  • Statically checking a Java app for link errors

    I have a scenario where I have code written against version 1 of a library but I want to ship version 2 of the library instead. The code has shipped and is therefore not changeable. I'm concerned that it might try to access classes or members of the library that existed in v1 but have been removed in v2. I figured it would be possible to write a tool to do a simple check to see if the code will link against the newer version of the library. I appreciate that the code may still be very broken even if the code links. I am thinking about this from the other side - if the code won't link then I can be sure there is a problem. As far as I can see, I need to run through the bytecode checking for references, method calls and field accesses to library classes then use reflection to check whether the class/member exists. I have three-fold question: (1) Does such a tool exist already? (2) I have a niggling feeling it is much more complicated that I imagine and that I have missed something major - is that the case? (3) Do you know of a handy library that would allow me to inspect the bytecode such that I can find the method calls, references etc.? Thanks!

    Hi, I have a list of numbers for input, e.g. 671.00 1,636.00 436.00 9,224.00 and I want to generate all possible sums with a way to id it for output, e.g.: 671.00 + 1,636.00 = 2,307.00 671.00 + 436.00 = 1,107.00 671.00 + 9,224.00 = 9,224.00 671.00 + 1,636.00 + 436.00 = 2,743.00 ... and I would like to do it in Python My current constrains are: a) I'm just learning python now (that's part of the idea) b) I will have to use Python 2.5.2 (no intertools) I think I have found a piece of code that may help: def all_perms(str): if len(str) <=1: yield str else: for perm in all_perms(str[1:]): for i in range(len(perm)+1): #nb str[0:1] works in both string and list contexts yield perm[:i] + str[0:1] + perm[i:] ( from these guys ) But I'm not sure how to use it in my propose. I've run some tests to see what it does: def main(): obj = fancy_obj(arg='C:\\') needle = (50, obj) haystack = [(50, fancy_obj(arg='C:\\')), (1, obj,), needle] print (1, fancy_obj(arg='C:\\'),) in haystack print needle in haystack if __name__ == '__main__': main() Which yields: False True This tells me that Python is probably checking the object references, which makes sense. Is there something more definitive I can look at?

  • jQuery adding a function to a link question

    Hello all, I have a dynamically created table which in the last <td> there is a hidden <div> which is shown when the user hovers over a link in the <td>. That all works fine but there are several links in the div that I want to fire a function based on the id of the link concat'd with an string captured from a <td> from the parent row. I can capture the the variables I need from the id and <td> but something is wrong with the click function I have created. I monitored the function in FireBug and the function appears to be firing on all of the links instead of the one that is clicked. After sharing the Link project then we get the item in Current project as: $/CurrentProject/File1 $/CurrentProject/File2 $/CurrentProject/F1 $/CurrentProject/F2 Here File1 and File2 are link files. I need to get its parent (Actual) location i.e. $/Link/file1 and $/Link/File2 Is there any way to find Link files location using SourceSafeTypeLib?

    My doubt is that if the len(list) calculates the length of the list everytime it is called or it returns the value of the builtin counter.I have a context where i need to check the length of list everytime in a loop, likelistData = [] for value in ioread(): if len(listData)=25: processlistdata() clearlistdata() listData.append(value) Should I check len(listData) every iteration, or can I have a counter for the length of the list.

  • Make joomla blog link to inner pages(or blog roll post actual)

    So i was told to create a blog for client in Joomla and, i have minimal knowledge of Joomla inner workings. I made the blog as seen here http://www.assurancepower.com/about-us/blog.html But the problem is that, the headers/titles for each story in that blog roll cant be clicked. Im wondering is there a way i can make this happen? Essentially this page is a collection of the stories and i want to be able to click on a particular one (any of them) and be taken to its inner page/full version of the story. Not exactly sure what im supposed to do/search for. Im not sure if joomla has a wordpress like functions.php or for example, is there somewhere i can instert a....maybe something like how wordpress does it with permalinks like so: <?php permalink(); ?> //title link here to the actual story. or something like <?php bloginfo('url');?>// this relative link for WP. Etc, All i want is to be able to have these titles in this story be active links to their full counterpart. Not sure what to look for/how to go about fixing this. Thanks in advanced.

    Ok...here's a softball question... I just need to be able to insert a key/value pair into an object at a specific position. I'm currently working with a Hashtable which, of course, doesn't allow for this functionality. What would be the best approach? UPDATE: Also, I do need the ability to lookup by the key.     Sorry I could not find a similar answer on SO. I have the following markup (generated by jquery ui autocomplete but this is not the issue here) <ul style="z-index: 1; display: block; border: thin solid red; width: 200px;"> <li> <a> <div style="font-size: 0.85em;"> <span style="float: right; padding-left: 10px; color: gray;"> United Kingdom </span> <span style="">text text text text text</span> </div> </a> </li> </ul> As you can see in this fiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/fVr8P/2/ the text wraps because the width is limited and the country span is "floating". What I would like would be for the width to enlarge to accommodate the full length, but if I put width: auto; it will expand to 100%. Background The ul is of course coming from jquery ui autocomplete. I am styling the results a bit using the autocomplete.html extension. Problem is that everything is working ok in firefox an chrome because the autocomplete is set to the correct width on creation. in IE this does not happen (width is too small) so the text wraps. I am hping to come to a simple css only solution, without fiddling around in jQuery.

    I am working on a html project, which will eventually package by Phonegap. So I am trying to encode the data from html form to JSON format, then use ajax send to a php file resides on server, and receive the response to do something else. Now I use <a href='login.html'> in my index.html to open the login page. Until I refresh the login page and enter data again, it can give an error message or go to the loginsuccess page. However, when I use <script> function loadLogin(){ location.href='login.html'; } </script> to open the login page, everything works well. So what cause this? How can I modify this piece of code to make it better?

    Hi, I would like to know if there is an implementation of the foldLeft function (and foldRight?) in R. The language is supposed to be "rather" functional oriented and hence I think there should be something like this, but I could not find it in the documentation. To me, foldLeft function applies on a list and has the following signature: foldLeft[B](z : B)(f : (B, A) => B) : B It is supposed to return the following result: f(... (f(f(z, a0), a1) ...), an) if the list is [a0, a1, ..., an]. (I use the definition of the Scala List API) Does anybody know if such a function exists in R?

It returns a list of MyTypes which appear to be ordered by myType.Id ascending by default. public List<MyType> GetMyTypes(List<int> ids) { return (from myType in db.MyTypes where ids.Contains(myType.Id) select new MyType { MyValue = myType.MyValue }).ToList(); } So if ids contains 302 300 301 the List returned contains items in ascending order. What do I need to do to return List<MyType> in the order of ids? Thanks edit: I've tried orderby ids.IndexOf(myType.Id) but it throws the exception Method 'Int32 IndexOf(Int32)' has no supported translation to SQL.

My code looks like this: list1 = [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6] list2 = [] for item in list1: list2.append(item) list1.remove(item) But if I run it my output looks like this: >>> list1 [2, 4, 6] >>> list2 [1, 3, 5] My question is threefold, I guess: Why is this happening, how do I make it work, and am I overlooking an incredibly simple solution like a 'move' statement or something?
