• WebDAV, SVN, Apache2 on OS X 10.6.2

  Hi there, I'm trying to configure SVN server on OS X 10.6.2 via Apache2. Whenever I enable the module in Wev - Settings - Services then try accessing the site, it fails. So I attempted an apachectl configtest and I'm getting a crazy amount of errors: httpd: Syntax error on line 132 of /private/etc/apache2/httpd.conf: Cannot load /usr/libexec/apache2/mod_dav_fs.so into server: dlopen(/usr/libexec/apache2/mod_dav_fs.so, 10): Symbol not found: _dav_add_response\n Referenced from: /usr/libexec/apache2/mode_dev_fs.so\n Expected in: flat namespace\n in /usr/livexec/apache2/mod_dav_fs.so When I attempt disabling the related services and enabling then one by one (dav_fs_module, dav_module, dav_svn_module and authz_svn_mod each seems to fail. • How can I set audit controls on files owned by TrustedInstaller using Powershell?

  I am trying to set audit controls on a number of files (listed in ACLsWin.txt) located in \%Windows%\System32 (for example, aaclient.dll) using the following Powershell script: $FileList = Get-Content ".\ACLsWin.txt" $ACL = New-Object System.Security.AccessControl.FileSecurity $AccessRule = New-Object System.Security.AccessControl.FileSystemAuditRule("Everyone", "Delete", "Failure") $ACL.AddAuditRule($AccessRule) foreach($File in $FileList) { Write-Host "Changing audit on $File" $ACL | Set-Acl $File } Whenever I run the script, I get the error PermissionDenied [Set-Acl] UnauthorizedAccessException. This seems to come from the fact that the owner of these files is TrustedInstaller. I am running these scripts as Administrator (even though I'm on the the built-in Administrator account) and it's still failing. I can set these audit controls by hand using the Security tab, but there are at least 200 files for which doing by hand may lead to human errors. How can I get around TrustedInstaller and set these audit controls using Powershell?

• Best solution for Multi-WAN failover (inside & out)?

  Looking for a way to setup 2 ISPs in failover mode, for both incoming & outgoing traffic, for our small (<100 devices) network. The leading contender for now seems to be the Peplink Balance 310. However, a reseller I spoke with said it's great for 100% outgoing connectivity, but didn't seem to be confident in its abilities to handle incoming traffic. This is important as we host our own web site, Exchange e-mail, and virtual desktops (RDP). Do any Peplink owners use this for failover of incoming traffic? Are there other devices I should be considering? We're currently using a Cisco 1800 series router & ASA 5500 series firewall, with Comcast & T-1 lines (the goal being to replace the T with DSL/FiOS {whenever that becomes availble}). Price range: ~$1000 - $2500 USD. Thanks.

When i try to excess my personal folder. no access coming..but i can open my personal folder in web browser.other user are able to acess their folder. It happed to me only. whenever i tried, its only showing one shared folder which is visble and shared to all user.. • Using a secondary DNS when lookup fails in primary? [migrated]

  I use a VPN to connect my development machine to my school's CS dept. The development machine is Ubuntu as we do C programming in Unix. I used vpnc to do that. The school uses some DNS entries that only resolve on their DNS servers, i.e., internalserver.csdept.school.edu I am normally attached to the VPN whenever booted for convenience. However I noticed the other day that when I disconnect the VPN all my DNS queries fail. This obviously means that vpnc set up the school's DNS to be used. However I'd rather not use their DNS all the time (tracking and privacy and whatnot). Is there a way I can restore my ISP's DNS and then if the lookup fails, have it use my school's DNS?

• Error "403 Forbidden" on Sharepoint Search Settings Page

  Hello I thought I had solved this nightmare by re-entering the values in my SSP properties set up, however accessing the Search Settings page error has reared it ugly head again.   Hi, I am using Win 7 64 bit with Firefox as my web browser. Whenever I double click on the FF icon to open my firefox, there would be a chinese website, loading as a tab on my FF. I have checked on my setting for startup homepage for FF under the Tools > Options, it was set to Google as my default page. Can anyone please advise how can I remove the disturbing chinese website from loading on my ff everytime I open my firefox? Thank you very much.

• Error logging with PHP and mod_fcgid

  I have a mediawiki install that is acting up. Whenever I try to save an article, it goes to a blank screen. All though if I refresh that blank screen, it will go on to work. I have no idea why it's doing that, but it seems to be that it's a problem with PHP. I guess by default errors don't get logged when using mod_fcgid, because I can't find an error log anywhere. I tried enabling logging in the /etc/php5/cgi/php.ini, but that didn't do anything. How do I achieve php error logging? I'm using ubuntu 9.10.

• Centos livecd of current installation

  I'm trying to create a liveCD of my current Centos installation. i want it to be almost like a backup, so whenever I want to copy my current installation to another computer I would simply install from my custom liveCD. I know this is possible, and found some resources in the nets, but they all seem to only create a minimal version of CENTOS, and I'm wanting to have all the current functionalities available to me at present, including all of my development functionalities, Apache and samba settings, etc. I have done (on Debian though) it a few years ago, but can't remember how. could anyone please shed me a light on this? • Constant Memory Leak in SpeechSynthesizer

  I have developed a project which I would like to release which uses c#, WPF and the System.Speech.Synthesizer object. The issue preventing the release of this project is that whenever SpeakAsync is called it leaves a memory leak that grows to the point of eventual failure. I believe I have cleaned up properly after using this object, but cannot find a cure. I have run the program through Ants Memory Profiler and it reports that WAVEHDR and WaveHeader is growing with each call. I have created a sample project to try to pinpoint the cause, but am still at a loss. Any help would be appreciated. The project uses VS2008 and is a c# WPF project that targets .NET 3.5 and Any CPU. You need to manually add a reference to System.Speech. • Copying Chinese Characters from PDF

  I am on a Windows 7 laptop, which I believe comes pre installed with all the language packs to my knowledge. I can see Chinese characters with no issues and normally can copy them fine. (From browser to Microsoft Office works great). I have many PDFs with chinese characters in them, whenever I try to copy them and paste them into another program such as a browser, Microsoft Office, ect I just get strange foreign characters such as: This is copying a line. It is in this order: Chinese characters, pinyin (chinese in roman letters), and then the Englis translation. ,ô t¯ing w?o shu¯o listen to me The pinyin is also getting messed up, as the tonal marks (accents) about each letter are moving to a space of their own. Any ideas on to how to fix this? Thank you very much!

• Chinese IME - Shape toggle key won't save

  Hello everyone, Whenever I use Google IME or other IMEs like Sogou, I always encounter the same problem: half/full-width toggle. It's easy to set half-width by default in ime prefs, but toggle key is maintained by Windows, and here the fun begins. I use Win7 x64 Ultimate. Open the "Text services and input languages", go to "Advanced key settings". Here I see "Chinese (Simplified) IME - Shape Toggle" is set to "Shift+Space". When I try to change it, it appears as if it has changed, but if you click on "Apply" instead of "OK", or just open the window again, you can see it's still "Shift+Space". The same happens with disabling this toggle - disables and goes back on Apply or reopen. Not sure if it's a bug in Win7, so asking here. Please save me. :) Thanks!

• Exchange not preserving the "To:" field

  I've got a hosted exchange solution through Apptix, which isn't the problem, I think, but it may be relevant. I have my main account, [email protected], and to that, I have an alias, [email protected]. Whenever I send an email to [email protected], I examine the headers, and I see the "To:" field being correct, "To: [email protected]". All is well. I recently set up another user, [email protected] to function as a multipurpose mailbox. I aliased "[email protected]" to the services account in the same method that I did "[email protected]", however nothing I have sent to "[email protected]" actually goes TO "[email protected]". All of the headers say "To: [email protected]". This makes it extremely difficult to filter based on headers alone. Does anyone have any feedback on what settings I would need to look at in order to fix that?

• RDP from domain workstation to non-domain workstation via VPN

  I am trying to RDP from a domain computer to a non-domain computer over a VPN. I created a rdp profile for a specified user (for example user name: USERX) with the option to save the password. I am able to establish the connection the first time by entering in the password. However, from that point on, whenever the RDP link is reestablished, it would state that my login details were incorrect and ask me re-type the password for COMP\USERX. Problem is, I don't have a domain called COMP and the password would fail even if reentered. The only way I can reestablish the connection is by choosing the option to login as another user.

• Stop Zabbix notification for nodes under zabbix-proxy when proxy service is down

  I have a zabbix-proxy and 12 nodes in that proxy. Right now whenever proxy service goes down. It send out of reach mail for all the 12 nodes. I want to send mail only for the zabbix proxy not for the nodes under that proxy Updated: Now I am trying to have a single trigger in which I want to check both the conditions like 1-check zabbix-host is not accessble from past x minutes. 2-check the host is not giving any data to the proxy(Host is down). Not the trigger should start shouting onle when we have condition in which proxy is running and node is down. I tried the below but its not working for me.   Using wget command, how do I allow/instruct to overwrite my local file everytime, irrespective of how many times I invoke. Let's say, I want to download a file from the location: http://server/folder/file1.html Here, whenever I say wget http://server/folder/file1.html, I want this file1.html to be overwritten in my local system irrespective of the time it is changed, already downloaded, etc. My intention/use case here is that when I call wget, I'm very sure that I want to replace/overwrite the existing file. • KVM online disk resize?

  We're evaluting KVM for Linux virtualization on a few projects. All is going well so far. But one of our requirements is the ability to add disk space to a running guest without rebooting or taking it offline. Is this possible with KVM? The only thing I've found so far (but have not tested yet) is the ability to hotplug disks into the machine. If I go this route, then I could always add the new disk to an LVM volume group on the guest and then extend the chosen logical volume. The biggest downside to this approach is that over time we might end up with guests having variable numbers of virtual disks. The "real" disk space would be provided to the host over a SAN, so we can always add more space to the host whenever.

I know we can run a custom scan for the particular drive or specific folder but that process is too lengthy and time consuming. This guide explain that how we can add the Windows Defender in the desktop right click menu, so I'm curious is there a way to add it in the Windows explorer right click menu to launch a search whenever I need to.

• How to remove Ahnlab policy agent?

  Anybody know how to remove the Ahnlab Policy agent? I was forced to install it so that I could connect to the campus network when I visited Korea. Now that I'm home, I would like to remove it. However, it resists all uninstallation efforts. It gives me an Access is denied error whenever I try to stop the service. Used AppRemover too, to no avail. Tried removing it in safe mode but it doesn't work either. Does anybody know of a solution short of booting up a Linux distro and deleting the Ahnlab files with it?

• TFTP uploads failing

  I am running TFTPD via xinetd on a Centos 5.4 server. I am able to access files via tftp fine, so I know the service is running ok. However, whenever I try and upload a file I get a 0 Permission denied message. I have already created the file in /tftpboot and set the permissions to 666. My tftpd config has verbose logging (-vvvv), but all I see in my /var/log/messages is: START: tftp pid=20383 from=192.168.77.4 I have seen some mention that SELinux can prevent TFTPD uploads, but I'd expect to see something in the logs. I have SELinux set in permissive mode. Any ideas?

• Wrong DNS query in Active directory network with NetBIOS enabled client

  The setup: Active Directory is enabled on the network (abcd.com) We have a single character host name (1.abcd.com) one of the desktop has an old XP with NetBIOS stuff enabled The Problem Whenever we query for any host name from the XP machine, the first character alone is taken for DNS query (one.abcd.com will query for o.abcd.com, two.abcd.com will query for t.abcd.com) Even if we give some IP, the application queries with numeric prefix (10.x.x.x will query for 1.abcd.com).Since we already have 1.abcd.com, all query and traffic ends up in 1.abcd.com After discussion with network guys, it seems netbios DNS queries by having some prefix etc. but none of them is actually sure on what is happening. Is there any docs which can explain this behavior ? Is this valid behavior in NetBIOS environment ?

• Fedora 12 How to Force a Display to Load on Boot even when no Monitor is Attached

  When booting Fedora 12 with no monitor connected, if I connect a monitor later it gives a no signal error. I think it is set to auto-detect if a monitor is connected or not and load a display based of that. Since it initially detects no monitor no display is loaded. What I would like to do is have it act as if a monitor was always connected and provide the display signal always. I don't know if this is the issue or not but if you know how I might be able to fix this issue so that I can connect a monitor whenever I feel like it without having to restart that would be best. • ESXi 4.1 CentOS 6.X eth0 unnavailable

  I don't usually ask for help so directly, usually google have all i need but this time i'm seriously lost. Hope you can help me .s The thing is, i have a server with Vmware ESXi 4.1 and 5 already running and configured virtual servers, but whenever i try to make a new one on CentOS 6.X it leaves me without eth0 to be activated in any way. When installing CentOS, in the screen of localhost.localdomain i try by the button in the left down corner of the screen to make eth0 connect automatically but it tells me a NetworkManager Error: cannot start eth0. So...in command line once the CentOS is already installed, i have configured ifcfg-eth0 and manually tried to take up the eth0 but when i restart network service "Bringing up eth0: Failed" and sometimes even "shutting down eth0: Failed" Thanks in advance

• Linux Mint 13 64bit Cinnamon and Oracle Virtualbox: 3d acceleration crash

  I've recently got an interest in Linux. After some research, it looks like Linux Mint 13 cinnamon is hot and I thought I'd try it out... I'm running Windows 7 64bit and have experience with Oracle Virtual Box. So I thought it would be a good idea to try out Linux Mint inside Virtual Box. I download Linux Mint 13 64bit Cinnamon and set it up in my VM player... Nothing special about my settings. Except Linux Mint 13 Cinnamon requires 3d acceleration, and when I enable that, it crashes whenever I open the Menu in the bottom left corner of the guest OS (and some other times too)... I've seen other mentions of this problem on the web, but no solutions. Is there a solution? If not, any suggestions short of installing the OS on a partition for trying out this OS (I'm not interested in the LIve mode either - I'd really like to get the full feel for it)?
