  • Facebook og:url ignored in favour of a Facebook hosted page about the og entity

    - by Dan
I am trying to implement the Like button on my pages. Those pages represent the review page for a product. When a user Likes the page, it shows up in Facebook (not as a link, but as liking an entity), however when you click on the entity in Facebook it links through to a facebook.com hosted page representing the page. I want the user to be redirected to the og:url page? This happens for example when you Like an artist page on Grroveshar: http://grooveshark.com/#!/artist/Elbow/4795 I am clearly "doing it wrong". I am using the following markup to include the SDK. MYAPPID is included by the code generator Facebook provides so I assume it is required. <div id="fb-root"></div> <script>(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1&appId=MYAPPID"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));</script> Then my code to render the Like button. <div class="fb-like" data-send="false" data-width="450" data-show-faces="true"></div> And finally my og tags: <meta property="og:title" content="My product" /> <meta property="og:type" content="product" /> <meta property="og:url" content="http://site.com/product_1/" /> <meta property="og:image" content="http://site.com/image1.jpg" /> <meta property="og:site_name" content="My-Site-Name.com" /> <meta property="fb:admins" content="MYFACEBOOKID" /> <meta property="fb:app_id" content="MYAPPID" /> Thanks!

  • Card emulation via software NFC

    - by user85030
After reading a lot of questions, i decided to post this one. I read that stock version of android does not support API's for card emulation. Also, we cannot write custom applications to secure element embedded in nfc controllers due to keys managed by google/samsung. I need to emulate a card (mifare or desfire etc). The option i can see is doing it via software. I have a ACR122U reader and i've tested that NFC P2P mode works fine with the Nexus-S that i have. 1) I came across a site that said that nexus s's NFC controller (pn532) can emulate a mifare 4k card. If this is true, can i write/read apdu commands to this emulated card? (Probably if i use a modded rom like cyanogenmod) 2) Can i write a android application that reads apdu commands sent from the reader and generate appropriate responses (if not fully, then upto some extent only). To do so, i searched that we need to patch nexus s with cynagenmod. Has someone tried emulating card via this method? I see that this is possible since we have products from access control companies offering mobile applications via which one can open doors e.g. http://www.assaabloy.com/en/com/Products/seos-mobile-access/

    I have the following task in my nant script: <nunit2 verbose="true"> <formatter type="Plain" /> <test assemblyname="${output}\Test.dll" appconfig="${project.src.root}\Test\Test.config"/> </nunit2> Test.config is the following: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <configuration> <runtime> <assemblyBinding xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1"> <dependentAssembly> <assemblyIdentity name="nunit.framework" publicKeyToken="96d09a1eb7f44a77" culture="Neutral" /> <bindingRedirect oldVersion="2.5.3.9345" newVersion="2.2.8.0" /> </dependentAssembly> </assemblyBinding> </runtime> </configuration> I get an error when i run this task saying could not load nunit.framework. I know nunit is not in the GAC (not strongly signed). Does Nunit have to be in the GAC for this task to work?

  • ORGetValue from Offline Registry - ERROR_MORE_DATA

    - by user314749
I am trying to create an offline registry in memory using the offreg.dll provided in the windows ddk 7 package. You can find out more information on the offreg.dll here: MSDN Currently, while attempting to read a value from an open registry hive / key I receive the following error: 234 or ERROR_MORE_DATA Here is the .h code that contains ORGetValue: DWORD ORAPI ORGetValue ( __in ORHKEY Handle, __in_opt PCWSTR lpSubKey, __in_opt PCWSTR lpValue, __out_opt PDWORD pdwType, __out_bcount_opt(*pcbData) PVOID pvData, __inout_opt PDWORD pcbData ); Here is the code that I am using to pull the data [DllImport("offreg.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Auto, EntryPoint = "ORGetValue", SetLastError = true, CallingConvention = CallingConvention.StdCall)] public static extern uint ORGetValue(IntPtr Handle, string lpSubKey, string lpValue, out uint pdwType, out string pvData, out uint pcbData); IntPtr myHive; IntPtr myKey; string myValue; uint pdwtype; uint pcbdata; uint ret3 = ORGetValue(myKey, "", "DefaultUserName", out pdwtype, out myValue, out pcbdata); The goal is to be able to read myValue as a string. I am not sure if I need to use marshaling... or a second call with an adjusted buffer.. Or really how to adjust the buffer in C#. Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • Dojox Datagrid contains data, but shows up as empty

    - by Vivek
I'd really appreciate any help on this. There is this Dojox Datagrid that I'm creating programatically and supplying JSON data. As of now, I'm creating this data within JavaScript itself. Please refer to the below code sample. var upgradeStageStructure =[{ cells:[ { field: "stage", name: "Stage", width: "50%", styles: 'text-align: left;' }, { field:"status", name: "Status", width: "50%", styles: 'text-align: left;' } ] }]; var upgradeStageData = [ {id:1, stage: "Preparation", status: "Complete"}, {id:2, stage: "Formatting", status: "Complete"}, {id:3, stage: "OS Installation", status: "Complete"}, {id:4, stage: "OS Post-Installation", status: "In Progress"}, {id:5, stage: "Application Installation", status: "Not Started"}, {id:6, stage: "Application Post-Installation", status: "Not Started"} ]; var stagestore = new dojo.data.ItemFileReadStore({data:{identifier:"id", items: upgradeStageData}}); var upgradeStatusGrid = new dojox.grid.DataGrid({ autoHeight: true, style: "width:400px;padding:0em;margin:0em;", store: stagestore, clientSort: false, rowSelector: '20px', structure: upgradeStageStructure, columnReordering: false, selectable: false, singleClickEdit: false, selectionMode: 'none', loadingMessage: 'Loading Upgrade Stages', noDataMessage:'There is no data', errorMessage: 'Failed to load Upgrade Status' }); dojo.byId('progressIndicator').innerHTML=''; dojo.byId('progressIndicator').appendChild(upgradeStatusGrid.domNode); upgradeStatusGrid.startup(); The problem is that I am not seeing anything within the grid upon display (no headers, no data). But I know for sure that the data in the grid does exist and the grid is properly initialized, because I called alert (grid.domNode.innerHTML);. The resultant HTML that is thrown up does show a table containing header rows and the above data. This link contains an image which illustrates what I'm seeing when I display the page. (Can't post images since my account is new here) As you may notice, there are 6 rows for 6 pieces of data I have created but the grid is a mess. Please help out if you think you know what could be going wrong. Thanks in advance, Viv

  • Which is a good way to maintain resources for Internationalization in .Net

    - by ashtee
I have thought of three approaches to create and maintain resources in .Net projects for WinForms using Visual Studio 2008. (I am sure there should be more than three ways.) I need to decide on one before starting to implement internationalization for our product. Have individual sets of resource files (resx) for each windows form or piece of UI (a custom control) in each .net project. These are auto generated by Visual Studio when Localizable property is set to true in the form or control properties. Have one resource file per .net project. This is added manually and updated manually with the resource strings and messages. Have one resource manager project that has resources for all the components for a set of .net projects. Personally, I do not like the first approach as it creates numerous resources files. The only advantage we get in this approach is that we do not need to set text in UI elements manually. I like second and third approach as they are easy to maintain and there is only one set of resources that you need to handle. So no duplication of strings and messages. Easy for the translators also. What are your thoughts? Please share.

  • verilog / systemverilog -- What is the behavior of blocking statements across two always blocks?

    - by miles.sherman
I am wondering about the behavior of the below code. There are two always blocks, one is combinational to calculate the next_state signal, the other is sequential which will perform some logic and determine whether or not to shutdown the system. It does this by setting the shutdown_now signal high and then calling state <= next_state. My question is if the conditions become true that the shutdown_now signal is set (during clock cycle n) in a blocking manner before the state <= next_state line, will the state during clock cycle n+1 be SHUTDOWN or RUNNING? In other words, does the shutdown_now = 1'b1 line block across both state machines since the state signal is dependent on it through the next_state determination? enum {IDLE, RUNNING, SHUTDOWN} state, next_state; logic shutdown_now; // State machine (combinational) always_comb begin case (state) IDLE: next_state <= RUNNING; RUNNING: next_state <= shutdown ? SHUTDOWN : RUNNING; SHUTDOWN: next_state <= SHUTDOWN; default: next_state <= SHUTDOWN; endcase end // Sequential Behavior always_ff @ (posedge clk) begin // Some code here if (/*some condition) begin shutdown_now = 1'b0; end else begin shutdown_now = 1'b1; end state <= next_state; end

  • Get reference to all instances of jquery ui widget?

    - by Hailwood
I am writing a jquery UI widget that simply wraps the bootstrap popover plugin, In the widget you can pass in the option 'singular', if this is passed in then it should call a function of all other instances of the plugin. something like $('#one').myWidget(); $('#two').myWidget(); $('#three').myWidget(); $('#four').myWidget(); $('#one').myWidget('show'); //stuff from widget one is now visible $('#two').myWidget('show'); //stuff from widget one and two are now visible $('#three').myWidget('show'); //stuff from widget one, two and three are now visible $('#two').myWidget('hide'); //stuff from widget one and three are now visible $('#four').myWidget('show', {singular:true}); //stuff from widget four is now visible So, I imagine the show function looking like: show: function(options){ options = options || {}; if(options.singular){ var instances = '????'; // how do I get all instances? $.each(instances, function(i, o){ o.myWidget('hide'); }); } this.element.popover('show'); } So, question being, how would I get a reference to all elements that have the myWidget widget on them?

  • Searching a document for multiple terms in VBA?

    - by Tony
I'm trying to create a macro to be used in Microsoft Word 2007 that will search a document for multiple keywords (string variables) located in an external Excel file (the reason for having it in an external file is that the terms will often be changed and updated). I've figured out how to search a document paragraph by paragraph for a single term and color every instance of that term, and I assumed that the proper method would be to use a dynamic array as the search term variable. The question is: how do I get the macro to create an array containing all the terms from an external file and search each paragraph for each and every term? This is what I have so far: Sub SearchForMultipleTerms() ' Dim SearchTerm As String 'declare search term SearchTerm = InputBox("What are you looking for?") 'prompt for term. this should be removed, as the terms should come from an external XLS file rather than user input. Selection.Find.ClearFormatting Selection.Find.Replacement.ClearFormatti… With Selection.Find .Text = SearchTerm 'find the term! .Forward = True .Wrap = wdFindStop .Format = False .MatchCase = False .MatchWholeWord = False .MatchWildcards = False .MatchSoundsLike = False .MatchAllWordForms = False End With While Selection.Find.Execute Selection.GoTo What:=wdGoToBookmark, Name:="\Para" 'select paragraph Selection.Font.Color = wdColorGray40 'color paragraph Selection.MoveDown Unit:=wdParagraph, Count:=1 'move to next paragraph Wend End Sub Thanks for looking!

  • Elegantly handling constraint violations in EJB/JPA environment?

    - by hallidave
I'm working with EJB and JPA on a Glassfish v3 app server. I have an Entity class where I'm forcing one of the fields to be unique with a @Column annotation. @Entity public class MyEntity implements Serializable { private String uniqueName; public MyEntity() { } @Column(unique = true, nullable = false) public String getUniqueName() { return uniqueName; } public void setUniqueName(String uniqueName) { this.uniqueName = uniqueName; } } When I try to persist an object with this field set to a non-unique value I get an exception (as expected) when the transaction managed by the EJB container commits. I have two problems I'd like to solve: 1) The exception I get is the unhelpful "javax.ejb.EJBException: Transaction aborted". If I recursively call getCause() enough times, I eventually reach the more useful "java.sql.SQLIntegrityConstraintViolationException", but this exception is part of the EclipseLink implementation and I'm not really comfortable relying on it's existence. Is there a better way to get detailed error information with JPA? 2) The EJB container insists on logging this error even though I catch it and handle it. Is there a better way to handle this error which will stop Glassfish from cluttering up my logs with useless exception information? Thanks.

  • PHP Encrypt/Decrypt with TripleDes, PKCS7, and ECB

    - by Brandon Green
    I've got my encryption function working properly however I cannot figure out how to get the decrypt function to give proper output. Here is my encrypt function: function Encrypt($data, $secret) { //Generate a key from a hash $key = md5(utf8_encode($secret), true); //Take first 8 bytes of $key and append them to the end of $key. $key .= substr($key, 0, 8); //Pad for PKCS7 $blockSize = mcrypt_get_block_size('tripledes', 'ecb'); $len = strlen($data); $pad = $blockSize - ($len % $blockSize); $data .= str_repeat(chr($pad), $pad); //Encrypt data $encData = mcrypt_encrypt('tripledes', $key, $data, 'ecb'); return base64_encode($encData); } Here is my decrypt function: function Decrypt($data, $secret) { $text = base64_decode($data); $data = mcrypt_decrypt('tripledes', $secret, $text, 'ecb'); $block = mcrypt_get_block_size('tripledes', 'ecb'); $pad = ord($data[($len = strlen($data)) - 1]); return substr($data, 0, strlen($data) - $pad); } Right now I am using a key of test and I'm trying to encrypt 1234567. I get the base64 output from encryption I'm looking for, but when I go to decrypt I get a blank response. I'm not very well versed in encryption/decryption so any help is much appreciated!!

  • c# CF Restart a thread

    - by Ed
Hi all, Supose you have a form with a button that starts/stops a thread (NOT pausing or interrupting, I really need to stop the thread !) Check out this code: Constructor() { m_TestThread = new Thread(new ThreadStart(ButtonsThread)); m_bStopThread = false; } ButtonClick { // If the thread is not running, start it m_TestThread.Start(); // If the thread is running, stop it m_bStopThread = true; m_TestThread.Join(); } ThreadFunction() { while(!m_bStopThread) { // Do work } } 2 questions (remember CF): - How can I know if the thread is running (I cannot seem to access the m_pThreadState, and I've tried the C++ GetThreadExitCode(), it give false results) ? - Most important question : if I have stopped the thread, I cannot restart it, most probably because the m_TestThread.m_fStarted is still set (and it is private so I cannot access it) ! And thus m_TestThread.Start() generates an exception (StateException). Stopping the thread with an Abort() doesn't solve it. If I put my m_TestThread = null; it works, but then I create a memory leak. The GC doesn't clean up either, even if I wait for xx seconds. Anybody has an idea ? All help highly appreciated ! Grtz E

  • mod_cgi , mod_fastcgi, mod_scgi , mod_wsgi, mod_python, FLUP. I don't know how many more. what is mo

    - by claws
I recently learnt Python. I liked it. I just wanted to use it for web development. This thought caused all the troubles. But I like these troubles :) Coming from PHP world where there is only one way standardized. I expected the same and searched for python & apache. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/449055/setting-up-python-on-windows-apache says Stay away from mod_python. One common misleading idea is that mod_python is like mod_php, but for python. That is not true. So what is equivalent of mod_php in python? I need little clarification on this one http://stackoverflow.com/questions/219110/how-python-web-frameworks-wsgi-and-cgi-fit-together CGI, FastCGI and SCGI are language agnostic. You can write CGI scripts in Perl, Python, C, bash, or even Assembly :). So, I guess mod_cgi , mod_fastcgi, mod_scgi are their corresponding apache modules. Right? WSGI is some kind of optimized/improved inshort an efficient version specifically designed for python language only. In order to use this mod_wsgi is a way to go. right? This leaves out mod_python. What is it then? Apache - mod_fastcgi - FLUP (via CGI protocol) - Django (via WSGI protocol) Flup is another way to run with wsgi for any webserver that can speak FCGI, SCGI or AJP What is FLUP? What is AJP? How did Django come in the picture? These questions raise quetions about PHP. How is it actually running? What technology is it using? mod_php & mod_python what are the differences? In future if I want to use Perl or Java then again will I have to get confused? Kindly can someone explain things clearly and give a Complete Picture.

  • miglayout: can't get right-alignment to work

    - by Jason S
    Something's not right here. I'm trying to get the rightmost button (labeled "help" in the example below) to be right-aligned to the JFrame, and the huge buttons to have their width tied to the JFrame but be at least 180px each. I got the huge button constraint to work, but not the right alignment. I thought the right alignment was accomplished by gapbefore push (as in this other SO question), but I can't figure it out. Can anyone help me? import javax.swing.JButton; import javax.swing.JFrame; import javax.swing.JPanel; import net.miginfocom.swing.MigLayout; public class RightAlignQuestion { public static void main(String[] args) { JFrame frame = new JFrame("right align question"); JPanel mainPanel = new JPanel(); frame.setContentPane(mainPanel); mainPanel.setLayout(new MigLayout("insets 0", "[grow]", "")); JPanel topPanel = new JPanel(); topPanel.setLayout(new MigLayout("", "[][][][]", "")); for (int i = 0; i < 3; ++i) topPanel.add(new JButton("button"+i), ""); topPanel.add(new JButton("help"), "gapbefore push, wrap"); topPanel.add(new JButton("big button"), "span 3, grow"); JPanel bottomPanel = new JPanel(); bottomPanel.setLayout(new MigLayout("", "[180:180:,grow][180:180:,grow]","100:")); bottomPanel.add(new JButton("tweedledee"), "grow"); bottomPanel.add(new JButton("tweedledum"), "grow"); mainPanel.add(topPanel, "grow, wrap"); mainPanel.add(bottomPanel, "grow"); frame.pack(); frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); frame.setVisible(true); } }

  • Confused about Ajax, Basic XMLHTTPRequest

    - by George
I'm confused about the basics of Ajax. Right now I'm just trying to build a basic Ajax request using plain JavaScript to better understand how things work (as opposed to using Jquery or another library). First off, do you always need to pass a parameter or can you just retrieve data? In its most basic form, could I have an html document (located on the same server) that just has plain text, and another html document retrieve that text and load it on to the page? So I have fox.html with just text that says "The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog." and I want to pull in that text into ajax.html on load. I have the following on ajax.html <script type="text/javascript"> function createAJAX() { var ajax = new XMLHttpRequest(); ajax.open('get','fox.html',true); ajax.send(null); ajax = ajax.responseText; return(ajax); } document.write(createAJAX()); </script> This currently writes nothing when I load the page.

  • Fun things you can do by mutating Java strings

    - by polygenelubricants
So I've come around since I asked how to limit setAccessible to only “legitimate” uses and have come to embrace its power for fun. Enabled by its power, of course, is string mutation. import java.lang.reflect.Field; public class Mutator { static void mutate(Object obj, String field, Object newValue) { try { Field f = obj.getClass().getDeclaredField(field); f.setAccessible(true); f.set(obj, newValue); } catch (Exception e) { } } public static void mutate(String from, String to) { mutate(from, "value", to.toCharArray()); mutate(from, "count", to.length()); } public static void main(String args[]) { Mutator.mutate(System.getProperty("line.separator"), "<br/>\n"); System.out.println("Hello world!"); Mutator.mutate(Integer.toString(Integer.MIN_VALUE), "OMG!"); System.out.println(-2147483648); Mutator.mutate(String.valueOf((Object) null), "LOL!"); System.out.println(Arrays.toString(new int[3][])); Mutator.mutate(Arrays.toString(new int[0]), ":("); System.out.println(Arrays.toString(new byte[0])); } } Output (if no exception is thrown): Hello world!<br/> OMG!<br/> [LOL!, LOL!, LOL!]<br/> :(<br/> Let's see what other fun things we can come up with.

  • How to get user input before saving a file in Sublime Text

    - by EddieJessup
I'm making a plugin in Sublime Text that prompts the user for a password to encrypt a file before it's saved. There's a hook in the API that's executed before a save is executed, so my naïve implementation is: class TranscryptEventListener(sublime_plugin.EventListener): def on_pre_save(self, view): # If document is set to encode on save if view.settings().get('ON_SAVE'): self.view = view # Prompt user for password message = "Create a Password:" view.window().show_input_panel(message, "", self.on_done, None, None) def on_done(self, password): self.view.run_command("encode", {password": password}) The problem with this is, by the time the input panel appears for the user to enter their password, the document has already been saved (despite the trigger being 'on_pre_save'). Then once the user hits enter, the document is encrypted fine, but the situation is that there's a saved plaintext file, and a modified buffer filled with the encrypted text. So I need to make Sublime Text wait until the user's input the password before carrying out the save. Is there a way to do this? At the moment I'm just manually re-saving once the encryption has been done: def on_pre_save(self, view, encode=False): if view.settings().get('ON_SAVE') and not view.settings().get('ENCODED'): self.view = view message = "Create a Password:" view.window().show_input_panel(message, "", self.on_done, None, None) def on_done(self, password): self.view.run_command("encode", {password": password}) self.view.settings().set('ENCODED', True) self.view.run_command('save') self.view.settings().set('ENCODED', False) but this is messy and if the user cancels the encryption then the plaintext file gets saved, which isn't ideal. Any thoughts? Edit: I think I could do it cleanly by overriding the default save command. I hoped to do this by using the on_text_command or on_window_command triggers, but it seems that the save command doesn't trigger either of these (maybe it's an application command? But there's no on_application_command). Is there just no way to override the save function?

  • Adding a JLabel to JLayeredPane from event listener not dragging.

Ok, So for some reason When I add components to a JLayeredPane in its constructor: JLabel label = new JLabel(); label.setSize(100,100); label.setText("This works"); add(label); It works perfectly fine, but If a add it later in the JLayeredPane's parent EDT it doesnt let me move the objects around but they let me see the objects. • SAP related testing

    - by mgj
Dear all, One notion that has been prevalent mostly as rumours for many aspiring programmers is that the testing phase of the SDLC(Software Development Life Cycle) is not that challenging and interesting as one's job as a tester after a period of time becomes monotonous because a person does the same thing repeatedly over and over again. Thats why many have this complexion of looking for a developers job rather than that of testers. Don't testers have a space for themselves in software companies to grow..? Please feel free to express your views for or against this. How true is that, could you please give e.g.'s of instances( need not be practical, even theoretical would suffice) which actually contradict this statement wrt a tester's career specifically wrt the SAP domain. E.g.'s from other domains are also welcome. This question is not meant to hurt someone's feelings who is in the testing domain. Its just that for e.g. in my case I want to know what actually would be the challenge's a tester could also face in real life situations.Something that would make their job also interesting and fun-filled. I myself am pro-testing and also interested in pursuing testing as a profession in a sw co, just curious to know more about it so...:) Thanks..:)

  • Prolog adding and removing list element if non present in second list

    - by logically
I don't know what I'm missing here. I wan't to add an element if it is in arg1 but not in arg2 and want to remove an element if it is in arg1 but not in arg2. I'm using an if condition with includes function that return true if the element is in the arg2 list, false otherwise. Then use built it predicates append and select to add or remove. I'm getting false to all my objectives searches. I comment and uncomment depending on what predicate I want, add or remove. includes([],_). includes([P|Z],S) :- memberchk(P,S), includes(Z,S). addop([],list, res). addop([P|R],list, res) :- includes(P,s0) - addop(R,list, res) ; append(P,list, res), addop(R,list, res). rem([],list, res). rem([P|R],list, res) :- includes(P,list) - rem(R,list, res) ; select(P,list, res),rem(R,list, res). Thanks for help.

  • Java Stop Server Thread

    - by ikurtz
the following code is server code in my app: private int serverPort; private Thread serverThread = null; public void networkListen(int port){ serverPort = port; if (serverThread == null){ Runnable serverRunnable = new ServerRunnable(); serverThread = new Thread(serverRunnable); serverThread.start(); } else { } } public class ServerRunnable implements Runnable { public void run(){ try { //networkConnected = false; //netMessage = "Listening for Connection"; //networkMessage = new NetworkMessage(networkConnected, netMessage); //setChanged(); //notifyObservers(networkMessage); ServerSocket serverSocket = new ServerSocket(serverPort, backlog); commSocket = serverSocket.accept(); serverSocket.close(); serverSocket = null; //networkConnected = true; //netMessage = "Connected: " + commSocket.getInetAddress().getHostAddress() + ":" + //commSocket.getPort(); //networkMessage = new NetworkMessage(networkConnected, netMessage); //setChanged(); //notifyObservers(networkMessage); } catch (IOException e){ //networkConnected = false; //netMessage = "ServerRunnable Network Unavailable"; //System.out.println(e.getMessage()); //networkMessage = new NetworkMessage(networkConnected, netMessage); //setChanged(); //notifyObservers(networkMessage); } } } The code sort of works i.e. if im attempting a straight connection both ends communicate and update. The issue is while im listening for a connection if i want to quit listening then the server thread continues running and causes problems. i know i should not use .stop() on a thread so i was wondering what the solution would look like with this in mind? EDIT: commented out unneeded code.

  • Password Protect for fun

    - by WaZ
Hi there, I am working on a blog for my friend. I want to gift him the blog on his birthday. Just for some fun I want to restrict access to the blog. e.g. The website. www.myfriend.com opens with a splash screen. The screen has his picture and a question regarding him. these questions can be. If you know me.... What is my nickname? Whats my fav. sport? etc etc This restriction should not be based on the default user management offered by Wordpress and should involve a simple answer to a question which is randomly generated from list of questions once the visior gives a correct answer the page redirects to the blog please note even if the user types www.myfriend.com/blog they should be able to see it. this restriction is not a restriction in true sense but just involves some user interaction. Its just for fun but adds a bit of spice. Much appreciated. Thanks.
