  • MovieClip changes Stage alignment

    I am loading a MovieClip using MovieClipLoader. When the MovieClip starts playing, it changes the alignment of my stage to LT, which incorrectly repositions all the other objects on my stage. Is there anyway for me to: Prevent the MovieClip from changing the alignment of my stage? Adding an event handler to an appropriate event, so that I can reset the stage alignment when it gets changed? I have already tried resetting the stage alignment on the onLoadInit event of MovieClipLoader and the onEnterFrame event of MovieClip, but both seem to reset the alignment too soon.

  • trouble with custom 'Text Bubble' component (examples included)

    I'm trying to use a custom Text component to show a series of comments. I got the original idea from: http://www.eonflex.com/?p=40 I've got the base case working but I am stuck with 2 problems I cant seem to figure out: Since I am drawing around the text, the actual height of each bubble is greater than that of the Text field, as a result, the last bubble is always chopped off. I have tried explicitly overriding the height getter, and adding some padding, but I cant seem to get it right. You can see an example here: http://test.lambandtunafish.com/bubbles/CommentTest.swf In my layout, I have 2 VBoxes (one nested inside the other). The first vbox shows a form where the user can enter a comment, and the second box has all the comments. In order to ensure that the scrollbars only show up on the second box, I set minHeight="0" on the nested VBox, but then for some reason, some comments' text is shifted to the right.     I have a class Grid which produces a graph paper like grid on in the drawing area. I then have 5 other classes for different shapes to draw with; Line, Polygon, Ellipse, Curve, Arc Now, these 5 classes use an instance of Grid because Grid has a resolution and a scale. For instance, Polygon is made up of multiple instances of Line, Line(length, angle) where "length" is in either in, ft, cm, or m. If the user wishes to change the scale from say 10ft per 100px resolution.. Is there an easier way than re-drawing every Line inside Polygon?

  • [Flex] Using same set of columns in AdvancedDataGrid in a TabBar

    I have a TabBar control which will show an AdvancedDataGrid with same set of columns on different tabs, i am doing this so that i can show similar data on different tab pages. Column heading will be the same on all grids, is there a way I can put all column headings in an array and set that as columns of data grid? I tried setting the columns property but it doesn't work. Also I need to set ID property for a single column in the grid to set it the treecolumn so one column must have individual id field too.

    Am I using TwitterScript to retrieve Twitter data for inside a Flash site. Due to Twitter's crossdomain policy, I need to setup a php proxy... Firstly I made a simple one <?php $url = $_GET['url']; readfile($url); ?> but I then get this error URL file-access is disabled in the server configuration which is only resolved by getting my host to turn fopen() on, which I don't want to do.     I have a Flex 3.5 application that will serve multiple purposes, and as part of the visual changes that I'd like to make to indicate which mode the application is in, I want to change its background color.   • How can I reference only a portion of a TextArea's htmlText block?

    I have a number of very poor-quality pdf documents that look like 80's photocopies, which I'm rebuilding in Flash (Flex Builder 3 MXML application), representing paragraphs of text in TextAreas so that selected portions can be bold or italic, or whatever I need. I need a way to apply toolTips or event listeners to individual words within the block of text to link those words to a glossary. I'm perfectly happy to create a definition panel that is populated and made visible with a mouseOver, but don't know how to do it to just a portion of the text. Is there a good / clean / easy way to do this?

  • using html text in as3

    Hello, i'm having a bit of a question, I have some newspost from my database. But there are tags in it and some tags aswell. My questiion is how i should go about it to get the newspost showing as it should be. The images should get shown instead of the tags etc. I know i'll have to work with a loader to use the images but how would as3 recognize them? Is there anyway i could use htmltext or something so as3 knows automaticly where the imagetags are? Also, if i add the image would it be possible to wrap the text around it? So i dont have an empty space next to the image?

  • AIR app still running when the iphone is blocked?

    I just made a simple game with flash professional 6.0 and adobe AIR sdk 3.4 for iPhone. The problem is this: when I lock the iphone pressing the power button, the screen switches off as usual, but the music of the game still sounds. If I exit the game pressing the home button it exits fine. Is only when locking the phone with the app opened. Also, I opted-out of multitasking for my app, so if I close my app with the home button and I reload it, it loads the main menu. Anyone knows how can I solve this?

So what encoding uses flash builder and How to make Flash Application send UTF-8 data to my server or some other readable format?

    I have an application in which I need to create mx.states.State objects on the fly, as I'm reading external data in order to create the states. Each State only has a single child, so here's my code which I was using to accomplish this: var state:State = new State(); state.name = "a"; state.overrides = [new AddChild(parent, DisplayObject(view))]; this.states.push(state); However, when I actually change a state, I get a runtime error relating to the fact that you can't call addChild on a spark.components.Group component. Is there an equivalent AddElement action for adding elements to a Group during a state change?
