  • Creating custom taskbar icon in Flex application

    I'm trying to create custom icons for my taskbar/desktop icons in my Flex WindowedApplication. So far, I've edited my -app.xml file to include the following: icons/t_16.png icons/t_32.png icons/t_48.png icons/t_128.png When the application is run, however, the default flex/air icon is still showing. I have my systemChrome set to standard, and transparent to false, not that they have any relevance to this. Any ideas?

    As far as I know I can access the web.xml <context-param>s by making my class implement ServletContextListener and use the ServletContext.getInitParam(String) to read them, but it´s cumbersome as only one instance of the class will receive the contextInitialized(ServletContextEvent sce) call, so I need to make the ServletContext an static member of the class. What other ways exist of setting conf params at deployment time and what are the recommended ones?

  • How to download file into string with progress callback?

    I would like to use the WebClient (or there is another better option?) but there is a problem. I understand that opening up the stream takes some time and this can not be avoided. However, reading it takes a strangely much more amount of time compared to read it entirely immediately. Is there a best way to do this? I mean two ways, to string and to file. Progress is my own delegate and it's working good. FIFTH UPDATE: Finally, I managed to do it. In the meantime I checked out some solutions what made me realize that the problem lies elsewhere. I've tested custom WebResponse and WebRequest objects, library libCURL.NET and even Sockets. The difference in time was gzip compression. Compressed stream lenght was simply half the normal stream lenght and thus download time was less than 3 seconds with the browser.     Hi, I have a pom.xml that uses cxf-codegen-plugin to generate a couple of WS clients. Inside the configuration of cxf-codegen-plugin, there are the WSDL locations. I would like to externalize those strings to a env.properties file. I used org.codehaus.mojo's properties-maven-plugin to look inside src/main/resources/conf/app/env.properties.     i have setup a profanity filter with bad words in a XML file and have the following function to run on my page to replace the words: BadWordFilter.Instance.GetCleanString(TextBox1.Text); i'm about to go through my entire site now wrapping that function around every little text variable one by one and it's going to be a huge pain in the butt i'm hoping there's a way that i could just set my masterpage to automatically run all text through this thing on any page_load, so that the effect would be site-wide instantly. is this possible? much appreciated for any help

    XML based serializers have variable size output for a given class. I can't use them to append data to my Memcached list, since I won't be able to retrieve that information later. But if I knew my serializer produced a fixed size output (N bytes), I could retrieve my data by splitting my list in N bytes chunks and then deserializing those chunks individually. I have created my own serializer for my class, but what other serializers I could use?

    I am writing an application that needs simple data found (mostly) on the periodic table of elements, such as atomic mass, atomic number, state, etc. However, I would prefer not to manually enter this data. I managed to find the NIST website (http://www.nist.gov/pml/data/edi.cfm) with all of the data I need, but not in a downloadable format. Where can I find this data? Preferably, it would be in an XML/YAML/JSON/other documented format, however, any format would be helpful.
