  • Problem with boost::find_format_all, boost::regex_finder and custom regex formatter (bug boost 1.42)

    - by Nikko
I have a code that has been working for almost 4 years (since boost 1.33) and today I went from boost 1.36 to boost 1.42 and now I have a problem. I'm calling a custom formatter on a string to format parts of the string that match a REGEX. For instance, a string like: "abc;def:" will be changed to "abc\2Cdef\3B" if the REGEX contains "([;:])" boost::find_format_all( mystring, boost::regex_finder( REGEX ), custom_formatter() ); The custom formatter looks like this: struct custom_formatter() { template< typename T > std::string operator()( const T & s ) const { std::string matchStr = s.match_results().str(1); // perform substitutions return matchStr; } } This worked fine but with boost 1.42 I know have "non initialized" s.match_results() which yield to boost::exception_detail::clone_implINS0_::error_info_injectorISt11logic_errorEEEE - Attempt to access an uninitialzed boost::match_results< class. This means that sometimes I am in the functor to format a string but there is no match. Am I doing something wrong? Or is it normal to enter the functor when there is no match and I should check against something? for now my solution is to try{}catch(){} the exception and everything works fine, but somehow that doesn't feel very good. EDIT1 Actually I have a new empty match at the end of each string to parse. EDIT2 : one solution inspired by ablaeul template< typename T > std::string operator()( const T & s ) const { if( s.begin() == s.end() ) return std::string(); std::string matchStr = s.match_results().str(1); // perform substitutions return matchStr; } *EDIT3 Seems to be a bug in (at least) boost 1.42 *

  • Reading custom values in Ebay RSS feed (XML::RSS module)

    - by munster
I've spent entirely way too long trying to figure this out. I'm using XML:RSS and Perl to read / parse an Ebay RSS feed. Within the area, I see these entries: 1395 1255 However, I can't figure out how to grab the details during the loop. I wrote a regex to grab them: @current_price = $item =~ m/\(\d+)\<\/rx\:CurrentPrice/g; which works if you place the above 'CurrentPrice' entry into a standalone string, but not while the script is reading through the RSS feed. I can grab most of the information I want out of the item-description area (# bids, auction end time, BIN price, thumbnail image, etc), but it would be nicer if I could grab the info from the feed without me having to deal with grabbing all that information manually. If anybody knows how to grab custom fields from an RSS feed (short of writing regexes to parse the entire feed w/o a module), any help / insight would be appreciated.

  • Marshal.StringToCoTaskMemAnsi converting non-Latin characters when sending raw data to a printer

    - by rem
For sending raw data to a thermal DATAMAX printer I'm using RawPrinterHelper class from this Microsoft KB article. When a string sent to printer contains only Latin characters, everything is OK. But non-Latin, in my case Russian characters in a string, are not printed correct. I think the problem is in using Marshal.StringToCoTaskMemAnsi method for converting the string: public static bool SendStringToPrinter(string szPrinterName, string szString) { IntPtr pBytes; Int32 dwCount; // How many characters are in the string? dwCount = szString.Length; // Assume that the printer is expecting ANSI text, and then convert // the string to ANSI text. pBytes = Marshal.StringToCoTaskMemAnsi(szString); // Send the converted ANSI string to the printer. SendBytesToPrinter(szPrinterName, pBytes, dwCount); Marshal.FreeCoTaskMem(pBytes); return true; } Just to note, Russian characters in the string are put in hex format, like "\x83", but nevertheless the method doesn't put this hex value in unmanaged memory as it is, but converts it, I think, according with ANSI code page to a character and then printer can not read it correctly. If I try to compose a file, using Hex editor and put correct hex values in place of non-Latin characters and then send the file to a printer using another method from the same class SendFileToPrinter, everything, including Russian characters is printed correctly. How in this case the problem with sending string, containing non-Latin characters, could be solved?

  • In python, what is the fastest way to determine if a string is an email or an integer?

    - by ensnare
I'd like to be able to pull users from a database using either a supplied e-mail address or the user id (an integer). To do this, I have to detect if the supplied string is an integer, or an e-mail. Looking for the fastest way to do this. Thanks. def __init__(self, data): #populate class data self._fetchInfo(data) def _fetchInfo(self, data): #If an email #SELECT ... WHERE email = 'data' #or if a user_id #SELECT ... WHERE id = 'data' #Fill class attributes self._id = row['id'] self._email = row['id'] ...

  • JavaCC: Please help me understand token ambiguity.

    - by java.is.for.desktop
Hello, everyone! I had already many problems with understanding, how ambiguous tokens can be handled elegantly (or somehow at all) in JavaCC. Let's take this example: I want to parse XML processing instruction. The format is: "<?" <target> <data> "?>": target is an XML name, data can be anything except ?>, because it's the closing tag. So, lets define this in JavaCC: (I use lexical states, in this case DEFAULT and PROC_INST) TOKEN : <#NAME : (very-long-definition-from-xml-1.1-goes-here) > TOKEN : <WSS : (" " | "\t")+ > // WSS = whitespaces <DEFAULT> TOKEN : {<PI_START : "<?" > : PROC_INST} <PROC_INST> TOKEN : {<PI_TARGET : <NAME> >} <PROC_INST> TOKEN : {<PI_DATA : ~[] >} // accept everything <PROC_INST> TOKEN : {<PI_END : "?>" > : DEFAULT} Now the part which recognizes processing instructions: void PROC_INSTR() : {} { ( <PI_START> (t=<PI_TARGET>){System.out.println("target: " + t.image);} <WSS> (t=<PI_DATA>){System.out.println("data: " + t.image);} <PI_END> ) {} } The problem is (i guess): hence <PI_DATA> recognizes "everything", my definition is wrong. Let's test it with <?mytarget here-goes-some-data?>: The target is recognized: "target: mytarget". But now I get my favorite JavaCC parsing error: !! procinstparser.ParseException: Encountered "" at line 1, column 15. !! Was expecting one of: !! Encountered nothing? Was expecting nothing? Or what? Thank you, JavaCC! I know, that I could use the MORE keyword of JavaCC, but this would give me the whole processing instruction as one token, so I'd had to parse/tokenize it further by myself. Why should I do that? Am I writing a parser that does not parse? What I would need is telling JavaCC to recognize "everything until ?>" as processing instruction data. How can it be done? Thank you.

  • Using Regex, how can I remove certain characters from the inside of tags in a string of html?

    - by Iain Fraser
Suppose I have a string of html that contains a bunch of control characters and I want to remove the control characters from inside tags only, leaving the characters outside the tags alone. For example Here the control character is the numeral "1". Input The quick 1<strong>orange</strong> lemming <sp11a1n 1class1='jumpe111r'11>jumps over</span> 1the idle 1frog Desired Output The quick 1<strong>orange</strong> lemming <span class='jumper'>jumps over</span> 1the idle 1frog So far I can match tags which contain the control character but I can't remove them in one regex. I guess I could perform another regex on my matches, but I'd really like to know if there's a better way. My regex Bear in mind this one only matches tags which contain the control character. <(([^>])*?`([^>])*?)*?> Thanks very much for your time and consideration. Iain Fraser

  • django 'urlize' strings form tect just like twitter

    - by dana
heyy there i want to parse a text, let's name it 'post', and 'urlize' some strings if they contain a particular character, in a particular position. my 'pseudocode' trial would look like that: def urlize(post) for string in post if string icontains ('#') url=(r'^searchn/$', searchn, name='news_searchn'), then apply url to the string return urlize(post) i want the function to return to me the post with the urlized strings, where necessary (just like twitter does). i don't understand: how can i parse a text, and search for certain strings? is there ok to make a function especially for 'urlizing' some strings? The function should return the entire post, no matter if it has such kind of strings. is there another way Django offers? Thank you

  • Can I use ANTLR for both two-way parsing/generating?

    - by Mike Q
Hi all, I need to both parse incoming messages and generate outgoing messages in EDIFACT format (basically a structured delimited format). I would like to have a Java model that will be generated by parsing a message. Then I would like to use the same model to create an instance and generate a message. The first half is fine, I've used ANTLR before to go from raw - Java objects. But I've never done the reverse, or if I have it's been custom. Does ANTLR support generating using a grammar or is it really just a parse-only tool?

  • Characters in string changed after downloading HTML from the internet.

    - by Callum Rogers
Using the following code, I can download the HTML of a file from the internet: WebClient wc = new WebClient(); // .... string downloadedFile = wc.DownloadString("http://www.myurl.com/"); However, sometimes the file contains "interesting" characters like é to é, ? to ↠and ????? to フシギダãƒ. I think it may be something to do with different unicode types or something, as each character gets changed into 2 new ones, perhaps each character being split in half but I have very little knowledge in this area. What do you think is wrong?

  • How can I set the minDate/maxDate for jQueryUI Datepicker using a string?

    - by leo
jQueryUI Datepicker documentation states that the minDate option can be set using "a string in the current dateFormat". So I've tried the following to initialize datepickers: $("input.date").datepicker({ minDate: "01/01/2010", maxDate: "12/31/2010" }); However, this results in my datepicker having a selectable date range that goes from 11/06/2015 to 12/17/2015. I've checked the current dateformat and its mm/dd/yy, which is supposed to mean 2 digits for the month, 2 for the day, and 4 for the year, separated by slashes. I've also tried including dateFormat: "mm/dd/yy" in the inizialization statement. I've also checked the values for minDate and maxDate afterwards and they ARE being set to the values I want: 01/01/2010 and 12/31/2010. I want to be able to set min/maxDate with strings because I'm being passed these values as strings from somewhere else. Maybe someone knows why this happens and how to solve this, or a workaround to achieve this, perphaps changing the format of the date strings or something? Thanks EDIT: Using: jQuery v1.3.2 and jQuery UI v1.7.2

  • regular expression search in python

    - by Richard
Hello all, I am trying to parse some data and just started reading up on regular Expressions so I am pretty new to it. This is the code I have so far String = "MEASUREMENT 3835 303 Oxygen: 235.78 Saturation: 90.51 Temperature: 24.41 DPhase: 33.07 BPhase: 29.56 RPhase: 0.00 BAmp: 368.57 BPot: 18.00 RAmp: 0.00 RawTem.: 68.21" String = String.strip('\t\x11\x13') String = String.split("Oxygen:") print String[1] String[1].lstrip print String[1] What I am trying to do is to do is remove the oxygen data (235.78) and put it in its own variable using an regular expression search. I realize that there should be an easy solution but I am trying to figure out how regular expressions work and they are making my head hurt. Thanks for any help Richard

  • PHP Fatal error, trying to request method inside model multiple times

    The error message [23-Mar-2010 08:36:16] PHP Fatal error: Cannot redeclare humanize() (previously declared in /Users/tmclssns/Sites/nadar/nadar/trunk/webapp/application/filer/models/Filer/Aggregate.php:133) in /Users/tmclssns/Sites/nadar/nadar/trunk/webapp/application/filer/models/Filer/Aggregate.php on line 133 I have a "Filer" model which contains several methods to generate graphs. Each method in there related to generating graphs has the suffix "Graph" in the method name. As we have some performance issues, I try to render the graphs in advance (using cron) instead of rendering them on each request. The code below is what I came up with: public function generategraphsAction() { $this->_helper->viewRenderer->setNoRender(); $config = Zend_Registry::get('config'); $id = $this->_getParam('filerid'); $filer = new Filer($id); $filer_methods = get_class_methods($filer); foreach ($filer_methods as $filer_method) { if (preg_match('/^(.*)Graph$/i', $filer_method, $matches)) { $path = $config->imaging_caching_dir . "/$id/{$matches[1]}.png"; $filer->$matches[0]($path); } } // var_dump(get_class_methods($filer)); die; } The result from the var_dump(), when uncommented, is: array 0 => string '__construct' (length=11) 1 => string 'find_by_name' (length=12) 2 => string 'getPartner' (length=10) 3 => string 'getSlots' (length=8) 4 => string 'getGroups' (length=9) 5 => string 'grouplist' (length=9) 6 => string 'getAggregates' (length=13) 7 => string 'getVolumes' (length=10) 8 => string 'getAggregateVolumes' (length=19) 9 => string 'getShelves' (length=10) 10 => string 'getAutoSupportHistory' (length=21) 11 => string 'getAutoSupportMail' (length=18) 12 => string 'getOrphans' (length=10) 13 => string 'getAll' (length=6) 14 => string 'getDiskRevOverview' (length=18) 15 => string 'getDiskTypeOverview' (length=19) 16 => string 'getDiskTypeSizeFunctionOverview' (length=31) 17 => string 'getLicenses' (length=11) 18 => string 'removeGroup' (length=11) 19 => string 'addGroup' (length=8) 20 => string 'hasGroup' (length=8) 21 => string 'aggdefaultGraph' (length=15) 22 => string 'aggbarGraph' (length=11) 23 => string 'voldefaultGraph' (length=15) 24 => string 'volbarGraph' (length=11) 25 => string 'replicationGraph' (length=16) 26 => string 'getReplicationData' (length=18) 27 => string 'humanize' (length=8) 28 => string 'getFiler' (length=8) 29 => string 'getOptions' (length=10) 30 => string 'getCifsInfo' (length=11) 31 => string 'getCifsStats' (length=12) 32 => string '__get' (length=5) 33 => string 'tr' (length=2) 34 => string 'trs' (length=3) 35 => string 'fieldList' (length=9) The generategraphsAction() method finds the 'Graph' methods correctly: array 0 => string 'aggdefaultGraph' (length=15) 1 => string 'aggdefault' (length=10) array 0 => string 'aggbarGraph' (length=11) 1 => string 'aggbar' (length=6) array 0 => string 'voldefaultGraph' (length=15) 1 => string 'voldefault' (length=10) array 0 => string 'volbarGraph' (length=11) 1 => string 'volbar' (length=6) array 0 => string 'replicationGraph' (length=16) 1 => string 'replication' (length=11) However when the first graph is generated, it generates the above listed PHP fatal error. Anyone can come up with a solution to this? I tried to pass by reference or switch a few things around (like re declare the Filer model, $current_filer = new Filer($id); and unset() it again after the request, but resulted in the same error) without much success. The referenced method "humanize" isn't used for anything I'm doing at the moment, but belongs to the Model because it's used in several other places. Of course, removing the method is not really an option right now, and the model contains several other methods as well so I assume if I just move the humanize method around, it will generate an error on the next one. For reference, the humanize() method: public function humanize ($kbytes, $unit = null) { // KiloByte, Megabyte, GigaByte, TeraByte, PetaByte, ExaByte, ZettaByte, YottaByte $units = array('KB', 'MB', 'GB', 'TB', 'PB', 'EB', 'ZB', 'YB'); if (null !== $units) { $i = array_search(substr($unit, -2), $units); if (! $i) { $i = floor((strlen($kbytes) - 1) / 3); } } else { $i = floor((strlen($kbytes) - 1) / 3); } $newSize = round($kbytes / pow(1024, $i), 2); return $newSize . $units[$i]; } Thanks in advance for the help offered.

  • How to get all words of a string in c#?

    - by Joseph Lafuente
I have a paragraph in a single string and I'd like to get all the words in that paragraph. My problem is that I don't want the suffixes words that end with punctuation marks such as (',','.',''','"',';',':','!','?') and /n /t etc. I also don't want words with 's and 'm such as world's where it should only return world. In the example he said. "My dog's bone, toy, are missing!" the list should be: he said my dog bone toy are missing

  • django 'urlize' strings form text just like twitter

    - by dana
heyy there i want to parse a text, let's name it 'post', and 'urlize' some strings if they contain a particular character, in a particular position. my 'pseudocode' trial would look like that: def urlize(post) for string in post if string icontains ('#') url=(r'^searchn/$', searchn, name='news_searchn'), then apply url to the string return urlize(post) i want the function to return to me the post with the urlized strings, where necessary (just like twitter does). i don't understand: how can i parse a text, and search for certain strings? is there ok to make a function especially for 'urlizing' some strings? The function should return the entire post, no matter if it has such kind of strings. is there another way Django offers? Thank you

  • c# create an arbitrary length generic parameter string e.g. ?,?,?

    - by Sky Sanders
I know I am forgetting to remember how to do this and it is late. I want to, in an elegant manner, build a placeholder list for a munged sql command. Have a command with an arbitrary number of parameters, need to build ?,?,? Did I mention that it was a wet brain fart? this is what came out: Regex.Replace(new string('?', _command.Parameters.Count), @"\?\?", @"\?,\?"); You are welcome to make me feel like more of an idiot if you just remember me what I am forgetting. ;-)

  • ANTLR - Embedding Java code, evaluate before or after?

    - by wvd
Hello all, I'm writing a simple scripting language on top of Java/JVM, where you can also embed Java code using the {} brackets. The problem is, how do I parse this in the grammar? I have two options: 1] Allow everything to be in it, such as: [a-z|a-Z|0-9|_|$], and go on 2] Get an extra java grammar and use that grammar to parse that small code (is it actually possible and efficient?) Since option 2] is basically a double-check since when evaluating java code it's also being checked. Now my last question is -- is way that can dynamically execute java code also with objects which have been created at runtime? Thanks, William van Doorn

  • Indenting Paragraph With cout

    - by Eric
Given a string of unknown length, how can you output it using cout so that the entire string displays as an indented block of text on the console? (so that even if the string wraps to a new line, the second line would have the same level of indentation) Example: cout << "This is a short string that isn't indented." << endl; cout << /* Indenting Magic */ << "This is a very long string that will wrap to the next line because it is a very long string that will wrap to the next line..." << endl; And the desired output: This is a short string that isn't indented. This is a very long string that will wrap to the next line because it is a very long string that will wrap to the next line... Edit: The homework assignment I'm working on is complete. The assignment has nothing to do with getting the output to format as in the above example, so I probably shouldn't have included the homework tag. This is just for my own enlightment. I know I could count through the characters in the string, see when I get to the end of a line, then spit out a newline and output -x- number of spaces each time. I'm interested to know if there is a simpler, idiomatic C++ way to accomplish the above.

  • Stuck at being unable to print a substring no more than 4679 characters

    - by Newcoder
I have a program that does string manipulation on very large strings (around 100K). The first step in my program is to cleanup the input string so that it only contains certain characters. Here is my method for this cleanup: public static String analyzeString (String input) { String output = null; output = input.replaceAll("[-+.^:,]",""); output = output.replaceAll("(\\r|\\n)", ""); output = output.toUpperCase(); output = output.replaceAll("[^XYZ]", ""); return output; } When i print my 'input' string of length 97498, it prints successfully. My output string after cleanup is of length 94788. I can print the size using output.length() but when I try to print this in Eclipse, output is empty and i can see in eclipse output console header. Since this is not my final program, so I ignored this and proceeded to next method that does pattern matching on this 'cleaned-up' string. Here is code for pattern matching: public static List<Integer> getIntervals(String input, String regex) { List<Integer> output = new ArrayList<Integer> (); // Do pattern matching Pattern p1 = Pattern.compile(regex); Matcher m1 = p1.matcher(input); // If match found while (m1.find()) { output.add(m1.start()); output.add(m1.end()); } return output; } Based on this program, i identify the start and end intervals of my pattern match as 12351 and 87314. I tried to print this match as output.substring(12351, 87314) and only get blank output. Numerous hit and trial runs resulted in the conclusion that biggest substring that i can print is of length 4679. If i try 4680, i again get blank input. My confusion is that if i was able to print original string (97498) length, why i couldnt print the cleaned-up string (length 94788) or the substring (length 4679). Is it due to regular expression implementation which may be causing some memory issues and my system is not able to handle that? I have 4GB installed memory.

  • String Vector program exits before input

    - by kylepayne
    So, I have a project that must add, delete, and print the contents of a vector... the problem is that, when run the program exits before I can type in the string to add to the vector. I commented the function that that portion is in. Thanks! #include <iostream> #include <cstdlib> #include <vector> #include <string> using namespace std; void menu(); void addvector(vector<string>& vec); void subvector(vector<string>& vec); void vectorsize(const vector<string>& vec); void printvec(const vector<string>& vec); void printvec_bw(const vector<string>& vec); int main() { vector<string> svector; menu(); return 0; } //functions definitions void menu() { vector<string> svector; int choice = 0; cout << "Thanks for using this program! \n" << "Enter 1 to add a string to the vector \n" << "Enter 2 to remove the last string from the vector \n" << "Enter 3 to print the vector size \n" << "Enter 4 to print the contents of the vector \n" << "Enter 5 ----------------------------------- backwards \n" << "Enter 6 to end the program \n"; cin >> choice; switch(choice) { case 1: addvector(svector); break; case 2: subvector(svector); break; case 3: vectorsize(svector); break; case 4: printvec(svector); break; case 5: printvec_bw(svector); break; case 6: exit(1); default: cout << "not a valid choice \n"; // menu is structured so that all other functions are called from it. } } void addvector(vector<string>& vec) { string line; int i = 0; cout << "Enter the string please \n"; getline(cin, line); // doesn't prompt for input! vec.push_back(line); } void subvector(vector<string>& vec) { vec.pop_back(); return; } void vectorsize(const vector<string>& vec) { if (vec.empty()) { cout << "vector is empty"; } else { cout << vec.size() << endl; } return; } void printvec(const vector<string>& vec) { for(int i = 0; i < vec.size(); i++) { cout << vec[i] << endl; } return; } void printvec_bw(const vector<string>& vec) { for(int i = vec.size(); i > 0; i--) { cout << vec[i] << endl; } return; }

  • null pointer exception comparing two strings in java.

    - by David
    I got this error message and I'm not quite sure whats wrong: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NullPointerException at Risk.runTeams(Risk.java:384) at Risk.blobRunner(Risk.java:220) at Risk.genRunner(Risk.java:207) at Risk.main(Risk.java:176) Here is the relevant bits of code (i will draw attention to the line numbers within the error message via comments in the code as well as inputs i put into the program while its running where relevant) public class Risk { ... public static void main (String[]arg) { String CPUcolor = CPUcolor () ; genRunner (CPUcolor) ; //line 176 ... } ... public static void genRunner (String CPUcolor) // when this method runs i select 0 and run blob since its my only option. Theres nothing wrong with this method so long as i know, this is only significant because it takes me to blob runner and because another one of our relelvent line numbers apears. { String[] strats = new String[1] ; strats[0] = "0 - Blob" ; int s = chooseStrat (strats) ; if (s == 0) blobRunner (CPUcolor) ; // this is line 207 } ... public static void blobRunner (String CPUcolor) { System.out.println ("blob Runner") ; int turn = 0 ; boolean gameOver = false ; Dice other = new Dice ("other") ; Dice a1 = new Dice ("a1") ; Dice a2 = new Dice ("a2") ; Dice a3 = new Dice ("a3") ; Dice d1 = new Dice ("d1") ; Dice d2 = new Dice ("d2") ; space (5) ; Territory[] board = makeBoard() ; IdiceRoll (other) ; String[] colors = runTeams(CPUcolor) ; //this is line 220 Card[] deck = Card.createDeck () ; System.out.println (StratUtil.canTurnIn (deck)) ; while (gameOver == false) { idler (deck) ; board = assignTerri (board, colors) ; checkBoard (board, colors) ; } } ... public static String[] runTeams (String CPUcolor) { boolean z = false ; String[] a = new String[6] ; while (z == false) { a = assignTeams () ; printOrder (a) ; boolean CPU = false ; for (int i = 0; i<a.length; i++) { if (a[i].equals(CPUcolor)) CPU = true ; //this is line 384 } if (CPU==false) { System.out.println ("ERROR YOU NEED TO INCLUDE THE COLOR OF THE CPU IN THE TURN ORDER") ; runTeams (CPUcolor) ; } System.out.println ("is this turn order correct? (Y/N)") ; String s = getIns () ; while (!((s.equals ("y")) || (s.equals ("Y")) || (s.equals ("n")) || (s.equals ("N")))) { System.out.println ("try again") ; s = getIns () ; } if (s.equals ("y") || s.equals ("Y") ) z = true ; } return a ; } ... } // This } closes the class The reason i don't think i should be getting a Null:pointerException is because in this line: a[i].equals(CPUcolor) a at index i holds a string and CPUcolor is a string. Both at this point definatly have a value neither is null. Can anyone please tell me whats going wrong?

  • Ruby on Rails: how to render a string as HTML?

    - by Tim
I have @str = "<b>Hi</b>" and in my erb view: <%= @str > What will display on the page is: <b>Hi</b> when what I really want is Hi. What's the ruby way to "interpret" a string as HTML markup? Edit: the case where @str = "<span class=\"classname\">hello</span>" If in my view I do <%raw @str %> The HTML source code is <span class=\"classname\">hello</span where what I really want is <span class="classname">hello</span> (without the backslashes that were escaping the double quotes). What's the best way to "unescape" those double quotes?
