  • jQuery datepicker calendar - call to function updates database

    So I'm using the datepicker plugin to make an availability calendar. Here is my javascript: http://pastebin.com/H7D9PcAg When dpSetSelected() is called it is also calling dateSelected() which triggers the AJAX call to my PHP script. I need a way to only update the database if the date is clicked on and not pre-loaded. When I pre-load the dates they are sent to the PHP page and subsequently removed.

  • Wordpress Search Results in Order

    One of my clients websites, www.kevinsplants.co.uk is not showing the search results in alphabetical order, how do I go about ordering the results in alphabetical order? We are using the Shopp plugin and I believe its that plugin that is generating the results!     First, I can assume that all urls that end with jpeg, jpg, bmp, png or gif are images, and others aren't. I thought of, and tried two solutions: Matching the regular expression .(jpe?g|bmp|png|gif)$ Using ends-with to check each separately But, it appears that neither of these exist in XPath 1.0, or at least, they don't exist in Firefox (I am writing a greasemonkey script, so it is only important for the path to work in Firefox).

    Hi, How to properly construct regular expression for "grep" linux program, to find all email in, say /etc directory ? Currently, my script is following: grep -srhw "[[:alnum:]]*@[[:alnum:]]*" /etc It working OK - a see some of the emails, but when i modify it, to catch the one-or-more charactes before- and after the "@" sign ... grep -srhw "[[:alnum:]]+@[[:alnum:]]+" /etc .. it stops working at all Also, it does't catches emails of form "[email protected]" Help !

    I'd like to navigate images using both keyboard and mouse (clicking left and right arrow images). I'm using Jquery to do this, but the shared imgIndex seems to be off from the .keydown function and the .click function... Whenever .keydown function -- or ++ the imgIndex, isn't that changed index also used in the click function?     I have a small JavaScript validation script that validates inputs based on Regex. I want to allow certain characters that are not exactly common (not sure if they're UTF8). For example I want to allow the following character ’, which looks like a single quote, but isn't. I got the HTML code for this which is &#8217;, but I'm not sure how to put this into the Regex. I've tried just inputting [&#8217]* but it doesn't validate.

  • Database Schema Versioning Strategies

    I work on a project that uses a reasonably large database, the live version weighing in at somewhere around 60-80GB. The live database is the only real definitive source of our schema, and because of its size duplicating this database is too slow to be done often. This means we have ended up developing our database schema in a pretty ad hoc way, using sql compare to migrate changes from dev dbs to the live system, and only wiping our dev dbs every month or two. I am hoping to get some pointers on how to improve our database development work flow so that we have a little more control. Some things to think about: Currently nobody is really in charge of the database schema, all developers can change it if they need to, though generally these decisions are talked about before they are done. There are stored procedures, functions, and views in the database. These should probably be dumped to files so they can be reloaded on every build. Schema changes should probably be checked in as scripts. We have started to do this recently. However all our scripts must then be numbered (because there may be dependencies between them), and must be re runnable (because our build script currently runs them all in order). This makes them hard to read because they are full of conditionals that check whether tables or columns already exist. This is a step that is often forgotten by developers. Getting a new database should be quick and easy. This is currently a big problem, it takes several hours to get a copy of last nights backup and restore it onto a dev machine. Some mechanism needs to be in place to allow developers to update static data. We have tables that contain data that is never updated through the application, but does potentially need to be changed when we do a new release (often this drives dropdowns). The whole thing needs to be runnable as part of a build script. Are there any tools that can be used to help to do this? Eventually I would like to be at a point where a new DB can be built from scratch without copying any data from the live system. I don't mind writing some scripts to glue all the steps together but each part should be easily editable so that we continue to use it rather than make changes directly on DBs.

  • Downloading a web page and all of its resource files in Python

    I want to be able to download a page and all of its associated resources (images, style sheets, script files, etc) using Python. I am (somewhat) familiar with urllib2 and know how to download individual urls, but before I go and start hacking at BeautifulSoup + urllib2 I wanted to be sure that there wasn't already a Python equivalent to "wget --page-requisites http://www.google.com". Specifically I am interested in gathering statistical information about how long it takes to download an entire web page, including all resources. Thanks Mark
