  I'm writing a software application in C#.Net that connects to a SQL Server database. My C# project is under SVN version control, but I'd like to include my database schema in the SVN repository as well. An answer to a previous question of mine suggested storing the scripts to generate the database in version control. Is there a way to automatically generate these scripts from an existing database? I'm very new to SQL Server, but I noticed in management studio that the SQL commands to create a table can be generated automatically by right clicking on the table and clicking "Script Table As". Is there an equivalent command that would work with the entire database?

• Custom Message Box: Windows' "Move Cursor to Default Button" Feature

  In Microsoft Windows, there is a (highly useful) feature that automatically moves the cursor to the default button of a modal dialog box (activated in Win+R, "control mouse"). Now I have created a custom dialog box in Delphi (basically a TForm), see below. But, quite naturally, the cursor does not automatically move to the default button ("Yes" in this case), even though the feature is turned on in "control mouse". How to implement this feature using Windows API? I guess it would be sufficient to obtain the settings as a boolean (true if feature activated, false if not), and then simply move the cursor programmatically using SetCursorPos if true. But how to obtain this setting?

  I have a webrequest that returns a html response which has form inside with hidden fields with some javascript that submits the form automatically on pageload ( if this was run in a browser). If I save this file as *.html and run this file in browser , the java script code automatically posts the form and the output is excel file. I want to be able to generate this file(excel) from a c# code which is not running in broswer. I tried mocking thr form post but its complicated and has various scenarios based on the original webrequest querystring. any pointers.... i know its not possible to probably run JS code that posts the form - from within c# code but still thought of chekcing if someone has done that.

• How do you set the "global delimiter" in Excel using VBA (or unicorns)?

  I've noticed that if I use the text-to-columns feature with comma as the delimiter, any comma-delimited data I paste into Excel after that will be automatically split into columns. This makes me think Excel must have some kind of global delimiter. If this is true, how would I set this global delimiter using Excel VBA? Is it possible to do this directly, or do I need to "trick" Excel by doing a text-to-columns on some junk data, then delete the data? My ultimate goal is to be able to paste in a bunch of data from different files using a macro, and have Excel automatically split it into columns according to the delimiter I set.

  I am using GridView in asp .net and editing data with edit command field property (as we know after updating the edited row, we automatically update the database), and I want to use transactions (with begin to commit statement - including rollback) to commit this update query in database, after clicking in some button (after some events for example), not automatically to insert or update the edited data from grid directly to the DB...so I want to save them somewhere temporary (even many edited rows - not just one row) and then to confirm the transaction - to update the real tables in database... Any suggestions are welcomed...   Hello, we are converting from sharepoint 2003 to sharepoint on line. I am having trouble reproducing a specific behavior in the online version. If a choose a list, I get a "select a view" navigation on the left hand side of the page showing the available views. When a new view is created, it automatically appears on this navigation list. In the online sharepoint, instead there is a view dropdown. I know I can manually setup links on the quick launch but I'm looking for an automatic way to do this. Can the online sharepoint be set up so that when views are added they automatically appear as left-hand links? Or can the "views" dropdown be moved to the left side which would be an acceptable work around? Please note I am unfamiliar with SP designer and I do work with .NET but I dont want to go that route just for this issue - thanks.

• Porting a GUI from a pc to a wince device - issue is with the size of the screen

  I have to port a GUI that is currently running on a pc, to a wince device. I have already compiled the code on a win CE platform, the problem is now with the size of the screen of the device which is smaller than some of the dialog boxes of the GUI. I could resize some them in resource view of visual studio 2005. I am unable to proceed further as a lot of screens have bitmaps mapped to them and i cannot just resize the dialog boxes without changing the corresponding bitmaps. What is the best way to proceed- my last resort would be to disable the bitmaps and redraw them at a later stage. is there some method of automatically mapping the size of the screen to all the dialog boxes so that they would automatically resize (alongwith the assocaiated buttons etc)

• Favicon to PNG in PHP

  I need a PHP script to convert favicons to PNGs while keeping their original dimensions. I know Google has it's secret icon converter - http://www.google.com/s2/favicons?domain=http://facebook.com/ but this converts favicons to 16x16 even if they they were originally larger. So basically I need this, minus the shrinking effect. I've also seen this - http://www.controlstyle.com/articles/programming/text/php-favicon/ but I couldn't get it to work after hours of messing around with it. Basically I am trying to automatically grab the icon for a link that will be as large as possible - automatically 48x48 png based on a URL would be the perfect scenario, but I don't know of any humanly possible way to do this given that no websites happen to keep a 48x48 icon in a publicly accessible spot. Does anybody know of a script/service or have a suggestion? Thanks!

• How can I work with paragraphs in Wordpress?

  Wordpress has a filter that automatically add paragraphs to posts. I can remove this by adding the followin code: // Remove the <p> tags which WP automatically inserts in psots. remove_filter ('the_content', 'wpautop'); The problem is that i removes <br /> tags as well. So I'm not removing this filter at the moment. My problem is that inside a DIV box, I get extra space above and below the text (at the start / end of text). I could manipulate the <p> tag in css, but again, that will affect all <p> tags throughout the post content. Any suggestions to what I should do?

  Android SDK documentation says that startManagingCursor() method is depracated: This method is deprecated. Use the new CursorLoader class with LoaderManager instead; this is also available on older platforms through the Android compatibility package. This method allows the activity to take care of managing the given Cursor's lifecycle for you based on the activity's lifecycle. That is, when the activity is stopped it will automatically call deactivate() on the given Cursor, and when it is later restarted it will call requery() for you. When the activity is destroyed, all managed Cursors will be closed automatically. If you are targeting HONEYCOMB or later, consider instead using LoaderManager instead, available via getLoaderManager() So I would like to use CursorLoader.   Hello, I have a web page that handles remote control of a machine through Ajax. When user navigate away from the page, I'd like to automatically disconnect from the machine. So here is the code: window.onbeforeunload = function () { bas_disconnect_only(); } The disconnection function simply send a HTTP GET request to a PHP server side script, which does the actual work of disconnecting: function bas_disconnect_only() { var xhr = bas_send_request("req=10", function() { } ); } This works fine in FireFox. But with Chrome, the ajax request is not sent at all. There is a unacceptable workaround: adding alert to the callback function: function bas_disconnect_only() { var xhr = bas_send_request("req=10", function() { alert("You're been automatically disconnected."); } ); } After adding the alert call, the request would be sent successfully. But as you can see, it's not really a work around at all. Could somebody tell me if this is achievable with Chrome? What I'm doing looks completely legit to me. Thanks,

  hi, I'm using GNAT Programming Studio to update some ada files. I have a style check, which for these old files produces literally thousands of warnings. Helpfully GPS has a little auto fix 'wrench' icon in the locations view, that's great but I don't want to go through and click the wrench ten thousand times. Is there a way to have it correct these errors automatically without me having to click each wrench? They are all right so I want to be changed automatically. I saw some documentation saying you could do it: http://www.adacore.com/wp-content/files/auto_update/gps-docs/Code-Fixing.html But I don't get the auto fix option when I right click. Maybe you need the pro version? I've tried everything I can think of. This would save hours of work, so it's really appreciated if someone could help on this. Thanks!

• Publish web application from MSBuild Script using VS2010 targets resets working directory

  I am trying to automatically publish and deploy my .Net 4 web application automatically from a build script to be run by our continuous integration server. I am using the new _WPPCopyWebApplication target from VS2010 to perform the publish, however it appears to reset the current working directory of the msbuild project to c:\ this causes my prebuild steps to fail as they have relative paths to some external tools. The task I am running from our master.build file is as follows: <Target Name="PublishWeb"> <MSBuild Projects="$(ProjectPath)" Targets="ResolveReferences;_WPPCopyWebApplication" Properties="WebProjectOutputDir=$(DeployPath);OutDir=$(TempOutputFolder)$(WebOutputFolder)\;OutputPath=$(ProjectPath)\bin\Debug;" /> </Target> This does not happen when using the legacy _CopyWebApplication. Does anyone have any idea how to resolve this problem?

• iPhone - Make loadView entries fill up parent view?

  I have a loadView call that basically places one view at the top (like a header) and one at the bottom (like a footer). It's possible via a passed in parameter to not have a header or a footer, to hide them later, or to resize the view. I have all this working, but it's very susceptible to breaking because the views can go in various places of various sizes and all must be manually set to the correct size or they will not use up all the space. I want one in between the two of them that automatically resizes to fill whatever space is not taken by the others. loadView doesn't seem to be able to obtain the size of its parent's frame (or where it's being fit in, exactly), nor do I see an obvious way to just put the center view at a certain position and have its width and height automatically adapted. Any ideas? If I'm not explaining myself well enough and you know Java Swing, think BorderLayout with a BorderLayout.NORTH, BorderLayout.SOUTH, and BorderLayout.CENTER component.

The problem occurs when I execute : owner.setData(null) ; ownerDao.update(owner) ; The "Owner" table's Data_id becomes null , that's correct. But the "Data" row is not deleted automatically. I have to write another DataDao , and another service layer to wrap the two actions ( ownerDao.update(owner) ; dataDao.delete(data); ) Is it possible to make a data row automatically deleted when the owning Owner set it to null ?

  Hello All, My (smaller) company has an existing Google Apps Deployment, used for E-Mail / Calendar, etc. I'm looking into a SharePoint setup (2010 most likely). One of the best features is that new events are added to one's Outlook Calendar, e-mails can be sent automatically, etc. Naturally, this works best out-of-the-box with Exchange. I know I can add my own OpenID login system via an OpenID provider for SharePoint and get my users into the system. My question is, can anyone recommend the best way to go about making sure that events automatically find their way into users' calendars and e-mails on the Google Apps system? This would enable us to deploy SharePoint without worrying about migrating our e-mail system to Exchange first (Google Apps is more cost-effective for our needs and I'm required to keep it.) • iPhone - how to be notified of call completion

  Hi- I'm developing an application that needs to take action on completed phone calls, preferably right after the call ends but minimally once per day. I've read up on the new CoreTelphony framework, and it seems I can get call events if my app is active, but I don't see how to launch/wake my app when a call ends if my app is not the foreground app. I also don't see how any of the new pseudo-background "modes" would allow my app to listen for these events in the background. Do any of you know how this might be done? If post-call processing isn't possible, then I'd like to figure out a way to automatically wake my app up once per day, pull all of the call events since the last wakeup, and process them. I know how I might do this with Push or Local notifications, but my understanding is that those require user action to continue; in this case, I just want the processing to happen automatically. Is there a mechanism that would enable this? Thanks, Dan
