I have a datagrid with one column having a radio button. I want to set the GroupName when a certain condition is reached. How can Safari be prevented from scrolling an overflow:hidden iframe?

With Safari you can disable most iframe scrolling by setting style="overflow: hidden;" on the iframe. However, if you click in the iframe and move the mouse the content scrolls anyhow. This is mostly true: there is no scrollbar, the mouse wheel doesn't do anything and neither do the arrow keys. However click and drag still scrolls the view. This is particularly noticeable when selecting text. Does anyone know any trick to stop Safari from doing this?

TranslateTransform for drag and drop in Silverlight

We're trying to implement drag and drop in Silverlight (3). We want users to be able to drag elements from a treeview onto another part of a UI. The parent element is a Grid, and we've been trying to use a TranslateTransform along with the MouseLeftButtonDown, MouseMove (etc) events, as recommended by various online examples. The drag start is correctly initiated, but the item we are dragging appears in the 'wrong' location (offset a few hundred pixels to the right and down from the cursor) and I can't for the life of me work out why. I have read alot of the documentation and decided to do a small mockup of a system using .Net RIA Services. How do I bind for example in a form to properties that are in the Person Class? Like: <TextBox Text="{Binding FirstName, ElementName=source2}"/> Everything seems to come back as IEnumerable or as CollectionViews (like the DATA binding in the samples) which aren't useful for a single entity. I want a single persons entry, why do I want a CollectionView in which I cannot access properties directly. I have also use the: LoadOperation<Person> oLoadOperation = oDataContext.Load(oDataContext.GetSinglePersonQuery()); I am very close to giving up on this RIA idea and just going with a normal WCF service as it is more predictable and manageable at this stage.

I have looked through the documentation and DesiredHeight does not appear to be a member of Border. Can anyone explain where DesiredHeight is coming from? Also, is there any way to resolve/suppress this error so my program output is clean?

Selecting values from a multiselect not working in webkit

Hello! The code below works fine in Firefox. However in Chrome and Safari it doesn't. Essentially it returns an array of values, then selects them from multiselect. Problem executing script using Python and subprocces.call yet works in Bash

Hello, For the first time, I am asking a little bit of help over here as I am more of a ServerFault person. I am doing some scripting in Python and I've been loving the language so far yet I have this little problem which is keeping my script from working. Here is the code line in question : subprocess.call('xen-create-image --hostname '+nom+' --memory '+memory+' --partitions=/root/scripts/part.tmp --ip '+ip+' --netmask '+netmask+' --gateway '+gateway+' --passwd',shell=True) I have tried the same thing with os.popen. All the variables are correctly set. When I execute the command in question in my regular Linux shell, it works perfectly fine but when I execute it using my Python scripts, I get bizarre errors. I even replaced subprocess.call() by the print function to make sure I am using the exact output of the command. I went looking into environment variables of my shell but they are pretty much the same... I'll post the error I am getting but I'm not sure it's relevant to my problem. Use of uninitialized value $lines[0] in substitution (s///) at /usr/share/perl5/Config/IniFiles.pm line 614. Use of uninitialized value $_ in pattern match (m//) at /usr/share/perl5/Config/IniFiles.pm line 628. I am not a Python expert so I'm most likely missing something here. jquery form wizard validation

Hi all, I'm trying to implement a validation script (bassistance) with a jquery form wizard (http://www.jankoatwarpspeed.com/post/2009/09/28/webform-wizard-jquery.aspx) but I'm having some problems. On the page for the jquery wizard, a guy named "Tommy" came up with a piece of code to implement bassistance with the code. But for some reason I can't get it to work. I really enjoy the flex states framework. You define a few states for your control, and then can set child controls to only appear in certain states. This would be really useful I think in .NET where you use the page for views like update / insert. I was considering extending the Page element to have a states property using extension methods, and adding the include in to controls. This way I could auto-hide controls based on the current view at render time. What is even cooler in Flex, is that you can use different handlers / properties based on the current state. <s:Button label="Sign in" label.register="Register" id="loginButton" enabled="true" click.signin="signin()" click.register="register()"/> I'm sure there's a way I could implement something similar to this as well. Do you think this is a good idea? Or does it just add a level of abstraction to framework that already has a poor separation of concerns?

Localizing DataAnnotations Custom Validator

Hello SO, I'm currently working in an MVC 2 app which has to have everything localized in n-languages (currently 2, none of them english btw). I validate my model classes with DataAnnotations but when I wanted to validate a DateTime field found out that the DataTypeAttribute returns always true, no matter it was a valid date or not (that's because when I enter a random string "foo", the IsValid() method checks against "01/01/0001 ", dont know why). Decided to write my own validator extending ValidationAtribute class: public class DateTimeAttribute : ValidationAttribute { public override bool IsValid(object value) { DateTime result; if (value.ToString().Equals("01/01/0001 0:00:00")) { return false; } return DateTime.TryParse(value.ToString(), out result); } } Now it checks OK when is valid and when it's not, but my problem starts when I try to localize it: [Required(ErrorMessageResourceType = typeof(MSG), ErrorMessageResourceName = "INS_DATA_Required")] [CustomValidation.DateTime(ErrorMessageResourceType = typeof(MSG), ErrorMessageResourceName = "INS_DATA_DataType")] public DateTime INS_DATA { get; set; } If I put nothing in the field I get a localized MSG (MSG being my resource class) for the key=INS_DATA_Required but if I put a bad-formatted date I get the "The value 'foo' is not valid for INS_DATA" default message and not the localized MSG. What am I misssing?

Make winform run away from the mouse.

Okay so I'm trying to make a little gag program that will "run away" from the mouse. Android Debugging InetAddress.isReachable

I am trying to figure out how to tell if a particular ipaddress is available in my android app during debugging ( I haven't tried this on an actual device ). From reading it appears that InetAddress.isReachable should do this for me. Initially I thought that I could code something like: InetAddress address = InetAddress.getByAddress( new byte[] { (byte) 192, (byte) 168, (byte) 254, (byte) 10 ); success = address.isReachable( 3000 ); This returns false even though I am reasonably sure it is a reachable address. I found that if I changed this to 127, 0, 0, 1 it returned success. My next attempt was same code, but I used the address I got from a ping of www.google.com ( 72.167.164.64 as of this writing ). No success. So then I tried a further example: int timeout = 2000; InetAddress[] addresses = InetAddress.getAllByName("www.google.com"); for (InetAddress address : addresses) { if ( address.isReachable(timeout)) { success = true; // just set a break point here } } I am relatively new to Java and Android so I suspect I am missing something, but I can't find anything that would indicate what that is.

Dojox Datagrid contains data, but shows up as empty

I'd really appreciate any help on this. There is this Dojox Datagrid that I'm creating programatically and supplying JSON data. As of now, I'm creating this data within JavaScript itself. (Can't post images since my account is new here) As you may notice, there are 6 rows for 6 pieces of data I have created but the grid is a mess.
