  • Reset VS2010 Project Templates?

    - by Jimbo Jones
I installed Blend 4 RC recently but strangely it deleted some of my VS2010 projects templates, including the most important ones being Silverlight User Control and Silverlight Application. Does anybody know how to get back these templates or tell VS2010 to reset all templates? A bit frustrating, I'm having to create projects on my laptop then copy them to my desktop manually :(

  • c# - can you make a "weak" assembly reference to a strong named assembly

    - by Tim
hi, for various reasons i would rather not use strong named (signed) assemblies in my project. however, one of the projects is referenced by a sharepoint web part which means it must be signed. is it possible to have this assembly signed but when I reference it from other projects, to do so using a non-strong reference. this would give me the advantages of having a non-signed assembly for the rest of my code but still allow it to be loaded by sharepoint Tim

  • flashplayer on infokiosk application

    - by r4w8173
I have to build a series of information kiosks and I was considering using flash technology. However, the Adobe license prohibits redistributing the flashplayer with embedded projects. Does anyone had experience with Adobe with similar projects? Is there a commercial license for the player? Thanks a lot!

  • global.asax and ASP.NET MVC solution Organization

    - by nachid
I am refering to this article from Jimmy Bogard He is suggesting two projects to organize your ASP.NET MVC solution. Basically, one project for the code and another for the rendering My concern is about global.asax file. Jimmy suggested separating global.asax from global.asax.cs and put them in two differents projects When I did this, I could not compile my solution. I got this error : Could not load type 'MyProject.Web.Global'. Can someone help and show me how to solve this? Thanks

  • Xcode 3.2.2 and localization of Settings.bundle

    - by unforgiven
I have just discovered that after upgrading to the latest Xcode 3.2.2, I am not able anymore to localize Settings.bundle. The "Make File Localizable button always appears grayed out, and the Settings.bundle files appear with "No Explicit File Encoding", instead of UTF-16. This happens not just for my old projects, it happens even for new projects. Any clue? Is the localization procedure changed? Thank you in advance.

  • Front page Featured Section

    - by Chetan
I have a website where users register their projects for a certain event. I'd like to highlight certain projects on certain days on the front page. What's the easiest way to add a "Featured Section" that accomplishes this? I know I can go through and make the post sticky but that seems tedious. Is it possible to use Views to do this or is there some other module available?

  • Which credentials should I put in for Google App Engine BulkLoader at development server?

    - by Hoang Pham
Hello everyone, I would like to ask which kind of credentials do I need to put on for importing data using the Google App Engine BulkLoader class appcfg.py upload_data --config_file=models.py --filename=listcountries.csv --kind=CMSCountry --url=http://localhost:8178/remote_api vit/ And then it asks me for credentials: Please enter login credentials for localhost Here is an extraction of the content of the models.py, I use this listcountries.csv file class CMSCountry(db.Model): sortorder = db.StringProperty() name = db.StringProperty(required=True) formalname = db.StringProperty() type = db.StringProperty() subtype = db.StringProperty() sovereignt = db.StringProperty() capital = db.StringProperty() currencycode = db.StringProperty() currencyname = db.StringProperty() telephonecode = db.StringProperty() lettercode = db.StringProperty() lettercode2 = db.StringProperty() number = db.StringProperty() countrycode = db.StringProperty() class CMSCountryLoader(bulkloader.Loader): def __init__(self): bulkloader.Loader.__init__(self, 'CMSCountry', [('sortorder', str), ('name', str), ('formalname', str), ('type', str), ('subtype', str), ('sovereignt', str), ('capital', str), ('currencycode', str), ('currencyname', str), ('telephonecode', str), ('lettercode', str), ('lettercode2', str), ('number', str), ('countrycode', str) ]) loaders = [CMSCountryLoader] Every tries to enter the email and password result in "Authentication Failed", so I could not import the data to the development server. I don't think that I have any problem with my files neither my models because I have successfully uploaded the data to the appspot.com application. So what should I put in for localhost credentials? • Using zc.buildout, how do I install a tarball from a website?

    - by Brad Wright
I'm trying to get zc.buildout to install Gunicorn from source. Using the following configuration: [gunicorn] recipe = collective.recipe.distutils url = http://github.com/benoitc/gunicorn/tarball/master results in the following error: SystemError: ('Failed', '"/usr/bin/python" setup.py -q install --install- purelib="/mnt/hgfs/Projects/intranation/parts/site-packages" --install-platlib="/mnt/hgfs/Projects/intranation/parts/site-packages"') Providing a --install-dir or --prefix doesn't help. Is there a recipe for zc.buildout that downloads a tarball and installs it via easy_install or similar?

  • JSF vs Stripes, which is best?

    - by Davoink
Which is best, or in other words, whish is easiest to use? Stripes or JSF. Although I haven't used both in anger I need to gauge what is the best option to work with for both starting new projects and converting existing Struts projects. I have a fear that JSF won't render as nicely as I want but what are others experiences? Seems Stripes is far more straight forward, would I be correct in this assumption? Cheers.

  • Build an Xcode project on a Linux machine

    - by d11wtq
Without writing a GNUmakefile by hand, do any tools exist that understand Xcode projects and can build then directly against GNUstep, thus simplifying (slightly) the work required to keep projects functional under Cocoa/Mac and GNUstep/Linux? Basically, is there an xcodebuild style app for Linux? I looked at pbtomake a few weeks ago but it seems to be a dead project.

  • Structure of NAnt build scripts and solution structure on build server

    - by llykke
We're in the process of streamlining/automating build, integration and unit testing as well as deployment. Our software is developed in Visual Studio where we have use both C# and VB.NET in our projects. A single project can be contained within multiple solutions (i.e. Utils project is used in both ProductA and ProductB solutions) For historical reasons our code repository isn't as well structured as one could have hoped for. E.g. Utils project might be located under ProductA solution (because that's were it was first used) but it was later deemed useful for productB development and merely just included into the solution of productB (but still located in a subdirectory of productA). I would like to use continous integration testing and have setup a CC.NET build server where I intend to use NAnt for creating the actual builds. Question 1: How should I structure my builds on the buildserver? Should I instruct CC.NET to retrieve all the projects for productB into a single library e.g. a file structure similar to -ProductB --Utils --BetterUtils --Data or should I opt for a filestructure similar to this -ProductA --Utils -ProductB --BetterUtils --Data and then just have the NAnt build scripts handle the references? Our references in VS doesn't match the actual location in the code repository so it's not possible today to just check-out productB solution and build it straight away (unfortunately). I hope this question makes sense? Question 2: Is it better to check out all the source code located in different projects into a single file folder (whilst retaining some kind of structure) and then build every thing at once or have multiple projects in CC.NET and then let the CC.NET server handle dependencies? Example: Should I have a seperate project in CC.NET for monitoring the automated build/test of Utils project when it's never released on it's own? Or should I just build/test it whilst building it as part of ProductB? I hope the above makes sense and that you can provide me with some arguments for using either option. We're nowhere near an ideal source code repository structure and I would prefer if I can resolve the lack of repository structure on the build server instead of having to clean up the structure of our repository. Switching away from VSS is (unfortunately) not an option. Right now our build consists of either deploying via VS clickonce or pressing F5 so just getting the build automated would be a huge step up for us. Thanks

  • Get Generated Code's File Path in Visual Studio?

    - by bluevoodoo1
When using code generation templates in visual studio, is it possible to get the current location of the .tt file when the 'custom tool' runs? Suppose my custom template lives in c:\projects\something\template.tt When it does its magic, is there a way to return the path above? <#=PathOfCurrentTTFile #> (so that PathOfCurrentTTFile == c:\projects\something\template.tt)

  • Re-designing 37signals paths to be hosted under a single domain

    - by Victor P
37signals is a web app company. Some of their applications: basecamp, to manage projects highrise, to manage contacts backpack, like a wiki they use different domains for each application (basecamphq.com, highrisehq.com, etc) in basecamp, this is the address of a particular comment for a post in a project of my company (acme) https://acme.basecamphq.com/projects/431678/posts/2964581/comments#5854236 if 37signals had chosen to host all the applications under their domain using folders (eg 37signals.com/basecamp/..., how would you design the paths?

  • Why not use Git?

    - by Tom R
A lot of people like git (in particular this guy) against other SCMs such as SVN, but many projects, even new ones, are set up using alternative SCMs. Furthermore, Google Code still does not support it (although many of their large open source projects use it). My question is: what are the reasons for not using git in any project, whether it be personal or collaborative? Maybe I've just been brainwashed by this guy, but I can't see any area in which other SCMs excel over git.

  • Ant: project dependencies in a flat project layout with ivy

    - by MH
Hello, I have two (Eclipse-) projects. Project A depends on project B, but the projects aren't nested i.e. project A is not a subproject of project B. Apache Ivy is responsible for the dependency management. When I run the compile task in Project A, is there any way to trigger the compile task (in project B) automatically (for example if the jar file of project B doesn't exist)? Thanks a million in advance.
