  • What are the best tools to help work with large ant files.

    I just started working at a company that has a very large ant build file that imports lots of other large/small ant files. Needless to say it's giving me a headache trying to figure out what is going on. What are the best tools out there for: Getting some kind of concise answer on what is happening Visualizing the various targets Seeing performance on tasks Can be multiple tools. Any other tips/suggestions? I tagged this as java since I don't have the reputation to create an ant tag.

  • Facing Problems While Installing Java

    First When i downloaded java from official website i got confused how to install it. den i searched it on software center and i got it. but wen i install it, it starts but instantly stops and the line highlighting the installation status in progress tab doesn't move forward.den i searched on internet and tried installing it by terminal but he terminal says that u have to first configure something that i dont know but it tells me to run this command-"sudo dpkg-configure -a" and when i run this command the terminal process stops in the middle and even after leaving it for about an hour it doesn't proceed further.. after that when i press the close button of the terminal if shows that some tasks are in progress and closing the terminal would...bla bla bla... so i am greatly confused because even other software's like gimp image editor and all are not getting installed.. please help me..!!

    My apologies if it is not a code problem. However, it is a problem that concerns programming. As a recently graduated Computer Systems Engineering I have gained some basic knowledge with programming using JAVA. I have realised 2 things, the first one is that I realy liked programming and the second is that I am not good at all. More specifically, I struggle on problem solving and when i face complex tasks I feel lost. Every day , I spend some quality time doing simple exercises in order to be more familiar with JAVA. My target is to become a good programmer and find a job on a software company. I am afraid maybe " I dont have it" thats why I am asking you , what should I do? Should i give up? In addition to the release documentation, the following new information is provided: A new document, Using the Image Ops API, describes how to read and write raw pixel data to and from JavaFX images. The Handling JavaFX Events document has been updated with more information on touch events. The Working with Touch Events chapter and Touch Events sample provide information about handling individual touch points to provide sophisticated responses to touch actions. The Implementing Best Practices document has been updated to include information about running tasks on background threads. The Troubleshooting section of Deploying JavaFX Applications now includes a section about disabling the automatic proxy configuration in your application code.   • dos games with dosbox running slow

    i have AMD E-450 1.65ghz, 4gb DDR3 ram, HD6320 laptop with dual boot ubuntu 13.04 and win 8.1, my main gaming rig(desktop pc) is with win7(so i am not playing serious games on this laptop) and for university i mostly use ubuntu(unix and programming tasks), for some free time i found dosbox on ubuntu software center and tryed playing several games(blood, syndicate wars) and all of them lag like hell(although on win 8.1 they work perfectly). So any suggestion how to solve the problem? i am using drivers X.org (in software settingsadditional settings) tryed proprietary ones but all screen colors was kinda strange and i couldn't control brightness at all... same dos games was lagging too.

  • Excel VBA and InternetExplorer causing errors on website

    I have some "clever" users who have written an excel spreadsheet that automates some of their tasks on our intranet/timesheet. It seems as if the instance of Internet Explorer that is created is not doing everything I expect a browser to do, e.g. set cookies. Is there a way to detect if a user is hitting a web site with a VBA com object instance of Internet Explorer? I can't keep users from building creative solutions but I want to be able to handle them. thanks

  • C++ vs Matlab vs Python as a main language for Computer Vision Postgraduate

    Hi all, Firstly, sorry for a somewhat long question but I think that many people are in the same situation as me and hopefully they can also gain some benefit from this. I'll be starting my PhD very soon which involve the fields of computer vision, pattern recognition and machine learning. Currently, I'm using opencv (2.1) C++ interface and I especially like its powerful Mat class and the overloaded operations available for matrix and image seamless operations and transformations. I've also tried (and implemented many small vision projects) using opencv python interface (new bindings; opencv 2.1) and I really enjoy python's ability to integrate opencv, numpy, scipy and matplotlib. But recently, I went back to opencv C++ interface because I felt that the official python new bindings were not stable enough and no overloaded operations are available for matrices and images, not to mention the lack of machine learning modules and slow speeds in certain operations. I've also used Matlab extensively in the past and although I've used mex files and other means to speed up the program, I just felt that Matlab's performance was inadequate for real-time vision tasks, be it for fast prototyping or not. When the project becomes larger and larger, many tasks have to be re-written in C and compiled into Mex files increasingly and Matlab becomes nothing more than a glue language. Here comes the sub-questions: For postgrad studies in these fields (machine learning, vision, pattern recognition), what is your main or ideal programming language for rapid prototyping of ideas and testing algorithms contained in papers? For postgrad studies, can you list down the pros and cons of using the following languages? C++ (with opencv + gsl + svmlib + other libraries) vs Matlab (with all its toolboxes) vs python (with the imcomplete opencv bindings + numpy + scipy + matplotlib). Are there computer vision PhD/postgrad students here who are using only C++ (with all its availabe libraries including opencv) without even needing to resort to Matlab or python? In other words, given the current existing computer vision or machine learning libraries, is C++ alone sufficient for fast prototyping of ideas? If you're currently using Java or C# for your postgrad work, can you list down the reasons why they should be used and how they compare to other languages in terms of available libraries? What is the de facto vision/machine learning programming language and its associated libraries used in your university research group? Thanks in advance.

  • Binding a wpf listbox to a combobox

    Hi there, I have created a very basic wpf application that I want to use to record time entries against different projects. I havent used mvvm for this as I think its an overkill. I have a form that contains a combobox and a listbox. I have created a basic entity model like this What I am trying to do is bind the combobox to Project and whenever I select an item from the combobox it updates the listview with the available tasks associated with that project. This is my xaml so far. I dont have any code behind as I have simply clicked on that Data menu and then datasources and dragged and dropped the items over. The application loads ok and the combobox is been populated however nothing is displaying in the listbox.   • use stream_socket_client to retrieve 2 remote files at the same time

    I have a script in PHP which retrieves two very similar files and performs some tasks on the data then outputs a result. I'm currently using curl and getting one, processing it, then getting the other and processing it. I want to switch to stream_socket_client as I've heard you can retrieve both files at the same time and do the processing once they have been retrieved but I am unsure how to do this.

  • Adding AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers with MSBuild

    I am using CC.Net with MSBuild tasks to build an application that is composed of a number of solutions and projects. We are using the AssemblyInfo MSBuild Community task to update version info in AssemblyInfo.cs. Unfortunately the AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers attribute doesn't get in and the AssemblyInfo task tells me that the AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers attribute is not supported by the task. Is there any way to add that attribute through MSBuild without having to resort to a custom task that just tacks the line at the end of the file after-the-fact?
