• Code Interaction with Quartz Composition

  Hi, i have a Quartz Composition with a Cube, and X/Y/Z rotation inputs are published. On Interface Builder i made a QCView and a QCPatchController with the previous Quartz Composition loaded. In QCView the Patch Controller is binded, and the rotation published ports are binded too to three NSSlider, so when i change the value of the NSSlider's then the cube rotates. All this works fine, but i want to change the rotation values of the cube from the App Delegate on XCode. I tried to change the value of the NSSliders with IBoulets pointing to them, but this change doesnt apply to the cube, like it does when i change the Sliders directly with my mouse. What should i instanciate and/or how to access and change this Input_Ports.value throught the CQPatchController? Thank you very much for reading, i really need help!

• jQuery image fade not working for unknown reason...?

  Just when I thought I was done for the night, another issue is keeping me awake. It appears that somehow I have broken the fade I was using on my thumbnails. If you go here: http://ftframes.com/milad2/ When you hover your mouse of the thumbnails, it should fade up. To give you an idea, this is a working version of the script: http://nothingcantouchme.com/stackoverflow.php#download_page As you can see, the hover works fine with the fade. And please mind the mess on this one, I just added it to demonstrate. Is there anyone that can kindly assist me in solving this issue? I would lie if I told you that I wasn't completely lost.

• JButtons re-enable themselves after being disabled

  I have an array of JButtons which form a keypad interface. After six numbers are entered I want to disable the keypad so that no further numbers can be entered by the user. I have written the code and the buttons do disable until the mouse hovers above any of them, then the buttons seem to re-enable themselves and run actionEvents added to them. The full code is available here. Possible things that I think are wrong. There is some sort of MouseListener which is ignoring when I set button.setEnabled(false); I haven't separated attributes from the buildGUI(); correctly, I only did this anyway so that the inner class could access them. Possibly something to do with the gridLayout as disabling the buttons seems to work for my services JPanel buttons.

• Text Link is Hiding my Image Link

  I have a image where text/link is overlayed on top. My problem is that sometimes the text in the foreground will hide the link in the image in the background. I assume this is because the text box forms an invisible rectangle around the text, thus creating a region that appears it should belong to the image but is actually being covered by the text. I am wondering if it is possible that when I mouse over this region, I will be linking to my image link as oppose to my text link (see illustration). http://jsfiddle.net/WHpMr/

• Resources/Teaching ideas to teach computers to kids

  A small initiative from my work place plans to teach very basic computers to not so fortunate kids. I was looking for some very basic topics/resources. These kids are very young and have not seen/worked with a computer before. The fun factor should not be lost and hence I don't want it to be rigorous, just plain, what is computer, keyboard, mouse, browser, where to look for what (google.com) and so on. Has any-one done this sort of thing before, if yes, could you point me to some resources.

• Drupal, Lightbox: cannot edit the content inside

  hi, I'm using Drupal and Lightbox module to display the content of articles in this website: donatellabernardi.ch/drupal if you click on an article the lightbox is displayed. However I have 2 problems with it: 1) I cannot use the libraries such as the tooltip library qTip from it. (If you move the mouse over the balls, you'll see the tooltips) 2) I cannot invert the title with the balls (tags), because it seems that the template of the node in the lightbox is not controlled by my theme. I tried also to change the node template (in the drupal root folder), swapping title and meta data but it didn't work. thanks

• Identifying idle state on a windows machine

  I know about the GetLastInputInfo method but that would only give me the duration since last user input - keyboard or mouse. If a user input was last received 10 minutes ago, that wouldn't mean the system has been idle for 10 minutes - scans, downloads, movies - lots of reasons. So how can we identify whether the system is truly idle or not? Does anyone know what Window's definition of "idle" is? Must be a combination of thresholds - like less than 5% cpu util, less than 3% disk util etc. - along with the user input parameter...anyone knows the exact definition?

• Why won't my control accept keyboard input?

  I've built a custom control that I'm trying to send input to. It will accept mouse input and report MouseDown, MouseMove and MouseUp correctly, but for whatever reason, it won't accept keyboard input. When I click on it, it doesn't receive focus, and any keys I press get interpreted by whatever control had the focus already. This is probably something really simple. The first place I thought to look was in the ControlStyle property, but the only thing I can see in the helpfile about keyboard input is csNoStdEvents, which disables it, and my control doesn't have that. So what do I need to do to make it so my control can receive input focus?

What we did: We have created an activex which installs through the web browser into client machine which lets the user to connect to different servers through web browser. What is in Activex In Activex we used an MSTSC.lib file and by passing the relevant parameters to it. It connects to the remote Desktop. What are the Problems facing now?   Hi. I'm testing a Swing GUI application using the UISpec4J testing framework. I'm testing validation code on a JTextField, but the framework does not support focus-change events, as it runs the application in a headless fashion. The text field has a DocumentEvent attached to it that activates the validation code. I'm trying to figure out how to dispatch the document event manually to activate the validation code. Trying to dispatch focus or mouse events manually haven't been working for me. Thanks for any help!

• Submit jQuery UI dialog on <Enter>

  I have a jQuery UI dialog box with a form. I would like to simulate a click on one of the dialog's buttons so you don't have to use the mouse or tab over to it. In other words, I want it to act like a regular GUI dialog box where simulates hitting the "OK" button. I assume this might be a simple option with the dialog, but I can't find it in the jQuery UI documentation. I could bind each form input with keyup() but didn't know if there was a simpler/cleaner way. Thanks.

• How do I find the current virtual terminal

  I am working around a problem in Ubuntu 10.04 where after resume, the mouse cursor disappears. This can be "fixed" by running chvt 1; chvt 7 in a script in /etc/pm/sleep.d, such that those commands run on thaw and resume. However, the X console is not always vt #7, so chvt 7 is wrong in those cases. What I would like to do is find out the current vt in the fix-up script and make sure I change back to that vt. How can I find the current vt? (tty(1) just reports "not a tty")

I'm mainly doing this to learn more about programming and get myself to think outside of work related materials.   I want to write games that run on all the major platforms. I also want people to be able to play them by downloading a file and double clicking it. That means a single .exe/.app file. I'm happy to use OpenGL directly for graphics. What I don't know how to do is show a window, handle mouse/keyboard input and play sounds in a cross-platform manner. I don't really mind what the underlying language is, as long as it isn't C++ or Java. C#, Ruby or Python would be preferable, in that order :) Please, SO, save me from having to write Flash games!

• Strange problem with ie6 messing up layout, and fixing byitself some time after loading

  We have a big ie6 layout problem with a newly launched website: in the header in our homepage, we have a coda-slider, and apparently its messing upt the wole layout of the front page. I have been looking at float and height problems but cannot seem to solve it. Also, the most strange part is that if you wait a while after loading, the layout "fixes itself". Help! The url is the following (without the spaces, sorry) w w w . r e - c r e a r t . c o m Edit: update, it sounds crazy, but if you press control and use the mouse wheel (as if you were zooming in /out in a modern browser, although ie6 doesnt do that) the layout fixes as well.   Hi, all! I need to implement textbox with inplace button (for search or filter purposes). So, I need to get Qtoolbutton, that is flat and rendered as icon, and obtain the border when hovered by mouse or pressed. And maybe I'd add some almost transparent background on hover too. I tried to set the following stylesheet: 'border: none; hover {border: 1px} pressed {border: 1px}' , but it seems that only border set. I tried to set autoRaise() to True and False, I mean, maybe some intersection occured, but haven't succeed.

  Hey Guys, I have made one project in java. Now in this particular module, i am showing the user , so i am showing them a stock inventory. Now for doing this. As you will see in the screen shot [ i have put screenshot so you can understand well ]. To show the images , i have made one table and i have put labels in that and then i am setting the icon at the label. Now as soon as user click on the any image, then that image i put on big label. But this works perfect on mouse click but client want that , if user navigate the by keyboard arrow keys then in same should be happen. Means : User navigate by key board then it should reflect on that table [user should know that which is currently seleted ] and then as soon as the user navigate by key board arrow events and then click enter then that image should reflect on big label. • Flash Sprite looses focus on MOUSE_DOWN event

  My Sprite class keeps losing focus when I click with the mouse - specifically after the MOUSE_DOWN event (before the click is complete). I have set mouseEnabled to false on the children, no change. I added a listener for FOCUS_OUT and noticed that the FocusEvent.relatedObject property is NULL, which is confusing me - doesn't that mean there is no new focus target, the focus is just getting lost? • Question about Modal Dialog in Gtk application

  Hi, In Gtk application, there is 1 main loop which listens for events (e.g. mouse click, keyboard, etc). And when a modal dialog popup, the main loop is blocked until user clicks 'OK' in the dialog, right? (i.e. nothing will happen when user clicks on the main window). Is that correct? My question is how can firefox did its modal dialog so that it can: 1. when 1 have 2 Firefox windows 2. one of them has a modal dialog 3. other one is still interactive If both window shares the same gtk main loop, how is that possible? Please help me understanding this. Thank you.

• Open Folder within ClearCase Remote Client using Windows Explorer

  Is there a way to open the folder location of a file from within CCRC? While I know I can open/copy from directly within CCRC, it is often useful to work directly with the file from within Windows Explorer. I am looking for something like "open file location" or "open in windows explorer". The folder within CCRC does not appear to allow opening it directly as the double-mouse-click action just expands the tree listing. The path is listed/copyable within the "ClearCase Details" tab, but I am trying to take my laziness to a whole new level by being able to open the folder with a single click. • Enabling scrollbar in EditText Android
