  Hi everyone, I'm trying to e-mail a html table, that has links within it. But when I receive the e-mail, it just shows me the html code itself. I'm using PHP pear to send the email. I try constructing a string like so $body = "<table>"; $body = $body . "<tr><td><a href='http://google.ca'>Google</a></td></tr>"; $body = $body . "</table>"; then e-mailing it, but when I receive the e-mail, it comes like this <table><tr><td><a href='http://google.ca'>Google</a></td></tr></table> Any suggestions? Thanks!

• Index page content identical to page 1 of a gallery-type website

  I have a gallery type website, e.g. a site that lists blog posts or pictures in a paginated manner. However, I have 2 pages that have identical content: example.com/index.html example.com/page/1 Page 2, 3 and so on have different content naturally. However, for SEO purposes, what is the best way of telling Google that page 1 is identical to index.html? Should I 302 redirect index.html to /page/1 so index.html is non-existent, so to say or should I put a canonical tag in /page/1 (but not on /page/2) that points to index.html?

• Suggestions on managing social media accounts

  As a company we now have Facebook, LinkedIN, Twitter and now Google+, is there a way to easily manage all these accounts without having to log into them individually? Things like posting content to each one is becoming a full time job in itself, is there a way to post once that in turn posts to all other accounts? I used to use http://ping.fm/ a long time ago, has there been any advancements in something similar to this? With friend lists, news feeds etc etc for each one, I wish there was a way to manage them all in one place with a service/tool!

• Validating sitemap with Yahoo Explorer

  Hello, I have a sitemap index on my website, which I successfully validated with "Google webmasters tools". The declarations at the top are: <sitemapindex xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9 http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9/siteindex.xsd" xmlns="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9"> This index lists 2 sitemaps . One of them contains "images" tags after using the http://www.google.com/schemas/sitemap-image/1.1 schema declaration. When submitting this sitemap index to Yahoo explorer, I get error: ERROR: FF_30000 “Not an accepted feed format file. Please consult the documentaiton for supported file formats.” Any ideas? Joel

• Rabbitvcs Nautilus not working on ubuntu 13.04

  I just installed Rabbitvcs on ubuntu 13.04 as per the official instructions. When i tried to install apt-get install rabbitvcs-nautilus3, i got the following error message : Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Package rabbitvcs-nautilus3 is not available, but is referred to by another package. This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or is only available from another source However the following packages replace it: rabbitvcs-nautilus E: Package 'rabbitvcs-nautilus3' has no installation candidate So i installed it with apt-get install rabbitvcs-nautilus, and now rabbitvcs options are not showing when i right click on a folder. Any help and suggestions will be highly appreciable. Thanks.

  I'm following the Nagios Ubuntu quickstart instructions. I'm on Ubuntu 10.10 and installing Nagios 3.2.3. At the bottom of the docs it says I need to install the mailx and postfix packages.   Where do you have the most success getting your ArcGIS development questions answered? ESRI forums? Stack Overflow? Google? Mailing lists? Blog posts? ESRI documentation? I can usually get answers to my ASP.NET/Oracle/JavaScript/C# questions in short order, but questions about ESRI products and APIs are a different matter. Posts founder in the forums, Google returns void, etc. I'm sure this is not uncommon for niche commercial products, but frustrating nevertheless. What works for you? Please share.

  No Silverlight today. I made a mistake. I created an application to upload a file and store it encrypted on a server. But I forgot to check on what machine it needed to be deployed. Yesterday I heard it was on an old ASP.NET 1.1 machine. Oops. Oh well, how hard can it be to change this simple application? Answer: much harder than I thought. Today I took out: Encryption using X509 Certificates Master Pages Compression Using statements Generic lists Upload control ASP.NET Membership All via a key hole to access a virtual machine. It has its charm, though, doing primitive things. Like camping on the moon.

  I am going to interview within two weeks for an internship that would involve Python programming. Can anyone suggest what possible areas should I polish? I am looking for commonly asked stuff in interviews for Python openings. Apart from the fact that I have already been doing the language for over a year now, I fail to perceive what they can ask me. Like for a C or C++ interview, there are lots of questions ranging from reversing of strings to building linked lists, but for a Python interview, I am clueless.   What I have: 1 hypothetical object/class + other classes and related methods that gives me functionality. What I want: linking this object to 0 to N methods in realtime on request when an event is triggered Each event is related to a single method or a class, so a single event does not necessarily mean "connect this 1 method only" but can also mean "connect all the methods from that class or a group of methods" Avoiding linked lists because I have to browse the entire list to know what methods are linked, because this does not ensure me that the linked methods are kept in a particular order (let's say an alphabetic order by their names or classes), and also because this involve a massive amount of pointers usage. Example: I have an object Employee Jon, Jon acquires knowledge and forgets things pretty easily, so his skills may vary during a period of time, I'm responsible for what Jon can add or remove from his CV, how can I implement this logic?

• Why won't Opera let me use the Ubuntu font?

  This is driving me crazy. I'm using monochrome rendering for fonts and this causes a few problems in my browser so I wanted to make Ubuntu the standard sans-serif font. I changed it in the preferences and it initially works okay but after a while it reverts to the default. If I go into the font section in the menu, it still lists Ubuntu and if I click OK the pages will correct themselves. Does anyone know I can stop this behaviour? I'm using Opera 11 on Ubuntu 10.10

  I am a wondering if there is a recommended "best practice" for a product search SEO. I know to create a dynamic sitemap file that lists links to all products in the site. However, I want to implement a a bookmark-able "advanced search". Should I let search engines index any of the results? Take the following parameters for a search on a make believe used car website: minprice (minimum price in dollars) maxprice (maximum price in dollars) make (honda, audi, volvo) model (accord, A4, S40) minyear (minimum model year) maxyear (maximum model year) minmileage (minimum mileage) maxmileage (maximum mileage) Given these parameters, there could be an infinite number of search combinations: Price Between $10,000 and $20,000 /search?minprice=10000&maxprice&20000 Audis with less than 50k miles /search?model=audi&maxmileage=50000 More than 100,000 miles and less than $5,000 /search?minmileage=100000&maxprice=5000 etc. Over time, there may be inbound links to a variety of these types of searches, yet they are all slices of the same data. Should I allow for all of these searches to be indexed?

• Passenger (mod-rails) can't find libopenssl-ruby

  Trying to build an nginx server with Phusion Passenger on Ubuntu 11.10 (hurray for the new version!). Running "passenger-install-nginx-module" outputs the following error: * OpenSSL support for Ruby... not found With the following suggestion to fix it: * To install OpenSSL support for Ruby: Please run apt-get install libopenssl-ruby as root. Running "sudo apt-get install libopenssl-ruby" yields the following output: Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Note, selecting 'libruby' instead of 'libopenssl-ruby' libruby is already the newest version. 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded. A little research shows that libruby is a virtual package that provides libopenssl-ruby as part of the package. However, the passenger-install-nginx-module script still can't find it, and keeps throwing the same error. Help me, please! I'm in a little over my head on this one, and the google-the-error-code method that usually works is failing me today.

• Low coupling processing big quantities of data

  Usually I achieve low coupling by creating classes that exchange lists, sets, and maps between them. Now I am developing a batch application and I can't put all the data inside a data structure because there isn't enough memory. I have to read and process one chunk of data and then going to the next one. So having low coupling is much more difficult because I have to check somewhere if there is still data to read, etc. What I am using now is: Source - Process - Persist The classes that process have to ask to the Source classes if there are more rows to read. What are the best practices and or useful patterns in such situations? I hope I am explaining myself, if not tell me.

• Blender to Collada to Assimp - Rigid (Non-skinned) Animation

  I am trying to get simple animations to work, exporting from Blender and importing into my application. My first attempt was as follows: Open Blender at factory settings. Select the default cube and insert a location keyframe. Select another frame and move the cube. Insert a second location keyframe. Export to Collada. When I open the Collada file using assimp it contains zero animations, even though in Blender the cube animates correctly. On my next attempt, I inserted a bone armature with a single bone, made it the parent of the cube, and animated the bone instead. Again the animation worked correctly in Blender. Assimp now lists one animation but both key frames have the position [0, 0, 0] Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get animated (non-skinned) meshes from Blender into Assimp? My ultimate goal here is to export animated meshes from Blender, process them offline into my own model format, and load them into my SharpDX based graphics engine..
