that lets me easily see what objects are not encrypted. A firefox extension or something along those lines would be great.

• Generating VS 2005 .vcproj's by hand

  I'm working on a script that generates Visual Studio 2005 C++ project files (.vcproj). The script reads a makefile, then spits out a c++ project. INPUT: makefile --- OUTPUT: VS 2005 c++ project (.vcproj) However, when I try to build the auto-generated project in VS 2005, error outputs: "Unspecified Error." Evidently, I am not generating the VS 2005 .vcproj file correctly. Assuming that my c++ project file was malformed, I opened up VS 2005 and made a new C++ project. I actually copied the good, VS 2005-created project file to my non-working, malformed project file. I replaced the Name, Reference Includes (.libs), Compile Includes (.cc, .c), etc. in the good VS 2005 project with my malformed project file's information. However, I still cannot get VS 2005 to compile my .vcproj. Perhaps VS 2005 is very particular about the content of its .vcproj's? Please give me advice on how to manually generate a VS 2005 .vcproj. I made the follow export : expdp system/password directory=dpump_dir dumpfile=tablesdump.dmp content=DATA_ONLY tables=user.tablename and it works, I can see the file TABLESDUMP.DMP in the directory path. then when I tried to import it to a sql file: impdp system/password directory=dpump_dir dumpfile=tablesdump.dmp sqlfile=tables_export.sql the log show : ..... ORA-31655 no data or metadata objects selected for job ..... and the sql file is created empty in the directory path. I'm not DBA, I'm a Java developer , Can you help me? Thks

• Should I worry about reigning in namespace number/length/scope?

  I've recently reorganized a solution-in-progress from 24 projects to 4. To keep the copious files organized in the "main" project, things are in folders in folders in folders. I think I've preserved a logical, discoverable arrangement of the solution content. As a result, of course, I end up with namespaces like AppName.DataAccess.NHibernate.Fluent.Mappings. Is there any compelling reason that I should care about flattening out the namespace hierarchy when my project has a somewhat deeply nested folder structure? (I am not concerned about resolving or managing using directives; I let ReSharper do all the heavy lifting here.)

• Working with a Java Mail Server for Testing

  I'm in the process of testing an application that takes mail out of a mailbox, performs some action based on the content of that mail, and then sends a response mail depending on the result of the action. I'm looking for a way to write tests for this application. Ideally, I'd like for these tests to bring up their own mail server, push my test emails to a folder on this mail server, and have my application scrape the mail out of the mail server that my test started. Configuring the application to use the mailserver is not difficult, but I do not know where to look for a programatic way of starting a mail server in Java. I've looked at JAMES, but I am unable to figure out how to start the server from within my test. So the question is this: What can I use for a mail server in Java that I can configure and start entirely within Java?

  Hello all, I have a CATiledLayer into which I render content in the following method - (void)drawLayer:(CALayer *)layer inContext:(CGContextRef)ctx I used the QuartzDemo code to draw a pattern. This works very well until I apply a rotation transform to the layer's parentLayer (a UIView): rotated: These zigzag artefacts become worse when I start drawing lines and texts into the CATiledLayer. I applied the transform as follows (I also tried using an affine transform on the view itself): self.containerView.layer.transform = CATransform3DMakeRotation(angleRadians, 0.0f, 0.0f, 1.0f); I transform the containerView rather than the layer itself, as I have several layers in that view that I would like to rotate at the same time without changing the relative positions. I did not have problems when rotating UIImageViews in the past. Is there a way that I can rotate the CATiledLayer without these problems? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Yours, Felix

  Hi, I want to copy an int array to another int array. They use the same define for length so they'll always be of the same length. What are the pros/cons of the following two alternatives of the size parameter to memcpy()? memcpy(dst, src, ARRAY_LENGTH*sizeof(int)); or memcpy(dst, src, sizeof(dst); Will the second option always work? Regardless of the content? One thing that favors the last one is that if the array were to change, it'll be some house-keeping to update the memcpy()'s. Thanks
