  • Python - List and Loop in one def

    - by Dunwitch
I'm trying to get the def wfsc_pod1 and wfsc_ip into the same def. I'm not quite sure how to approach the problem. I want wfsc_pod1 to display all the information for name, subnet and gateway. Then wfsc_ip shows the ip addresses below it. I also get a None value when I run it as it. Not sure why. Anything more pythonic is more appreciated. class OutageAddress: subnet = ["255.255.255.0", "255.255.255.1"] # Gateway order is matched with names gateway = ["192.168.1.1", "192.168.1.2", "192.168.1.3", "192.168.1.4", "192.168.1.5", "192.168.1.6", "192.168.1.7", "192.168.1.8", "192.168.1.9"] name = ["LOC1", "LOC2", "LOC3", "LOC4", "LOC5", "LOC6", "LOC7", "LOC8", "LOC9"] def wfsc_pod1(self): wfsc_1 = "%s\t %s\t %s\t" % (network.name[0],network.subnet[0],network.gateway[0]) return wfsc_1 def wfsc_ip(self): for ip in range(100,110): ip = "192.168.1."+str(ip) print ip network = OutageAddress() print network.wfsc_pod1() print network.wfsc_ip()

  • Python subprocess.Popen hangs in 'for l in p.stdout' until p terminates, why?

    - by Albert
I have that code: #!/usr/bin/python -u localport = 9876 import sys, re, os from subprocess import * tun = Popen(["./newtunnel", "22", str(localport)], stdout=PIPE, stderr=STDOUT) print "** Started tunnel, waiting to be ready ..." for l in tun.stdout: sys.stdout.write(l) if re.search("Waiting for connection", l): print "** Ready for SSH !" break The "./newtunnel" will not exit, it will constantly output more and more data to stdout. However, that code will not give any output and just keeps waiting in the tun.stdout. When I kill the newtunnel process externally, it flushes all the data to tun.stdout. So it seems that I can't get any data from the tun.stdout while it is still running. Why is that? How can I get the information? Note that the default bufsize for Popen is 0 (unbuffered). I can also specify bufsize=0 but that doesn't change anything.

  • Is it possible to cast the Elapsed Time function to Integer?

    - by nuvio
I have the following function: (def elapsedtime (with-out-str (time (run-my-function)))) and I was wondering if is possible to store only the integer value of the time, as I can only store a String at the moment.... Any suggestion? Thanks a lot UPDATE So I did use this: (defmacro nsecs [expr] `(let [start# (. System (nanoTime))] ~expr (- (. System (nanoTime)) start#))) And then modified this: (def elapsedtime (nsecs (run-my-function argument1 argument2))) but doesn't work, what am I doing wrong? • How do I dynamically define an instance variable?

    - by Moses
Hi everyone, I have two classes (class1 and class2) that just store data, no methods. I have a third class that has an instance variable that, depending on some user input, will be set to one of the two classes. So, in the third class I declare the variable generically as NSObject *aClass; and during runtime set it to whatever it should be. aClass = [[Class1 alloc] init]; // or aClass = [[Class2 alloc] init]; However, when I try to access fields from aClass NSString *str = aClass.field1; It gives me the error: request for member 'field1' in something not a structure or a union. Field1 is declared in both class1 and class2. When I try to cast aClass aClass = (Class1 *) aClass; it gives the same error. What am I doing wrong, is there a better way to do this?

  • nUnit Assert.That(method,Throws.Exception) not catching exceptions

    - by JasonM
Hi Everyone, Can someone tell me why this unit test that checks for exceptions fails? Obviously my real test is checking other code but I'm using Int32.Parse to show the issue. [Test] public void MyTest() { Assert.That(Int32.Parse("abc"), Throws.Exception.TypeOf<FormatException>()); } The test fails, giving this error. Obviously I'm trying to test for this exception and I think I'm missing something in my syntax. • Constructing a function call in C

    - by 0x6adb015
Given that I have a pointer to a function (provided by dlsym() for example) and a linked list of typed arguments, how can I construct a C function call with those arguments? Example: struct param { enum type { INT32, INT64, STRING, BOOL } type; union { int i32; long long i64; char *str; bool b; } value; struct param *next; }; int call_this(int (*function)(), struct param *args) { int result; /* magic here that calls function(), which has a prototype of f(int, long long, char *, bool); , when args consist of a linked list of INT32, INT64, STRING, BOOL types. */ return result; } The OS is Linux. I would like the solution to be portable across MIPS, PPC and x86 (all 32 bits) architecture, using GCC as the compiler. Thanks!

  • C# Get video file duration from metadata

    - by Rekreativc
I am trying to read metadata from a file. I only need the Video - Length property, however I am unable to find a simple way of reading this information. I figured this would be fairly easy since it is visible by default in Explorer, however this looks to be way more complicated than I anticipated. The closest I came was using: Microsoft.DirectX.AudioVideoPlayback.Video video = new Microsoft.DirectX.AudioVideoPlayback.Video(str); double duration = video.Duration; However this throws a LoaderLock exception, and I don't know how to deal with it. Any ideas?

  • python len calculation

    - by n00bz0r
I'm currently trying to build a RDP client in python and I came across the following issue with a len check; From: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc240836%28v=prot.10%29.aspx "81 2a - ConnectData::connectPDU length = 298 bytes Since the most significant bit of the first byte (0x81) is set to 1 and the following bit is set to 0, the length is given by the low six bits of the first byte and the second byte. Hence, the value is 0x12a, which is 298 bytes." This sounds weird. For normal len checks, I'm simply using : struct.pack("h",len(str(PacketLen))) but in this case, I really don't see how I can calculate the len as described above. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated !

  • Is it possible to add two nodes at a time dynamically to a treeview

    - by Dorababu
I am having a tree-view on my main form with initially some nodes as follows ACH |-> some.txt |->FileHeader |->BatchHeader Now at this point i will have to add 2 child nodes at a time to BatchHeader. This nodes i will pass as strings from child forms My sample code that i added some nodes is as follows public void loadingDatafrom(string filename, bool str) { if (Append.oldbatchcontrol != filename) { if (tvwACH.SelectedNode.Text == "FileHeader") { tvwACH.SelectedNode.Nodes.Add(filename); } if (tvwACH.SelectedNode.Text == "BatchHeader" && filecontrolvariables.m_gridclick == false) { tvwACH.SelectedNode.Nodes.Add(filename); **I got this idea tvwach.SelectedNode.Lastnode.Nodes.Add("Node");** } } } Can any one give an idea to add 2 nodes as child to the existing node ..

  • trouble setting up TreeViews in pygtk

    - by Chris H
    I've got some code in a class that extends gtk.TreeView, and this is the init method. I want to create a tree view that has 3 columns. A toggle button, a label, and a drop down box that the user can type stuff into. The code below works, except that the toggle button doesn't react to mouse clicks and the label and the ComboEntry aren't drawn. (So I guess you can say it doesn't work). I can add rows just fine however. #make storage enable/disable label user entry self.tv_store = gtk.TreeStore(gtk.ToggleButton, str, gtk.ComboBoxEntry) #make widget gtk.TreeView.__init__(self, self.tv_store) #make renderers self.buttonRenderer = gtk.CellRendererToggle() self.labelRenderer = gtk.CellRendererText() self.entryRenderer = gtk.CellRendererCombo() #make columns self.columnButton = gtk.TreeViewColumn('Enabled') self.columnButton.pack_start(self.buttonRenderer, False) self.columnLabel = gtk.TreeViewColumn('Label') self.columnLabel.pack_start(self.labelRenderer, False) self.columnEntry = gtk.TreeViewColumn('Data') self.columnEntry.pack_start(self.entryRenderer, True) self.append_column(self.columnButton) self.append_column(self.columnLabel) self.append_column(self.columnEntry) self.tmpButton = gtk.ToggleButton('example') self.tmpCombo = gtk.ComboBoxEntry(None) self.tv_store.insert(None, 0, [self.tmpButton, 'example label', self.tmpCombo]) thanks.

  • [ASP.NET] How can I HTML-encode a string and use human-readable encoded tags (ex: &ecirc; instead of

    - by Beerdude26
Greetings, I'm looking for a way to encode a string into HTML that uses human-readable tags such as &ecirc; (=ê). At the moment, I am using the HttpUtility.HtmlEncode() function, but it appears to return numbered tags instead of human-readable ones. For example: Dim str as string = HttpUtility;HtmlEncode("vente - en-tête") 'Expected: vente - en-t&ecirc;te 'Actually received: vente - en-t&#234;te Is there a setting or function in ASP.Net to encode a string into HTML resembling the first comment? EDIT: I am looking for this kind of functionality because the text is saved HTML-encoded in the database. The text comes from a bunch of MS Word documents that have been converted to HTML.

  • rearranging a list of months

    - by MacUsers
How can I list the numbers 01 to 12 (one for each of the 12 months) in such a way so that the current month always comes last where the oldest one is first. In other words, if the number is grater than the current month, it's from the previous year. e.g. 02 is Feb, 2011 (the current month right now), 03 is March, 2010 and 09 is Sep, 2010 but 01 is Jan, 2011. In this case, I'd like to have [09, 03, 01, 02]. This is what I'm doing to determine the year: for inFile in os.listdir('.'): if inFile.isdigit(): month = months[int(inFile)] if int(inFile) <= int(strftime("%m")): year = strftime("%Y") else: year = int(strftime("%Y"))-1 mnYear = month + ", " + str(year) I don't have a clue what to do next. What should I do here?

  • How to make pytest display a custom string representation for fixture parameters?

    - by Björn Pollex
When using builtin types as fixture parameters, pytest prints out the value of the parameters in the test report. For example: @fixture(params=['hello', 'world'] def data(request): return request.param def test_something(data): pass Running this with py.test --verbose will print something like: test_example.py:7: test_something[hello] PASSED test_example.py:7: test_something[world] PASSED Note that the value of the parameter is printed in square brackets after the test name. Now, when using an object of a user-defined class as parameter, like so: class Param(object): def __init__(self, text): self.text = text @fixture(params=[Param('hello'), Param('world')] def data(request): return request.param def test_something(data): pass pytest will simply enumerate the number of values (p0, p1, etc.): test_example.py:7: test_something[p0] PASSED test_example.py:7: test_something[p1] PASSED This behavior does not change even when the user-defined class provides custom __str__ and __repr__ implementations. Is there any way to make pytest display something more useful than just p0 here? I am using pytest 2.5.2 on Python 2.7.6 on Windows 7.
