  • In XHR, is it possible to distinguish network errors from cross-origin errors?

    http://www.w3.org/TR/access-control/ Reading the CORS spec linked above, it seems to be the case that it's impossible to reliably distinguish between a generic "network error" and a cross-origin access denied error. From the spec: If there is a network error Apply the network error steps. Perform a resource sharing check. If it returns fail, apply the network error steps. http://www.w3.org/TR/access-control/#simple-cross-origin-request0 In my testing, I couldn't locate any features of Firefox's implementation that seem to indicate that the resource sharing check definitely failed. It just switches readyState to 4 and sets status to 0. Ultimately I'd like the ability to pass a success callback, a general fail callback, and an optional cross-origin fail callback, to my function. Thanks for any help or insight.

  • Empty Post with JQuery Ajax Post

    Hi, I am getting a some unusual problem with JQuery ajax. I am using IIS to host my web application and I have http handler for which I have enabled only POST verb on it. Using JQuery ajax, I am posting data to this http handler, this is working fine in our development and testing environment and also most of the time on production environment as well. But sometimes we are getting empty post data on to the server. When we look into the csBytes on IISLog we found that it was very less compare to other success post requests. We are using JSON.js to convert the javascript object back to raw json string and latest jquery.1-3.js for posting to server. Anbody know why this is happening?

  • varnish invalidate url REGEX from backend

    Say I have some highly-visited front-page, which displays number of some items by categories. When some item is added / deleted I need to invalidate this front-page/url and some 2 others. What is the best practice how to invalidate those urls from backend in Varnish (4.x)? From what I captured, I can: implement my HTTP PURGE handler in VCL configuration file, that "bans" urls matching received regex from backend to Varnish, send 3x HTTP PURGE requests for those 3 urls. But is this approach safe for this automatic usage? Basicly I need to invalidate some views everytime some related entity is inserted/updated/deleted. Can it lead to ban list cumulation and increasing CPU consumption? Is there any other approach? Thanks.

    Hi, I am using facebook's sharer.php to post to facebook from my application. My application is hosted at //[my_domain]/[some_param]/index I am setting the title, description and the image url to be displayed on facebook in the meta tags of the page found at the above mentioned url. when i share the link facebook generates the following message to share: [some_img] [some_title] http://[my_domain]/[some_param]/index [some_message] What i need to do is either hide or change this url "http://[my_domain]/[some_param]/index" that is shown by default, since i do not want the users to see this. Instead i am passing the desired url that i want the users to see in So is there some way of doing this?

I'm at the part of creating a sprite, assigning it an image and then rendering.     I need to get the current absolute url of my site from inside an aspx page (no codebehind). I tried $SPUrl, but it get's converted into a relative url. <asp:Literal runat="server" text="<% $SPUrl:~Site/mypage.aspx %>" /> results in "/mypage.aspx". It's important that I get the full absolute url starting with "http://". <asp:Literal runat="server" text="<% $SPUrl:~SiteCollection/mypage.aspx %>" /> does the same. The goal is to get this url: "http://myspweb.com/mypage.aspx" as result.

    I have a working installation of wordpress located in /var/www/html/wordpress It is accessible in my local network at [local-machine-ip]/wordpress/ There is also a test page located in /var/www/html/test.html It is also accessible in my local network at [local-machine-ip] I would like the wordpress website to be accessible from the outside world. I know that my ISP blocks incoming requests on port 80, so I set my router to redirect requests from port 8080 to 80.     i'm playing with EC2 and i've been able to create my instance that has a django appliacation on port 80, and a tomcat on 8080. now, with elastic IP i can manage to redirect my domain to django application. now i would like to map subdomains to each tomact applications. for example django app (ec2...:80) --> mydomain.com tomcat (ec2...:8080) --> tomcat.mydomain.com webbapp1 (ec2...:8080/webapp1/) --> webapp1.mydomain.com is this possible with the free account? ciao

  • Mod_rewrite not working properly

    I have this in my .htaccess file... RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ^/invite$ /invite.html It's meant to let a user access this url: http://mysite.com/invite and display the invite.html page. I don't want to redirect the user, but just show them the invite.html page from a better looking URL. When I browse to http://mysite.com/invite though, I get a 404 not found error. Is there anything I'm doing wrong? I've tried looking at tutorials for using mod_rewrite but I seem to be doing what they're telling me too... Thanks!

  • Cross domain secure cookie usage?

    I have a website that came with a SSL site for HTTPS but its on a different server. Example being my website: http://example.com my SSL site: http://myhostingcompany.com/~myuseraccount/ So I can do transactions over HTTPS and we have user accounts and everything but it is located on a different domain. The cookie domain is set for that one. Is there a way I can check on my actual site to see if a cookie is set for the other one? And possibly grab its data and auth a user? I think this violates a major principle of security and can't be done for good reasons, but am i wrong? is this possible?

  • Debugging PHP in Aptana 2.0

    I'm a real newbie when it comes to PHP debugging so forgive my stupidity. I have a simple html form that submits to a PHP script and I want to debug that script and see what's being sent from the form. My Aptana has two two PHP interpreters installed; Zend Debugger on port 10001 and XDebug on 9000 I have the Firefox Aptana Addon installed I have my HTML page on the following url, running locally; http://3i/latest.html In the IDE I open the PHP script and add some breakpoints, I then open the latest.html and I click on the debug button. It launches the HTML page in a local webserver running at; http://127.0.0.1:8000/3i/latest.html I then fill out the form and submit at which point the debugger tells me the JS Debugger has terminated but it doesn't stop at my break points. I've had a good read around and I can't find anything which helps me, which makes me think it's something pretty easy and I'm being a bit dumb.

    I have created a php webpage. I now want to create a launcher application in android phone, it simply opens the browser with the url "http://<mywebsite>/m". I use uri intent to launch the browser in onCreate function. public void onCreate(...) { .... startActivity(new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW, new Uri(http://<mywebsite>/m))); ... } I execute this program in my G1 phone (Cyan Mod 5). However, when I click the "Home" key, and then re-enter my application through Task list, I lose focus for my last started browser, and the screen blank Any suggestion?! Should I need any code in onResume function to re-focus my web!?
