• How can I programmatically unlock a Adobe DRM Epub?

  I am writing an ebook reader that supports the epub format (i have the parsing of open epub working), but I would like to support the reading of Adobe DRM locked epubs. I have read threw the adobe digital editions site (faq and support pages) and googled, but alas as yet I have not found any docs on the api to: authorise the pc using the users adobe id creds and decrypt the epub for parsing by my app. Does anyone have any pointers to docs or apis? I would prefer apis in Python, C++. But any api is better than nothing ;-) UPDATE1: i am writing my app on Desktops (linux, mac and windows)

• Selenium Grid with parallel testing using C#/NUnit

  I've got several unit tests written with NUnit that are calling selenium commands. I've got 2 win2k3 server boxes setup, one is running selenium grid hub along with 2 selenium rc's. The other box is running 5 selenium rc's. All of them are registered with the hub as running Firefox on Windows (to keep it simple). In my unit test setup method I've got it connected to the hub's hostname at port 4444. When running the tests, they only run sequentially (as expected). I've done a lot of reading on NUnit's roadmap and how they are shooting for parallel testing abilities. I've seen lots of pointers to using PNUnit in the meantime. However this seems to completely defeat the purpose of the Selenium Grid. Have any of you successfully implemented parallel testing using C#/NUnit connected to a Selenium Grid setup? If so, please elaborate. I'm at a complete loss at how this will/can work using NUnit as it exists now (I'm using version 2.9.3)

  I'm trying to get a basic flip animation transition working when I push a controller inside a navigation. The code below flips the view, however the view appears first (each element fades in), and then the flip occurs. Is it possible to do a flip animation with a UINavigationController? We used to have the following stuff : class Blah { float[][] data; public float[] GetDataReference(int index) { return data[index]; } } For various reasons, I have replaced this jagged array version with a 1 dimensionnal array version, concatenating inner arrays.   I am trying to put together an installer using WiX 3.0 and I'm unsure about one thing. I would like to use the FeaturesDlg dialog to allow the users to select features to install, but I need to be able to conditionally exclude some features from the list based on some input previously received, preferably from a managed Custom Action. I see that if I set the "Display" attribute of a Feature to "hidden" in the .wxs file that it does what I want, but I can't figure out a way to change that attribute at runtime. Any pointers would be great.

• jsonSerializer.DeserializeObject and arrays

  I have a column in the a database with values like the below. [{"noteText":"Today was sunny.","noteDate":"2010-03-30 10:06:22"},{"noteDate":"2010-04-06 13:21:36","noteText":"Today was windy."}] I think they are from an array of objects serialized via flash to Json. What I need to do is pull out the noteText and noteDate values only and record them back to the database as a normal string. I was hoping to just deserialize back to objects and build up a string from there, however, due to my unfamiliarity with c# and .Net I've hit a brick wall trying to deserialize the string. var obj = jsonSerializer.DeserializeObject(ns); Am I going in the right direction or should I be looking at doing some string manipulation? Any pointers much appreciated.

  Specifically, I want to use Point-to-point Message Queue but because I am still using legacy codes in eVC++ 4 and it only support until PocketPC 2003SE SDK, I cannot find CreateMsgQueue and friends in the headers (the port to newer VisualStudio is still in progess) I am using the Message Queue to do IPC with apps developed with WM-6.5-DTK (VS2005). • [Android] How to search and Highlight Text within an EditText

  I've searched high and low for something that seems to be a simple task. Forgive me, I am coming to Android from other programming languages and am new to this platform and Java. What I want to do is create a dialog pop-up where a user enters text to search for and the code would take that text and search for it within all the text in an EditText control and if it's found, highlight it. I've done this before, for example in VB and it went something similar to this pseudo code: grab the text from the (EditText) assign it to a string search the length of that string (character by character) for the substring, if it's found return the position (index) of the substring within the string. if found, start the (EditText).setSelection highlight beginning on the returned position for the length of Does this make sense? I just want to search a EditText for and when found, scroll to it and it'll be highlighted. Maybe there's something in Android/Java equivalent to what I need here? Any help / pointers would be greatly appreciated

• Fiddler not sniffing SOAP traffic from ASP.NET website

  So far I've been successfully using fiddler to sniff web service traffic from both test fixtures, console apps and web projects. Today I noticed I am not able anymore to sniff that kind of traffic if I am running my web application (it's a ASP.NET website, hosted locally on IIS). I see all the local traffic but the web service traffic is just gone (the service is being hit as I do see the response debugging into the code). I am still able to successfully sniff soap requests and responses from test fixtures or console apps in the same solution (exact same environment). If it was a windows (I am on Win7) security update or the likes it would never work I guess (unless it affects only traffic routed through IIS). What should I be looking for that could cause the emergence this behavior? Any pointers appreciated!

• Ehcache - Distributed RMI not working

  Hi, I have this strange problem with ehcache 2.0 that I hope someone can help me with. I have set up a cluster of two hosts, A and B. I can see that heartbeats are received at both ends, so I'm pretty sure the networking and multicast stuff is working. The problem is that is I put an element into the cache at host A, I can see in the logs of host B that it receives a remote put. But when I request the same element from host B, it runs off to the data base and performs a query nonetheless. What may be the cause of this? Thankful for any pointers!

  hey guys i'm about to begin a football manager inspired facebook application in php/mysql and had a couple of questions: 1) where would be the best place to host the database? any services offered within great britain would be excellent! 2) does anyone have any ideas on how i could use player statistics as part of the in-game match engine? how would php accomodate this? i would like to make the matches as realistic as possible? 3) lastly i wanted to know whether php/mysql would be the best language to code this game in. i am quite confident within this language and can pick up new skills relatively quickly. but i am worried once again (in reference to number 2) about how i would simulate matches using the data from php. i'd appreciate any pointers. thanks for the help guys!

  As you may know Silverlight has support for local storage. We are looking at creating Sl application that will work in off line mode. This application may require quite a bit of data to be cached on the client side. Obvious solution - use local storage with some sort of XMl based structure won't work as our PoC showed due to performance issues. We are looking at several 3rd party solutions that implement light database engines on top of SL local storage. If you have solved this problem in the past or have any ideas - I would appreciate some pointers and ideas.

• Is Objective C fast enough for DSP/audio programming

  I've been making some progress with audio programming for iPhone. Now I'm doing some performance tuning, trying to see if I can squeeze more out of this little machine. Running Shark, I see that a significant part of my cpu power (16%) is getting eaten up by objc_msgSend. I understand I can speed this up somewhat by storing pointers to functions (IMP) rather than calling them using [object message] notation. But if I'm going to go through all this trouble, I wonder if I might just be better off using C++. Any thoughts on this?

  Does any one know how I would have to change the following to work with ms sql? WHERE registrationDate between to_date ('2003/01/01', 'yyyy/mm/dd') AND to_date ('2003/12/31', 'yyyy/mm/dd'); What I have read implies I would have to construct it using DATEPART() which could become very long winded. Especially when the goal would be to compare on dates which I receive in the following format "2003-12-30 10:07:42". It would be nice to pass them off to the database as is. Any pointers appreciated.

  Hello, I am trying to use JTidy (jtidy-r938.jar) to sanitize an input HTML string, but I seem to have problems getting the default settings right. Often strings such as "hello world" end up as "helloworld" after tidying. I wanted to show what I'm doing here, and any pointers would be really appreciated: Assume that rawHtml is the String containing the input (real world) HTML. • SSRS 2005: How do I make available varbinary data for download in a report?

  Hi, SSRS newbie question here... I have a table where one column is varbinary(max) data. I would like to make a report that makes this data available for download as a hyperlink so the user can just click on the item and get a file download dialog for the binary data. In this particular case, the binary data happens to be the content of old pdf files, but that shouldn't matter. I tried searching around but I can't find any pointers on how to do this. It seems to me that it should be possible. There are ways to display images in a report using varbinary data, so it makes sense that one should be able to make arbitrary binary data downloadable on a report, right?

• jQuery partial page refresh after form submit

  When using jQuery to submit a form is it possible to place the resulting page (after the submit) inside another HTML element? I'll try to make this clearer. Up to now I've been using Callback methods that among others do a document.forms['form'].submit(); whenever a form has been updated with new information and needs to be refreshed. However, this results in a full page refresh. I'm implementing Partial Page Refresh using jQuery and thought of using something like var newContent = jQuery('#form').submit(); jQuery('#div').load(newContent); However, that does not seem to work as the page is still fully refreshed. The content is correct, however the behaviour seems to be exactly the same as before - so I'm not really sure if what I want is actually possible with jQuery. Any hints and pointers would be helpful. This DIV has two input fields, however I can't click on any of them. I manually added the z-index to 990 for this DIV but the input fields are still not clickable. Any pointers ?

  Ok, so I did find some questions that were almost similar but they actually confused me even more about pointers. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2715198/c-pointer-objects-vs-non-pointer-objects-closed In the link above, they say that if you declare a pointer it is actually saved on the heap and not on the stack, regardless of where it was declared at. Is this true ?? Or am I misunderstanding ??? I thought that regardless of a pointer or non pointer, if its a global variable, it lives as long as the application. If its a local variable or declared within a loop or function, its life is only as long as the code within it.

  Hi all, This is my first attemp to code a blackberry app so please bear with me. I am developing an app to make it easy to access certain information from certain websites using screenscrapping. Now I am done with the ui part of the application onto the internet access part. My question is how do i access internet from my app ? I see that blackberry offers http, wifi and some other forms to access the internet ... does my app need to be worried about what mode is being used ? or as far as my app is concerned theres a general api to access the net with the logic of connecting to the internet being handled by the device itself ..? any pointers with some sample code would be much appreciated. thank you, ankit
