  • ANTLR - Embedding Java code, evaluate before or after?

    Hello all, I'm writing a simple scripting language on top of Java/JVM, where you can also embed Java code using the {} brackets. The problem is, how do I parse this in the grammar? I have two options: 1] Allow everything to be in it, such as: [a-z|a-Z|0-9|_|$], and go on 2] Get an extra java grammar and use that grammar to parse that small code (is it actually possible and efficient?) Since option 2] is basically a double-check since when evaluating java code it's also being checked. Now my last question is -- is way that can dynamically execute java code also with objects which have been created at runtime? Thanks, William van Doorn

  • ASP.NET - Webservice not being called from javascript

    Ok I'm stumped on this one. I've got a ASMX web service up and running. I can browse to it (~/Webservice.asmx) and see the .NET generated page and test it out.. and it works fine. I've got a page with a Script Manager with the webservice registered... and i can call it in javascript (Webservice.Method(...)) just fine. However, I want to use this Webservice as part of a jQuery Autocomplete box. So I have use the url...? and the Webservice is never being called. Here's the code.   • How long is too long for a script to execute?

    What is the max time do you think is acceptable for a web script (PHP for example) to execute before it starts to become an annoyance for the user (on average)? I always thought that if the user has to wait more than 1 second for the page to load (this of course after images and css have been cached..this rule really only applies for subsequent requests) they would start to get annoyed.

  • Assembly Load and loading the "sub-modules" dependencies - "cannot fild the file specified"

Right now I am getting "The system cannot find the file specified" on Assemblies referenced in my so called modules. I cannot really get how to use the AssemblyResolve event... The longer version I have one application, MODULECONTROLLER, that loads separate modules. These "separate modules" are located in well-known subdirectories, like appBinDir\Modules\Module1 appBinDir\Modules\Module2 Each directory contains all the DLLs that exists in the bin-directory of those projects after a build. So the MODULECONTROLLER loads all the DLLs contained in those folders using this code: byte[] bytes = File.ReadAllBytes(dllFileFullPath); Assembly assembly = null; assembly = Assembly.Load(bytes); I am, as you can see, loading the byte[]-array (so I dont lock the DLL-files). Now, in for example MODULE1, I have a static reference called MyGreatXmlProtocol. The MyGreatXmlProtocol.dll then also exists in the directory appBinDir\Modules\Module1 and is loaded using the above code When code in the MODULE1 tries to use this MyGreatXmlProtocol, I get: Could not load file or assembly 'MyGreatXmlProtocol, Version=1.0.3797.26527, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. So, in a post (like this one) they say that To my understanding reflection will load the main assembly and then search the GAC for the referenced assemblies, if it cannot find it there, you can then incorparate an assemblyResolve event: First; is it really needed to use the AssemblyResolve-event to make this work? Shouldnt my different MODULEs themself load their DLLs, as they are statically referenced? Second; if AssemblyResolve is the way to go - how do I use it?     Hello, I have a index.php file that will include several external files: "content/templates/id1/template.php" "content/templates/id2/template.php" "content/templates/id3/template.php" etc. All these files are loaded dynamically into index.php (it reads all folders inside "templates" directory and then includes every "template.php" file). I want to make "template.php" to have the same code in all the "id1,id2,id3" folders, BUT to load values from index.php depending in which folder it stays.. How can I do that? Thank You!

This works fine for most properties, like int an string, but fails for DateTime? (and presumably other nullable value types). So why can't I pass a DateTime? into that, as it's convertible to object? If I look at Nullable<T>, it indeed has an override of Equals(object o). PS: I realize that this isn't a proper generator yet as it can't deal with null values, but I'll get to that :)

I can't find any relevant information on using Reflection to instance template classes either. (How) can I create an instance of a dynamically typed repository at runtime?

  • Is the a pattern for iterating over lists held by a class (dynamicly typed OO languages)

    If I have a class that holds one or several lists is it better to allow other classes to fetch those lists(with a getter) or to implement a doXList/eachXList type method for that list that take a function and call that function on each element of the list contained by that object. I wrote a program that did a ton of this and I hated passing around all these lists sometimes with method in class a calling method in class B to return lists contained in class C, B contains a C or multiple C's (note question is about dynamically typed OO languages languages like ruby or smalltalk) ex. (that came up in my program) on a Person class containing scheduling preferences and a scheduler class needing to access them.

  • Problem with events and ParseControl

    I'm adding a control (linkbutton) dynamically using ParseControl and it's fine except when I specify an event handler. If I use: Dim c As Control = ParseControl("<asp:LinkButton id=""btnHide"" runat=""server"" text=""Hide"" OnClick="btnHide_Click" />") it correctly adds the control to the page but the click event doesn't fire. If instead I find the control in the controls collection and manually wire up the event it works fine. I've tried loading in both Page_Init and Page_Load and it's the same thing either way. Any ideas?

  • javascript check function for a html form

    I'm having a problem with a HTML form (name, e-mail, subject, message), I can't validate the form if it was completed correct or not. I want to call a javascript function when the form is submitted and alert if a field wasn't completed correct. My problem is with the submit button, because my boss said that I must use he's own php function to insert a submit button. The php function looke like: function normal_button($text, $width, $param = '', $class = 'button-blue') { $content = '<div class="'.$class.'" style="width:'.$width.'px;" '.$param.'>'.$text.'</div>'; return $content; } and how I call the function: echo normal_button('Send it', '100', 'onclick="document.getElementById(\'emailForm\').submit();" '); I tried to call the js function declaring the onSubmit="return checkForm(this)" in the <form action='email.php' method='post'> HTML form, but I can't "catch" the submit. Also I tried to catch it with jquery, $(document).ready(function() { $('.normal_button').click(function() { }); ); but I can't return false if a field wasn't completed correct. I must use he's PHP function to insert the submit button, but how can I "catch" the fields, how can I validate them? Any suggestions? Thank you !

I was wondering if there was any way to have the text be different for different rows depending on a condition.     Hi, I want to generate a pdf report, where a column(or cell/field) is left blank(empty) on purpose. This column actually does have a value but, I'm choosing not to display it. The column title still needs to be displayed. Example of where this could be useful: Blank(empty) column: A comments or notes column down one side of a report.   • g++ linker error--typeinfo, but not vtable

    I know the standard answer for a linker error about missing typeinfo usually also involves vtable and some virtual function that I forgot to actually define. I'm fairly certain that's not the situation this time. Passing in a WidgetSet::Ptr totally eliminates the need for a cast, and it builds fine (which is why I think there's more going on than the standard answer for this question). Obviously, I'm trimming away a lot of details that might be important. My next step is to cut it down to the smallest example that fails to build, but I figured I'd try the lazy way out and take a stab on here first. TIA!

    I am trying to create a Single Table Inheritance. However, the Controller must be able to know which class to find or create. These are based on another class. For example, ContactEvent with type = Letter needs to grab attributes from a corresponding Model called Letter. Here's what I've tried to do and hit a snag, labelled below.
