• How do I remove those rotation artefacts from my CATiledLayer?

  Hello all, I have a CATiledLayer into which I render content in the following method - (void)drawLayer:(CALayer *)layer inContext:(CGContextRef)ctx I used the QuartzDemo code to draw a pattern. This works very well until I apply a rotation transform to the layer's parentLayer (a UIView): rotated: These zigzag artefacts become worse when I start drawing lines and texts into the CATiledLayer. I applied the transform as follows (I also tried using an affine transform on the view itself): self.containerView.layer.transform = CATransform3DMakeRotation(angleRadians, 0.0f, 0.0f, 1.0f); I transform the containerView rather than the layer itself, as I have several layers in that view that I would like to rotate at the same time without changing the relative positions. I did not have problems when rotating UIImageViews in the past. Is there a way that I can rotate the CATiledLayer without these problems? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Yours, Felix

  Hi, I want to copy an int array to another int array. They use the same define for length so they'll always be of the same length. What are the pros/cons of the following two alternatives of the size parameter to memcpy()? memcpy(dst, src, ARRAY_LENGTH*sizeof(int)); or memcpy(dst, src, sizeof(dst); Will the second option always work? • Selecting a UserControl from XAML

  I'm working on a problem right now where I need to embed a UserControl inside another UserControl. But, I need to determine at runtime which embedded UserControl to instantiate. This implies to me that some form of data binding and/or template selection mechanism has to be invoked, but I'm not sure how to proceed with the pure XAML approach. If I was to do this with code, I would define some sort of container control in the parent UserControl, and then in the code-behind, implement some logic which would instantiate the appropriate child UserControl and then insert it as Content into the specified container in the parent UserControl. Can this be done using only XAML, or is some sort of code-behind required?

Whenever any visitor visit my blogspot blog through Google, the search search string is tracked through a javascript and the search string is saved in another server (say serverX) Step (2). Now, when another visitor (human/Google Bot/Any downloader/etc..) visits my blog, he/she should be able to see the search string (Saved in ServerX) in my blog (anywhere, be it content or at the bottom of the blog....it doesn't matter) Well, I can code the javascript and can also write a php code to save the search string... but i've absolutely NO idea how to do the step (2) Please tell me how to do Step 2... Do they rely on Internet Explorer being installed, and/or a certain version of it? If you choose another browser on the browser selection screen update for Windows 7, will HTA files still work? Do HTA files open on other browsers? Are HTA files windows-only? There is a huge lack of documentation on google about HTA files, so it's tricky to work out. I need to present the client with a list of minimum requirements to ensure our HTA content CD will work.

• Optimising local image loading/rendering on iPhone

  Hi, I'm looking to create an interface where the user can navigate through large volumes of images. Each image has a thumbnail of 128x128 that I wish to display and will be kind of similar to coverflow in operation. I have this all working in principle but am becoming stuck when navigating through content at speed. The interface begins to stutter and becoming jerky. I believe this is primarily because of disk i/o and the cost of rendering each image. Is there anyway this can be handed over to a seperate thread simply? Defaulting to a greyed out thumbnail until the image has loaded? How have Apple managed to achieve this in coverflow? Many thanks,

  Hi there. I've noticed that to get CSS-Intellisense working in VS, the paths have to be relative - Is this the case? However, it seems <link href="/resources/test.css" [...] /> is far more practical than <link href="resources/test.css" [...] /> I'm including the CSS in the master page, and don't see much good in including it as a content block, just to get the relative paths correct for each directory depth. I've had a quick try with inline code resolving the path, but no dice there either (for Intellisense). I feel I'm missing something fairly simple - What's the correct approach here to have CSS Intellisense work across the pages in the app during dev, and render fine in any deployed state? Cheers. • Convert XML namespace prefixes with C#?

  I have run into an exasperating problem getting a Java service client to communicate successfully with a WCF service. I have overcome many hurdles, and I believe that this is my last one. The problem boils down to how Java Axis + WSS4J seem to handle xml namespaces. The Java platform seem to be very rigid in what they expect for xml namespace prefixes, and as such, do not understand the WCF reply messages. My problem in a nutshell is as follows. I am trying to avoid having to write some heavy-duty process to handle this manually myself, as I do not want to drastically impact the performance of our services when called by a Java Axis/WSS4J client.

  Hello Everyone, After having a search around I could not find exactly what I want, I am looking to validate a form client side using the Jquery library and some form of validation plugin. I was hoping that some one could advise me on whether there are any validation plugins out there that do not use generic error messages, as my form is laid out with no room for these errors, and I also I want the validator to to for correct content as well. Basically I want to be able to check the field on each key press and blur and if the fields validates for it to gain a green border, and if it does not validate for it to gain a red border, any one know of a plugin that can do this? • Evaluating php generated javascript "inline"?

  If you look at the source of this page http://kingston.talking-newspapers.co.uk/ you will see a large amount of inline javascript near the top. I don't really want all this extra stuff floating around in my page source, I'd much rather get it off into a script tag, and then I can minify it and all sorts. If I call it as a php file, this SHOULD work in theory, I just end the js file extension with php instead, and in the header I put the following: header("Content-type:application/x-javascript"); but... a lot of the php variables used to generate the playlist within the javascript are setup at the beginning of the main index.php file, and in calling this php-generated js playlist file like this, it seems to evaluate it entirely separately, so it's full of errors. The only way round it I can think of is to have the page write a file, then immediately read it in. The other thing is, the playlist is likely to change often and dynamically, so I think I need to get minify to NOT cache it?

  I'm designing a simple framework for small websites to be used in an intranet. The websites will all be similar, but there will be a few pages, or controls on pages, that are different. I would like to be able to version and maintain the common framework part of the websites as if they were a regular library - if I need to update CSS then I only have to do it in one place. Can I package-up ASPX files, images and CSS and distribute them like this? What am I missing? My goal is to allow the developers of the few core content pages to get up and running with the websites quickly, with standard styles and images. Thanks!

• IE8 won't load JavaScript file in "Compatibility View."

  Here's my JS insert: <script type="text/javascript" src="include/profile.js"></script> In IE8 with "Compatibility View," the file never loads. The first line in the file is a simple alert() call, so that I know it loaded. Change the browser to Standards View, and it loads fine. Also, if I add: <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=100" > It forces to Standards View and it loads fine. Any idea why this would be the case? I've not been able to test against IE7, but I know the JS file also does not load in IE6. Right now the tag is in the section of the file.
