  Using cruisecontrol for continuous integration, I have some annoyances with Weblogic Ant tasks and how they think that server debug information are warnings rather than debug, so are shown in my build report emails. The XML output from cruise is similar to: <cruisecontrol> <build> <target name="compile-xxx"> <task name="xxx" /> </target> <target name="xxx.weblogic"> <task name="wldeploy"> <message priority="warn">Message which isn't really a warning"</message> </task> </target> </build> </cruisecontrol> In the cruisecontrol XSL template the current selection for the task list is: <xsl:variable name="tasklist" select="/cruisecontrol/build//target/task"/> What I would like is something which selects the tasklist in the same way, but doesn't include any target nodes which have the attribute name="*weblogic" where * is a wildcard. I have tried <xsl:variable name="tasklist" select="/cruisecontrol/build//target[@name!='*weblogic']/task"/> but this doesn't seem to have worked. I'm not an expert with XSLT, and just want to get this fixed so I can carry on the real development of the project. Any help is much appreciated.

• MySQLDB query not returning all rows

  I am trying to do a simple fetch using MySQLDB in Python. I have 2 tables(Accounts & Products). I have to look up Accounts table, get acc_id from it & query the Products table using it. The Products tables has more than 10 rows. But when I run this code it randomly returns between 0 & 6 rows each time I run it. Here's the code snippet: # Set up connection con = mdb.connect('db.xxxxx.com', 'user', 'password', 'mydb') # Create cursor cur = con.cursor() # Execute query cur.execute("SELECT acc_id FROM Accounts WHERE ext_acc = '%s'" % account_num ) # account_num is alpha-numberic and is got from preceding part of the program # A tuple is returned, so get the 0th item from it acc_id = cur.fetchone()[0] print "account_id = ", acc_id # Close the cursor - I was not sure if I can reuse it cur.close() # Reopen the cursor cur = con.cursor() # Second query cur.execute("SELECT * FROM Products WHERE account_id = %d" % acc_id) keys = cur.fetchall() print cur.rowcount # This prints incorrect row count for key in keys: # Does not print all rows. Tried to directly print keys instead of iterating - same result :( print key # Closing the cursor & connection cur.close() con.close() The weird part is, I tried to step through the code using a debugger(PyDev on Eclipse) and it correctly gets all rows(both the value stored in the variable 'keys' as well as console output are correct). I am sure my DB has correct data since I ran the same SQL on MySQL console & got the correct result. Just to be sure I was not improperly closing the connection, I tried using with con instead of manually closing the connection and it's the same result. I did RTFM but I couldn't find much in it to help me with this issue. Where am I going wrong? Thank you. EDIT: I noticed another weird thing now. In the line cur.execute("SELECT * FROM Products WHERE account_id = %d" % acc_id), I hard-coded the acc_id value, i.e made it cur.execute("SELECT * FROM Products WHERE account_id = %d" % 322) and it returns all rows

• Threads syncronization with ThreadPoolExecutor

  I'm trying to implement some logic when I create main(father) thread witch executes several other threads. Then it waits for some condition which child threads creates. After condition is meet the father executes some more child threads. The problem that when I use wait/notify I have java.lang.IllegalMonitorStateException exception. The code will run without error. I need to optimize the code, because in peak hours the zf_TickEvent method will be call more than 10000 times a second. I use a memorystream to hold the data until it reaches a certain size, then I output it into a text file.   I know it is super noob and will be answered in no time, but I could not figure.. sorry for any inconvenience.. Here is the thing: ID colA colB Length 1 seq1 seq11 1 2 seq1 seq11 11 3 seq3 seq33 21 4 seq3 seq33 14 I have a db with this kind of a table, has more than 10M rows. I want to loop though colA first, get the relevant colB value, and check if there are any other occurrences of the same value. For example in colB (seq11) there are 2 occurrences of colA(seq1), this time I have to combine those and output the sum of the length. Similar to this: ID colA colB Length 1 seq1 seq11 12 2 seq3 seq33 35 I am a bit java guy, but because my colleague has written everything in php and this will be just an adding, i need a php solution. With java i would have used hashmap, so that I would have the colA data once and just increment the value of "Length Column".. I know it is not a proper question, but.. • GIT: head has dissapeared, want to merge it into master.

  The top image is the output of: git reflog. The bottom is what GITK in GIT GUI (msysgit) shows me when I look at all branch history. The last few commits do not show on GIT GUI. Why do they not show on GITK (at least as a branch or something)? How do I merge them into master? I gather this happened when I checked out tag 0.42. Why is that not the same as master? (I had tagged the master in its latest state) When I click push, why does the remote repo claim to be up to date.. shouldn't it try to update these commits into whatever branch they are in? The first of the questions is important - I would like to begin to understand what GIT is thinking. It's more oracle than logic at this point. If it makes a difference to see the earlier history, the project is a [pretty powerful] JS color picker that can be viewed here in its entirety.

• Using Threads to Handle Sockets

  I am working on a java program that is essentially a chat room. This is an assignment for class so no code please, I am just having some issues determining the most feasible way to handle what I need to do. I have a server program already setup for a single client using threads to get the data input stream and a thread to handle sending on the data output stream. What I need to do now is create a new thread for each incoming request. My thought is to create a linked list to contain either the client sockets, or possibly the thread. Where I am stumbling is figuring out how to handle sending the messages out to all the clients. If I have a thread for each incoming message how can I then turn around and send that out to each client socket. I'm thinking that if I had a linkedlist of the clientsockets I could then traverse the list and send it out to each one, but then I would have to create a dataoutputstream each time. Could I create a linkedlist of dataoutputstreams? Sorry if it sounds like I'm rambling but I don't want to just start coding this, it could get messy without a good plan. Thanks!

• lightbox dynamic image retrieval

  I am constructing a lighbox gallery, currently experimenting with FancyBox (http://fancybox.net) and ColorBox (http://colorpowered.com/colorbox). By default you have to include a link to the large version of the image so that the Lightbox can display it. However, I am wanting to have the image link URLs pointing to a script rather than directly to the image file. So for example, instead of: <a href="mysite/images/myimage.jpg"> I want to do: <a href="mysite/photos/view/abc123"> The above URL points to a function: public function actionPhotos($view) { $photo=Photo::model()->find('name=:name', array(':name'=>$view)); if(!empty($photo)) { $user=$photo->user; $this->renderPartial('_photo', array('user'=>$user, 'photo'=>$photo, true)); } } At some point in the future the function will also update the view count of the image. Now this approach is working to an extent - most images load up but some do not load up (the lightbox gets displayed in a malformed state). I think the reason for this is because it is not processing the function quick enough. For example when I click the "next" button it needs to go to the URL, process the function and retreive/output the response. Does anybody know how I can get this working properly?

  I've this program which finds substring in a string. It works for small inputs. But fails for long inputs.   I have a custom shortcode tag with a few attributes, and I would like to be able to display its attributes on new lines - to make it more readable to content editors: [component attr1 ="value1" attr2 ="value of the second one" attr3 ="another" attr4 ="value" ... attrN ="valueN"] The reason behind this requirement is that a few attributes might be quite verbose in content. Unfortunately, wpautop() adds some nasty extra markup that breaks the args array like this (using php print_r($args)): Array ( [0] => attr1 [1] => ="value1" /> [3] => attr2 = [4] => "value [5] => of [6] => the [7] => second [8] => one" /> [10] => "" //...and more like this) I've tried with the attributes inline: [component attr1 ="value1" attr2 ="value of the second one" ="value"... attrN ="valueN"] and the output is as expected: Array ( [attr1] => value1 [attr2] => value of the second one [attr3] => //...and so on) is there any way to have the attributes intented and avoid that extra markup that breaks the $args array?

• Append to the end of a Char array in C++

  Is there a command that can append one array of char onto another? Something that would theoretically work like this: //array1 has already been set to "The dog jumps " //array2 has already been set to "over the log" append(array2,array1); cout << array1; //would output "The dog jumps over the log"; This is a pretty easy function to make I would think, I am just surprised there isn't a built in command for it. *Edit I should have been more clear, I didn't mean changing the size of the array. If array1 was set to 50 characters, but was only using 10 of them, you would still have 40 characters to work with. I was thinking an automatic command that would essentially do: //assuming array1 has 10 characters but was declared with 25 and array2 has 5 characters int i=10; int z=0; do{ array1[i] = array2[z]; ++i; ++z; }while(array[z] != '\0'); I am pretty sure that syntax would work, or something similar.

  Still early days with Mathematica so please forgive what is probably a very obvious question. I am trying to generate some parametric plots. I have: ParametricPlot[{ (a + b) Cos[t] - h Cos[(a + b)/b t], (a + b) Sin[t] - h Sin[(a + b)/b t]}, {t, 0, 2 \[Pi]}, PlotRange -> All] /. {a -> 2, b -> 1, h -> 1} No joy: the replacement rules are not applied and a, b and h remain undefined. If I instead do: Hold@ParametricPlot[{ (a + b) Cos[t] - h Cos[(a + b)/b t], (a + b) Sin[t] - h Sin[(a + b)/b t]}, {t, 0, 2 \[Pi]}, PlotRange -> All] /. {a -> 2, b -> 1, h -> 1} it looks like the rules ARE working, as confirmed by the output: Hold[ParametricPlot[{(2 + 1) Cos[t] - 1 Cos[(2 + 1) t], (2 + 1) Sin[t] - 1 Sin[(2 + 1) t]}, {t, 0, 2 \[Pi]}, PlotRange -> All]] Which is what I'd expect. Take the Hold off, though, and the ParametricPlot doesn't work. There's nothing wrong with the equations or the ParametricPlot itself, though, because I tried setting values for a, b and h in a separate expression (a=2; b=1; h=1) and I get my pretty double cardoid out as expected. So, what am I doing wrong with ReplaceAll and why are the transformation rules not working? This is another fundamentally important aspect of MMA that my OOP-ruined brain isn't understanding. I tried reading up on ReplaceAll and ParametricPlot and the closest clue I found was that "ParametricPlot has attribute HoldAll and evaluates f only after assigning specific numerical values to variables" which didn't help much or I wouldn't be here. • Why doesn't `stdin.read()` read entire buffer?

• Optimising ruby regexp -- lots of match groups

  I'm working on a ruby baser lexer. To improve performance, I joined up all tokens' regexps into one big regexp with match group names. Now, I need to figure the match group where it belongs (it's clearly visible from #inspect output that it's _anonymous-1038694222803470993, but I need to get it programmatically). I could not find any option other than iterating over #names: m.names.each do |n| if m[n] type = n.to_sym resolved_type = (n.start_with?('__anonymous_') ? nil : type) val = m[n] break end end which verifies that the match group did have a match. The problem here is that it's slow (I spend about 10% of time in the loop; also 8% grabbing the @input[@pos..-1] to make sure that \A works as expected to match start of string (I do not discard input, just shift the @pos in it). You can check the full code at GH repo. Any ideas on how to make it at least a bit faster? Is there any option to figure the "successful" match group easier?

• Is it possible to aggregate over differing where clauses?

  Is it possible to calculate multiple aggregates based on differing where clauses? For instance: Let's say I have two tables, one for Invoice and one for InvoiceLineItems. The invoice table has a total field for the invoice total, and each of the invoice line item records in the InvoiceLineItems table contains a field that denotes whether the line item is discountable or not. I want three sum totals, one where Discountable = 0 and one where Discountable = 1 and one where Discountable is irrelevant. Such that my output would be: InvoiceNumber Total DiscountableTotal NonDiscountableTotal ------------- ----- ----------------- -------------------- 1 53.27 27.27 16.00 2 38.94 4.76 34.18 3... • Perl, Net::Traceroute::PurePerl return value

  This is a sub routine that I copied from CPAN. It works fine as it is when I run it from the command line. I have a similar function from Net::Traceroute that also works fine AND allows me to return the string with a SOAP call. The problem comes when I try to return the ~string(?) from the function below with a SOAP call. sub tr { use Net::Traceroute::PurePerl; my $t = new Net::Traceroute::PurePerl( backend => 'PurePerl', # this optional host => 'www.whatever.com', debug => 0, max_ttl => 30, query_timeout => 2, packetlen => 40, protocol => 'udp', # Or icmp ); $t->traceroute; $t->pretty_print; return $t; #print $t; } The output looks like a string except the last part of the string looks like this: 28 * * * 29 * * * 30 * * * Net::Traceroute::PurePerl=HASH(0x11fa6bf0) I don't know what is different about Net::Traceroute::PurePerl that won't allow me to return the value with SOAP since the Net::Traceroute version does allow me to return it with SOAP.
