• How can I stop cURL from outputting the contents of the page it loads into the browser?

  I currently use curl_multi_* to connect to a few sites. Its only sending a few $_GET variables to start a script, but it outputs the html from the sites to the browser. I want to stop this. I already use a short timeout, but sometimes the scripts start fast, and I don't want to set the timeout any lower, in case it causes it not to connect. So how can I stop the output to the browser from cURL?

  we have a large table (5608782 rows and growing) that has 3 columns Zip1,Zip2, distance all columns are currently int, we would like to convert this table to use varchars for international usage but need to do a mass import into the new table convert zip < 5 digits to 0 padded varchars 123 becomes 00123 etc. is there a way to do this short of looping over each row and doing the translation programmaticly?

We use the "Accesskey" attribute in IE to provide short cuts to our buttons. However, how do we do this in Thai? Does HTML and IE support unicode access keys and if so how?   I've found plenty of tutorials / questions on Stackoverflow that deal with copying char arrays from C/JNI side into something like a byte[] in Java, but not the other way around. I am using a native C library which expects a byte array. I simply want to get data from a byte[] in java, into preferably an unsigned char[] in C. Long story short: What is the best way of copying data from a jBytearray in JNI? Is there any way to detect it's size?

  I've read lots of tutorials on how to deserialize a JSON object to an object of a particular using DataContractJsonSerializer. However, I'd like to deserialize my object to a Dictionary consisting of either Strings, Arrays or Dictionaries, such as System.Json does with SilverLight when I say JsonObject.Parse(myJSONstring). Is there an equivalent to System.Json that I can use in my WPF project?   We added a SharePoint BDC model project to a solution in Visual Studio 2010. Ever since, whenever the solution is built, instead of showing the Build output in the Output window, it insists on having "SharePoint Tools" selected in the "Show Output from:" drop-down, just to say "Model validation started ... Model validation completed with no errors." Short of shutting off any SharePoint projects in the build configuration, can this behavior be overridden?

  Hello, I have the following (simplified) query select P.peopleID, P.peopleName, ED.DataNumber from peopleTable P left outer join ( select PE.peopleID, PE.DataNumber from formElements FE inner join peopleExtra PE on PE.ElementID = FE.FormElementID where FE.FormComponentID = 42 ) ED on ED.peopleID = P.peopleID Without the sub-query this procedure takes ~7 seconds, but with it, it takes about 3minutes. Given that table peopleExtra is rather large, is there a more efficient way to do that join (short of restructuring the DB) ?

• Does it make sense to have several UDP ports ready? Will packets be dropped?

  I'm coding a networking application on Android. I'm thinking of having a single UDP port and Datagram socket that receives all the datagrams that are sent to it and then have different processing queues for these messages. I'm doubting if I should have a second or third UDP socket on standby. Some messages will be very short (100bytes or so), but others will have to transfer files. My concern is, will the Android kernel drop the small messages if it's too busy handling the bigger ones?

  I use bash on mac and one of the aliases is like this alias gitlog='git --no-pager log -n 20 --pretty=format:%h%x09%an%x09%ad%x09%s --date=short --no-merges' However when I do :! gitlog I get /bin/bash: gitlog: command not found I know I can add aliases like this in my .gitconfig [alias] co = checkout st = status ci = commit br = branch df = diff However I don't want to add all my bash aliases to .gitconfig. That is not DRY. Is there a better solution?

• How do I find where an exception was thrown in C++?

  I have a program that throws an uncaught exception somewhere. All I get is a report of an exception being thrown, and no information as to where it was thrown. It seems illogical for a program compiled to contain debug symbols not to notify me of where in my code an exception was generated. Is there any way to tell where my exceptions are coming from short of setting 'catch throw' in gdb and calling a backtrace for every single thrown exception?
