  Hi all, I am currently having a problem since the DB has been changed. I am using Datasets for a c# application, and there is a user management system. For the security issues, our current DB design is like user log into app. DB returns a session ID On use of any other stored procedures, a session ID must be specified. BUT, the DB didn't request session ID before. since I am using the datasets, I used update/insert/delete stored procedures with "TableAdaptor Configuration Wizard". Bind Commands to Existing Stored Procedures (choose stored procedures to call and specify any reuiqred parameters) Now, it seems like I have to specify session ID for Insert/Update/Delete stored procedures. How do I specify session ID parameter here? It seems like I have to pick one return parameter variable from a select statement. Thanks,

• Read file structure into an array, but only specific files.

  I have a directory structure that looks like this: /expandables - folder - folder - folder - folder - BannerInfo.txt - index.html Each one of the folder has the same exact stucture. One file named BannerInfo.txt and index.html. There are about 250 of these folders if that matters. I want to loop through these folders and store each of the index.html files into an array. Inside of the index.html file is just some simple HTML and Javascript of which I want to read into a string to be displayed later on. I'm struggling with how to filter out only the index.html file from the individual folders. The purpose of this is because I want to randomly select an index.html file and put the contents into a textarea. I thought I could do a simple array_rand() on the returned array and spit out the string. Any ideas?

  I have a column of type Bit (called BBoolVal in this example). I have a LinqToSQL Statement Like this: var query = List<MyClass> myList = _ctx.DBList .Where(x => x.AGuidID == paramID) .Where(x => x.BBoolVal == false); When I look at the sql it ends up like this (I added the spacing and changed the names): SELECT [t0].[Id], [t0].[AGuidID], [t0].[OtherIDID], [t0].[TimeColumn], [t0].[BBoolVal], [t0].[MoreID] FROM [dbo].[MyTable] AS [t0] WHERE (NOT ([t0].[BBoolVal] = 1)) AND ([t0].[AGuidID] = @p0) Because my x.BBoolVal == false translates to [BBoolVal] == 1 I gather that false = 1 (and thus true = 0). I am asking because this seems a bit backwards to me. I am fine to accept it, I just want to be sure.

• Dynamically changing databases in SQL Server 2000

  At work we have a number of databases that we need to do the same operations on. I would like to write 1 SP that would loop over operations and set the database at the beginning of the loop (example to follow). I've tried sp_executesql('USE ' + @db_id) but that only sets the DB for the scope of that stored procedure. I don't really want to loop with hard coded database names because we need to do similar things in many different places and it's tough to remember where things need to change if we add another DB.   I have 3 tables. Here is the relevant information needed for each. items prod_id order_id item_qty orders order_id order_date order_status acct_id accounts acct_id is_wholesale items is linked to order by the order_id and orders is linked to accounts via acct_id I need to sum item_qty for all items where prod_id=464 and the order stats is not 5 and where the is_wholesale is 0 and the order_date is between two dates. Im struggling with this and would appreciate any help.   I have a program that works when, a file is opened with it using the right click menu in explorer. But if I select multiple files and then right click and open with my program then it opens multiple instances of my program, instead of just passing the multiple files as arguments to a single instance. The program is written in vb.net but is not a windows form, it is just a module, so I can to tick the Single instance option in the properties in Visual Studio. So how do I open multiple files from explorer context menu in a single instance.

• Can JQuery/JavaScript be used to write a substantial client side application?

  I have an unusual situation - I have an embedded video streaming device with a complicated UI, and I need to use an embedded web server to reproduce that UI through a web browser. I'm thinking of using JavaScript/JQuery on a C++ backend (I am NOT coding all this myself, I need to hire people for the grunt work). The embedded web server is much less powerful than a PC, so I want to write an application that runs the entire UI in the browser, and only communicates with the server to pass new program settings back and forth, get status updates from the device, and control video playback. In other words, the client gets one big page or a small number of big pages (effectively downloading the application), the application maintains significant local memory storage, and once the pages are first loaded the server never sends anything layout-related. The application has two rows of tabs to navigate ~40 menu pages, drag-and-select controls to pick cells in a grid, sorted lists, lots of standard data entry options, and it should be able to control up to 16 embedded video players at once (preferably VLC). Is this possible in JavaScript/JQuery with a C++ backend?

  I am working on a widget that is a lot like twitters widget where there is a list of postings and a view more button. I can get it to work with using ID variables but I would like to sort by popular posts. Here is my mysq code: $sql = "SELECT id, title, category, icon_normal, status, description, views_monthly FROM posts WHERE views_monthly<=".$lastPost." AND status='1' ORDER BY views_monthly DESC LIMIT 9" So the problem that I am having is it shows the first 9 just fine. When it gets to the point where views_monthly = 0 then it just loads the same 9 post over again. How do it get it to switch to using ID when it reaches Views_monthly = 0 and load fresh posts?

Inside the table is a notifications_type:string column that contains the type of notification, i.e. "foo" or "bar" or "oof" I want the user to be able to select what notifications they want to display, so there are checkboxes below the result that correspond to prefs_display_foo:boolean, prefs_display_bar:boolean in the User model. What is an elegant way for me to set the :conditions in the find to properly display the sorted results? • Library of ALL countries and their states for address forms

  I need a library that includes all countries and respective codes in 1 array and a second multidimensional array for country to its states and a last array for state code to state name. I found tons of matches for similar requests but none actually have a simple CSV or XML with just that. My goal is to build an address form where you select your country and it then pre-populates the state dropdown - if the country has states - with the country's states. Shouldn't be so hard to find, but I guess i'm blind. Thanks so much for all help!

• How can I observe the style on an element during mouse-over?

  We supply micro-site content to a client. They supply us with a HTML wrapper and we inject our content into it. I'm trying to debug an issue where our style sheet appears to be interfering with the style in their wrapper. Normally I'd use firebug or IE Developer Toolbar to select the element and I can see which styles are being applied, which are being overridden and where they are coming from. But this particular problem only exists when I hover the mouse over a link. Specifically, the link shrinks a little bit. Is there anything that I can use to see what the browser is doing with the styles when I hover the mouse over the link?

• UITableView with multiple selections

  I have a UITableView with multiple selections enabled. If I select items and scroll the list back and forth they are remembered and shown and selected (blue background). Using the didDeselectRowAtIndexPath and didSelectRowAtIndexPath I am able to keep my own array of selected items. That part works well. However, if I then use the sectionForSectionIndexTitle and jump to a letter, the selection appears to be forgotten - even indexPathForSelectedRows appears to have been reset and is now empty. My own array remembers that an item is selected and I can set the cell.selected in the cellForRowAtIndexPath but the instant I move the list it is forgotten again. Any ideas? Is this a bug, or how do you retain the selection list when jumping to a letter?

  There should be a simple Linq query for what I'm trying to accomplish, but I'm producing some ugly code. I have two tables, one of issues and another of issue status. There is a one-to-many relationship between issue and issue status. When an issue is created an IssueStatus is also created with the status field set to "Open" when it is closed, another IssueStatus is created with the status field set to "Closed" ... but issues can be re-opened. It seems like I should be able to write something like this: public static List<Issue> FindOpenIssues(this IList<Issue> issues) { return ( from issue in issues from issueStatus in issue.issueStatus.OrderBy(x=>x.CreatedOn).Single() where issueStatus.Status == "Open" select issue ).ToList(); } This obviously fails, but there must be a clean way to do this? • Error comparing hash to hashed mysql password (output values are equal)

  Im trying to compare a hashed password value in a mysql database with the hashed value of an inputted password from a login form. However, when I compare the two values it says they aren't equal. • SQL Server 2005: When clicking "Add" database I keep getting 'verify that the path or file exists'

  When I right click on "databases" in Sql Server 2005 Management Studio and then Attach... Add I get the following error: C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\SQL Server Management Studio\ Projects\Path\To\MDF\And\LDF\Files\ cannot access the specified path or file on the server. Verify that you have the necessary security privileges and that the path or file exists. The answer is easy - the MDF and LDF files where removed when Nant (by way of my dev machine) issued a drop command. But, after replacing the MDF and LDF files, I want to reattach the database but the above error keeps coming up when I select "Add". Also, I have already "unattached" the database in question and it no longer appears on the left under "databases". I have tried to replace a copy of the MDF and LDF files in the folder being referenced and that didn't work. Any ideas as to how to gracefully get rid of this error?

I also have an invoice table that is dbo.invoices with invoicecompanyId column (which is the same as the companyId on the other table) and it also has a column called invoicedate.
