• Using a Resource as an Attribute to a HTML Element in ASP.net

  I would like to have this piece of code in my .aspx file: <input class="ms-ButtonHeightWidth" type="button" name="BtnOK" id="Button2" value="Close" onclick="javascript:HandleOKButtonClick()" accesskey="<%$Resources:wss,okbutton_accesskey%>" /> Unfortunately, ASP.net doesn't seem to like that: An error occurred during the processing of /_layouts/MyPage/Info.aspx. Literal expressions like '<%$Resources:wss,okbutton_accesskey%>' are not allowed. Use <asp:Literal runat="server" Text="<%$Resources:wss,okbutton_accesskey%>" /> instead That doesn't work in this situation as that would mean nesting the Literal between the quotes of the accesskey attribute, which causes a "The tag contains duplicate 'ID' attributes" error. Is there a way to use a string from a resource without having to change the input to an asp:Button? I guess there has to be a way using <%=, but I don't know how I would address the resource itself?

• CURL alternative - Design ideas

  All, I am looking for some web application design ideas here. I have a server X that hosts an SDK, which has the capacity to talk a piece of hardware. When I make an HTTPS request from an external PHP web application (hosted on Server Y) to Server X through curl, Server X gives JSON data as a response. I use this data to render my UI for the web app on Server Y. The above method seems to be slow and has a tendency to fail in production if there are too many concurrent requests. Can anybody let me know if there is an alternative to CURL or any other design people are using to pull data like this from servers? Thanks

• C++: Best text accumulator

  Text gets accumulates piecemeal before being sent to client. Now we use own class that allocates memory for each piece as char massive. (Anyway, works like char[][] + std::list<char*>). Then we build the whole string, convert it into std::sting and then create boost::asio::streambuf using it. That's slow enough, I assume. Correct me if I'm wrong. I know, in many cases simple FILE type from stdio.h is used. How does it works? Allocates memory at every write into it. So, is it faster and is there any way to read into boost::asio::streambuf from FILE?

• jQuery UI sortable issue

  When I try to use a sortable event . (For instance the stop() event) It only works when I bind it using : $('.selector').bind('sortstop', function(event, ui) { ... }); rather than $('.selector').sortable({ stop: function(event, ui) { ... } }); Is there a missing piece in this? The only reason I ask is because when I bind using the actual bind() method it's not giving me access to the event or ui parameters I pass in. I'm always returned undefined.

  Hi all, I have a small piece of code which basically impements a HTTP-Client, i.e. it POSTS request and works with re RESPONSE. As long as HTTP is concenerned everthing work well. For some reason I now have to support HTTPS too. So here is briefly what I do in order to get a connection opened: URL url = new URL(serverAddress); HttpsURLConnection httpsConn = (HttpsURLConnection) url.openConnection(); This fails, stating: sun.net.www.protocol.https.HttpsURLConnectionImpl cannot be cast to com.sun.net.ssl.HttpsURLConnection I guess this is kinda trivial, but I just don't get what I'm doing wrong in this one... • Why not speed up testing by using function dependency graph?

  It seems logical to me that if you have a dependency graph of your source code (tree showing call stack of all functions in your code base) you should be able to save a tremendous amount of time doing functional and integration tests after each release. Essentially you will be able to tell the testers exactly what functionality to test as the rest of the features remain unchanged from a source code point of view. If for instance you change a spelling mistake in once piece of the code, there is no reason to run through your whole test script again "just in case" you introduced a critical bug. My question, why are dependency trees not used in software engineering and if you use them, how do you maintain them? What tools are available that generate these trees for C# .NET, C++ and C source code?

• JSF tags not being rendered as HTML

  I'm following the Java EE firstcup tutorial using Netbeans and Glassfish. When I execute the JSF web tier I've been instructed to code, the browser gets the same JSF markup coded in the .xhtml file, and the tags are not rendered as HTML tags. I know this by using the view source code in my browser. For example, for this code: <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core" xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html"> <h:head> <title>Page title here</title> </h:head> <h:body> <h2> <h:outputText value="#{bundle.WelcomeMessage}" /> </h2> </h:body> </html> The browser should get something like: <html ...> <head> <title>Page title here</title> </head> <body> <h2> the welcome message goes here </h2> </body> </html> Right? Well, my browser is getting jsf code (the first piece of code above) and not the html code (the second piece of code above). It seems to be a configuration problem in netbeans or glassfish but don't know what. Any ideas?   I can't solve it: You are given 8 integers: A, B, C representing a line on a plane with equation A*x + B*y = C a, b, c representing another line x, y representing a point on a plane The two lines are not parallel therefore divide plane into 4 pieces. Point (x, y) lies inside of one these pieces. Problem: Write a fast algorithm that will find a point with integer coordinates in the same piece as (x,y) that is closest to the cross point of the two given lines. Note: This is not a homework, this is old Euler-type task that I have absolutely no idea how to approach.

  I readed few book and acticles about Convolutional neural network, it seem I understand the concept but I don't know how to put it up like in image below: from 28x28 normalized pixel INPUT we get 4 feature map 24x24. but how to get them ? size the INPUT image ? or perform image transformation? but what kind of transformation? or cut up the input image to 4 piece 24x24 by 4 corner? I don't understand the process to me it seem they cut up or resize the image to more smaller at each step. please help thanks.

  Hi there, I'm refactoring a big piece of code atm where a long taking operation is executed in a servlet. Now sometimes I don't get a response after the operation has finished. (It has finished because it is printed into the logs) What I wish to achieve would some "fire and forget" behavior by the servlet. I would pass my params to the action and the servlet would immediately return a status (something like: the operation has started, check your logs for further info) Is this possible with servlet 2.5 spec? I think I could get such a behavior with JMS maybe any other solutions out there?

I have two comboboxes: Product Type Sub Cathegory The user need to select the Product type, and based on his selection, the second combobox must load the sub cathegories. • Updating rows using "in" operator in "where" clause

  Hi. I stumbled upon SQL behavior I don't understand. I needed to update several rows in a table at once; started with just finding them: SELECT * FROM some_table WHERE field1 IN (SELECT ...) This returned a selection of about 60 rows. Now I was pretty confident I got the subquery right, so I modified the first part only: UPDATE some_table SET field2 = some_value WHERE field1 IN (SELECT ...) In other words, this was exactly as the first query after the WHERE. However, it resulted in 0 rows updated, whereas I would expect those 60. Note that the statement above would change field2, i.e. I verified that some_value was not present in the selected rows. The subquery was a modestly complicated SQL piece with 2 (different) tables, 1 view, joins and its own WHERE clause. In case this matters, it happened with Oracle Database 10g. So, the question is, why UPDATE didn't touch the rows returned by SELECT?

• PHP to serial with weird baud rates

  I am trying to use PHP to send text to an LED sign so I can send support ticket numbers to it. The sign itself is a piece of work; it came from eBay and is poorly made with almost no documentation. After fiddling with it for a while, I was able to figure out the way it expected stuff to be sent to it and that the baud rate is 28800. I already know how to communicate with stuff like this using PHP, but I don't know how to change the baud rate to something nonstandard. I've tried other baud rates, and haven't been able to get it to work.

  I have a local git repository a "central" repo at github. I'm working on a part of a project, while a friend is working on a related piece that is its entirely seperate repo, is it possible for me to simply link directly to my friends repo? For example, the app is called widgets. I have all my code in widgets/app/mycode and my friend is writing code that goes into widgets/plugins/awesome/hiscode. I want to be able to always have http://github.com/mycode/widgets/plugins/hiscode to be a direct link or clone to http://github.com/hiscode/awesome ? It could be possible i'm missing something basic in my question or knowledge of git, if so please ask, and i'll be happy to try to fill in the blanks. I am deploying to my production site via capistrano, so maybe a script of some kind may be easier?? I don't know (that's why i'm posting)!!
