  • BeginInvoke not invoking the target method in Release build

    I have a method, which I wish to execute on the UI message pump and thus do the following: private void SomeMethod() { BeginInvoke(new MethodInvoker(MethodToInvoke)); } private void MethodToInvoke() { // This method contains code that I wish to execute on UI message pump. } Now, the above works just fine when I create a Debug build of the project. However, when I create a Release build, the "MethodToInvoke" method does not get invoked. Does anyone have any idea why this might be? Thanks, Elan

    Cannot call action method 'System.Web.Mvc.PartialViewResult FooT' on controller 'Controller' because the action method is a generic method <% Html.RenderAction("Foo", model = Model}); %> Is there a workaround for this limitation on ASP MVC 2? I would really prefer to use a generic. The workaround that I have come up with is to change the model type to be an object. It works, but is not preferred: public PartialViewResult Foo<T>(T model) where T : class { // do stuff }

  • Ajax method call

    Hi, I am trying to call a simple method in my code behind using Jquery with Ajax. But I get a 404 not found exception everytime. Unfortunately this is a web forms solution. So I dont have all the perks of MVC :( It does get into the javascript method and gives the alert but won't go into my c# method.     I have created a custom JiBX marshaller and verified it works. It works by doing something like the following: <binding xmlns:tns="http://foobar.com/foo" direction="output"> <namespace uri="http://foobar.com/foo" default="elements"/> <mapping class="java.util.HashMap" marshaller="com.foobar.Marshaller1"/> <mapping name="context" class="com.foobar.Context"> <structure field="configuration"/> </mapping> </binding> However I need to create multiple marshallers for different HashMaps. So I tried to reference it with abstract mapping like this: <binding xmlns:tns="http://foobar.com/foo" direction="output"> <namespace uri="http://foobar.com/foo" default="elements"/> <mapping abstract="true" type-name="configuration" class="java.util.HashMap" marshaller="com.foobar.Marshaller1"/> <mapping abstract="true" type-name="overrides" class="java.util.HashMap" marshaller="com.foobar.Marshaller2"/> <mapping name="context" class="com.foobar.Context"> <structure map-as="configuration" field="configuration"/> <structure map-as="overrides" field="overrides"/> </mapping> </binding> However when doing so, when I attempt to build the binding, I receive the following: Error during code generation for file "E:\project\src\main\jibx\foo.jibx" - this may be due to an error in your binding or classpath, or to an error in the JiBX code My guess is that either I'm missing something I need to implement to enable my custom marshaller for abstract mapping, or custom marshallers do not support abstract mapping. I have found the IAbstractMarshaller interface in the JiBX API (http://jibx.sourceforge.net/api/org/jibx/runtime/IAbstractMarshaller.html), however the documentation seems unclear to me on if this is what I need to implement, as well as how it works if so. I have not been able to find an implementation of this interface to work off of as an example. My question is, how do you do abstract mapping with custom marshallers (if it's possible)? If it is done via the IAbstractMarshaller interface, how does it work and/or how should I implement it?

    I've noticed with Xcode 3.2.2 that all the custom data formatters are no longer working. Some searching around the mailing lists and google confirms others are having the same issue. A) Anyone else seen this B) Got a work around or an example custom data formatter plugin that still works in 3.2.2 that I can look to for hints on how to fix the ones I have?

    Hi, I am querying SharePoint 2010 search using FullTextSqlQuery. The query returns results as long as i run it from the webpart. However, for some reason, i need to run the same query from a custom aspx page deployed under layouts. The query returns a wcf exception. I'm trying to invoke a method with reflection that has a generic return type, like this: public class SomeClass<T> { public List<T> GetStuff(); } I get an instance of SomeClass with a call to a Repository's GetClass<T> generic method. MethodInfo lGetSomeClassMethodInfo = typeof(IRepository) .GetMethod("GetClass") .MakeGenericMethod(typeof(SomeClass<>); object lSomeClassInstance = lGetSomeClassMethodInfo.Invoke( lRepositoryInstance, null); After that, I this is where I try to invoke the GetStuff method: typeof(SomeClass<>).GetMethod("GetStuff").Invoke(lSomeClassInstance, null) I get an exception about the fact that the method has generic arguments. However, I can't use MakeGenericMethod to resolve the return type. Also, if instead of typeof(SomeClass<>) I use lSomeClassInstance.GetType() (which should have resolved types) GetMethod("GetStuff") returns null! UPDATE I have found the solution and will post the answer shortly.

The tricky part is that some of the custom links need security trimming which you don't get when you add your own links to the navigation.   • Running Send_SMS method from BroadcastReceiver

    My application is an auto-reply application for text messages. I have a BroadcastReceiver for when a message arrives, and I need it to run a public method (Send_SMS). SMS_Sender.sendSMS(phoneNumber, messageText); does not work however, and eclipse wants to change my method to static. This would not be an issue if I did not have more receivers that catch when the message is sent/delivered/etc in this class. These receivers are then errors for being contained in a static method. So my question is, how do I run this method from a broadcast receiver so I can send the auto reply whenever it is triggered with a received message? -Thank you in advance, Nate

    All, Due to a bug in a library I'm using, I need to override the dispose() method on all objects extending a certain class and make it a NO-OP. I know that if I'm making new instances of the classes directly, this is easy to do: layerManager = new LayerManagerLayer(wwd) { @Override public void dispose() {} }; The problem is that a lot of the object instances I get are not directly constructed by my client code, but instead are created via static library method calls. // Here I want to override the dispose method, but I cannot. Layer l = ShapefileLoader.makeShapefileLayer(this.getClass().getResource("polylines10.shp")); Is there a way I can inject my dispose method into that statically created object without modifying the original sourcecode?
