So I have the following SOAP array in PHP to do this: $params = array( 'InternationalShippingServiceOption' => array( 'ShippingService'=>'StandardInternational', 'ShippingServiceCost'=>39.99, 'ShippingServicePriority'=>1, 'ShipToLocation'=>'CA', ) ) $client = new eBaySOAP($session); //eBaySOAP extends SoapClient $results = $client->AddItem($params); Everything works great, except I am not generating the currencyID="USD" attribute in the ShippingServiceCost tag in the XML.     Hi I have an XML column in my table which contains this xsd snippet: <xsd:element name="Postcode" minOccurs="0"> <xsd:simpleType> <xsd:restriction base="xsd:string"> <xsd:pattern value="^[0-9]{4}$" /> </xsd:restriction> </xsd:simpleType> </xsd:element> The regular expression should require a string containing 4 numerical digits. It validates perfectly in Visual Studio and is a correct regular expression. SQL Server, on the other hand, won't accept it. The error message I receive is: XML Validation: Invalid simple type value: '1234'. Location: / * : Donor[1]/*:Postcode[1]. I have an email address regex working fine, but can't get this simple numerical regex to work.

    Hi I have an xml webservice which I'm fetching using PrototypeJS. The xml has the correct content type and is well-formed, and looks like this: <GetTokenResponse xmlns="http://tempuri.org/"> <GetTokenResult>F655100D64F098F0AC33AFF414A4A0D5</GetTokenResult> </GetTokenResponse> The AJAX request is completing successfully, and I can access the GetTokenResult node in both IE and FF but can only get the text content of the node in FF. My code is below: node = transport.responseXML.documentElement.getElementsByTagName('GetTokenResult')[0]; rawToken = (document.all) ? node.innerText : node.textContent; I've tried innerText and innerHTML, as well as children[0] and a few other chance guesses but IE returns 'undefined' when I access rawToken.     I'm writing an ASP.NET MVC 2 application where one of the backing stores I plan to support is XML. I have a POCO that represents the settings for the site, along with an XML file to contain these settings. My question is what is the best way to validate this data as it is read from disk in to the POCO? I know I can use an XSD, or maybe use the Data Annotations library to mark up the POCO, and use reflection to validate the data, but is there another way, perhaps in .NET 3.5 or MVC to do this? I've spent some time Googling this issue, and want to be sure I'm doing it in the best manner. Thanks in advance!

Normally I try my best to fix anything on my own but this time I really have no idea what goes wrong, so I hope someone can help me out. I am building an iPhone app that parses a couple of xml files using TouchXML. I have a class XMLParser, which takes care of downloading and parsing the results. I am getting memory leaks when I parse an xml file more than once with the same instance of XMLParser. Instruments points me to this part inside CXMLNode.m, when I dig into a leaked object: theStringValue = [NSString stringWithUTF8String:(const char *)theXMLString]; if ( _node->type != CXMLTextKind ) xmlFree(theXMLString); } return(theStringValue); I really spent a long time and tried multiple approaches to fix this, but to no avail so far, maybe I am missing something essential?     The problem: I have to create a Flash video (in CS3) that will query a MySQL database and display that data at certain points in the video. The bigger problem: I'm not a Flash/ActionScript developer, so this is all very foreign to me! I've divided this project into two parts: a.) dynamically generate an XML feed from the data using PHP (using an ID number passed in the URL's query string), and b.) be able to work with it in Flash. I've got the first part working, but am pretty lost in Flash. I can parse the XML, but I'm not sure how to set the data up as variables and attach it to a video's cue points. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good tutorial or offer some advice?

    Hello, I wanna read feed entries and I'm just stuck now. Take this for example : http://stackoverflow.com/feeds/question/2084883 lets say I wanna read all the summary node value inside each entry node in document. How do I do that? I've changed many variations of code this one is closest to what I want to achieve I think : Element entryPoint = document.getRootElement(); Element elem; for(Iterator iter = entryPoint.elements().iterator(); iter.hasNext();){ elem = (Element)iter.next(); System.out.println(elem.getName()); } It goes trough all nodes in xml file and writes their name. Now what I wanted to do next is if(elem.getName() == "entry") to get only the entry nodes, how do I get elements of the entry nodes, and how to get let say summary and its value? tnx

    I am trying to use bing with PHP SOAP. It works fine for short strings. But for larger string I get following error: Fatal error: Uncaught SoapFault exception: [a:DeserializationFailed] The formatter threw an exception while trying to deserialize the message: Error in deserializing body of request message for operation 'Translate'. The maximum string content length quota (8192) has been exceeded while reading XML data. This quota may be increased by changing the MaxStringContentLength property on the XmlDictionaryReaderQuotas object used when creating the XML reader. Line 9, position 227. in ........ I am using XAMPP in windows 7. All the solution I found are for .net not the PHP. PHP has no web.config file as far as I concern. Any idea how can I solve it. Thank you Sadi

    I have a few simple questions, because I got confused reading all difference responses. 1) If I have an xml with prolog: and I'm going to unmarshall it with Java (for example: JaXB). I suppose, that I can't put CROSS OF LORRAINE (http://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/char/2628/index.htm) inside, but I can put "\u2628", correct? 2) I've also heard that UTF-8 doesn't contain it, but anything in Unicode can be saved with encoding UTF-8 (or UTF-16), and here is an example from this page: UTF-8 (hex) 0xE2 0x98 0xA8 (e298a8) Is my reasoning correct? Can I use this form and put it in the xml with utf-8 encoding?

  • Flash AS3 and XML: way to fix line breaks in htmlText that uses <b> tags in the xml?

    I'm importing text in from an xml file and i'm using htmlText to try to keep some styling with tags. I have both the regular and bold face font embedded, and the bolding works fine. The problem is that it ads spaces around the words in bold like a paragraph indent and then makes a line-break after them. What's going on, is there a way to fix? fromxmlText.htmlText = theXML.contenttext; If I pull the text in from a txt file it will work fine, but taking it out of an xml file causing funky formatting. lil' help?

I have XML that looks like this: <TimelineInfo> <PreTrialEd>Not Started</PreTrialEd> <Ambassador>Problem</Ambassador> <PsychEval>Completed</PsychEval> </TimelineInfo> And all I want to do is use C# to get the string stored between <Ambassador> and </Ambassador>. So far I have: XmlDocument doc = new XmlDocument(); doc.Load("C:\\test.xml"); XmlNode x = doc.SelectSingleNode("/TimelineInfo/Ambassador"); which selects the note just fine, now how in the world do I get the content in there?

    Hello, I have some xml: <Test> <thing location="home" status="good"/> <thing location=work" status="bad"/> <thing location="mountains" status="good"/> </Test> The leaves on the TreeView are the values of the status attribute; the nodes will be the value of the location attribute. +--bad ¦.....+--work +--good .......+--home .......+--mountains Currently, I populate the TreeView (or Tab control) manually, iterating through the xml, adding the nodes to the appropriate leaf. Can this be done via databinding? I'm guessing a Converter will be involved... Thanks for any advice.

    I have built my own little custom XML-RPC server, and since I'd like to keep things simple, on both server and client side, what I would like to accomplish is to create a simplest possible client (in C# preferably) using WCF. Let's say that Contract for service exposed via XML-RPC is as follows: [ServiceContract] public interface IContract { [OperationContract(Action="Ping")] string Ping(); // server returns back string "Pong" [OperationContract(Action="Echo")] string Echo(string message); // server echoes back whatever message is } So, there are two example methods, one without any arguments, and another with simple string argument, both returning strings (just for sake of example). Service is exposed via http. Aaand, what's next? :) P.S. I have tried googling around for samples and similar, but all that I could come up with are some blog-related samples that use existing (and very big/numerous) classes, which implement appropriate IContract (or IBlogger) interfaces, so that most of what I am interested is hidden below several layers of abstraction...
