  • domain resolves old ip on win 7

    Hi, I recently have moved my server and changed nameservers and ip, i updated my domain. but somehow in windows 7 when i go to my domain, it resolves old ip even though mac os x shows the new site. Then i edited hosts file with the new ip in windows, it is ok now. but why this happens ? is it about isp cache or sth ? thanks

    I'm using mod_write to rewrite this www.variabledomain.variableext to http://my.com/variabledomain.variableext Note that variabledomain and variableext are really variable, so I can't hardcode them.     I was hoping some expert on here could quickly answer my question. I don't know much about DNS, so bare with me. I have a domain that is hosted with XO Communications. I want to host that domain at another web host, but I want to keep the mail at XO, so I'd like to keep the DNS managed by XO.   • How to handle new domain names?

    I have a new product which I'll call a pen ink reloader. I have a website using my products name, for example, www.inkywink.com which I want to have accessed by searches for keywords such as "pen ink", "pen out of ink" "ink for pens" etc. , since nobody knows that a pen ink reloader exists. I see that its quite difficult to get on front page for these keywords since they have lots of competition. However I notice that the exact phrases I want to rank highly for are available as domains. I purchase "www.penink.com" and "penoutofink.com" which for arguments sake are highly searched and the perfect keywords to get eyes on my money site www.inkywink.com . Two questions: 1. What is my best option to leverage those names so that they appear near top of searches so that I can get traffic to my money site? Do I just have them redirect 301 to inkywink.com or should I create small original content on each with links to my main site? 2. If I just have them redirected to inkywink.com, am I able to use keywords in metatag and headers for each site separately or do they all automatically obtain the same headers and tags as the site to which theyre redirected ? Thanks to anyone who can help as I'm a real newbie to all this.

    I control a subpage of a site: economics.university.edu/summerschool I have access to CNAME, etc. However I want to use Google sites to create the site and then map the URL above to my Google site. In other words, someone on the university site that navigated to the summer school page would be redirected to the Google site transparently. However I keep getting this error from Google: "The format of the web address is unsupported." Is this possible?

  • Cant get sub-domain created by Plesk working

    Apache 2.2 CentOS Plesk 9.x I am using Plesk to manage my domain names on my virtual host.and GoDaddy for DNS I have created a new sub-domain blog. I can see the httpd.include for example has a new virtualhost entry for blog.example.com I can also see folders have been created for the subdomain blog vhost\example.com folder But when I try to go to blog.example.com - I get an error - basically the host is not getting resolved My site - example.com is working fine otherwise Any idea what could I be missing ? I did try restarting the apache web server as well

  • IIS isn't propagating domain

    I called Godaddy and 'verified' my settings for the two ips were correct. ns1.asezo.com = xx.xx.xx.15 ns2.asezo.com = xx.xx.xx.16 then I set the nameserver of asezo.com to the ns1/ns2 above, which Godaddy tech support says is right. When I try to visit my site, it says Oops! Google Chrome could not find asezo.com. When I try to ping the website, it gives me a time out. I have the bindings in IIS for the default website as: http - xx.xx.xx.15 - 80 www.asezo.com and http - xx.xx.xx.15 - 80 asezo.com And I'm still getting nothing. I can go directly to the ip http://xx.xx.xx.15/ and it gives me the IIS default website, I just can't get the url to propagate. What am I doing wrong?

  • Grizzly server - works with IP, but not with domain name

    I'm hosting a grizzly web service on a Windows 7 Pro machine (embedded in a regular Java process), and it is binding to http://my-domain-name. When trying to hit the service from another machine, requests to http://my-domain-name fail (fiddler shows error code 502), but requests to http://my-ip work. When the service runs on a Windows Server 2008 machine, this doesn't happen (both requests succeed). What could be the issue?

    Can I configure my domain, example.com's name servers as: ns1.dyndns.com ns2.dyndns.com ns1.opendns.com ns2.opendns.com That is, combining free dns services to create a redundant name server array? Note these name servers from different companies are not aware other companies' name servers also serve our domain. In case one company, say, ns1(2).dyndns.com is down, will people experience interruption when visiting my example.com? If one name server is unreachable, the next name server will be tried, or?

How do i setup this up so I have it in a subdomain (i.e. test.livesite.com)? Is it just set it up on the server and only add the cname dns setting? Or is there a better way?     Possible Duplicate: How to persuade C fanatics to work on my C++ open source project? I am launching an open-source project into a space where a lot of development is done Linux-kernel-style, i.e. C-language with a low-level mindset. My project is broad and complex and uses aspects of the C++ language and libraries, including the Boost library to best effect for simple, slightly syntactically sweetened, elegant and well structured high level code. We are using C++ templates too to avoid duplication of code and for static polymorphism in code specialisation for performance. Many of the experts in this field are well used to pure C-language projects. How can I persuade them to contribute to my idiomatic C++ based project? I have no objection to C-language subcomponents or the use of a C-like subset for parts of the project so that might be part of the answer. This is a rewritten and retagged rehash of my previous question that was closed. Apologies to those who read and answered for it not being constructive. I hope this new question is viewed as constructive. Please note that this is not a language advocacy question and please keep answers in that spirit.
