• What is your Wordpress 2.9 theme development workflow after getting PSD from client?

- by metal-gear-solid
What are useful and free resources to make Wordpress 2.9 themes? Is Dreamweaver helpful to make themes ? What are time saving tips? I'm using Dreamweaver CS3 on Windows. and my main browser is FF 3.6. I know some extensions of dreamweaver but those are not updated with wordpress versions. Should we edit theme files directly on live server or Local XAMPP option is better? Should i create XHTML CSS version of PSD then XHTML CSS to wordpress? After making XHTML CSS Version of PSD how to incorporate Wordpress 2.9 Tags in it? Has anyone tried this tool http://www.themedreamer.com/ is this really helpful?

• What is usefulness of W3C's Semantic Data Extractor in semantically correct XHTML CSS Development?

- by metal-gear-solid
What is the usefulness of W3C's Semantic Data Extractor? http://www.w3.org/2003/12/semantic-extractor.html This tool, geared by an XSLT stylesheet, tries to extract some information from a HTML semantic rich document. It only uses information available through a good usage of the semantics defined in HTML. The aim is to show that providing a semantically rich HTML gives much more value to your code: using a semantically rich HTML code allows a better use of CSS, makes your HTML intelligible to a wider range of user agents (especially search engines bots). As an aside, it can give clues to user agents developers on some hooks that could be interesting to add in their product. After checking validation for CSS and HTML. Should i go for Semantic Data Extractor tool. What it does. and how it can improved our coding.? Is anyone using it? And i check some site randomly with but with most of sites it gives error Using org.apache.xerces.parsers.SAXParser Exception net.sf.saxon.trans.XPathException: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: The element type "input" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "``". org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: The element type "input" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "``".

• Is it ok to use in place of blindly ?

- by metal-gear-solid
Note: I know is presentational and <span style="font-weight:bold> is better way and and for emphasis but my question is not regarding this. Should we convert every to blindly ? many people do this they think is not good as per web standards so they convert every to upon site redesign, content re-population, new site design and people suggest this to others also. Dreamweaver has also given option to convert all and to and on code paste in design view and when we use B and I Which people use blindly. And Dreamweaver(if above option is checked) and many online WYSIWYG editor give output in and while button shows B and I. In my opinion it's creating misconception about and When we get content from client we don't know where client want to give emphasize and where he just want to use text bold for presentation purpose. What we should do in this condition? no one has time client and we both to give time to think for each bold text, it should be in or in , or in What are pros and cons to convert every and into and blindly if we are saying our site is accessible? Update: remember and are not deprecated there are in HTML 5 specification
