  • Parse XML and populate in List Box

    - by cedar715
I've posted the same question here and I've also got couple of good answers as well. While I was trying the same answers, I was getting compilation errors. Later I got to know that we are using .NET 2.0 and our existing application has no references to LINQ files. After searching in SO, i tried to figured out partly: public partial class Item { public object CHK { get; set; } public int SEL { get; set; } public string VALUE { get; set; } } Parsing: XmlDocument doc = new XmlDocument(); doc.LoadXml("<LISTBOX_ST> <item><CHK></CHK><SEL>00001</SEL><VALUE>val01</VALUE></item> <item><CHK></CHK><SEL>00002</SEL><VALUE>val02</VALUE></item> <item><CHK></CHK><SEL>00003</SEL><VALUE>val03</VALUE></item> <item><CHK></CHK><SEL>00004</SEL><VALUE>val04</VALUE></item> <item><CHK></CHK><SEL>00005</SEL><VALUE>val05</VALUE></item> </LISTBOX_ST>"); List<Item> _lbList = new List<Item>(); foreach (XmlNode node in doc.DocumentElement.ChildNodes) { string text = node.InnerText; //or loop through its children as well //HOW - TO - POPULATE THE ITEM OBJECT ?????? } listBox1.DataSource = _lbList; listBox1.DisplayMember = "VALUE"; listBox1.ValueMember = "SEL"; How to read two child nodes - SEL and VALUE of node and populate the same in the new Item DTO??

  • Testing for javascript alerts with Capybara

    - by Dhruv
I'm using Cumcumber + capybara + selenium to run automated testing, but I'm having trouble finding a way to assert that a javascript alert is displayed. This question seems has a solution with selenium, but I can't figure out how to call the selenium object using Capybara. Is there a simple way to test for alerts using Capybara? Or is there a workaround?

  • Python mistaking float for string

    - by wrongusername
I receive TypeError: Can't convert 'float' object to str implicitly while using Gambler.pot += round(self.bet + self.money * 0.1) where pot, bet, and money are all doubles (or at least are supposed to be). I'm not sure if this is yet another Eclipse thing, but how do I get the line to compile? Code where bet and money are initialized: money = 0 bet = 0

  • Matrices of "long"s in Java/COLT?

    - by Darren Wilkinson
I'm very new to Java/COLT so apologies if this is a dumb question... But, is it possible to define (2d) matrices of type "long" using the cern.colt.matrix stuff? If so, how?! I can find an abstract class for "Object" and a concrete implementation for "double", but then I am stuck... Thanks,

  • Hidden Features of PHP?

    - by George Mauer
EDIT: This didn't really start as a hidden features of PHP topic, but thats what it ended up as, so go nuts. I know this sounds like a point-whoring question but let me explain where I'm coming from. Out of college I got a job at a PHP shop. I worked there for a year and a half and thought that I had learned all there was to learn about programming. Then I got a job as a one-man internal development shop at a sizable corporation where all the work was in C#. In my commitment to the position I started reading a ton of blogs and books and quickly realized how wrong I was to think I knew everything. I learned about unit testing, dependency injection and decorator patterns, the design principle of loose coupling, the composition over inheritance debate, and so on and on and on - I am still very much absorbing it all. Needless to say my programming style has changed entirely in the last year. Now I find myself picking up a php project doing some coding for a friend's start-up and I feel completely constrained as opposed to programming in C#. It really bothers me that all variables at a class scope have to be referred to by appending '$this-' . It annoys me that none of the IDEs that I've tried have very good intellisense and that my SimpleTest unit tests methods have to start with the word 'test'. It drives me crazy that dynamic typing keeps me from specifying implicitly which parameter type a method expects, and that you have to write a switch statement to do method overloads. I can't stand that you can't have nested namespaces and have to use the :: operator to call the base class's constructor. Now I have no intention of starting a PHP vs C# debate, rather what I mean to say is that I'm sure there are some PHP features that I either don't know about or know about yet fail to use properly. I am set in my C# universe and having trouble seeing outside the glass bowl. So I'm asking, what are your favorite features of PHP? What are things you can do in it that you can't or are more difficult in the .Net languages?

  • Is it possible to use XStream with an abstract node?

    - by Dan Watling
My client application is making calls to a service that returns a common "root" XML, but a different result node. The "root" XML contains possible error codes. Is it possible to use XStream in this scenario? Example: public class RootNode { ErrorInfo errorInfo; BaseResult result; ... } public class ErrorInfo { String message; ... } public abstract BaseResult { } public class SearchResult extends BaseResult { List<Object> searchResults; ... } public class AccountResult extends BaseResult { String name; ... } The XML coming back could be one of two formats: <root> <errorInfo><message>...</message></errorInfo> <result> <searchResults>...</searchResults> </result> </root> OR <root> <errorInfo><message>...</message></errorInfo> <result> <name>...</name> </result> </root> I have set up my XStream object as follows: XStream x = new XStream(); x.alias("root", Root.class); x.alias("errorInfo", ErrorInfo.class); x.alias("result", <SearchResult.class OR AccountResult.class depending on what I am expecting back>); Of course, when I run this I receive an error telling me XStream cannot instantiate the base class (BaseResult). For fun, I also converted the BaseResult into an interface but received a similar error. I've looked through XStream's documentation and it isn't clear to me how to handle a situation like the one I just described. Is it even possible to do using XStream? Thanks, -Dan

  • Javascript callback and google maps api question

    - by es11
I am using google maps api v3 and have an array of arrays object: MVCArray.<MVCArray.<LatLng>> I want to iterate over this. I see that MVCArray has a method forEach which uses a call back, but I have no idea how to use this (I haven't done much js). The api defines this method as follows: forEach(callback:function(*, number))) Could somebody please show me an example of how to use this given an MVCArray of MVCArrays?

  • Member variable pointers to COM objects

Hi Folks, Is there any problem with keeping member variable pointer refernces to COM objects and reussing the reference through out the class in C++. Is anybody aware of a reason why you would want to call .CreateInstance every time you wanted a to use the COM object i.e. you were getting a fresh instance each time. I cannot see any reason who you would want to do this, Thanks, (No is an acceptable answer!!!)

  • Extraneous Library Linkage

    - by gmatt
I have a question which may be somewhat silly because I'm pretty sure I may know the answer already. Suppose you have static library A, and dynamic shared object library B and your program C under linux. Suppose that library A calls functions from library B and your program calls functions from library A. Now suppose that all functions that C calls in A make no use of functions in B. To compile C will it be enough to link just A and omit B and furthermore can your program C be run on a system without library B installed?

  • handling NSStream events when using EASession in MonoTouch

    - by scotru
Does anyone have an example of how to handle read and write NSStream events in Monotouch when working with accessories via EASession? It looks like there isn't a strongly typed delegate for this and I'm having trouble figuring out what selectors I need to handle on the delegates of my InputStream and OutputStream and what I actually need to do with each selector in order to properly fill and empty the buffers belonging to the EASession object. Basically, I'm trying to port Apple's EADemo app to Monotouch right now. Here's the Objective-C source that I think is relevant to this problem: / / asynchronous NSStream handleEvent method - (void)stream:(NSStream *)aStream handleEvent:(NSStreamEvent)eventCode { switch (eventCode) { case NSStreamEventNone: break; case NSStreamEventOpenCompleted: break; case NSStreamEventHasBytesAvailable: [self _readData]; break; case NSStreamEventHasSpaceAvailable: [self _writeData]; break; case NSStreamEventErrorOccurred: break; case NSStreamEventEndEncountered: break; default: break; } } / low level write method - write data to the accessory while there is space available and data to write - (void)_writeData { while (([[_session outputStream] hasSpaceAvailable]) && ([_writeData length] > 0)) { NSInteger bytesWritten = [[_session outputStream] write:[_writeData bytes] maxLength:[_writeData length]]; if (bytesWritten == -1) { NSLog(@"write error"); break; } else if (bytesWritten > 0) { [_writeData replaceBytesInRange:NSMakeRange(0, bytesWritten) withBytes:NULL length:0]; } } } // low level read method - read data while there is data and space available in the input buffer - (void)_readData { #define EAD_INPUT_BUFFER_SIZE 128 uint8_t buf[EAD_INPUT_BUFFER_SIZE]; while ([[_session inputStream] hasBytesAvailable]) { NSInteger bytesRead = [[_session inputStream] read:buf maxLength:EAD_INPUT_BUFFER_SIZE]; if (_readData == nil) { _readData = [[NSMutableData alloc] init]; } [_readData appendBytes:(void *)buf length:bytesRead]; //NSLog(@"read %d bytes from input stream", bytesRead); } [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] postNotificationName:EADSessionDataReceivedNotification object:self userInfo:nil]; } I'd also appreciate any architectural recommendations on how to best implement this in monotouch. For example, in the Objective C implementation these functions are not contained in any class--but in Monotouch would it make sense to make them members of my

  • Why isnt sql management studio integrated in visual studio?

    - by Rob Packwood
I have both SQL Server 2005 and Visual Studio 2008 installed and think it would be really nice to have SQL Management Studio integrated directly within Visual Studio. Is there a way to make that happen? What about in VS 2010 with SQL Server 2008? I find the Visual Studio Server Explorer window to be much slower too than the Object Browser in SQL Server's Management Studio... it would be nice to never really need to use the Server Explorer.

  • ListBox item doesn't get refresh in WPF?

    - by sanjeev40084
    I have a listbox which has couple of items. When double clicked on each item, the user get option to edit item (text of item). Now once i update the item, my item in listbox doesn't get updated. The first window (one which has listbox) is in MainWindow.xaml file and second window is in EditTaskView.xaml(one which let's edit the items text) file. The code that displays items in lists is: Main.Windows.cs public static ObservableCollection TaskList; public void GetTask() { TaskList = new ObservableCollection<Task> { new Task("Task1"), new Task("Task2"), new Task("Task3"), new Task("Task4") }; lstBxTask.ItemsSource = TaskList; } private void lstBxTask_MouseDoubleClick(object sender, MouseButtonEventArgs e) { var selectedTask = (Task)lstBxTask.SelectedItem; EditTask.txtBxEditedText.Text = selectedTask.Taskname; EditTask.PreviousTaskText = selectedTask.Taskname; EditTask.Visibility = Visibility.Visible; } The xaml code that displays the list: <ListBox x:Name="lstBxTask" Style="{StaticResource ListBoxItems}" MouseDoubleClick="lstBxTask_MouseDoubleClick"> <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <StackPanel> <Rectangle Style="{StaticResource LineBetweenListBox}"/> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Taskname}" Style="{StaticResource TextInListBox}"/> <Button Name="btnDelete" Style="{StaticResource DeleteButton}" Click="btnDelete_Click"/> </StackPanel> </StackPanel> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> <ToDoTask:EditTaskView x:Name="EditTask" Grid.Row="1" Grid.RowSpan="2" Grid.ColumnSpan="2" Visibility="Collapsed"/> The Save button in TaskEditView.xaml does this: public string PreviousTaskText { get; set; } private void btnSaveEditedText_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { foreach (var t in MainWindow.TaskList) { if (t.Taskname == PreviousTaskText) { t.Taskname = txtBxEditedText.Text; } } Visibility = Visibility.Collapsed; } TaskList is the ObservableCollection, and i though once you update the value the UI gets refreshed. But doesn't seem to work that way. What am i missing?

  • END_TAG exception while calling WCF WebService from Android using KSOAP2?

    - by sunil
Hi, I am trying to call a WCF Web Service from Android using KSOAP2 library. But I am getting this END_TAG exception. I have followed this thread to call WCF Web Service but still no result. I am passing "urn:TestingWcf/GetNames" as SOAP_ACTION, does this causes problem in Android since the error occurs at the statement "aht.call(SOAP_ACTION, envelope)" where aht is AndroidHttpTransport class object. Can someone let me know what the problem may be? import org.ksoap2.*; import org.ksoap2.serialization.*; import org.ksoap2.transport.*; import android.app.Activity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.widget.TextView; public class Ksoap2Test extends Activity { private static final String METHOD_NAME = "GetNamesJsonWithParam" private static final String NAMESPACE = "http://tempuri.org/"; private static final String URL = "http://192.168.3.61/BattleEmpire.Service/TestingWcf.svc/basic"; final String SOAP_ACTION = "urn:TestingWcf/GetNamesJsonWithParam"; TextView tv; StringBuilder sb; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); tv = new TextView(this); sb = new StringBuilder(); call(); tv.setText(sb.toString()); setContentView(tv); } public void call() { try { SoapObject request = new SoapObject(NAMESPACE, METHOD_NAME); request.addProperty("imran", "Qing"); SoapSerializationEnvelope envelope = new SoapSerializationEnvelope(SoapEnvelope.VER11); envelope.dotNet = true; envelope.setOutputSoapObject(request); System.out.println("Request " + envelope.toString()); //HttpTransportSE androidHttpTransport = new HttpTransportSE(URL); AndroidHttpTransport aht = new AndroidHttpTransport(URL); aht.call(SOAP_ACTION, envelope); //aht.debug = true; /*HttpTransportSE androidHttpTransport = new HttpTransportSE(URL); androidHttpTransport.call(SOAP_ACTION, envelope);*/ SoapPrimitive result = (SoapPrimitive)envelope.getResponse(); //to get the data String resultData = result.toString(); // 0 is the first object of data sb.append(resultData + "\n"); SoapObject resultsRequestSOAP = (SoapObject) envelope.bodyIn; System.out.println(resultsRequestSOAP.toString()); } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); sb.append("Error:\n" + e.getMessage() + "\n"); } } } `
