    So, I have this. It compares two card decks and if they are the same the result is true. public boolean equals ( Object obj ) { boolean result = true; for (int i = 0; i < 52; i++) { if (this.cardAt(i) = this2.cardlist(i)) { result = true; } else { result = false; } } } I would like to be able to compare two random card decks, if you will. But I don't know how to compare two different ones using "this . I simply wrote "this2" to replace another instance of "this". What could I do to replace this "this2" to still be able to compare two card decks?

  • fd partitions gone from 2 discs, md happy with it and resyncs. How to recover ?

    Hey gurus, need some help badly with this one. I run a server with a 6Tb md raid5 volume built over 7*1Tb disks.   • 2-Bay External HDD Enclosure in JBOD mode fails to detect both drives (Linux & Windows)

    I recently purchased a couple of USB 3.0 External HDD Enclosures to use for storage and backup; the idea was to have one act as backup to the other, with 4 x 3TB drives in total. However, the second drive in each is not accessible in either Linux nor Windows, and I could not determine the reason. 1. Situation The two enclosures are slightly different (couldn't find them in stock at the same time) yet from many little details appear to be the same Chinese base design with a tweaked outer shell. The models are: Sharkoon 2-Bay RAID Box Fantec MR-35DU3 The drives are Seagate 3TB Barracuda ST33000651AS, firmware CC44, all identical. From reading manuals and online sources, I determined that JBOD would be the optimal setup for my needs -- addressing the two drives separately in each enclosure would be important, making it easy to swap drives and mix&match them if needed; all the other modes implied the controller doing a combination of the drives. The software used was Debian GNU/Linux - testing/wheezy - kernel 2.6.39-2 and Windows 7 Ultimate. 2. Description of the problem Now, here comes the problem: every time I connect either of the enclosures to a PC using the supplied cable (tried a different one as well), only the HDD in the top bay is readable, the one below is detected yet errors out in various ways. According to the manuals, it should not happen: in JBOD, the system should be able to "see" two separate drives upon connection. This happens with both enclosures and any combination of HDDs (i.e. if I swap them, the same thing happens), so the HDDs are good and I think so are the enclosures (two different companies making similar products that failed in an identical fashion would be very unlikely). The top HDD can be used fine every time, I actually tried a speed test from Linux and got about 150MiB/s reads, so all is working as it should; the one below refuses to work every time. So the failure is consistent. To make sure this was not some obscure Linux bug, I tried the same under Windows 7, and the system also only created one drive letter for a drive of 3TB size (so it was only seeing one instead of both). Placing an older, known good, 2TB drive in the top bay made that the one recognised, so we have the same issue under Windows as well. Log entries under Linux (tested here with a 3TB and a 2TB drive so I could differentiate them; either one works in the top enclosure, in the test setup the 3TB one is on top).   • Any good card game AI strategies?

    What would be strategies for writing a good computer opponent for a card game? Most card games are games of incomplete information, so simply mapping out and traversing the game tree as one could do with a board game does not seem too promising. Maybe one could track what open cards are in the game (as soon as they are revealed) and assign probabilities to certain events (e.g. opponent still has 2 cards of clubs).   • Need to Connect 2 HDMI between Onboard and Add-In GPUs - What's the consequences?

    If i plug a second hdmi cable into my onboard video output (my dedicated add-in only has one hdmi port) will it use my video card or the onboard for that display? Also, what is the difference in quality between HDMI and DVI? I do have a DVI to HDMI adapter and cable that I could use alternatively if the above is not in my best interest. This is a gaming related question as I will be gaming off the two displays, hopefully in the highest of quality.

But the problem is that when my emulator runs , a sd card folder should be created in "File Explorer" tab of DDMS perspective in eclipse , which is not happening . That's why I am unable to push any file in the sd card and hence video is not being played.   • Default soundcard per application in Vista?

    I use a USB headset during the day, then at night I use my speakers to watch video. I constantly have to use the windows playback list to change the default soundcard before I run the program I want. I did some google research but it doesn't seem to help much, mostly because of false positives. I tried to use "Sound Card Manager" but it didn't seem to work properly. Has anyone had any sucess dealing with the Vista sound system?

    I've an Acer laptop with Windows 7 64 bit and an ATI Radeon HD 6550M Graphics card. Whenever I connect the power to charge the battery it automatically switches to the high-power GPU (ATI) instead of the low-power (Intel) GPU. There's an option in the bios to stop such thing but it makes the GPU runs always on high-power and I can't switch to the low-power GPU. How can I prevent the switchable graphics from automatically using the high-power GPU when charging?

    Guys, I am trying to write a class in C# that can be used as a direct replacement for the C# Bitmap class. What I want to do instead though is perform all graphic functions done on the bitmap using the power of the video card. From what I understand, functions such as DrawLine or DrawArc or DrawText are primitive functions that use simple cpu math algorithms to perform the job. I, instead, want to use the graphics card cpu and memory to do these and other advanced functions, such as skinning a bitmap (applying a texture) and true transparancy. My problem is, in C#, how do I access direct video functions? Is there a library or something I need?

    I will be replacing my desktop computer with a laptop and I would like to connect it to my existing 5.1 sound system. Now, the Sound System have three different input channels, but most laptops only have one sound output channel. what do I need in order to connect my future laptop to my sound system?   • Problems with IRQs when connecting two digium card in and asterisk box

    I have two Digium Wildcard TDM800P with 8 FXO ports each. When I connect both at the same time IRQ misses start showing up making my computer unresponsive and unusable. One card works fine but I need all 16 FXO ports to work to receive calls from my Telco. Is there a way for the cards to communicate with each other so they don't generate as many interrupts. Or a way to tweak Linux to dedicate separate IRQ's for each card. I have tried disabling Audio, ACPI and USB ports. Still too many IRQ misses.

    My android app requires that the device has an SDcard and that SDcard is mountable on a PC or MAC as a FileSystem (removable disk) . It is because there is a program for windows which my mobile app writes to sd card which user has to run from his PC and that program works on files on that Mounted SD card and disks on PC from windows. This was a problem on most the Tablets because not all of them can mount their SDcard as removable disk on PC without requiring special drivers on PC for that tablet. But for majority of ICS phones the PC seems to mount the disk as removable storage so I would like to limit my app for the API 8 - API15 (Phones only) Is there a way to specify in the manifest of an android app that the app should work with an ICS android phone and not the ICS tablets so that users having tablets can not download it from android market ?     I need to convert a credit card expire field from MMYY to a date field I can use in a MS SQL query so I can compute when credit cards are expiring in the future. Basically, I need to go from MMYY to MM/DD/YYYY, where the day part could just be '01' (the first of the month). I'm looking for credit cards that are expiring next month from a database. The problem I'm running into is when next month is the first month of the next year.     Environment : Win-Vista 64 BIT Graphics Processor / Vendor NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS Video Memory 256 MB Total Available Graphics Memory 1535 MB What happens is, i can use the laptop in "basic theme" ONLY, the moment i enable any aero theme, the screen tears up, discoloration appears & then laptop freezes. Sometimes its reboot itself with Blue Screen shows up the gfx card error. Any way around, highly appreciated.

    Hello, I've just bought a Samsung XL2370 with a native resolution of 1920x1080. Should a Radeon X1300 be capable of shifting around windows on a screen that size? Because maximising and minimising windows, scrolling in Firefox and VS2008 seems very slow and jerky. Does the Radeon X1300 have any hardware accelearation? My old display was only 1028x768 and I never noticed any problems. Maybe is it time to buy a new graphics card? Thanks, AJ
