  • Share folder and access this folder on different domain

    the following situations: i have two pc's. My work desktop with XP and logged on in domain mywork.com. This desktop also has two network card. one for logging on the mywork.com domain and using the intranet etc. this desktop also has a network card with access to a switch. the other pc is a windows 7 pc. with is logged in to workgroup domain and also access the switch. now i want to access a shared folder from XP with my 7. but this is not possible because XP is in a different domain. 7 is asked for a user and password but i can't fill in my "mywork.com" login. how can i solve this?

  • Disable .htaccess or disable some rules from .htaccess on specific URL

    I have Kerberos-based authentication and I want to disable it on only root url: mysite.com/. And I want it to works fine on any other page like mysite.com/page1. I have such things in my .htaccess: AuthType Kerberos AuthName "Domain login" KrbAuthRealms DOMAIN.COM KrbMethodK5Passwd on Krb5KeyTab /etc/httpd/httpd.keytab require valid-user I want to turn it off only for root URL. As workaround it is possible to turn off using .htaccess in virtual host config. Unfortunately I don't know how to do it. Part of my vhost.conf: <Directory /home/user/www/current/public/> Options -MultiViews +FollowSymLinks AllowOverride All Order allow,deny Allow from all </Directory> It would be great if you can advice me something!

  • EC2 hosted service multi-tenant dynamic DNS solution

    I want to change the model of my EC2 hosted service to have a separate sub domain for each tenant (ie. .example.com). My primary DNS is now with dnsmadeeasy.com, but their dynamic DNS offering seem pretty weak: it requires the API to use my full dnsmadeeasy.com account credentials, I rather have the API use a limited privilege credential that can only add/remove/modify subdomain records from what I gather it only allows to modify existing records, does not allow me to dynamically add/remove records for new tenant subdomains My question what are my alternatives? Is there something in the dnsmadeeasy API offering I misunderstood and I should just use them? Is there some other similar DNS service that has a DDNS offering that satisfies my requirements? Or should I just bite the bullet and host my own DNS (my fear is not configuration/learning/know how, my fear is reliability). If you recommend the latter, can you detail the necessary steps or a link to a good tutorial how to?

  • svn: unknown hostname for hostname that does indeed exist

    I am running a centos 5 image on the vmware player and as of recently, I was able to check out from a repository that is no longer working. I am now getting: svn: Unknown hostname 'www.kennykong.com' It is a valid hostname and I know this because I have this svn location on Windows and I can browse/checkout no problem. After doing some searching I have (mostly blindly) assumed it's a DNS error because for i in 'grep nameserver /etc/resolv.conf | cut -d " " -f 2' ; do dig @$i domain.com ; done returns done ; <<>> DiG 9.3.6-P1-RedHat-9.3.6-4.P1.el5 <<>> @192.168.1.1 domain.com ; (1 server found) ;; global options: printcmd ;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached I am unsure what to do from here to get my centos to recognize more servers

  • Subversion error: Repository moved permanently to please relocate

    I've set up subversion and apache on my server. If I browse to it through my webbrowser it works fine (http://svn.host.com/reposname). However, if I do a checkout on my machine I get the following error: Command: Checkout from http://svn.host.com/reposname, revision HEAD, Fully recursive, Externals included Error: Repository moved permanently to 'http://svn.host.com/reposname/'; please relocate I checked apache's error log, but it doesn't say anything. My repositories are stored under: /var/www/svn/repos/ My website is stored under: /var/www/vhosts/x/... Here's the conf file for the subdomain: <Location /> Options +indexes DAV svn SVNParentPath /var/www/svn/repos/ AuthType Basic AuthName "Authorization Realm" AuthUserFile /var/www/svn/auth/svn.htpasswd Require valid-user </Location> Authentication works fine.   • Windows XP update not working

    I have a problem with XP updating. It hangs when I try to search for updates on the website. But the automatic updates still work. And it's running IE6, so I'm trying to update to IE8, hoping that will fix the problems with the website. But when installing IE8 it just hangs at Installing Internet Explorer 8 for Windows XP And if I try to install it manually, it hangs when installing the updates for IE8.     I have an install of Bugzilla I'm trying to implement SSL on. When I go into the parameters screen and edit SSLBASE adding in the full url: https://foo.com/bugzilla/ the editparams.cgi times out on loading and I have the following error in the apache log [Tue Mar 30 19:29:39 2010] [error] [client xxx.xx.xx.xx ] (70007)The timeout specified has expired: ap_content_length_filter: apr_bucket_read() failed, referer: http://foo.com/bugzilla/editparams.cgi On install I also received this error: WARNING: You need to set the max_allowed_packet parameter in your MySQL configuration to at least 3276750. Currently it is set to 3275776. You can set this parameter in the [mysqld] section of your MySQL configuration file. How can I force this to work? Editing other parameters (eg urlbase) work fine. The SSL site is setup and direct requests to it eg https://foo.com/bugzilla work correctly. Any ideas? Ty

I need to accept POST request, but I don't want to send the body content to example.com. I would like to send a GET request, but a POST request with Content-Length: 0 would be fine, too. Is it possible, to configure Apache 2 not to promote the request body?

    I am having some trouble setting up Dynamic DNS with my Fritz!Box 7360. I have set up the Dynamic DNS page with (this is translated from German, so might be worded a bit differently): [x] Use dynamic DNS Dynamic DNS Provider: User defined Update-URL: https://freedns.afraid.org/dynamic/update.php?MY-DIRECT-URL-KEY Domain Name: mydomain.crabdance.com User Name: myusername Password: mypassword Now on the FritzBox status page, it says: Dynamic DNS: activated, mydomain.crabdance.com, Status: Account temprarily deactivated When I check back on http://freedns.afraid.org, my IP address never changes. Is there any way to fix this? Note my router is on an IPv6 network (m-net), with IPv4 only through DS-Lite. I'm not sure whether this affects anything. Update: Following the guide here (putting myusername instead of MY-DIRECT-URL-KEY) hasn't given any succes. However, the status field has changed slightly: Dynamic DNS: activated, mydomain.crabdance.com, Status: unknown

    Hello I thought I had solved this nightmare by re-entering the values in my SSP properties set up, however accessing the Search Settings page error has reared it ugly head again. Things like $mydomain appear to be added at runtime by the script. This seems to work (emails come from [email protected]) but I am weary of using values for parameters I don't understand.

I want to move this site over to my ubuntu nginx server. What options do I have? Suggestions? I want to keep the URL structure exactly how it is now, how can I do this? Would this be any easier using apache?

(It's eventually removed from the URL, I'm a no-WWW fan.) There's nothing on domain2.co.uk at all except for an .htaccess with some mod_rewrite rules. However, I want to be able to allow users to be redirected to the correct article URI even if they specify the "wrong" URL (i.e., a 301 redirect preserving the stuff after the first forward slash).     I'm trying to record video from a firefox run by xvfb-run but it always output nothing in the video file except black screen. Here's what I did: start a firefox, open google.com: $ xvfb-run firefox https://google.com Then it will use the default display server number 99. I can see the display information by command xdpyinfo -display :99. A screenshot works very well by command: $ xwd -root -silent -display :99.0 | xwdtopnm |pnmtojpeg > screen.jpg Start using ffmpeg to record a video: $ ffmpeg -f x11grab -i :99.0 out.mpg When I play the video file out.mpg, there's black screen all the time. Is there any parameter I missed? Updates I made progress that the video works instead of black screen only by this command: $ ffmpeg -y -r 30 -g 300 -f x11grab -s 1024x768 -i :99 -vcodec qtrle out.mov Notice it requires the screen resolution matches by specify more options to xvfb-run: $ xvfb-run -s "-screen 0 1224x768x16" -a firefox http://google.com But I still want to get more feedbacks and answers here.

    Hello, i have a dedicated with a primary ip and domain name. I added nameserver settings for this domain, and mx records. n1.mydomain.com ns2.mydomain.com etc. Now i want to add more domain with websites to my server. Now what is the best way to do this. Should i add the domain, and use the mydomain.com nameserver settings. Shoudl i add the domain and create his own nameserver. I should add the websites have to be optimized for best performance, fastest load time. Thank you for your time

    The title of the question might be misleading because I'm not an expert and I'm trying to learn the proper terminology. That being said, I'm wondering if it's possible to setup a wildcard DNS record for any number of dot separation in domain names and have them all point to the network root. This is for WordPress multisite, users will have the option of choosing a mapped domain name, I want to configure my DNS so that both mysite.co.uk.network.com and mysite.com.network.com are valid (I realize this is a but ugly, but WordPress multisite requires that each site have a unique site_url and I'd prefer to preserve the period-delimited appearance if it's possible).

    I have a Debian Squeeze server running nginx + php-fpm + fastcgi. I have a typo3 installation on this server which runs well. No I installed OTRS and I get an error that I do not understand: 2012/06/25 15:35:38 [error] 16510#0: *34 FastCGI sent in stderr: "Access to the script '/opt/otrs/bin/fcgi-bin/index.pl' has been denied (see security.limit_extensions)" while reading response header from upstream, client: ..., server: support.....com, request: "GET /otrs/index.pl HTTP/1.1", upstream: "fastcgi://127.0.0.1:9000", host: "support.....com", referrer: "http://support.....com/" Why do I get this error? The otrs directory is writable for the webserver, so this is not the problem. Any ideas?

    Hello I thought I had solved this nightmare by re-entering the values in my SSP properties set up, however accessing the Search Settings page error has reared it ugly head again. Please guys how do I get around this access denied issue. Thanks

  • Can a usb cable carry 12v?

    Here's what i'm wanting to do. I have a Acer Iconia A500 tablet. I want to plug it in, in the car, but it has a barrel plug and I don't want to buy an inverter. The car adapters are expensive for what they do. I already have a 2.1 amp usb car charger meant for the iPad: http://www.amazon.com/Kensington-K33497US-PowerBolt-Charger-Compatible/dp/tech-data/B003PU01M4/ref=de_a_smtd And i want to use this usb cable from the 2.1 amp port to plug into the A500: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00304DZ7I/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&m=A1HPBDJJIXKXS7 Here are the specs on the original wall charger if that helps: http://www.phihong.com/assets/pdf/PSA18R.pdf The usb cable says it's 5v, but the original charger says it outputs 12v. But since it's just a cable... wasn't sure if that really made a whole lot of difference since it's only 1.5 amps from the wall charger. Is it possible to use that usb cable through the powerbolt car charger, to charge the A500?

    Environments: Ubuntu / Sendmail / Google Apps Emailing: I send and receive all of my emails through google apps besides emails that are sent directly from my website. My Web Domain: example.com (for the purpose of the question only) Problem: When my website sends an email, using sendmail, to any local address ([email protected]) I get an unknown user error. Emails sent to other domains seem to work just fine. Question: I believe this is because I don't have these users defined on my ubuntu server, this is besides the point I need to configure sendmail such that it doesn't pick out local emails sent to ([email protected]) and instead finds their name server which points to google apps and sends it there instead. This is my first try at serverfault, I normally use stackoverflow so let me know if I'm messing up! Thank you!

  • Creating an OS X Mountain Lion 10.8 OpenDIrectory database with a specific domain in mind

    Mountain Lion Server has been one of the most infuriating things ever recently. Above and beyond tons of crashing I've been completely unable to do the following in a way that makes sense to both me and Apple. Name your server srv01.myoffice.domain.com Create an OpenDirectory database as a Master from scratch as dc=domain,dc=com I can rename my server temporarily (taking down vital services in the process due to the automagicliciousness) and create a new profile, however when I switch back to the original domain name the default search base for server related authentication magic is now dc=srv01,dc=myoffice,dc=domain,dc=com. I've tried everything I can think of including using slapconfig backupdb/restoredb and slaving the server off of another then promoting it. This seems rather silly and Apple shows no response to many requests to resolve this. Does anybody out there have the magic to have OpenDirectory work as it should.. being able to give it any domain you want and then having all vital services operate correctly.

  • PPTP VPN on OS X and iOS failed to connect Facebook and Youtube

    Thnaks for reading. I setup a VPN server on my Buffalo WHR-HP-G300N router at Macau, and use it for access website over China Firewall when i travel in China. On Android and Windows, everything work fine, however on my Macbook Air and iPad, it is not working. I can access blocked site like badoo.com but not facebook and youtube. If i ping it at terminal, it said "ping: cannot resolve facebook.com: Unknown host". After i read this http://cp.hidemynet.com/knowledgebase.php?action=displayarticle&id=26, i find i can restart my router and reboot my Macbook, and connect to VPN before any request to any blocked site so that i can successfully connect to facebook and youtube. However it works sometime but not always. It is really annoying because i need to work on VPN and my Mac, would anyone can help me to solve it? Rather than restarting my router and my Mac every time. Please HELP!!! regards

I already tried several other options but don't want to continue with try&error on this. Thank you very much.
