• How to undo an hg merge? (I think.)

  I'm new to collaborating with Mercurial. My situation: Another programmer changed rev 1 of a file to replace 4-space indents with 2-space indent. (I.e. changed every line.) Call that rev 2, pushed to the remote repo. I've committed substantive changes rev 1 with various code changes in my local workspace. Call that rev 3. I've hg pulled and hg mergeed without a clear idea of what was going on. The conflicts are myriad and not really substantive. So I really wish I'd changed my local repo to 2-space indents before merging; then the merge will be trivial (i'm supposing). But I can't seem to back up. I think I need to hg update -r 3 but it says abort: outstanding uncommitted merges. How can I undo the merge, changes spacing in my local repo, and remerge?

  Hi, So we have a java class with two ArrayLists of generics. It looks like public class Blah { public ArrayList<ConcreteClass> a; public ArrayList<BaseClass> b; } by using [ArrayElementType('ConcreteClass')] in the actionscript class, we are able to get all the "a"s converted fine. However with "b", since the actual class coming across the line is a heterogeneous mix of classes like BaseClassImplementation1, BaseClassImplementation2 etc, it gets typed as an object. Is there a way to convert it to the specific concrete class assuming that a strongly typed AS version of the java class exists on the client side thanks for your help! Regis

  I am trying to create a generic search form to use in an EF app. I want to be ably to specify the entity to query at runtime below is a simplified version of the code. cx is the contect object, valuelists is the entity in question. 1: Dim q As String = "select c from intactentities.valuelists as c" 2: Dim x = cx.CreateQuery(Of ValueLists)(q) 3: TextBox1.Text = x.Count This works but I need to remove the hardcoded reference to valuelists in line 3. I expect I am overlooking something simple can anyone suggest a simple solution? Thanks Tony

My problem is i can't figure out what is the correct way i should be doing this. Any suggestions? thanks

• How do I copy the layout from a header of a JTabbedPane onto a JPanel?

  I have created a "CollapsingPanel"class/sort of a JTabbedPane (code skeleton can be found at http://www.coderanch.com/t/341737/Swing-AWT-SWT-JFace/java/Expand-Collapse-Panels). It is in other words a lot of headers which you click on to show a hidden Panel. At the moment these header-panels are a rectangular box with a LineBorder around them. That is ugly! I'm wondering if there is a way to copy the layout that the JTabbedPane uses for its headers/titles (which is inhierted from Look&Feel I assume) and use it on my JPanel-based headers? So that my headers get a smooth look which is in line with the rest of the program (based on Look&Feel!) instead of looking like alien flat blocks. • Hitting a ADO.NET Data Services from WPF client, forms authentication

  Hey all! There are a number of questiosn on StackOverflow that ALMOST hit this topic head on, but they are either for other technologies, reference obsolets information or don;t supply an answer that I can suss out. So pardon the almost duplication :) I have a working ADO.NET Data Service, and a WPF client that hits it. Now that they are working fine I want to add authentication / security to the system. My understanding of the steps so far is... Turn on forms authentication and configure it on the server (I have an existing asp.net membership service DB for other aspects of this app, so that isnt a problem) so that it is required for the service URL In WCF apply for and recieve a forms authentication "ticket" as part of a login routine Add that "ticket" to the headers of the ADO.NET service calls in WPF Profit! All well and good - but does anyone have a line on a soup to nuts code sample, using the modern releases of these technologies? Thanks!

• umbraco tiny MCE 3 internet explorer insert link error

  Hi, I have an instalation of Umbraco 4.0.2.1. In internet explorer (6 / 7) i get an error when trying to insert a link using the tiny MCE rich text editor. basicaly what happens is i can choose the node in the site i want to link to but when i click insert it reloads but the tiny MCE popup does not dissapear and i get the following page error. Line: 368 Char: 9 Error: 'the Form._SCROLLPOSITIONX.value' is null or not an object code: 0 URL: "mydev server"/umbraco/plugins/tinymce3/insertLink.aspx I dont get this problem in Firefox and i have other instalations of umbraco 4.0.2.1 in which this error does not occur. I have tried using WinMerge to comparing the code of the two instalations and they seem identical in all the places i can think would have an effect on tinyMCE ("bin", "umbraco_client\tinymce3", "umbraco\plugins\tinymce3") I am pulling my hair out over this and any help would be very much appreciated.

  Hi, I have created a rather larger html form and I would like the data to send to my email address. I am using the POST method and thought my PHP was up to snuff. However, I now get the following error upon submission: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '}' in C:\www\mo\marinecforum\send_form_application.php on line 90. I haven't been able to find anything searching the web so I was hoping someone in the community here might be able to help me. I found this article on a Google search. • Is there a way to mark up code to tell ReSharper not to format it?

  I quite often use the ReSharper "Clean Up Code" command to format my code to our coding style before checking it into source control. This works well in general, but some bits of code are better formatted manually (eg. because of the indenting rules in ReSharper, things like chained linq methods or multi-line ternary operators have a strange indent that pushes them way to the right). Is there any way to mark up parts of a file to tell ReSharper not to format that area? I'm hoping for some kind of markup similar to how ReSharper suppresses other warnings/features. If not, is there some way of changing a combination of settings to get ReSharper to format the indenting correctly? EDIT: I have found this post from the ReSharper forums that says that generated code sections (as defined in the ReSharper options page) are ignored in code cleanup. Having tried it though, it doesn't seem to get ignored.

  I've hit a snag. I am trying to use WatiN to upload a file. I can load the upload box, but it quickly disappears. The last line of my code at the moment is: ie.FileUpload(Find.ById("profile_file")).Click(); It loads the dialog to select a picture but disappears. Is it possible to set the path of the box automatically example, load "C:/Desktop/image.jpg"? Also, is it possible to wait for the upload to complete before continuing? Help is much appreciated.   This might be a straightforward question, even though I haven't found an easy solution to it: I've implemented my custom UITypeEditor with the sole purpose of adding a PaintValue to bools. For the sake of the discussion, let's assume that PaintValue will either paint a checked or unchecked radiobutton. Question 1: Now, here's the problem: It seems like PaintValue automatically inserts a 20x13px rectangle after all paint code has completed. Naturally, a radiobutton inside a black rectangle is ugly. Can I easily instruct or override this rectagle not to be painted? Question 2: In this respect, is it possible to paint on top of the propertygrid's native look - meaning could I paint something in order to obscure (part of) the black line separating two grid cells vertically? The purpose of doing this would be to indicate that two values were linked, like constrained width/height to an aspect ratio.

• Silently import a Certificate into a specific Certificate Store.

  Hi. I am attempting to import a Certificate into the Current User - Personal store using the command line: "importpfx -f [certificate name.p12] -p [password] -t USER -s Personal". It works, but for reasons I don't understand there are now two Personal stores under the Current User, and the imported certificate is in the new Personal store. When I try to connect to the website of [a well-known money transfer service], it fails. However, if I manually import the certificate using MMC into the original Personal store, it works. My question is: How can I force IMPORTPFX to import the certificate into the original Personal store, and how can I delete the new Personal store? Context: I need to do a silent import of certificates on 3000+ remote point-of-sale Windows XP devices, so it needs to be a silent install via PSEXEC (SysInternals). Thank you. Pieter.

The code works fine but I know a release is required somewhere. If I add the last line as a release or autorelease, the app will crash once the user presses done on the movieplayer.   Hello I am having a hard time making this UI element look the way I want (see screenshot). Notice the image on the right--how the line width and darkness looks inconsistent compared to the image on the left (which happens to be a screen grab from safari) where the border width is more consistent. How does apple make their lines so perfect? I'm using a CALayer and the Core Graphics API to draw the image on the right. Is it possible to draw such perfect lines with the standard apis?

• How should I use this SetSPN command when installing SharePoint

  In the SharePoint install document I have it says, If you use a domain user account for the SQL Server service account, you must make sure that a valid service principal name (SPN) for that account and instance of SQL Server on their database server exists in their environment. This is the case regardless of whether you use NTLM or Kerberos authentication for Office SharePoint Server 2007. You must configure the SPN for that account in the domain using the Setspn.exe command-line tool. Setspn.exe is installed by default on computers running Windows Server 2008. Run the following command on a computer that is joined to the same domain as the user/service account. setspn -a <http/<farmclusterdnsname> <serviceaccountname> What should the parameters be in this case? I guess the serviceaccountname would be 'domain\username' not sure what the first parameter should be though. This is the technet link for SetSPN.

• jQuery .post gets null data

  Hey everyone. This is my first post here, so I hope I'm doing it appropriately. I have several jQuery $.post calls that work just fine. They send data to a PHP script that modifies a database and returns some data. No problem. But this one doesn't work. The returned data is just NULL. $.post("act_addTaskLog.php", {description: $("#logFormDescription").val(), complete: $("#logFormComplete").is(':checked'), taskId: $("#logFormTaskId").val(), user: <?php echo $_SESSION['user']; ?>}, function(data) { alert("data: " + data); } ); I've tried everything I can think of, to no avail. I've even tried just one line in my PHP script: die("true"); Firebug shows that the script is being executed, but it's not completing. The alert message displays just with the label "data:" in it, no actual data. Thanks in advance for your help!

If I want to run it inside Eclipse (Run as script), then the PHP include path of my php.ini is replaced by Eclipse, with all the libraries I've added to the project. I've configured my PHP executable in Eclipse. I've set the correct PHP executable file, and I selected my php.ini file too (the right one, I've checked). But it is ignored... Help please !

  I use the maven-properties-plugin during the initialization phase to read in a bunch of properties from a properties file. I also have the jetty plugin configured to set a couple of the project properties - including those read in above - as system properties to jetty. If I run the result as mvn initialize jetty:run-war it works. If I just say mvn jetty:run-war it fails. How can I force a goal specified on the command line to run in a lifecycle that includes the initialization phase?
